Here’s my fic for the @tododekubigbang !!
My partner @chiasa-art ‘s art can be found here, and you can find the link to my fic here!!!
Here’s a little summary I made‼️
After a quirk mishap, Izuku finds himself at UA. He remembers dreaming of being there, among other aspiring heroes while surrounded by established ones. But that dream is a past one, one he wishes not to experience. But here he is anyway, because life loves to mess with him.
With his future and life on the line, and his situation less than ideal, he has to push through like he always does.
But maybe having Shouto by his side can make everything more bearable.

The Face Of Concentration
After the sludge villain incident, All Might waited a second too long and missed Izuku. Izuku never got trained by his hero. Izuku never got into U.A. High. Izuku never became a hero. Shinso was in class 1-A, replacing the spot Izuku should’ve been. Mirio ended up obtaining the One for All quirk and as a result, died shortly after the war.
Katsuki had matured during his time at U.A. High and was riddled with guilt. He wasn’t proud of his past self and the mistakes he made. He knew he was responsible for Izuku giving up on his dream. He knew what he had done was unforgivable, but he wanted to apologize.
Little did Katsuki know, Izuku was a famous hero support gear inventor. He worked for the best of the best and was a hero's favorite.
One day Katsuki, Shoto, and Eijiro were out eating lunch. It was the one day all three were off and they wanted to enjoy having a nice meal in town.
Eijiro had recently returned back from his honeymoon with Mina so he was happy to spend some time with his pals. He wanted to brag about his time with his wife.
Katsuki and Shoto were still single. They hadn’t anticipated hero life would get in the way of having a love life. They knew it would get in the way due to the scheduling conflicts, but there was a list of issues that would arise. The extent of it could them off guard.
Izuku was strolling down the street. He had grabbed some lunch and bought Inko a birthday gift. Now he was on his way back to his studio to wrap up some hero costumes. He spotted the hero trio and got a little excited. Pulling out his phone, Izuku pulled up the contacts app and pulled up the phone number option.
Izuku approached the three with a pokerface. The three had been talking so it took a moment for Izuku’s presence to be noticed. Eijiro was the one to first see Izuku and brightly smiled.
“Oh! Hey Midoriya,” greeted the hero. Mina had been the one to introduce Eijiro to Midoriya.
Izuku turned his phone around to show Shoto his screen, remaining silent. His screen had the number pad on display. Katsuki was staring at Izuku in shock. Izuku was stunning.
Izuku was wearing a white button-up. The sleeves were rolled up to his elbows to reveal his muscular arms. The top two buttons were left undone to reveal his fair, freckled skin. He was sporting a long skirt that rested at his ankles. The skirt was recognized as a very pricy piece from one of the most expensive clothing brands. His ears were littered with piercings. He also had a nose piercing. His skin glowed and his lips were a beautiful rosy pink. His eyes were still wide and beautiful, full of emotion despite his poker face. If it wasn’t for his natural beauty, the enchanting jewelry that glimmered in the sunlight would’ve made Katsuki evaporate.
Shoto slowly took the phone, his cheeks heating up and his eyes ever so slightly widening. “Are you asking me for my number?”
Midoriya responded with a single nod and pointed towards the phone.
Eijiro was loving this, covering his mouth to hide his huge smile. The Izuku Midoriya was asking the number two hero Shoto for his number. What an insane couple they’d make. He was so excited for his bro. Katsuki finally let reality settle in his stomach, Izuku was here for one thing and one thing only: Shoto Todoroki.
Shoto put in his number with a small smile. He was clearly flattered and flustered that someone so beautiful would approach him. He typed in his name quickly before handing the phone back to Izuku.
Izuku took the phone, took a good look at the contact information, and then looked directly at Shoto. “Thanks, Shoto-kun,” chirped Izuku, flashing a bashful smile after holding a poker face through the whole interaction.
“Kay, bye guys,” said Izuku sweetly, before pocketing his phone and adjusting his bags. Turning on his heel, Izuku walked off, flawlessly slipping on sunglasses. The three watched him leave, still in a state of disbelief at what they just saw.
Shoto glowed bright red, covering his face as he melted into his seat. Eijiro clapped his hands, laughing. “No way man! You have Midoriya chasing after you! Imagine being the one to give him the hots!”
Katsuki raised a brow, shaking his head. “Wait. Back up. How the hell do you know who he is?”
Eijiro paused momentarily before waving his hand. “Hold up! How do you not know about him? Midoriya is a well-established hero support gear engineer. Mina actually told me to start having my gear made by him. He’s super popular. All the top heroes go to him.”
Katsuki smiled a bit, happy to hear Midoriya didn’t completely give up on the hero world. “Well, that’s good to hear. I guess I should switch to him as well.”
“Totally! You’ll immediately notice a difference in the quality of your costume,” laughed Eijiro, loving how even Katsuki was infatuated with Izuku.
Shoto was still in disbelief. He couldn't comprehend he was approached, remaining happily quiet for a bit.
Shoto spent a lot of time with Izuku. Katsuki tagged along occasionally, trying to rebuild his broken relationship with Izuku. Izuku was apprehensive in the beginning, giving the blond a cold shoulder. Despite his shortness, Izuku accepted Katsuki’s request and would manufacture his costumes.
Eventually, Shoto and Izuku started dating. The two became a popular couple.
Shoto was a serious and mysterious hero, but genuinely a sweetheart. Izuku was smart and known for his sassy attitude, but was also a sweetheart. They were like putty in each other's hands, in love with being in love.
When they eventually did tie the knot, Eijiro revealed he had taken a video of Izuku asking Shoto for his number. Katsuki had displayed it during his speech at their wedding reception. Izuku was bright red, embarrassed that was how he acted.
Izuku hadn't realized Katsuki had been there. He felt a bit stupid for acting so indifferent. After all, that was the first time Katsuki had seen him in years. Still, even if he hadn’t become a hero, he had a wonderful husband and his childhood best friend. He couldn’t have been more grateful.
The end!

summary:
Izuku has loved the theater ever since he was a child, but after a bad incident left him with stage fright, he became content with working behind the scenes with stagecraft. However, he still yearned to be on the stage once more. Years later, after much encouragement from his stepdad and friends, Izuku gained the confidence to audition for their school's rendition of Beauty and the Beast. To his surprise, he was casted as the lead with his crush, Todoroki Shouto, playing his romantic interest. He really hopes he can survive the next couple months.

'' i really want to kiss you right now. '' '' i would love to kiss you, actually. '' '' i like kissing you. '' with tododeku
Do you like awkward first kisses? Then I have a fic for you!
🌻🌻🌻
It was quiet. Peaceful. And yet it was eerie.
The porch of their dorm hall has a big set of double doors to invite its students inside but it’s kind of gloomy at night. It’s a little chillier and it’s darker and no friendly faces are crossing through the threshold.
Izuku and Shoto sat on the ledge together, Shoto sitting straight up and Izuku kicking his legs over the side, heels of his sneakers bouncing off the brick. “It can get lonely at night,” Shoto muttered to break the tension.
They both were in loose t-shirts and sweatpants, having come down to the landing in the middle of the night. “I get it,” Izuku replied, focusing on the swinging of his legs, “the nightmares, anyway. I know mine aren’t the same as yours, but I get them. A lot.”
“I am… used to the isolation,” Shoto continued, “I had to try and soothe myself once Fuyumi and Natsuo went off to school.”
Izuku gently rested his head on Shoto’s shoulder in an attempt to comfort him, “You don’t have to worry about that now. You got plenty of people around now who want to help you.”
Shoto didn’t flinch when he felt the soft waves of Izuku’s hair and the gentle pressure of his head. He let the silence linger to savor the physical affection. “Midoriya,” he spoke again after some time, “If you don’t mind me asking… what… what do you dream about? On nights like these.”
“Are you asking what my nightmares are about?” Izuku asked, gazing toward the horizon line.
“Yes… but you don’t have to answer.”
“No… it’s okay. I trust you,” Izuku leaned more into Shoto… he was comforting in his own way, “I… I’m in combat a lot. Facing off against a villain I’ve faced before… but the missions and battles don’t play out the way they did in the past.”
Shoto looked down at the sweet boy beside him. Knowing they both suffer from nightmares was hard enough. Shoto let Izuku continue, “It’s a lot of ‘what if’ scenarios. What would happen if someone got injured, or I lost control of my quirk… stuff like that.”
Shoto nodded in understanding, and Izuku managed a smile when he felt Shoto’s neck rub against his hair. Izuku continued, “And my thoughts in those dreams sometimes are so silly,” he exhaled a weak chuckle, “like ‘I can’t die; I haven’t kissed anyone yet’.”
“That’s nothing to be ashamed of,” Shoto replied, “I haven’t… done that before either.”
Izuku held his breath. Being this close to Shoto and talking about kissing was making him flustered, but he couldn’t let that show. He pursed his lips in anticipation of… something… but he didn’t know what. “Is it really,” Shoto paused, “Is it really that big of a deal? A first kiss?”
Izuku could finally exhale. “Everyone acts like it is… Ashido always gets so giddy when she hears about people in our class k-kissing.”
This gave Shoto an idea. It was a crazy idea that could backfire in his face, but it was an idea. It’s an idea that could help him know where Izuku stands. “I never understood why it’s so important… would you—“ Shoto suddenly felt a lump in his throat, and Izuku noticed Shoto’s abrupt pause, moving to look up at him, “— would you maybe—?”
“Shoto,” Izuku tried to read Shoto’s face, even though he was in profile, “Are you asking—?”
“I think we should kiss to get it out of the way. So any future k-kissing doesn’t have this pressure.”
It’s what Izuku thought Shoto was thinking. And now he’s caught between a rock and a hard place. Does Shoto just see him as someone to mark off an item on a list? Is that why he asked? Izuku’s been in awe of Shoto for a long time now and while he wanted to kiss him, he was worried if he did this now, it wouldn’t be special, or worse: it wouldn’t mean anything to Shoto.
“Midoriya?” Izuku shook his head, realizing he was too absorbed in his thoughts, “Are you okay? You— you don’t have to if you don’t want to—“
Izuku’s eyes were shut tight and his hands were closed fists as his words poured out of his mouth faster than his brain could process them, “— I really want to kiss you right now!”
Izuku smacked his hands to cover his face, embarrassed and not wanting to see Shoto’s reaction.
Shoto slowly turned to Izuku, blinking to attempt to piece together what he just heard. The silence was deafening.
Izuku’s eyes shut tighter and his throat was closing as he held back tears. Silence is almost worse than rejection. He couldn’t take it. He mumbled into his hands, “I would love to kiss you, actually,” to make sure Shoto didn’t misinterpret, now that Izuku’s feelings are out in the open.
“So you— you want to do this?” Shoto asked, feeling a new kind of heat rise to his face.
Izuku peeked through his fingers, hoping the tears weren’t too obvious and nodded in confirmation.
“So how… how do we start?” Shoto asked, nervous and genuinely wondering, pursing his lips and gazing back toward the horizon.
Izuku sniffled and wiped his eyes as he took a deep breath. “Um… in movies and stuff,” he sniffled again. He’s beating himself up inside for crying right before he has his first kiss, “They just like, close their eyes and lean in?”
When Shoto heard sniffling, he turned back to Izuku and was taken by surprise. “Midoriya?” He moved closer and put his hands to Izuku’s face. He used his thumbs to brush the tears off of Izuku’s face, “Am I upsetting you?”
Izuku hoped Shoto didn’t feel how hot his face suddenly became, “No, I was j—just worried.”
“What were you worried about? Can I help?”
Izuku could feel Shoto leaning closer. And he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t leaning in, too. He shut his eyes and took a deep breath once more, hoping it would give him confidence. “Y—you can help by kissing me.”
“Oh—“ Izuku couldn’t help but smile when he saw that his comment made Shoto flustered, “We just… close our eyes and lean in?”
“Mhm…” Izuku’s heart was racing and he could feel his leg bouncing with anxiety.
“Um… maybe on the count of three?” Shoto quietly suggested, feeling just as nervous.
“Yeah, okay,” Izuku nodded in agreement, putting one of his hands on Shoto’s.
They both closed their eyes and slowly counted down to three together. In the commotion of feelings, Izuku ended up using Shoto’s hand as leverage to pull himself to Shoto’s lips.
At first, it was two faces smooshed together, but as they settled, they truly felt each other, and the tension dissipated. They hummed in simultaneous relief and pleasure as their lips gently pressed tender and soft kisses. Izuku’s free hand found Shoto’s neck and his fingers lazily brushed the hair at the nape of Shoto’s neck. This wasn’t just to get the pressure of a First Kiss off their minds anymore. That was never really a priority for the two of them.
After a few moments, their lips parted, but their foreheads pressed together as they both grinned, wanting to live in the moment for as long as they could.
This time, it was Shoto who broke the silence, “I… really like kissing you,” he said, breathily.
“I liked it, too,” Izuku giggled.
They leaned in once more to keep kissing, since they both liked it so much, and they felt warmth and light overcome them on what was otherwise a dark and dreary night.

glitter in the rain

Izuku ran a hand over his tired face, wondering just which god he’d managed to piss off today. Traffic was backed up down the block, which usually only happened if there was some sort of police situation. Which meant his car probably wouldn’t be moving for the foreseeable future. Which was perfectly fine with him.
He hated driving. Hated driving in inclement weather even more. His beat-up sedan had even more beat-up windshield wipers, which were working frantically to try to keep the downpour at bay long enough for Izuku to see the taillights of the overly-ostentatious sports car in front of him.
That car probably cost more than two years’ salary for Izuku. If he had a car like that, he definitely wouldn’t have it out in the rain and…was that hail? Izuku groaned, knocking his head lightly against the steering wheel as the line of cars crept forward before easing to a stop again. Of course it was hail. Because the gods hated him and thought his car didn’t already have enough hail damage.
He peeked at his phone, nestled in the cup holder where it would stay until he got home. Which might be tomorrow morning at this rate. He hadn’t heard from Shouto yet today, but his boyfriend kept odd hours. Medical school demanded odd hours. An ache settled in his chest as he scrubbed weary fingers through emerald curls. Only one more weeks until Shouto’s school went on break, and he and Shouto could spend an entire month together.
It was days like today where Izuku really, selfishly, regretted encouraging his boyfriend to go to the best medical school in the country. Which happened to be halfway across the country. Izuku hadn’t been able to follow him - he had a job he loved here, students who needed him, his entire life had always been here. But dammit, he’d had a shitty day and he was allowed to feel miserable for himself for a moment, okay?!
He sniffled, rubbing a hand across his eyes and wincing when his eyes very painfully reminded that he hadn’t been able to get all of the glitter off his hands before leaving school for the day. They really weren’t kidding when they said it would get everywhere. Including - apparently - his eyes.
Well, at least he was already tearing up. It would make getting the glitter out easier. Izuku let out a frustrated whine, resting his forehead against the steering wheel as he allowed himself a moment to cry. It was to get the glitter out, okay?!
And of course the asshole behind him chose that moment to honk.
Izuku jumped, his foot almost coming off the clutch- which, the last thing he needed was to stall out right now - as he gave the blurry headlights behind him an exasperated look. Seriously? Who honks in a traffic jam in the middle of a goddamn rainstorm? Wiping the tears from his eyes - and smearing another resilient patch of glitter across his face - he straightened up in his seat; he just had to get through this drive, and then he could curl up in a bath and maybe talk to Shouto and try to forget this horrible day ever existed.
The brakelights in front of him flickered as the car began to creep forward and Izuku resisted the urge to flip off the car behind him as he shifted his car back into drive. He hated driving. Why did he ever let Shouto convince him to keep this car?
Because he wanted you to have a way to drive home so you didn’t get robbed on the subway again. He offered to buy you a nicer car. You said no. His inner voice reminded him snootily. How dare he want his boyfriend to be safe?
His car crept forward, his feet finding the perfect balance between the pedals to keep the car shuttering along, trying to fight the way his mind was attempting to drag him further down into his pity party.
The last thing Izuku wanted was for Shouto to feel like he couldn’t take care of himself. He didn’t want Shouto to feel responsible for him - he couldn’t be a burden.
Izuku was shocked back to the present when his car jolted, a tremor running through its shaky-but-dependable frame before Izuku’s foot slipped off the clutch and the car stalled out.
No. No no no no no. No, it wasn’t possible. He couldn’t have hit the car in front of him. He’d done the calculations in his head the entire time. He knew exactly how far his car extended in front of him, exactly how much wiggle room he had before he even came remotely close to the vicinity of potentially tapping another car.
For a moment, he sat there in stunned silence, listening to the increasingly-loud rainfall on the roof of his car. And…yep, that was definitely hail.
Because apparently the gods hadn’t tortured him enough today.
The very-expensive car he’d just rear-ended flipped its hazards on and Izuku felt his stomach drop into his toes. Okay. Apparently they were doing this here, in the middle of traffic - not like they had an option to get out of the lanes they were in anyway. Izuku tapped the button to turn his own hazards on, taking his time to try to salvage some semblance of dignity. He grabbed his wallet, already running the calculations for how much damage he possibly could have done to the very rich person’s very expensive car.
The lock stuck when he tried to open his door - like it always did - and Izuku took out some of his frustration in shouldering the door open. It popped free with a squeal, and Izuku stepped out into the rain and hail.
Of course he hadn’t brought his good jacket today.
The driver of the car behind him honked again, and really that was the last straw. Izuku whipped around, his hands trembling with exhaustion and desperation and an unhealthy amount of rage.
“Where the hell would you like us to go?! Honking just makes you look like an asshole, you know!”
The driver probably couldn’t hear him over the storm, but it did help quell some of the turmoil twisting his stomach into knots.
“Izuku?“
Izuku froze, that voice doing more for him than a weekend spent in his tub could possibly hope to achieve. He could literally feel the tension easing out of his shoulders - instantly being replaced by confusion.
He spun in place, nearly toppling over as his feet slid on the slick pavement. Getting out of the ridiculously-expensive car he’d just hit was a very familiar lithe figure, two-toned hair getting drenched immediately in the downpour. Izuku’s jaw dropped as Shouto closed the distance between them, collar of his coat tucked up against the wind and rain.
“Shouto?” Izuku wasn’t proud of the way that his voice cracked, crooked fingers reaching out. Was he dreaming? Was this some sort of stress-induced hallucination meant to protect what little sanity he had left?
Shouto reached him, taking his hands between his own, heterochromatic eyes sweeping over Izuku’s face, taking in the glitter streaked in his freckles like tiny stars, winking as the rain hit them.
“It was holiday arts and crafts day, wasn’t it?” Shouto murmured fondly, reaching up to brush a thumb over Izuku’s cheekbone, tracing a cluster of freckles.
“I swear those children have a superhuman ability to get glitter everywhere.“ Izuku shook his head, damp green curls falling in his eyes.
“If only you had a boyfriend here willing to take a very long bath with you and ensure that we find every last speck of glitter,” Shouto murmured, long slender fingers trailing down Izuku’s sides, leaving flickers of heat in their wake.
Izuku knew he had to be dreaming. Shouto couldn’t be here. He couldn’t have just rear-ended his boyfriend’s rental car in traffic during the worst storm they’d had in years on a Friday after he’d wrangled thirty kindergarteners all day and tried to stop each and every one of them from eating glue. That sort of thing only happened in rom-coms.
Granted, every day of Izuku’s life since he met Shouto had felt like a rom-com.
“What are you doing here?” Izuku whispered, committing this image of him to memory, standing soaked in the rain, looking like something out of every dream Izuku ever had for his future.
“I took my exams early,” Shouto murmured. “I caught the first flight out this morning.”
“And got the most expensive rental car they had?” Izuku eyed the scratched-up bumper on the car in question. He had no idea how he was going to pay for that.
“It’s not a rental; it’s my dad’s. Don’t worry about it.” Shouto wrapped an arm around Izuku’s waist. “I’m more worried about your car.”
Izuku shook his head; his car was the last thing he was worried about right now. “It’ll hold up. Just have to get it home.”
A clatter broke through the constant barrage of rain, and Izuku winced, glancing sheepishly over his shoulder. His fender sat haphazardly where it was half-attached to the frame of his car. He groaned, hiding his face against Shouto’s chest and drinking in the feeling of his silent laughter.
He’d missed him so damn much.
“Will you let me buy you a new car now?” Shouto asked softly.
“I can get that fixed, it’s not -”
Protests died in Izuku’s throat when he heard his fender give a final clatter as the entire thing broke off and fell to the pavement.
“…okay.”
He’d held his own for this long. It was okay to let his ridiculously-wealthy boyfriend take care of him sometimes, right?

“Todoroki, I don't think you understand.” Aizawa stands, staring down at him, and Shouto can’t help how small he feels under his gaze. “You don’t have a choice here. Either you fix your costume so you're not at risk of dying before you graduate, or you leave the hero course. This programme is compulsory. Fail to complete it, and you won't have to worry about graduating.”
Shouto doesn't say anything, merely slings his bag over one shoulder and stalks out of the door. He’ll pass this programme one way or another, but his costume isn’t going to change at all. No matter what some idiotic support student has to say about it.
When Aizawa deems his costume 'hazardous' to his health, Shouto is forced to find help in the support department; Help in the form of a very annoying, very rude, but kind of cute guy.
Izuku is as unwilling to help as Todoroki is to be helped, but he likes a challenge. Besides, maybe, somewhere deep deep down, the 'Ice Prince' isn't as bad as everyone says he is…

Landmarks of Promise
Relationship: Midoriya Izuku/Todoroki Shouto (Tododeku)
Rating: T
Hurt/Comfort, Scars, Implied/Referenced Self-Harm, Established Relationship
Oneshot | 1.1k words
Shouto rubbed the fading scar tissue beneath his thumb. It’s simple skin now, years of healing leaving an almost non-existent white line. Time heals all wounds they say, but Shouto wondered if this little scratch would forever be a tiny road bump.
-
[Or, over the years, Shouto learned about Izuku’s scars.]
ao3 link: here
Shouto had seen all of Izuku’s scars, but he wasn’t familiar with most of them.
He’s familiar with the criss-crosses coating Izuku’s hands like a mangled glove—Shouto couldn’t forget. He will always remember how Izuku looked at him, teeth grit and eyes wild as he yelled in that moment, his hands bruising purple for each broken bone he’d given himself to make a point, and Shouto remembered the view clearly even if the vision in his right eye was hazy with scar and flame.
He suspected he’s familiar with one of the slashes on his body, though Shouto wouldn’t be able to tell which one. Izuku never told him if their fight with Stain had given him any scars, so maybe Shouto was creating a destination on Izuku’s skin that did not exist, not in the same way he witnessed how his hands twisted under the weight of saving Shouto.
The rest, though, began as strangers. He learned the textures of some of them: smooth parallel lines and waxy burns of differing depths but all the same starry shape. There was a history behind each scar, another story Shouto didn’t know, even as he traced the lichtenberg scar on Izuku’s stomach or kissed the ridges on his wrist.
Izuku would tell him about them, sometimes. It started slow and simple.
”I was being kinda careless,” Izuku said with a wistful smile. “I was at home, playing heroes with my mom. I stood on the back of the couch, thinking I’d be okay, and my mom, well, she didn’t even have the time to scold me before I fell off. There was a box there… I don’t remember why—I think it was a package or something? But I hit it and it somehow… did that.”
He glanced towards his feet which were on Shouto’s lap. Shouto rubbed the fading scar tissue beneath his thumb. It’s simple skin now, years of healing leaving an almost non-existent white line. Time heals all wounds they say, but Shouto wondered if this little scratch would forever be a tiny road bump.
Others were tinged with hints of stories he’d originally heard second-hand; raids and internships and battles Izuku was willing to further divulge upon his return from the hospital. In those initial explanations he’d talk about the adrenaline of the moment, blows recounted in that fast-pace manner not quite distant from the heat of battle itself.
It was only in the months after, once day had quieted into night, curtains drawn shut to keep out snooping stars, legs tangled and covers drawn to their chins to muffle their secrets, that Izuku would tell Shouto about them in another way, of the emotions so easy to bury for someone else’s sake, a personal moment rather than one meant for flashing cameras and dazzling spotlights.
“I was scared I wasn’t going to make it after getting that one,” Izuku admitted one of those nights as Shouto traced thick zig zags from Izuku’s collarbone to his waist.
Those words were said more often between the two of them than Shouto would like, for braving the fear of death was the unspoken truth of their chosen occupation, and an undeniable emotion to pair with each battle scar. But that fear never diminished the pride that came after as Izuku, with a soft smile, spoke of a memory of another person saved. As much as fear lingered, the scars were equally badges of honor neither of them would give up.
Most of Izuku’s scars were from battle. Few were from training accidents, and even fewer were from childhood games gone wrong. Yet it didn’t mean much, not when Izuku always had more scars than anyone else their age, from their teenage years to long after they outgrew the dorms.
The collection obtained during their years at UA hid the ones lying beneath, the ones strategically placed on Izuku’s flesh. “I did these,” he had whispered with lingering shame. Shouto had simply cradled his elbow and kissed the healed razor’s edge.
There was another set that Izuku didn’t divulge for the longest time, even long after the confessions of self-harm. The distant constellations on his skin—his shoulder, stomach, back, and calf—were the stories Izuku refused to tell, even long after Shouto knew how those scars had to come about, considering a training accident led to Shouto earning a freshly branded star for himself.
For a while, he wasn’t sure what his silence meant. Maybe it was Izuku’s way of letting Bakugou keep his place, from being incriminated by his past. Or that, somehow, keeping the past unspoken was meant as a sign of forgiveness, or maybe even as a symbol of a quiet grudge Izuku kept locked away from all, including himself.
But eventually, he did tell, on a night they laid side by side after nightmares latched onto every good thing they’ve ever held, reminding them of the wounds they carried between them.
“When he gave me that one he told me to jump off a roof and pray I’ll get a quirk in the next life.”
Shouto set his head on Izuku’s shoulder as if it’s the place he could hear a pulse. Yet, it was too far away for that, so Shouto buried his face into Izuku’s neck and wrapped his arms around his waist.
“Sometimes it feels like that’s what happened that day—to get here, I mean. I’m still afraid one day I’ll open my eyes and realize I jumped off the roof All Might left me on, dreaming of the life I would never get to live before losing the one I had.”
“You’re here.” Lips brushed against sensitive skin, and Izuku shivered in his hands. Shouto squeezed his waist, and drew Izuku closer. Izuku buried himself deeper into Shouto as he clung onto the weight of the present. “I won’t let you go.”
The fabric of his shirt was tugged down further, knuckles dug into the edge of Shouto’s spine. “But if I wake up there and—”
“I’ll catch you. I’ll find you, whatever it takes. You’ll live.” In the past, today, tomorrow, every day after—when doesn’t matter as long as it’s forever. “I promise.”
Shouto’s hand drifted up and traced the roads crawling up Izuku’s back, following his map out of order. Each gentle touch was a draw to a memory, each one painful, but real and unforgettable. They’re landmarks for Shouto’s travels to stay by Izuku’s side, even if it meant their time must go out of order for Shouto to meet Izuku there.
These were the moments Shouto would never know the true depths of, wounds of both soul and bone meant to be carried by one. But he would memorize each for these were the symbols of Izuku’s journey. Wherever the beginning and ending was meant to be, Shouto would find his way there, for that was his vow to keep.

Saw your MHA fic recs post pop up in the tododeku tag and thought I'd try the shameless self promotion thing. I finished a tododeku Fluff and Hurt/Comfort fic in December that you might like!
It's directly post graduation about todoroki and midoriya living together. It includes themes of found family, recovering from trauma, and navigating complex relationships with family members -- as well as some background kiribaku. It's my first fic, but I've had a really positive response to it which I'm so grateful for. If you're so inclined, you can read it here:

I’m so excited to read this you have no idea!!!
Thank you SO MUCH for sending it in 🥰♥️

I know I’m shouting into the void here on tumblr, but thanks for all the love on my very first fic! never expected to come even close to 200 kudos let alone more than that

Summary:
Shortly after class 3-A graduates, Shouto accepts a position at a hero agency other than Enji’s. Despite all his talk about atoning when Shouto was in high school, Enji hasn’t actually changed that much, and Shouto’s decision causes him to be cut off financially by his father.
Now a fresh grad tight on money with no safety net, but finally free from his obligatory ties with his family, Shouto wrestles with the trauma his upbringing left him with and tries to decide how much he wants his family in his life. At the same time, Midoriya really needs a cheap place to live somewhere near All Might’s agency ASAP.

A story about growing up, finding love, and learning to heal from the past.
