Caught up with my the charioteer reread before the deadline when I should be sleeping. Shockingly enough, I have nothing interesting to add:

~ people talking in French so children won’t understand a conversation: relatable, but couldn’t bring myself to learn French properly (yet)

~ bb Laurie and his existential anxieties: so relatable

~ very amusing Laurie can’t spell psychology considering all the (now dated) psychology talk. I bet he thought he was so sophisticated

~ completely forgotten that Laurie being so uninhibited was that explicit

~ the Laurie/Landon scene still feels super oblique, but Ralph gives in far more quickly than I think I realised before? He drops Lanyon and allows himself to be Ralph in front of Laurie in a handful of paragraphs?

~ all the internal school hierarchy/politics stuff still feels like a foreign language I can’t be bothered to learn, except I should bc why do you care so much about these things, Laurie?

~ Lucy and Laurie's single mother of an only child dynamic is sweet. It’s okay to love and be affectionate!

~ what the hell happened to you, Michael Odell. There’s leaving your wife and child for unmentioned trespasses and dropping out of the face of the earth entirely. Laurie needed someone to be playful and silly with. As lovely as the single mother-only child dynamic can be, sometimes it’s too small a bubble; you need a connection with the outside world.

~ did you drink yourself to death over shame and regret over not having fought for your family, Michael Odell? Did you regret leaving just like that?

ETA: never fails to crack me up that Mary Renault describes Laurie as being very pretty when the book starts, goes on he'll peak at eighteen and then will go on to look "nice". Don’t want to get ahead of myself, but still. He just looked nice. Faint praise indeed :/

CBDT amends Income-Tax Act to simplify TCS credit for Salaried Employees

With this amendment, it may be inferred that various such individuals will now have the option to claim TCS credits against tax liabilities. Thus, it will prove particularly advantageous for individuals encountering expenses pertaining to overseas travel and education.

Key Highlights of the Amendment

Claiming the TCS Credits

The amended tax regulations now permit a different individual to accumulate the TCS Credit, apart from the original payer. This reform will enable parents or legal guardians, who have paid TCS for their children’s tuition fees abroad, to transfer the credit to their own tax returns.

With this move, it will now provide flexibility to lessen the financial burden on families.

This enables employees to claim tax collected for their overseas tour package and reduce the TDS burden on their salary instead to wait for the filling of the income tax return that happens only next year.

How can one claim the TCS Credit?

The collectee who made the payment must provide a declaration to the tax collector (such as a bank or institution collecting the TCS). This declaration should specify that the credit should be applied to another person’s PAN.

What do you use to create art? I mostly draw in Procreate on an iPad

What brushes do you use? This is something that changes as I like to switch things up sometimes, but lately I've mostly been using the Shale Brush in Procreate

What canvas sizes do you usually work with? Depends on the drawing, but usually either A4 format (2480 x 3508 pixels) or a square canvas (ca 2000x2000 pixels). As a rule of thumb, I rarely go lower than 1000 pixels on either side. I always use 300 dpi.
