Talking about Minamoto Mom

[tbhk spoilers ahead]

Why is she alive in the new timeline? The clock keepers only changed one thing in the past, the major effects being on the seven wonders and the entity under the red house. Minamoto Mom died of an illness, and unless I missed some important detail, it had nothing to do with the supernatural. She should have died of that illness in the new timeline, but she didn't. Something else must've been involved. Someone must've lied to the Minamoto children about her death, or at least refrained from telling the entire truth.

Hiii I was wondering what you think of the minamotos father? like how he would interact with his kids and his kids friends or something

Obvi we haven’t seen him in canon but I wanna know what you think he’s like based on what we do know of him. I’m curious as to your thoughts since u have rlly interesting interpretations ‼️

Sorry it’s taken me so long to answer this, I do have a lot of thoughts!!

I tend to imagine the Minamoto father as a very stern, serious man. When he does try to spend time with the family it’s very awkward because his friendly side seems very forced. I like to think he can also be somewhat impulsive and aggressive like Kou, and then sadistic and analytical like Teru (Kou is a sadist too obvi but I think he’d be more sadistic in the way Teru is sadistic if that makes sense). He has moments of fondness towards his children, like his excitement over Tiara’s birth, but they’re too fleeting to be anything meaningful. Overall his presence is sort of daunting, and he’s been mostly absent ever since Mama Minamoto’s death. And I do imagine he had a similar childhood to Teru, but unlike Teru he wasn’t able to break the cycle. I have seen some fans suggest that he might be physically abusive aside from the canonical form of abuse we see from him (neglect and endangerment), and I don’t disagree with this take but it’s not something I would add in my fics unless it were explicitly canon

I would like to shoutout my girlfriend’s slightly different but very intriguing take on his character, which is that he’s a well-meaning, genuinely sweet guy that just happens to be a terrible parent. Like he doesn’t intend to hurt Teru, but that upbringing is all he knows. Imo this interpretation is very in line with what we’ve seen of his character in canon
