Green is definitely my favorite color! Then purple comes after. A fave roadtrip activity?? Tbh, just putting on a good playlist and singing along to it the whole drive. I can’t really fall asleep in cars no matter how long the roadtrip, idk why. I’m also more used to doing the driving than being the passenger so im not always sure how to act when i’m just there sitting so singing it is!!! includes: fluff, comfort, low-stakes, slow-burn fics. a wistful look, a rainy morning, an unexpected grace, a stupidly disarming joke. i could live inside these fics. the smallness of human lives removed from the site of that which hurts & irreparably changes. the story-equivalent of a deep breath after a long day. pregnant silences & pensive mundanity & shy smiles. banter with bite but without the cruelty. the color lavender. weirdly whimsical. soft fics are not necessarily conflict-averse (no drarry fic rly can be, considering the context) but, they offer the reader a generous distance from the initial harm. they’re the quiet cleaning up after a storm. sometimes healing is an exacting surgical knife and other times it’s a slow scabbing. you read these fics to be reassured that the way forward is not always ruthless. and honestly?? they deserve a semblance of peace godDAMmit.

The Way Down by @letteredlettered - 65k - T “and I thought that if someone talked to you as though you were a human being you might—maybe you could act like one” --the way i think about this line daily. the characterization of draco in this fic is one my favorites bc he’s earnest and neurotic and tired of harry’s shit. which is to say, he cares so so much. and harry doesn’t know what to do with that bc he’s got a monster in his chest and lives as a recluse. but they both humanize each other in ways no one else can. “you’re just a person” has to be some kind of drarry ethics of belonging and it makes me CRY. -

Little Deaths and How to Avoid Them by @greaseonmymouth and dustmouth - 96k - T “Maybe it’s not about deserving it? Maybe you just get to have it anyway. . .I’m allowing myself to want something and to let myself have it and to fight for it.” --harry runs a daycare and also works at a library. draco spends a lot of time in said library. they bond over sci-fi books and therapy anecdotes and quiet philosophical conversations held over cafeteria soup. and harry’s struggling to understand his asexuality. draco’s learning how to live with anxiety and depression. they both want to be deserving of love. incredible fic with beautiful art by dustmouth. - 

Open for Repairs by @drarrytrash - 35k - T “A few leaves rustle in the gutter and the muggle world pays no mind to them, to two lost boys holding on for dear life.” --all of their fics feel exactly like this. like you’ve been allowed to look at something private, tender, unexpected. draco, known abba fan, is a repairman in the muggle world & harry can’t stop breaking thrifted things in order to see him? say less, i'm thERE. also “I think I have a crush on you” goddddd  - other faves by them: Counting Down By Ten - 2k - T: draco’s stepped outside of the party for a smoke. harry follows him bc of course he does. i could read this 100 times and not get tired of it. - Clouds That Veil the Midnight Moon - 36k - E: FUCKING HILARIOUS I CACKLED THROUGH THE WHOLE THING. draco’s wolfy problem and harry helping him and harry being flustered by how much he likes draco and draco’s hot heroic moment. shutup it’s perfect. “He almost asks if Draco ever gets tired of being a miserable complaining shit all the time, but he knows that he, personally, never ever gets tired of being a miserable complaining shit.” and “It’s the traumas,” Harry says gravely” --lines that live rent free in my head -

Harry Potter and the Future He Doesn't Really Want, Thanks by seefin - 70k - E “That was the only logical thing to do here, wasn’t it? Y don't U like harry styles?

i like his music !! i think his music slaps tbh but i’d never buy anything of his new, i’d get it second hand.

i just think he’s all about the money if i’m honest. he’s stormed his way into the acting industry with no experience and tbh, with not great skills & they’re casting him bc he brings a new audience and he brings more money—they know what they’re doing !! he’s making a ridiculous amount by doing it as well. he’s signed onto a 100 million contract wit marvel. after making 2.5 million pounds (over triple what his co-star made) for don’t worry darling, he continues to charge nearly £400 for his concert tickets which, don’t get me wrong he has a good voice, but he’s performing stadiums as if there small arena performances. where are the theatrics ?? there’s no fireworks, not even confetti, nothing that makes a STADIUM performance any different from an arena performance. but he still charges more. and people are so mad that he won’t “leave america” but LMAO where do you think gets him the most money???? the USA hands down. meanwhile coldplay are putting their whole coldpladussy into their arena & stadium performances. harry literally jumps around the stage & reads people’s signs—i’m not saying his voice isn’t good & that he doesn’t play good music but…he says he wants to give something back to his fans by charging them $30 for nail varnish when most of his fans are young women or teenage girls who don’t have a lot of money to spend. bit tone deaf. idk the acting shit really annoys me as well. but i already talked about that.

5. Talk- man this song just makes me feel a way. it’s so nice. i’ve got so many good things associated with it. Minecraft is the biggest one btw for some reason. Probably bc i listened to this album a lot in 4th grade when i was suuuuuper into Minecraft for the first time. also a coldplay song i relate to in lyrics more than most coldplay songs

4. Violet Hill- VASTLY UNDERRATED. i fucking love angry coldplay songs so much. there’s angrier songs that exist i know. but we’re talking about this band. 

3. Arabesque- mmm best song from Everyday Life  no contest! Half of the song is a saxophone solo! This is a coldplay song I literally made an oc to and unlike some of the others I made when i was 9 my boy stuck around. shoutout to my oc Pixie. yeah bitch you are two angles of the same view

2. Hurts Like Heaven- i have so many good associations w this song. This album came out when i was i think 8 or 9? Like. PRIME age when I was starting to get into art and writing. Which modern artists and songs do you think Jess would be a fan of?

My picks would be Coldplay (Atlas), Cage the Elephant (Ain't no Rest for the Wicked) and Machine Gun Kelly (At My Best).

In terms of genre, I think he would try Latino based, or Pop-funk or K-Pop.

Ahh omg I'm not sure if I'm the best person to ask this because I mostly listen to really old stuff, kpop or lesbian music so.

But! I really think he'd like Mitski, Lorde, Charlie Burg (Bookstore Girl especially would be a very Personal song for him) and hm. maybe the Wallows. I'm really not that well versed in English music so I'm sorry if this answer is lacking 😅

Genre wise I definitely think he'd experiment outside of the usual, he would like One OK Rock which is a Japanese rock band and I think he'd be more into K-indie music (Kpop seems more like a Lane and Rory thing tbh), some examples I can think of are Epik High and DPR. I also think he'd be into BTS' music before they became mainstream, especially since their 2014-2016 sound really fits him (this is totally self indulgent).

FRUITS BASKET S2 EPISODE 7 RECAP AKA ‘TOP TIER FURUBA SHIT’

An accurate representation of me getting ready to talk about this episode. 

My guys... this episode pretty much hit all the points for me in what I expect of a Fruits Basket episode... and more! I loveeee this episode. I gotta admit last week’s episode was a bit of a shoulder shrug for me cos it was mostly a set up for the beach ‘arc’ but this. episode. I have way too many screen caps, I don’t know how I’ll do this. 

And we open up with a big ‘fuck no’. I love the flash forward just to prepare the audience for a whole lot of hurt. Excellent. *pours myself a glass of wine*

- Hiro: “Yeah, yeah, yeah, Mum, just don’t trip over, ok?” Sorry about that guys, I just found out my Mum’s pregnant Everyone: Whaaaaa?!

Hiro’s nonchalance of it all had me dying 😂

I appreciate the ‘dog’ fan. Definitely accurate in more ways than one. Strike one.

Strike TWO. The fact he said that in front of not only Tohru but KISA AND HIRO is so gross. I’m not even joking. It’s just gross. Not a great joke at all. Poo poo.

Wow, Yuki. I actually teared up a little at his realisation. This whole episode should just be called ‘call 999 for these kids’.

Hiro’s mum just sounds like a Furuba fan tbh 😝😂 Also... are the zodiac members born in their animal forms? Or is it just in the first instance they are held by a parent of the opposite sex? Cos if it’s the first option, that’s pretty... messed up. But, theoretically hilarious at the same time!

Ohhhh... Tohru’s one of those people who like to push aside their own problems and focus on other people’s instead... Except, it’s not in an annoying and judge-y way at all. However, I am beginning to question whether she is actually that selfless and the real root of it is that Tohru needs a distraction from her own pain. Either way, it’s sad and I don’t think she’s doing it consciously at all which makes it even sadder.

Oh, Tohru.

Also, appreciation for Momiji being a human backpack at all times. And I love his cat eared hat! I want one! Our Outfit Appreciation Winner this week. 4 stars.

- Kisa/Hiro being a mini version of Kyoru was basically confirmed this episode and I am happy.

Such a gorgeous moment. Pretty much met the feelings and emotions I got from reading this moment in the manga AND MORE. It’s golden. And I love it. ...‘nuff said.

- Kyo being so open and honest and vulnerable with Tohru to a point where he mistakenly already thinks he told Tohru all about his parents already is just... everything to me. Especially from someone like Kyo who’s constantly carrying all this baggage around. But jeez, we always forget that Tohru’s got baggage she’s carrying around too! Tohru and Kyo on surface level look like such opposites in every way but remove some layers and they are so similar, it’s uncanny! 😍🤡

I just love developing relationships. 🥰

- Kyoko definitely wanted to destroy that flowerpot 😈 We love her. We miss her.

He’s so in love with her, I can’t. I’m gonna cry. <3 Also, that expression feels like a very Kazuma expression, is it just me?

This go around of Fruits Basket has made me realise how much I relate to him and his position in the family. Every anime has a character that’s in their twenties and just... tired and I always relate best to them, shoutout to Keishin Ukai from Haikyuu.

Even though I hate Akito, I have an appreciation for the subtle shit the animators/designers do whenever they come onto screen. All of Akito’s actions have a kinda feather-lightness/almost ethereal feel to them and the way Akito is contrasted against not only the scenery but the other characters around them is... so gooood. I’ve already talked about how I love the emphasis on the presence of Akito in their first appearance in the anime but... I’ll still be talking about it cos it’s great. And I can’t wait to hear Colleen Clinkenbeard in this ep, but Maaya Sakamoto was stellar in this episode (fun fact: did you know she also played Haruhi in OHSHC?!?).

But yeah, I still hate Akito. Sorry.

- Kisa’s little sigh of relief that Tohru doesn’t have to meet Akito was already HEARTBREAKING but mixed with this moment....?!?!

- Kinda sad that Kyo and Tohru had the house to themselves but there was so much weird and bad energy in the air that they couldn’t even really enjoy their pancakes :(

- That Akito and Shigure and Hatori (and partially Kureno) scene just really... disgusted me. To see someone have that much power in their touch and their words is... freaky and unsettling. And I love it cos it’s interesting but I also hate it soooo much. I have nothing more to say about it besides that really. I was more interested in the Shigure and Hatori moment afterwards...

That’s a nice way of putting it...

Maybe this was to be taken mostly as a joke, but do you think that Shigure actually wants Hatori to remind him how much of a shitbag he’s being? Most of my problem with Shigure (and why I actually liked 2001!Shigure but let’s not go there again) is that out of everyone in this series, he’s the most untouched. And yet he schemes and manipulates and seems to get everything he wants. AND what makes it even worse and annoying and spectacular, is that Shigure’s little nudges and pushes of the chess pieces which are the zodiac members aren’t so obvious to the extent that you could only blame him for it. It’s almost genius, if it weren’t so repulsive. 

*sighs* I just really want him to either repent or feel some kind of guilt afterwards. 

...Hence why I’m most interested in where he’s at after the end of this all.

All I want is a scene between him and Tohru, somewhat like this:

...Ok, this moment made me like Shigure just by 5% more this episode. Still trying to figure out that Shigure/Akito relationship literally a decade later tho...

BACK TO SOME KINDA HAPPY(?) STUFF!

I love love love love love this moment between Yuki and Tohru. It was gorgeous!

I wish this scene were longer so I could make an AMV (if I really felt like it) with Coldplay’s ‘A Sky Full Of Stars’. The lyrics match the moment so much and I definitely cried.

Oh, Yuki...

It was such a beautiful way to end this episode. Wow.

And Yuki’s words to Tohru that ‘she’s just like the sky’ has so many meanings to it and I want to go into it but I’ll start really explicitly going into spoilers. So, I’ll just leave it as poetic cinema.

God, this was such a good episode, guys! I’d probably put this episode on the same level as the True Form episode. It gave us furuba shenanigans, it gave us kyoru, it gave us disgust and hurt and it gave us a moment of someone rising out of the ashes!

Music has always been important to me, and in a way it feels cathartic to connect to my favorite characters, and ultimately my friends through music! So I have to say THANK YOU both Sam and Sky for creating these headcanons and I only wish I had listened to all of these songs sooner!

I am in love with One Ok Rock now. I am honestly upset that I didn't know of them before now. I was probably more into this kind of sound starting from early to mid 2010s, too. Funny thing, I listened to three songs of theirs that made me go, "instant fan!!!" before realizing that I did not even listen to "Wasted Nights" yet, and this was Sky's listed song for Taichi.

Taka is my new music bae. You think he is Taichi’s too? xP

All the bands mentioned have high energy songs that can get the blood pumping and adrenaline going for a workout (even Maroon 5 has plenty upbeat songs to help burn off some cardio), so I see why Taichi would have them in his playlist.

From this playlist, I got a sense that Taichi is unapologetic of who he is as a person - courageous, free-spirited, can cause mischief (”I’m trouble, y’all!!!”). He lives life to the fullest but he also reminisces about his childhood, which also includes his Digital World adventures. Also, there are a handful of songs that talk about nostalgia but I can’t help but think “1999″ started the playlist for a reason. :D

i love that even from what i’ve watched of her earlier stuff on emmerdale her wardrobe has always seemed v gay to me…..like her signature combo of jumpers w/ a buttoned shirt underneath….as a lesbian who loves jumpers + wearing multiple layers i feel v Seen by her wardrobe. i’ll admit some of her jumper/shirt combos are a bit questionable to me + that green jumper/white shirt combo that she wore for like…..2 weeks during the kidnapping haunts me BUT still 

also as much as i relate to the layers i Love when she just wears a simple top….specifically would like to petition the costume department to let her wear more stripy tops like this!! a Soft Look

What is a song that reminds you of your ex? Sparks by Coldplay is the one that stands out the most. But to be honest, so much of my music taste had been shaped by her - Hozier, alt-J, The xx, Rhye, Coldplay, etc., and so it sucks because I can’t listen to any of those artists now without feeling like shit, or cringing. The variety of music I listen to these days has drastically dropped because of it and tbh I only ever listen to Paramore or Hayley Williams anymore; because of this, I’ve been trying to explore music that I can discover for myself and to build up my own music taste.

Do you own a pair of aviator sunglasses? No but my mom and sister do and I borrow stuff from them all the time.

Have you ever got all the way to the mall and forgot all your money? Thank fuck I haven’t. I thought the exact thing happened to me last Sunday when I went to the mall, but my wallet just turned out to be buried deep in my bag lol. I was ready to drive out of my parking spot and begrudgingly make the entire trip home but fortunately I was able to feel my wallet at the last second.

Can you name the last time you felt happy? Yesterday was a good day, but I believe I’ll feel happy again tonight because I’m going out for samgyup with Andi, hahaha. I haven’t seen them since March.

Who’s birthday will you be celebrating next? It’s the day after said samgyup date with Andi and I’m happy to confirm that I did feel very happy last night. :) Anyway, it will be my dad’s birthday and we’re set to take a quick vacation to Tagaytay for it since that’s the only place we can go that’s a bit far and doesn’t require swab tests. 

What was the last fast food place you ate at? I have not actually sat in a fast food place to dine in for years; but my last fast food was I think Jollibee? My parents bought meals for us for dinner a few weeks ago.

Did you put The Notebook for your last answer? God no, that movie was pretty cringey. It was mostly the script’s fault; I really wanted to give the whole movie a chance because I love Rachel McAdams, but the screenplay was just bleck.

Will you ever be happy with your weight? Or are you already? I’d love to gain some pounds so I can hit the triple digits since I feel like that would be a much healthier weight for me. But I also never felt the need to complain about only swinging within the 90-95 lbs range since becoming a teenager.

Can you remember the last time you played with hot wheels? I guess when I was 8 or 9, when I still lived in my childhood home with my cousins.

I’m still in school! Well I basically committed to another 2 years in a master’s program. I’ve always been kinda a school nerd haha. I’m grateful for education because it’s given me a lot and I love science.

I live in LA, so its a darn crime that I’m terrible at it. The only times I’ve been successful were when friends in my car helped me out.

A job you had that would surprise people?

Hmm...my jobs over the last couple of years have all involved working outdoors doing field work, usually with plants. Currently I work on a restoration project in the Angeles National Forest. On my last job, I got to help reintroduce a beaver into a canyon and wow that was wild. She may have escaped once.....

Do you think aliens are real?

I would never disregard the chance, considering how vast out universe is and how much is still unknown. Are we really all that’s here?

Can you drive manual?

Nooooo. But I’m always proud/amazed by a few friends that can.

Watching animal crossing vine videos which are nothing short of masterpieces.

Tattoos?

I have two...and probably will get more but I have them in somewhat concealed places so far. One for Coldplay’s song Yellow, which is a moon with clouds/stars. Another with my pen pal from hs, which is an envelope (that some confuse for an ‘email’ symbol but that’s ok).

Love deep dark blues and greens. And I wear a lot of yellow sometimes.

Oof! I guess I mainly listen to alternative/indie rock. All the bands or songwriters I listen to stemmed from falling in love with Coldplay those many years ago. I’ve branched out a lot and always love suggestions from friends. I definitely love some good old guitars with sassy vocals (like Young the Giant and Hunny) or more layered jams (like Foals and Wolf Alice). Idk what I’m talking about tbh...

Things people do that drive you crazy?

I don’t like when people drag others down because of their own insecurities. Also not a fan of people being inconsiderate of others!! Apathy really really annoys me.

Sometimes! I have one friend who I will specifically make plans to do a puzzle with because she really loves them.

Not formally, but I am afraid of being swept up in the ocean sometimes...

First thing you wanted to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a vet when I was a kid because I love animals. But I grew up and realized it would make me sad! Props to those who pursue.veterinary medicine tho!

The Masked Singer Season 3 Episode 14: The Quarter Finals (Commentary & Guesses)

Hello fellow Masked Singer fans! It’s that time of the week aka Ana’s Masked Singer recap time, with your typing host Ana, because nobody else will do it for me haha. We are truly getting down to the wire with only 5 masked contestants left (well 4 after we are done here with this recap lol). So, again, we will be honoring the judges with some trophy emojis because they are getting there and I am kind of shook, but this time I am also gonna give the judge with the worst guess ever a poop emoji because it was a horrible guess. Yes, I am having too much fun with this, let me enjoy my moment. I think I am gonna call the segment “Panel Spotlight.” Ok, so having said that, let’s get started! (Disclaimer: Spoilers ahead, proceed with caution.. don’t say I didn’t warn you)

Alright, so let’s start with the elimination/mask coming in 5th place was:

THE KITTY 

Ok, so this one was also pretty upsetting, but at this point I knew this was going to happen even though I was hoping Rhino would go home instead. The only person I am like really routing for is Turtle at this point (I also really miss Astronaut so I am still sad over that elimination) so whatever I guess. However, I don’t think she should’ve gone home. Her performance of Back to Black by Amy Winehouse was really great, even though it wasn’t her best performance. Anyways, I did know who she was ever since the Super 9 and I was sure... 

Having said that, Kitty was revealed to be...

JACKIE EVANCHO

Alright so yay the Internet convinced me and I got it because of them, thank you Internet! I kinda love you... sometimes. Anyways, if you don’t know who Jackie is, she was on America’s Got Talent when she was 10 as an opera singer and became one of the most successful & youngest platinum musicians ever. Now, she’s almost 20 which is insane and 10 years later full circle moment with Nick Cannon. Anyways, she really killed it as the Kitty, singing not just opera but all types of genres and killing it. Wow, yup, her voice is insane, we are the same age and she is so freaking talented, I can't even. I am so excited to see what the future holds for her. Anyways, here are the new clues that made sense for it to be her:

Clue package, traveling through St.Petersburg, Japan, the Vatican, etc. = all places Jackie has performed 

Somewhere over the rainbow= performed it on Oprah’s TV special in 2011

After Performance clue this time was a “borrowed package.” Hers contained a Bow & Arrow= she is a talented archer as well as singer (this is news to me but I looked it up)

Now time for the PANEL SPOTLIGHT: 

Nobody got the 🏆 because the judges were so clueless.

However, the worst guess aka the 💩 was the guest judge, comedian Jeff Dye, who said “one of those Olsen twins.” I gave it to him because he couldn’t even distinguish which one & the Olsen twins don’t make sense with all of these clues. 

Alright, now we have our top 4 contestants, woo hoo! These are our semi-finalists, my guesses, and commentary, let’s do this: 

1. The Frog 

Performance: Yeah, I’m sorry, I just am not a big fan of Frog. He switched up last week and it was better than his normal stuff, but he just reverted to the same thing again and it’s getting annoying. This time, he performed Bust a Move by Young MC. 

Guess: Bow Wow 

Clue package, calling his “little frog” = he has a 9 year old daughter 

French Bread on the ground = he has a song named Long Bread

Falcon Figure= Atlanta Falcons (where he lives & he is a fan of them) 

Borrowed Package= Model Airplane= The Bow Wow Challenge from 2017 when he faked going on a private jet & was caught in a normal airplane and a challenge was born on the Internet about this

Now time for the PANEL SPOTLIGHT:

Yay! Robin Thicke caught on! He gets the 🏆 for guessing Bow Wow. 

On the other hand, the worst guess aka the 💩 was of course Mr. Ken Jeong, who guessed Derek Hough?! What?! His logic for that guess was way off and Derek Hough cannot rap like that (but it would be cool for Derek to be on the show tho) 

2. The Rhino 

Performance: Ok, so he sang “You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling” by the Righteous Bros and it was impressive. This is another one of his best performances. It was a very romantic version of this song and he played into the romance. Also, you could hear some rasp to his voice that shows some versatility, I really really enjoyed this one wow. I think I might have been underestimating Rhino’s performance ability. 

Guess: Barry Zito 

In the package, he said that he had struggles before meeting his wife= he was a bad boy in baseball & his wife straightened him out to be a man of faith.

Ok so this one is gonna be surprising because nobody said it but somebody was close. Surprisingly, Ken was close so I am going to give him the 🏆 for mentioning JAG when seeing the Navy hat clue, so let’s give him some kudos there.

Tbh, none of the guesses were absolute 💩 so we are going to skip this one for the Rhino. 

3. Night Angel 

Performance: Ok, so not a fan of the Night Angel either (she is way too inconsistent for my liking), but this was probably one of her best performances so far, if not her best performance. She sang “Last Dance” by Donna Summer and the song choice was perfect for her voice. I really liked this performance too, wow this episode is actually pretty good performance wise (except for Frog, but whatever)

Lipstick = has a makeup line & final studio album of Xscape was called Traces of my Lipstick

"Say Baby I Love You”= hint to her writing for Destiny’s Child

Columbia on a map= her first studio album was recorded in Columbia Records

Nobody caught on this episode so nobody gets the 🏆.

On the other hand, I also can’t give a 💩 to anyone because the guesses were pretty tame & okay. They didn’t hit the mark, but they weren’t overly horrible. 

4. Turtle 

Performance: Best for last, baby! The show allowed him to perform Fix You by Coldplay for last, because he is the best & nobody could tell me otherwise. Ok so now that I have professed my love for the Turtle, I just wanna say dude this was one of his best performances (I still think his best one was his first one when he sang “Kiss from a Rose”). The song gave me chills, it was so good. It was raw & emotional, you could really feel all the words he was singing. Best performance of the night 1000%!!

Yay! Nicole finally caught on! She gets the 🏆 for guessing spot on Jesse McCartney even though her reasoning was a bit off & kinda weird.

On the other hand, the worst guess aka the 💩 was again our guest judge with the ever so terrible guess of Norman Reydus. This is so far off, it’s almost laughable.

7. what do you enjoy daydreaming about most?

on god? this is actually a hard question JNHGFTRD but like why daydream about being with my boyfriend all the time when i can actually see him irl? 😳😳😳 it’s either that or being home after a long time at university but one of the ones that are hard to come by but are rlly nice to receive are when i have good ideas for my creative writing and i’m able to reply to my friends with posts! i used to daydream a LOT more often when i had more time to myself, but now that i’m so busy nowadays i can’t really catch a break ): i kinda miss it too. hopefully i’ll get to slow down in the summer!

12. name a song that makes you feel ethereal.

ugh oh man this takes me back a little 😔 tbh i can name a few! not to name the same artist twice, but i really like “U.F.O.” and “the escapist” by coldplay. definitely a band i grew up with in grade school so they’re near and dear to my heart, and i still enjoy the ambiance a lot given that they were songs i liked to listen to while i was the only one in the house left awake at night since they helped me feel at peace. a song with a band i definitely listen to more often would have to be “astronaut” by gregory alan isakov. i love the gentle nature of the song and i’m just a big fan of isakov in general (i have merch so it’s a pretty big deal)!! that and the message is just beautiful thanks to how much of a wordsmith he is.

21. do you believe in mermaids?

HONESTLY i like to! when i was younger i was interested in the “documentaries” that i believe animal planet came up with saying that instead of how they were unrealistically sparkly and pretty and belonged in an 8 year old’s bedroom that they definitely took inspiration from the obyssey and turned them more into predators. it made it seem realistic to a littler me and i thought it was AWESOME. so it’s like... sort of how i feel about how sasquatches are most likely out there, but a little bit less? it can go either way for me imo!

25. what’s a song that gives you good vibes any time you listen to it?

DEFINITELY “the great escape” by woodkid without a doubt!! it was a really long time ago where i was given an assignment to burn 10 songs onto a CD that was a representation of myself, and this was the first song i played when i presented it because i just knew that it was like my happy song! it has a really good connotation with it because the professor told me afterwards in a note that i need to make as many moments for myself as i can and i need to care for myself as much as i do for my friends because that’s what i deserved and i just... 🥺 it makes me miss that a lot. it’s helped me honor myself as a person much more and realize that i don’t have to be giving and giving and giving until i didn’t have anything left all the time.

28. name a book you don’t mind reading over and over.

the “his dark materials” trilogy by philip pullman! i am currently on and off on my 3rd or 4th read... LOL i’ve just always loved the concept of fantasy and alternate universes and writing inspiration so that just absorbed into me like a sponge the first time i found it. it’s my favorite and it’s near and dear to me (plus there are gay angels and the concept that gods are not immortal or guiding to lesser beings in it which ultimately guides individuality 😳). i would highly recommend!
