a 4-part rec list of my fave drarry fics - the thrillers, dramas, soft bois, and wankbanks getting me through 2020′s shitstorm

part 3: soft bois

mood: for when I need respite, a balm to the all-consuming shittiness of life

includes: fluff, comfort, low-stakes, slow-burn fics. a wistful look, a rainy morning, an unexpected grace, a stupidly disarming joke. i could live inside these fics. the smallness of human lives removed from the site of that which hurts & irreparably changes. the story-equivalent of a deep breath after a long day. pregnant silences & pensive mundanity & shy smiles. banter with bite but without the cruelty. the color lavender. weirdly whimsical. soft fics are not necessarily conflict-averse (no drarry fic rly can be, considering the context) but, they offer the reader a generous distance from the initial harm. they’re the quiet cleaning up after a storm. sometimes healing is an exacting surgical knife and other times it’s a slow scabbing. you read these fics to be reassured that the way forward is not always ruthless. and honestly?? they deserve a semblance of peace godDAMmit.

The Way Down by @letteredlettered - 65k - T “and I thought that if someone talked to you as though you were a human being you might—maybe you could act like one” --the way i think about this line daily. the characterization of draco in this fic is one my favorites bc he’s earnest and neurotic and tired of harry’s shit. which is to say, he cares so so much. and harry doesn’t know what to do with that bc he’s got a monster in his chest and lives as a recluse. but they both humanize each other in ways no one else can. “you’re just a person” has to be some kind of drarry ethics of belonging and it makes me CRY. -

Little Deaths and How to Avoid Them by @greaseonmymouth and dustmouth - 96k - T “Maybe it’s not about deserving it? Maybe you just get to have it anyway. . .I’m allowing myself to want something and to let myself have it and to fight for it.” --harry runs a daycare and also works at a library. draco spends a lot of time in said library. they bond over sci-fi books and therapy anecdotes and quiet philosophical conversations held over cafeteria soup. and harry’s struggling to understand his asexuality. draco’s learning how to live with anxiety and depression. they both want to be deserving of love. incredible fic with beautiful art by dustmouth. -

Open for Repairs by @drarrytrash - 35k - T “A few leaves rustle in the gutter and the muggle world pays no mind to them, to two lost boys holding on for dear life.” --all of their fics feel exactly like this. like you’ve been allowed to look at something private, tender, unexpected. draco, known abba fan, is a repairman in the muggle world & harry can’t stop breaking thrifted things in order to see him? say less, i'm thERE. also “I think I have a crush on you” goddddd - other faves by them: Counting Down By Ten - 2k - T: draco’s stepped outside of the party for a smoke. harry follows him bc of course he does. i could read this 100 times and not get tired of it. - Clouds That Veil the Midnight Moon - 36k - E: FUCKING HILARIOUS I CACKLED THROUGH THE WHOLE THING. draco’s wolfy problem and harry helping him and harry being flustered by how much he likes draco and draco’s hot heroic moment. shutup it’s perfect. “He almost asks if Draco ever gets tired of being a miserable complaining shit all the time, but he knows that he, personally, never ever gets tired of being a miserable complaining shit.” and “It’s the traumas,” Harry says gravely” --lines that live rent free in my head -

Harry Potter and the Future He Doesn't Really Want, Thanks by seefin - 70k - E “That was the only logical thing to do here, wasn’t it? It was the next step, it was the end of hurting each other and the beginning of the exact opposite.” --harry lives with luna and neville and also he dreams about the future sometimes? and he keeps running into draco. draco thinks this is sus as hell, until he doesn’t. feat. taxi rides, museums, cinemas, rooftop conversations beneath a lunar eclipse, mid-sex innocuous banter, draco and harry discussing nicki minaj. this fic charmed my ass off. seefin writes the most effortlessly hilarious dialogues. i smiled at my phone like an idiot at least 7 times. - other faves by them: Wild - 93k - E: “he liked feeling needed, for the things that he was needed for back at the house in Ireland. For cooking and gardening and driving. Easy things.” --this shit makes me cry it’s so good. harry lives in Ireland with these three brilliant, hilarious, wandless witches and draco’s a potions student who's come to study under one of the housemates and the boys have so much shit to work through but their love becomes so tender and honest. draco yells at harry a lot and harry lets him and they both keep each other grounded in something real and fuCK. - Divination for Dickheads - 7k - G: “I’m terrible at having crushes. I’ve never played anything cool a day in my life.” -- oh harry, we knOW. a bus ride, a fortune teller, an aquarium birthday party. god i love this fic. -

Modern Love by @tackytigerfic - 61k - E “But we’ve worked so hard at this, haven’t we? Yeah, I know it’s a horror to have to talk about it, but fuck it. We’re friends now, but it took so long to get here. Have you ever had to work so hard at something before?" --the steady blossoming of their friendship in this fic is so goddamn beautiful i want to yell. it’s draco and harry learning to trust each other and the whole thing unfolds so slowly, in this whimsical mix of london streets, wizarding politics, church halls feat. a Hot vicar, and a magical antique shop owner who’s married to literal poseidon?? goD the environment of this fic. immaculate. [also there’s a tender shower scene that makes me cry every single fucking time so if you read this fic pls dm me so we can be embarrassing about it together tbh] -

Nice Things by aideomai - 22k - M “He kept waiting for the weird shock of touch to not knock him clean out of his head, leave him quiet and warm and happy.” --8th year. harry forms an unlikely friendship with draco that begins with smoking weed on a windowsill. harry is touch-starved and draco touches him like he touches all his close friends - like it’s easy. the quiet affection in this fic, the way harry burrows himself into touch bc he’s been without it for his entire life. reading this is like being held. -

Running On Air by @tinyhistory - 74k - T “do you remember when we were eleven?” --alexa play coldplay’s the scientist it’s sad girl hours and we’re about to fucking yearn. you’ve seen this fic rec on every drarry list under the sun and i'm here to be redundant. the hype is so goddamn real. this story is a lyrical masterpiece held together by lines that act as refrains that will rattle around your brain until you die, probably. draco’s been missing for 3yrs. harry goes to find him. it’s their odyssey of homecoming. -

Title of Their Sex Tape by @cibeewastaken - 12k - T “But Draco, Draco was everything but boring. Draco made sitting in the rain watching an empty house fun.” --auror partners pining and draco being eccentric and harry being very earnestly gay about draco’s eccentricities!! god this fic is so genuinely fun skskd feat. undercover missions, murderous faeries, a book heist, a stunning navy dress, harry’s eyelashes. -

How We Throw Our Shadows Down by @thistle-verse - 14k - T “Draco is about to say something else— to thank Potter for what he’d done, however poorly— but Harry is smiling at him again, and it’s so soft and perfect that Draco holds in any inadequate words, lest he spoil it.” --draco collects tea cozies and of course harry has the one he wants. the sad and tender gays are at it again feat. conversations in the rain at a train station, melancholy Blaise, muggle photos, wizarding e-bay, the Dursleys. -

Helix by Saras_Girl - 92k - E “Draco sighs in his sleep and Harry clings on to consciousness, needing to hold on, to give this tiny, insignificant moment the attention it deserves” --I think maybe you can describe every soft Saras_Girl story as giving tiny, insignificant moments the attention they deserve. like, this is an 8th year fic about snails and it’s full of whimsy, grief, compassion, and easy humor. an absolute must-read author in this genre if you want languorous, episodic fics full of distinct OCs and affectionate creatures. - other faves by them: Light up the Night Sky - 98k - M “Draco, sometimes you make my head feel like soup” --the one where harry is a fireworks artist and has a pet chameleon named ken. draco is on the wizarding arts council. they both pine like hell. - Headlights in the Snow - 71k - M “they stare at each other in silence, Harry’s heart beating so loud in his chest that he thinks the biddies must be able to hear it over the sound of their card game.” --the one where draco drives the knight bus and carts around the biddy club, a group of rambunctious old ladies who knit and drink tea and gossip. harry can’t help but fall in love with the everything about this. -

Follow the Water by @xanthippe74 - 38k - T “Harry’s heavy thoughts lift at the sight, like dark clouds blown away from the sun by the wind. The tent doesn’t feel so cramped and stifling now. It feels cozy. And safe. It’s the same feeling that Harry gets when he’s at the Burrow for Sunday roasts, when a group of people who care for each other deeply are crammed into too-small a space.” --harry wanders to the lovegood house on a sunday afternoon. he’s baffled to see that luna’s taken pansy, greg, and draco under her wing. what follows is a summer of forest walks, scavenger hunts, gardening, water fights, odd cakes, faerie rings, and picnics. so many picnics. i love the pace of this fic, the innocent return to childhood things, the way luna brings out the best in all her friends. reluctantly soft slytherins are just *chefs kiss*!! -

Going Postal (A 125pg comic) by dustmouth - T what. a. beautiful. ass. comic. the wizarding fashion, the textures, the character design!! harry travels a lot for his job as a resourcer. draco works in the regulations dept. they pine like a bunch of lovesick idiots via field report notes. god i love dustmouth’s art. -

All the Earnest Young Men by @tepre - 29k - E “Draco is twenty-seven layers of personality wrapped up in drama and humour, and a wit so sharp it still stings when he doesn’t see it coming. But there is something below that, too. Something that makes Harry ache just looking at him.” --the way i would lay down my little life for tepre’s characterization of draco, whom invented the word earnest. he’s a magical art theory expert and portraits are disappearing all over London and harry’s the auror assigned to this case. and well. they’re both so very avoidant about how gay they are for each other and it’s like!! shutup and kiss!! which they do in fact, shutup and kiss. -

Trenches by sara_holmes - 3k - M “Somewhere in the distant part of his mind that hasn't frozen solid, he thinks that maybe he and Draco are about to become more than auror partners, smoking buddies, wine-mates and co-inhabitants of a snow filled trench somewhere in western Scotland.” --the plot line here is literally “it’s cold and i need a fucking cigarette” but let me tell you how I never tire of the shared loaded-silences of two emotionally repressed gays. -

The Years Before Love by lomonaaeren - 13k - M “That’s one of the meanings of peace, he thinks, as Hermione hugs him...That he can do things slowly, softly, without worrying that they won’t be there tomorrow.” --andromeda taking harry under her wing and harry finding solace in teddy. narcissa and draco showing up and the tentative relationships that slowly develop in the quiet calm of andromeda’s house. found families and kisses in the snow and special xmas gifts ugh what’s not to love -

The Moon Looks Lovely Tonight by Omi_Ohmy - 35k - M “I want this to be a house where people are welcome, where they don’t have to be any one way or another” --in which harry collects lost things--owls, best friends, inept bakers, potions experimenters--and turns the mausoleum that is grimmauld place into a home. feat. your fave drarry tropes like shared-beds and reluctant waltzing partners. -

i like his music !! i think his music slaps tbh but i’d never buy anything of his new, i’d get it second hand.

i just think he’s all about the money if i’m honest. he’s stormed his way into the acting industry with no experience and tbh, with not great skills & they’re casting him bc he brings a new audience and he brings more money—they know what they’re doing !! he’s making a ridiculous amount by doing it as well. he’s signed onto a 100 million contract wit marvel. after making 2.5 million pounds (over triple what his co-star made) for don’t worry darling, he continues to charge nearly £400 for his concert tickets which, don’t get me wrong he has a good voice, but he’s performing stadiums as if there small arena performances. where are the theatrics ?? there’s no fireworks, not even confetti, nothing that makes a STADIUM performance any different from an arena performance. but he still charges more. and people are so mad that he won’t “leave america” but LMAO where do you think gets him the most money???? the USA hands down. meanwhile coldplay are putting their whole coldpladussy into their arena & stadium performances. harry literally jumps around the stage & reads people’s signs—i’m not saying his voice isn’t good & that he doesn’t play good music but…he says he wants to give something back to his fans by charging them $30 for nail varnish when most of his fans are young women or teenage girls who don’t have a lot of money to spend. bit tone deaf. idk the acting shit really annoys me as well. but i already talked about that.

but like who you like besties. that’s my opinion, and you don’t have to agree or disagree. if you enjoy him and his music then nothing should stop you from doing that.

TOP 5- WEEN

5. Don’t shit where you eat- oooghhh just a nice easy listening song

4. Hey There Fancypants- ashamed to say i haven’t listened to Quebec all the way through but I’ve listened to most of it and idk! I just like fun sillygoofy songs. also there’s this fan music video that was uploaded on youtube in like 2006? And it’s so fun, im not a music video person im a “i make my OWN imaginary mvs in my HEAD and OCCSIONALLY on paper” but i like that music video so so so much

3. Ocean Man- I mean this song was my introduction to Ween so yeah ofc its on here lol? And also that it’s just a great song Lol?

2. Transdermal Celebration/Buckingham Green- I’m not cheating by putting 2 in one slot bc these songs both itch the same part of my brain that likes epic ween songs that for some reason I associate almost exclusively with Terraria bc I listened to them at around the same time I was getting back into terraria in 2019 lmfaooooooo

1. Waving My Dick In The Wind- IM NOT BEING IRONIC ABOUT THIS. This is 1000000% genuine this is my favorite ween song of all time and always has been and more than likely always will be. Tbh it’s in my top 3 fav songs of all time i’ve ever liked from any artist. It’s got memories attached to it. It’s one of my favorite songs to play on guitar. This song is literally like a part of my being. Yeah bitch i AM waving my dick in the wind. You really SHOULDVE seen ol jimmy wilson dance. If it all goes right i’ll be in your arms tonight. yeah bitch

yes it is a little funny having Coldplay wedged between lemon demon and ween but i’ve been listening to coldplay nonstop since i was born and that’s not an exaggeration. My great grandma bought my parents a cd of Parachutes around when I was born

5. Talk- man this song just makes me feel a way. it’s so nice. i’ve got so many good things associated with it. Minecraft is the biggest one btw for some reason. Probably bc i listened to this album a lot in 4th grade when i was suuuuuper into Minecraft for the first time. also a coldplay song i relate to in lyrics more than most coldplay songs

4. Violet Hill- VASTLY UNDERRATED. i fucking love angry coldplay songs so much. there’s angrier songs that exist i know. but we’re talking about this band.

3. Arabesque- mmm best song from Everyday Life no contest! Half of the song is a saxophone solo! This is a coldplay song I literally made an oc to and unlike some of the others I made when i was 9 my boy stuck around. shoutout to my oc Pixie. yeah bitch you are two angles of the same view

2. Hurts Like Heaven- i have so many good associations w this song. This album came out when i was i think 8 or 9? Like. PRIME age when I was starting to get into art and writing. I made several ocs to this song. It means just so much to me. the whole album does tbh. It was the first concert I went to and it was one of the best experiences of when i was that age

1. Viva La vida- i mean what would I be saying about myself if it wasn’t high on the list anyway. Genuinely the best Coldplay song I think. Not even remotely controversial i think but still

4. Spiral Of Ants- SONGS THAT MAKE ME CRY one time i wrote about the emotional impact this song has on the album as a whole for a school project. i wonder if i still have it saved somewhere. i hope i do

Bill Watterson- NUMBER ONE CATCHIEST SONG EVARRRR and its about STALKING THE CREATOR OF CALVIN AND HOBBES yknow there’s this music camp i go to every summer and next year is the first year i’m gonna be a counselor, and all the counselors and volunteers get to perform a song on their own during one of the lunch periods in the week and ik its about 11 months away but i think this is the song im gonna play. its so much fun to play. whip out a guitar right now and look up “bill watterson lemon demon chords” its so good on the ears

2. Eighth Wonder- top most feel good songs ever tbh. more songs need to be exactly like Eighth Wonder. this is what i want my music to be like when i make music. if you arw Mad. -_- Okay if you are Hate Eighth Wonder -_- Okat BUT We are not fighting :3

1. The Ocean- THIS IS A SONG ABOUT ME. BTW. if my dna and brain matter were cloned to be put into an analyzer that could turn dna and brain matter into a song it would just come out with The Ocean by Lemon Demon again.

I’m calling it “suburban horror” but theres gotta be an actual name for it right

4. Come Along by Cosmo Sheldrake- not to brag but listen ive liked cosmo sheldrake since like 2017. i dont even use tiktok. apparently one of his songs was mega popular on tiktok for a bit. i wouldnt know i dont use tiktok MY POINT IS this song fucks. top 10 songs i make imaginary animations to

3. I Palindrome I by They Might Be Giants- if Ween, Lemon Demon and Coldplay are the 3 artists that mean the most to me, TMBG is the 4th of those artists. shoutout to every other TMBG song but this one’s here bc it’s the one i’ve been listening to the most lately. catchy. i love it

2. Income Tax by P’tit Belliveau- my mom showed me this song a few months ago and i don’t speak a lick of french but yeah bro. J’fais rinque d’avoir mon income tax return. sometimes i just go around the house and all i’ve got in my head is “J’fais rinque d’avoir mon income tax return Tonight we gonna watch it burn” and if you listen to it the same thing WILL happen to you

I have two requests coming up! One is based on a Shawn Mendes song (I’m not really a fan tbh but the song is actually something I can work with!) which I’m going to combine with jealous Bruce I think.

And then I have another one where reader is a singer Bruce has a crush on and I know the requester asked for her to sing Coldplay but that song is destroyed for me bc of Glee (fuck Will Schuester honestly. Emma deserved so much better) so idk if you’re out there anon lmk if you’ll be upset if I change it? I like the concept otherwise though and if you’re really dead set on that song I’ll make it work.

Which modern artists and songs do you think Jess would be a fan of?

My picks would be Coldplay (Atlas), Cage the Elephant (Ain't no Rest for the Wicked) and Machine Gun Kelly (At My Best).

In terms of genre, I think he would try Latino based, or Pop-funk or K-Pop.

Ahh omg I'm not sure if I'm the best person to ask this because I mostly listen to really old stuff, kpop or lesbian music so.

But! I really think he'd like Mitski, Lorde, Charlie Burg (Bookstore Girl especially would be a very Personal song for him) and hm. maybe the Wallows. I'm really not that well versed in English music so I'm sorry if this answer is lacking 😅

Genre wise I definitely think he'd experiment outside of the usual, he would like One OK Rock which is a Japanese rock band and I think he'd be more into K-indie music (Kpop seems more like a Lane and Rory thing tbh), some examples I can think of are Epik High and DPR. I also think he'd be into BTS' music before they became mainstream, especially since their 2014-2016 sound really fits him (this is totally self indulgent).

He'd also reject all tiktok hits and top 40s songs on principle. And he hates that songs are bundled and remixed like a 1000 times, he thinks it ruins the sanctity of the art lol.

BASICS

Buttercup Amanda Shepard, usually goes by butters because her name is a mouth full and she’s often asked why she doesn’t go by her middle name since it’s “normal” but she likes her first name, it’s unique. So the flower itself symbolizes humility and childishness and I think that sums her up pretty well. They were her mother’s favorite flower(i’m also a ppg stan but I digress)

She’s 29 at the start and 32 by the end, her birthday is may 27th making her a gemini! She likes to read her horoscope when it pops up in her extranet news feed but she doesn’t take it too seriously. She’s an engineer! Generally, despite growing up on a farm she’s scared of pigs, she’s fed them before and almost fell into their pen during it and her grandfather teased that if she wasn’t careful they’d eat her too.

as for deepest darkest fears it’s losing her grandparents, she’s already lost her parents she wouldn’t want to lose them too.

FRUITS BASKET S2 EPISODE 7 RECAP AKA ‘TOP TIER FURUBA SHIT’

An accurate representation of me getting ready to talk about this episode.

My guys... this episode pretty much hit all the points for me in what I expect of a Fruits Basket episode... and more! I loveeee this episode. I gotta admit last week’s episode was a bit of a shoulder shrug for me cos it was mostly a set up for the beach ‘arc’ but this. episode. I have way too many screen caps, I don’t know how I’ll do this.

And we open up with a big ‘fuck no’. I love the flash forward just to prepare the audience for a whole lot of hurt. Excellent. *pours myself a glass of wine*

- Hiro: “Yeah, yeah, yeah, Mum, just don’t trip over, ok?” Sorry about that guys, I just found out my Mum’s pregnant Everyone: Whaaaaa?!

Hiro’s nonchalance of it all had me dying 😂

I appreciate the ‘dog’ fan. Definitely accurate in more ways than one. Strike one.

Strike TWO. The fact he said that in front of not only Tohru but KISA AND HIRO is so gross. I’m not even joking. It’s just gross. Not a great joke at all. Poo poo.

STRIKE THREE. Akito... please come get your dog. It’s the only useful thing you can do rn anyway

Wow, Yuki. I actually teared up a little at his realisation. This whole episode should just be called ‘call 999 for these kids’.

Hiro’s mum just sounds like a Furuba fan tbh 😝😂 Also... are the zodiac members born in their animal forms? Or is it just in the first instance they are held by a parent of the opposite sex? Cos if it’s the first option, that’s pretty... messed up. But, theoretically hilarious at the same time!

Ohhhh... Tohru’s one of those people who like to push aside their own problems and focus on other people’s instead... Except, it’s not in an annoying and judge-y way at all. However, I am beginning to question whether she is actually that selfless and the real root of it is that Tohru needs a distraction from her own pain. Either way, it’s sad and I don’t think she’s doing it consciously at all which makes it even sadder.

Oh, Tohru.

Also, appreciation for Momiji being a human backpack at all times. And I love his cat eared hat! I want one! Our Outfit Appreciation Winner this week. 4 stars.

- Kisa/Hiro being a mini version of Kyoru was basically confirmed this episode and I am happy.

Such a gorgeous moment. Pretty much met the feelings and emotions I got from reading this moment in the manga AND MORE. It’s golden. And I love it. ...‘nuff said.

Oh look, Dad’s here too 🤣

- Kyo being so open and honest and vulnerable with Tohru to a point where he mistakenly already thinks he told Tohru all about his parents already is just... everything to me. Especially from someone like Kyo who’s constantly carrying all this baggage around. But jeez, we always forget that Tohru’s got baggage she’s carrying around too! Tohru and Kyo on surface level look like such opposites in every way but remove some layers and they are so similar, it’s uncanny! 😍🤡

I just love developing relationships. 🥰

- Kyoko definitely wanted to destroy that flowerpot 😈 We love her. We miss her.

He’s so in love with her, I can’t. I��m gonna cry. <3 Also, that expression feels like a very Kazuma expression, is it just me?

But anyway... just cos we can’t have anything good for too long...

Tbh if I knew a Shigure, that’d be how I’d start every conversation.

I love Hatori. :) I mean he wouldn’t actually slice his gut open but it still means a lot to me that he said he would...

This go around of Fruits Basket has made me realise how much I relate to him and his position in the family. Every anime has a character that’s in their twenties and just... tired and I always relate best to them, shoutout to Keishin Ukai from Haikyuu.

Even though I hate Akito, I have an appreciation for the subtle shit the animators/designers do whenever they come onto screen. All of Akito’s actions have a kinda feather-lightness/almost ethereal feel to them and the way Akito is contrasted against not only the scenery but the other characters around them is... so gooood. I’ve already talked about how I love the emphasis on the presence of Akito in their first appearance in the anime but... I’ll still be talking about it cos it’s great. And I can’t wait to hear Colleen Clinkenbeard in this ep, but Maaya Sakamoto was stellar in this episode (fun fact: did you know she also played Haruhi in OHSHC?!?).

But yeah, I still hate Akito. Sorry.

- Kisa’s little sigh of relief that Tohru doesn’t have to meet Akito was already HEARTBREAKING but mixed with this moment....?!?!

I just really need someone to explain to me how you could like Akito. Even after the ending of this whole series. Like...

- Kinda sad that Kyo and Tohru had the house to themselves but there was so much weird and bad energy in the air that they couldn’t even really enjoy their pancakes :(

- That Akito and Shigure and Hatori (and partially Kureno) scene just really... disgusted me. To see someone have that much power in their touch and their words is... freaky and unsettling. And I love it cos it’s interesting but I also hate it soooo much. I have nothing more to say about it besides that really. I was more interested in the Shigure and Hatori moment afterwards...

That’s a nice way of putting it...

Maybe this was to be taken mostly as a joke, but do you think that Shigure actually wants Hatori to remind him how much of a shitbag he’s being? Most of my problem with Shigure (and why I actually liked 2001!Shigure but let’s not go there again) is that out of everyone in this series, he’s the most untouched. And yet he schemes and manipulates and seems to get everything he wants. AND what makes it even worse and annoying and spectacular, is that Shigure’s little nudges and pushes of the chess pieces which are the zodiac members aren’t so obvious to the extent that you could only blame him for it. It’s almost genius, if it weren’t so repulsive.

*sighs* I just really want him to either repent or feel some kind of guilt afterwards.

...Hence why I’m most interested in where he’s at after the end of this all.

All I want is a scene between him and Tohru, somewhat like this:

...Ok, this moment made me like Shigure just by 5% more this episode. Still trying to figure out that Shigure/Akito relationship literally a decade later tho...

BACK TO SOME KINDA HAPPY(?) STUFF!

I love love love love love this moment between Yuki and Tohru. It was gorgeous!

I wish this scene were longer so I could make an AMV (if I really felt like it) with Coldplay’s ‘A Sky Full Of Stars’. The lyrics match the moment so much and I definitely cried.

Oh, Yuki...

It was such a beautiful way to end this episode. Wow.

And Yuki’s words to Tohru that ‘she’s just like the sky’ has so many meanings to it and I want to go into it but I’ll start really explicitly going into spoilers. So, I’ll just leave it as poetic cinema.

Perfect.

God, this was such a good episode, guys! I’d probably put this episode on the same level as the True Form episode. It gave us furuba shenanigans, it gave us kyoru, it gave us disgust and hurt and it gave us a moment of someone rising out of the ashes!

Music has always been important to me, and in a way it feels cathartic to connect to my favorite characters, and ultimately my friends through music! So I have to say THANK YOU both Sam and Sky for creating these headcanons and I only wish I had listened to all of these songs sooner!

I am in love with One Ok Rock now. I am honestly upset that I didn't know of them before now. I was probably more into this kind of sound starting from early to mid 2010s, too. Funny thing, I listened to three songs of theirs that made me go, "instant fan!!!" before realizing that I did not even listen to "Wasted Nights" yet, and this was Sky's listed song for Taichi.

From this playlist, I got a sense that Taichi is unapologetic of who he is as a person - courageous, free-spirited, can cause mischief (”I’m trouble, y’all!!!”). He lives life to the fullest but he also reminisces about his childhood, which also includes his Digital World adventures. Also, there are a handful of songs that talk about nostalgia but I can’t help but think “1999″ started the playlist for a reason. :D

i love that even from what i’ve watched of her earlier stuff on emmerdale her wardrobe has always seemed v gay to me…..like her signature combo of jumpers w/ a buttoned shirt underneath….as a lesbian who loves jumpers + wearing multiple layers i feel v Seen by her wardrobe. i’ll admit some of her jumper/shirt combos are a bit questionable to me + that green jumper/white shirt combo that she wore for like…..2 weeks during the kidnapping haunts me BUT still

also as much as i relate to the layers i Love when she just wears a simple top….specifically would like to petition the costume department to let her wear more stripy tops like this!! a Soft Look

What is a song that reminds you of your ex? Sparks by Coldplay is the one that stands out the most. But to be honest, so much of my music taste had been shaped by her - Hozier, alt-J, The xx, Rhye, Coldplay, etc., and so it sucks because I can’t listen to any of those artists now without feeling like shit, or cringing. The variety of music I listen to these days has drastically dropped because of it and tbh I only ever listen to Paramore or Hayley Williams anymore; because of this, I’ve been trying to explore music that I can discover for myself and to build up my own music taste.

Do you own a pair of aviator sunglasses? No but my mom and sister do and I borrow stuff from them all the time.

Have you ever got all the way to the mall and forgot all your money? Thank fuck I haven’t. I thought the exact thing happened to me last Sunday when I went to the mall, but my wallet just turned out to be buried deep in my bag lol. I was ready to drive out of my parking spot and begrudgingly make the entire trip home but fortunately I was able to feel my wallet at the last second.

Can you name the last time you felt happy? Yesterday was a good day, but I believe I’ll feel happy again tonight because I’m going out for samgyup with Andi, hahaha. I haven’t seen them since March.

Who’s birthday will you be celebrating next? It’s the day after said samgyup date with Andi and I’m happy to confirm that I did feel very happy last night. :) Anyway, it will be my dad’s birthday and we’re set to take a quick vacation to Tagaytay for it since that’s the only place we can go that’s a bit far and doesn’t require swab tests.

What was the last fast food place you ate at? I have not actually sat in a fast food place to dine in for years; but my last fast food was I think Jollibee? My parents bought meals for us for dinner a few weeks ago.

Did you put The Notebook for your last answer? God no, that movie was pretty cringey. It was mostly the script’s fault; I really wanted to give the whole movie a chance because I love Rachel McAdams, but the screenplay was just bleck.

Will you ever be happy with your weight? Or are you already? I’d love to gain some pounds so I can hit the triple digits since I feel like that would be a much healthier weight for me. But I also never felt the need to complain about only swinging within the 90-95 lbs range since becoming a teenager.

Can you remember the last time you played with hot wheels? I guess when I was 8 or 9, when I still lived in my childhood home with my cousins.
