You know what, for both Hobi and Yoongi's tour I put on my clown makeup and I will say that they probably skipped Europe (& Australia & South America & a bunch of other places) because they don't have time for it. Unless they announce more shows later, it seems like Hobi's tour will end before Festa.

But! If the ot7 tour skips Europe or they only have a <5 nights (not stops, nights) here, then that's deliberate and 100% on the company. Smaller kpop acts (compared to BTS) came to Europe in 2024 and will come here in 2025 to tour and they are probably not losing out on money, so hybe can throw in those Europe dates too. And bigger non-kpop acts also came here so it's really not that hard. And I don't think hybe of all companies should worry about the costs of touring in Europe...

we are witnessing the starbucks boycott working, and although it is yet to be stated whether that is making anyone on the upper level rethink their bullshit, they have been losing billions !!! of dollars.

i think people will be like "but i don't want to hurt BTS as people," and i hear that, but i also do not genuinely think a boycott would. they are literally fucking millionaires, and it is so hard to not get on my "i don't respect millionaires or believe they have the right to exist" soapbox when i do love them so much, but i also don't think they need our money, especially right now. especially because some (if not most) money can't go to them while they are in the military anyway (although i did see something about how the artist collection proceeds still might since it was initially sold before??? idk. still they are fucking millionaires.)

at the end of the day, we can only do what we can. if you can only boycott so much, you can only boycott so much. it takes time and effort to radicalize to the point of cutting out so many unnecessary things what we deem as "necessary." but it is possible. your money does make a difference, and wouldn't you want that difference to be good? and if you do have a moment of weakness, it is important to continue to stay the path and do not let guilt make you feel one way or another. we all make mistakes but the important thing is that we try.

just watched the apple music interview with jk and one part that stuck out to me was when the interviewer pointed out the beautiful cityscape beyond the windows and how they were currently on the 19th floor of this incredible building that bts' career built but that they (bts) had started out there on the ground level, amongst everyone else, in the streets. except they were actually even lower than that, no? lower than the ground, literally underneath it in that cramped and wet basement of the first building where the mirrors used to fog up so bad while they practiced they could barely see themselves and sometimes it would flood when it rained. where mold flourished on the walls and they habitualized saving their work on the computer every few minutes just in case the power went out, as it often did.

it's just truly so impressive (understatement). it's a story we're all familiar with and yet it always makes my breath catch a little to really think about in full, to reflect on just how far they've come.
