i like to think if sejanus had lived that he would have taken coriolanus the fuck down. yes he’s the sweet boy, but he’s also the boy that exploded into a fit of rage due to watching children be forced to murder each other and snuck into the arena. sejanus is a fighter. he saw it coming from the capitol, but not from his best friend, his brother, coriolanus. i like to think that in another universe, sejanus looked coriolanus dead in the eye while bringing the capitol to its knees.

In Can't Catch Us Now, are Wovey and Bobbin like they are in the movie? Wovey has Down Syndrome and Bobbin's right arm is amputated. I really liked their portrayals in the movie so I was wondering.

When I picture the characters, I do picture them as the actors that portrayed them in the movie because I think that they did such an amazing job, so that is how I'm writing them as. So yes, Wovey and Bobbin are their movie counterparts.

A nod to my previous post of the Saltburn x Tbasos AU

Okay so in the last post I discussed about the parallels between Oliver Quick as Coriolanus Snow Felix Catton as Sejanus Plinth but in this one I just wanna make more of a silly hc post and assign other characters from TBASOS as the rest of the cast from Saltburn

Farleigh Start

I feel like Farleigh would honestly be Festus Creed like…look at Farleigh’s sassy attitude and I feel like their mannerisms when it comes to speech are quite similar. For instance the way they kind of “pause” and “elongate” words. And movie wise (not book wise since in the book he’s definitely empathetic to an extent) I remember him saying this one line “Only the vulgar eat with their fingers, Felix. Daddy not teach you table manners?” And the way the line was delivered too gave me so much Farleigh vibes😭😭 again with the elongated words, slight pauses with some sort of a playful tone that rolls off the tongue which I feel both of them have in common

Venetia

For Venetia…I feel like it is a bit quite complicated to compare her to a character in Tbasos since Venetia is a character whose “mental state” we’re aware of, such as her battle with bulimia and her extremely low self esteem that drives her to a somewhat “erratic” behavior.

But on a superficial level I have thought of something a lil bit silly…I have a comparison and yall are NOT gonna like it😭(I don’t either but I giggle at this so much yall don’t even know im kicking my feet behind the screen this is just for funsies…)

(I’m literally giggling so hard this is the most unhinged, far fetched thing I’ve ever said in my life but I hope someone sees the vision a bit…😭 p.s…do yall think Gaul was spitting up unhinged bars even as a teen ??)

I KNOW THIS IS CRAZY ASF COMPARING A LITERAL WAR CRIMINAL THAT EXPERIMENTS ON ANIMALS AND HUMANS TO A LITERAL RICH “TEEN” who struggles with mental health and the mental abuse of a mentally unavailable mother etc BUT…once again…a reminder that this is on a SUPERFICIAL LEVEL.

the only similarity I see between them is their way of speech. they have some sort of “poetic” yet playful way of talking that leaves mystery in the air.

my toxic writer trait is I will talk about a really interesting premise and people will get excited for it and then I never write the story to go with it

Warning(s): This is a modern AU, Coriolanus and Lucy Gray are dating, the Covey is referred to as a legitimate family, before any of you start complaining, note that Barb Azure is canonically apart of the LGBTQ+ community. I'm sorry - the Covey are hard to personify other than Lucy Gray and Maude Ivory :'). I tried my best with the other three.

Pairing(s): Coriolanus Snow x Lucy Gray Baird

Coriolanus fidgets nervously as he enters the daunting and spacious shopping mall he entered. Today he was going to be spending Christmas Eve with his girlfriend and her family for the first time, and Tigris said it would be a good idea to get them all gifts. Obviously he met the rest of the Covey household, but something as serious as Christmas Eve required certain preparations.  

He looked at his list scanning his eyes over the list of people he needed to get gifts for.  

Gift List:  - Lucy Gray  - Maude Ivory  - Barb Azure  - Tam Amber  - Clerk Carmine 

Coriolanus deadpans. He had a long way to go. 

Walking from store to store, he finally finds a store that he thinks Lucy Gray will like something from – deciding to start from the top of the list. Alas, nothing was in the store, none of the bright ornaments and baubles seemed to be of anything the colorful girl would like.  

Sighing, he moves on, before a paperweight glass piano studded with sparkling pearls catches his eye. The blond man smiles, knowing the charismatic ivory loving girl would be ecstatic over the small thing.  

Eyes trailing back to Lucy Gray’s name, he sees a guitar store across the mall, just on the other side of the hallway, making his way inside. 

But again, there was nothing that seemed to be worthy of Lucy Gray’s attention. But, on the rack, Coriolanus saw a bass pick with the pride flag on it, picking it up, knowing Barb Azure would accept it happily. As shy as the woman seemed, Coriolanus knew she was coming out of her shell more often, talking about the girl she was seeing with a small grin on her face. 

As one can expect, he didn’t have much luck in the other stores, in pursuit of a gift for his lover. In a hat store, he found a feathered and classy hat for Tam Amber, as well as a quality (but expensive) pack of rosin and a tuner for Clerk Carmine’s fiddle, but to no avail did he find anything for the woman that stole his heart. 

Heart sinking, anxiety squeezed his heart, what Snow, no- what boyfriend couldn’t find a gift for his own girlfriend?!  

Seeing a jewelry shop just around the corner, he entered, deciding that if he couldn’t find anything in here, he’d just give up.  

The door opened with a jingle, a woman looking up from behind the counter and smiling warmly before noticing the bags in his hands.  

“Christmas present shopping?” she asks, tilting her head slowly. 

Coriolanus scratches the back of his neck sheepishly before agreeing with the statement. “Yeah...” 

“Cutting it a little close, are we?” she chuckled, before motioning him closer. “I have a few that I’ve been keeping off display for customers like you.” 

She shows him a selection of necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, and even a few watches, but his eyes settle on a pair of earrings with bejeweled doves dangling from each of them, the cool white light of the store reflecting off of them, making the gems reflect all sorts of colors. 

It was poetic in a way, it reminded him of something Lucy Gray had said to him. 

“You're mine and I'm yours. It's written in the stars.” 

The stars, shining brightly in the sky, reminded him so much of her, just as the gorgeous pair of earrings did.  

“I’ll take these.” he said, pointing to the dove earrings.

guys….hear me out. tbasos x saltburn au where Coryo is Oliver Quick and he basically “eats his way up” to the rich and felix is Sejanus. Felix loved Oliver, he loved him and all he wanted to do was help him which I think parallels Sejanus wanting to help Coriolanus start his “new life” as a peacekeeper since we all know Sejanus could’ve kept living in the Capitol, protected by Strabo Plinth but he joined Coryo as a Peacekeeper, a place where Capitolites were sent to only if they had committed a major crime as a way to comfort him, to know that he’s not alone (well he also did that because he wanted 2 be a medic but that isn’t really relevant rn!). The idea is that both characters, Coriolanus and Oliver had a counterpart they were jealous and envious over because of their financial status and wanted to be one of them so bad while being irrevocably in love with them to the point that they doomed them to death and stripping them of all of their privilege and making it their own.
