[ID: the first three images are zoom ins from the last image, described next: a digital drawing with various sketches of mustelid species. They were drawn with marker textures over a math grid. They're all next to their respective reference image, which is a little transparent. From lefto to right and top-down, a pine marten that looks like it's smiling with its mouth open; a stoat that is closing its eyes and looks disappointed, below, there's a note in Spanish that says "no puede ser" (translation: it cannot be); a sea otter in the water, lifting its front paws and looking up, looks like its cheering something or someone; a stoat in its winter coat, looking to the left with its eyes halfway closed; a giant river otter in the muddy water, giving a side eye; three river otters curled up together in the shape of a heart, and lastly, a tayra pup in a front view, the text besides it says "Tayra chiquito <3" (translation: little tayra"). End ID.]
More practice, this time some mustelids

Phylogenetic weasel tournament
Family: Mustelidae
Subfamily: Guloninae
Genus: Pekania, Eira
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Despite the name, the "fisher" is not known to eat fish. The name is instead related to the word "fitch", meaning a European polecat (Mustela putorius), due to the resemblance to that animal and comes from colonial Dutch equivalent fisse or visse.

The tayra, also known as the Eira barbara, is a fascinating member of the weasel family found in Central and South America's forests. Known for their agility and intelligence, tayras are adept climbers and hunters, often preying on birds, rodents, and even small mammals.

Happy pride everyone!!!
here's some mustelids i drew with that scan style i've been trying
ID: a digital drawing that features eight members of the Mustelidae family colored with some lgbtq+ pride flag colors. From left to right, there's a yellow-throated marten with the non-binary flag colors, the flag is besides it as an impact onomatopoeia; a tayra painted with the aromantic flag colors, and some sparkles and stars besides it; a ferret with the trans flag colors, and a little trans flag near its paws; a marbled polecat in the asexual flag colors, and a little heart and ace of spades; an ermine with the bisexual flag colors and two hearts over its head; a long-tailed weasel in the lesbian flag colors with some impact onomatopoeias and sparkles around it; a pine marten with the male gay flag, a line over its body and two little hearts near its paws, and a sea otter in the pansexual flag colors, as well as three hearts near its head. End ID.
