there was nothing special about the seventh of july, holiday speaking. but ever since taylor swift seemed to release her version of her speak now album, people have made it a tradition to post their partners to the song “mine” on the seventh of july.

of course, you weren't going to beg your boyfriend to post about you. you knew better than that! but you decided to leave some not-so-subtle hints for him.

both of your phones kept playing the fifteen second clip of it whenever either of you opened instagram. it was starting to piss suna because he can't really hear anything else besides that—hell, even his for you page on tiktok got consumed by that song!

“hey, rin. it feels nice to be posted on mine. it's cute.”  you say, as you admire the post your friend did for you (at least they would post you; your boyfriend is another story). this was attempt number one—not so slick, if you were to be honest.

he only hums in reply. attempt number one: a fail.

attempt number two was a bit more natural than the last. “oh my god! rin, did you know these two were dating?” you asked him, showing him your screen. it was someone you both knew���someone who was apparently with someone you didn't expect to be with. (though suna could only care less because he doesn't really remember the guy.)

rintaro raises his eyebrow, taking in the details of the instagram story being shown to him. “oh? good for them.” was all he said. attempt number two: another fail.

you didn't really even bother trying for attempt number three. only because you didn't want to embarrass yourself further in front of your boyfriend. he doesn't want to post about you? then so be it! it's just a simple trend anyway.

but the next morning you woke up to a notification of rintaro mentioning you on his story—where it was a candid picture of you with mine playing.

Hi. I'm really sorry to bother you with this but I just need to scream about this.

I'm a mixed Asian Jew. After October 7th, just like everyone else, I've had to ignore the rampant antisemitism everywhere, especially in fandoms. Recently, I've noticed something that has really been scaring me and making me a million times more anxious.

I used to be very active in Kpop fandoms. Yes, I am aware Kpop fans are crazy but I used to have my circle of friends that were pretty chill. Obviously I had to unfriend all of them lol.

This is not unique to Kpop fans. Beyoncé fans were angry when her movie aired in Israel. Taylor Swift fans were angry when her movie aired in Israel and so forth. However this is very scary. We can't just brush this off as "well they're crazy stans" or "yk how people on the internet are". This is going to harm us. This CURRENTLY harms us. I'm just so disturbed and angry.

It gets worse: when a Kpop boyband worked with an Israeli producer on a recent album, people were furious and wanted to boycott it. Obviously and thankfully they failed because they stan these people so hard but still. It's so fucking insane. None of this is normal.

Yeah it is not normal and very much jew hate. Whilst I'm not into kpop anymore, I used to be a fan back in 2015 - 2019 and I still get videos reccomended on my fyp on tik tok related to kpop. I have seen a lot of just vile antisemitic stuff on top of a fan cam. Which whilst sucks, is a tiny bit funny.

My favourite video i've seen from kpop stans (sarcastic) is when they will be a BTS stan, then spit some shit like "Israelis aren't civilians because they serve in the military" cause like, cool bestie your bts boys aren't civilians either by the same logic, yet you still support them.

I looked at that tweet and yeesh. "aparthied state" like idk how to tell these people, but their faves work for companies which are more focused on overworking their idols and bringing in money rather than supporting Palestine.

Like you said, these people stan so hard they forget, and after the war is over, they will still support Hybe and other companies.

And you are so right, we cannot just brush people off as crazy stans. Whilst obviously not every single kpop stan is like that, at least from my exposure to the scene, people are not really calling it out. When deranged behaviour is not kept in check by the wider community, more and more people do said deranged behaviour.

TAYLOR SWIFT at the 81st Golden Globes Awards on January 7th 2024 in Los Angeles wearing GUCCI

Everyone was waiting for Taylor to arrive, and I for one was wondering if her look would be a hint at what's to come from her career. And, as usual, she surprised us all.

I was one of many who thought that she'd wear something that would be wearing black, or a look to hint that reputation (Taylor's Version) was coming. Instead she wore green, which might be hinting that debut is coming? As I'm writing this it's after the 2024 Grammy's, where she announced her new album, The Tortured Poets Department. So who knows what message this green dress is showing, either way Taylor looks phenomenal.

I really loved the simplicity of the look. The green sequins were beautiful, and looked amazing on Taylor. The dress was very simple and Taylor kept the accessories to a minimum, except for the gorgeous earrings. I thought this was a really great look from her.

Also, I think everyone is glossing over the fact that the Golden Globes created a category to be able to nominate Taylor. Like this is the first year of the film achievement award, and even though Taylor didn't win, it might've been a very savvy move by the Golden Globes to get her to the event.

The fact that Taylor always fades into her eras, much like how reputation tour ended with color, but Taylor was playing electric guitar at the end of 1989 shows. Very rock esque, yes?

This iconic moment via a Vogue interview a couple months after the 1989 would tour ended, in 2016 over a year and a half before the release of reputation. “Karma is real”.

Not to mention the “bleachella” look that originated because of a vogue covershoot in April 2016. It is assumed that this covershoot was supposed to be PR for “Karma” the album, because reputation won’t come out til October of the next year. -Due to the punk/rocker vibes of all her public outfits during this era.

She was born in Brazil and she lived there until she was 7. Her mom is Latino and her dad is black. She speaks fluent Portuguese. Her family, especially her father's side, are VERY religious. She has an older sister, younger brother and sister (who are twins). In England she lives in London with her family. They were quite poor. They lived in a small apartment. They lived close to their grandparents from the father's side. They were old very religious and conservative. And I hc that Mary is a trans woman. She didn't realise until her second year at Hogwarts. McGonagall was the one who made it possible for her to transition. However when she was coming back for summer she would have to make herself look like a boy, so her family won't know. They were the kind of people that would most likely beat her up for it. Her dad was obsessed with toxic masculinity. He would make Mary do typically "masculine" stuff when she was younger. She was trying to suppress her femininity most of the time she was home, but it didn't work. Most of her summer she was miserable. She couldn't get her transition potions and would be constantly deadnamed and misgendered. She only came out to her family at the end of 7th year when she knew she wouldn't come back. She wrote her family a letter. She was hesitant to send it, but Marlene and Lily changed her mind.

She was very feminine. Her favourite colour was pink. She absolutely LOVED cherries. Her favourite band was ABBA. She loved heels, makeup, dresses and all the stereotypically girly stuff. Her best friends were Lily, Marlene and Sirius. She would also hang out with other marauders a lot. She was in the dorm with the marauders for the entire first year.

She was very extroverted. She loved parties and dancing. She was a people person. She was very popular. Most people found her at least pretty (though not everyone wanted to admit that they were attracted to a trans girl, cause yk, it was the 70s).

Regardless of all that she also got bullied a lot. She was a muggleborn, dark-skinned trans girl. That was the "perfect" target for Mulciber, Avery etc. They would pick on her, call her slurs and stuff like that. They also would call her sexist stuff for having a lot of relationships with guys (sl*t, wh*re, etc.). Marlene would regularly curse them for it. She was assaulted by Mulciber at the end of their 5th year (it needs to be talked about more btw). Mulciber was "expelled" from school after that, but his family was very influential and he got back.

She was bisexual. Her first crush on a girl was Marlene, but she was too scared to admit it. She also had a crush on Lily in like 4th/5th year, but she didn't confess to her.

In the 5th year she met Emmeline. Em was tutoring her for the OWLs (she was a year above). They both developed a huge crush on each other. They started dating in Mary's 6th year. They were actually adorable.

She didn't want to take part in the war. She definitely could fight, but she didn't want to. She was scared of losing all of her friends.

After the war her and Emmeline wanted to get custody of Harry, but Dumbledore was a stupid d*ck.

Between wars she was trying to reach out to Remus. He was living with Emmary for a few months after Halloween in 1981. They got a lot closer.

She also became friends with Amelia Bones and Emma Vanity (Em's besties)

She didn't want Emmeline to fight in the second war. They argued about it a lot. When they last saw each other Emmeline promised to be careful and that Mary had nothing to worry about. But she didn't come home. In the morning Mary found out that she got killed. She considered obliviating herself, but she stayed for Emma.

After the war they would lift each other up. They were good friends and each other's reason to still stick around.

If she lived today she would like 2000s music, doja cat and artists like that. Her favourite Taylor swift album would be 1989.
