Wyll forgetting that his gf/wife is undead had endless opportunies for fun.
She's his personal taste tester, since she's immune to poison. It started as a joke between them but when she said "wait actually hold up don't eat this" he's halfway to calling for a medic before she reminds him the reason she does this is because it doesn't effect her.
Australis will sometimes tap in time to his heartbeat on his back when they're laying together. He tries to do the same, but spends a long awkward time trying to feel a pulse or anything to follow, forgetting that her heart hasn't beat for 35 years.
In the summer months theyre all tangled up in eachother (Austri is like if "I hope both sides of your pillow are cool" was ur gf) but in winter she's Freezing to the touch and is sometimes asked to sleep on top of the blankets so she stops slipping her tail up Wyll's shirt in the night.
There's more bouncing around in my brain

Hey so I'm losing my mind and have a ton of BG3 fics I want to write but I haven't the foggiest where to start. SO please vote. Synopses under the cut!
No bald option I just need direction
Origin (Australis) - an introduction to my Tav, Australis, and her life prior to her stint on the Nautiloid. All the worst she's done, and the blood on her hand she's hoping to hide.
Quest : Save Mayrina - in the Hag's Lair, Australis makes a cruel decision and finds herself justifying it to a horrified Wyll, and reveals one of her secrets to him.
Not Alone Beyond The Grave - Astarion tries to feed on Australis, and it does *not* go well.
To See Yourself - Australis saves Arabella, and has an uncomfortable moment of reflection in her discussion with the girl and her parents.
A Moment of Respite - Austri sneaks away from the party with Wyll, and have a discussion about heroism.
Epilogue - What happens to Australis and co after the events of the game, following her search for a cure to Astsrion's vampirism and a way out of her pact, once and for all. 2 parts.
Companion Quest - Australis' companion quest, with alternate endings. Might fuck around and make it in one of those little choose your own adventure game makers, for the roleplay potential
I'm normal about this, can you tell.

Australis Ionos
The Gem of the Mountains
I'm so so proud of her, as a character. Genuinely one of my favorites to have played and written. So, to celebrate my first completed playthrough (132 hours), have some screenshots!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She is far and away my most beloved character, and after decades of exhaustion, preying on wizards and those gifted with arcane knowledge, her next quest is simple - find a way to cure Astarion's vampirism, and find a way out of her pact without her body crumbling to dust.
Spoiler alert but Austri breaks her pact bringing Astarion back to life, killing her and binding her soul to her demilich patron. With a magical ring and a little guidance from a very, very old camp mate, Astarion is able to wish Australis back. And he's freed her. Freed of the infernal magic that had twisted her into a tiefling, freed her of the pact that had bound her and freed her of her decades of undeath. She's back, as she would have been had nothing bad ever happened to her.
Being resurrected like that, truly resurrected into a new body is excruciating for her, having gone so long without the hammering of a heartbeat and a chest expanding with each necessary breath. And while she's initially beyond pissed off that Astarion dragged her back from her sacrifice for him, she can't find the words to express what this new chance at life might mean for her.

^ shes so unbothered by Ansur possessing her her patron does this all the time sometimes she just falls back and her eyes start glowing and the gang are like ah shit here she goes again. She's normal about being given orders too, if you believe it/j

My 2 most recent D&D characters are like this and I love them for it!!! Rant abt them below, PLEASE send me asks about them someone anyone please
Boreal and Australis were half-elf twin children whom their mother ultimately handed over to her childhood friend to care for after a devastating loss and subsequent grief meant she was unable to care for these rambunctious kids for a few months. She had affairs to get in order, and had to process her own grief before she could rededicate herself to parenting the twins.
The friend was, unfortunately, part of a nasty little cult in the town and its surrounds, and with Australis and Boreal they had new subjects to test their infernal learnings on. Over the span of months, caged and near starving, the twins were flooded with so much of this horrific magic that their features began to twist.
When Aurora came by to retrieve her kids, in their place were two terrified, bony tiefling children just relieved to see a friendly face.
Aurora was horrified. She couldn't bring these children back to the village, they'd be hunted and killed. If she cried out about the network of cultists, they'd finish the job with the twins and kill Aurora, too. So she faked the deaths of her children, and kept them hidden in the house.
Their perception of magic really formed here, as did their thoughts on their own new found monstrosity.
For Boreal, he suddenly found the lack of attention bothersome. Like he wasn't good enough anymore due to his horns and cold blue skin. His self-worth had been entirely dependent on praise he received from his sister, his peers, and those in the village. Now, he had none of it. Plus, any time his mother cast a simple spell in the confines of her locked up home, it would send Boreal into hysterics. Digging through his mother's old books, he picked a God (being Helm, God of Protection) and started praying. Praying to fix him, to make him something good enough to be wanted and loved.
Australis was similarly upset by her transformation, but rather than shying away from magic that so terrified her brother, she wanted to know more. If she could understand what had happened to her and her brother, maybe she could undo it. Her parents old spellbooks were a good place to start, but she began sneaking out to get access to darker books, watching rituals with a sort of detachedness that was uncommon for someone so young.
Australis is caught sneaking out by a neighbor, who is terrified of this small demon skulking through town at night. He tries to kill her, and terrified she runs into the house and wakes Boreal and Aurora, with the neighbor bolting in after her, weapon drawn to protect Aurora from not one, but 2 of the little terrors. There's no time - they have to flee. The twins, with their terrified mother in tow, flee up the mountain and find a remote town.
Aurora doesn't make it. She's human, and a sickly one at that. Though the teenaged tieflings manage to assimilate into their new environment , a tiny village made mostly of other outcasts, by making themselves useful, animosity continues to grow. Resentment.
As far as Boreal is concerned, Australis is practising dark magic and is the reason they had to leave their town (even, as Australis points out, if it has become just another prison) and the reason they lost their mother. He detests her for this, for uprooting their lives, and he begins to tell the other villagers that his sister has him under some sort of spell, and that she means them harm. Boreal was incredibly charismatic and beyond helpful, so the townsfolk were more inclined to trust him over his distant sister.
With Boreal egging them on, Australis is exiled from the village for use of dark magic and conspiring to bring ruin to the town. It's horrible for Australis, to be betrayed by her brother, the one person she thought understood her considering his misery regarding his condition fuelled her research. But no.
Australis fled higher up the mountain, content to die.
Boreal is hailed as a tragic hero. Finally, he feels worth something. That, plus his devotion to Helm leads him to become not just the town healer, but the towns protector, too. He's come to terms with his own """good""" magic granted to him by his patron God, and only spells he casts are ones he will tolerate. However the natural praise that came from the odd acts of good he was able to perform weren't enough. He had to be needed, he had to be loved despite his monstrous appearance and it's ghastly origins. So he starts sabotaging the village, so that he could swoop in and save the day. Mine shafts collapse, livestock are injured, crops rot in the fields, and in comes Boreal to save the day. And he doesn't feel remotely guilty, playing the hero to feed his ego while bringing so much pain and anxiety to those around him.
Australis ends up in a cavern. She's hiding from a storm. It would be as good a place to die as any. As she crawls deeper into the cave, she notices flickers of ice embedded in the walls. Not ice- gems. Stunning gems of deep blue and purple. The further she goes, the denser and larger these spikes of crystal become. It's a marvel. Finally she rests against the largest cluster, the obvious root of it all. As she drifts into unconsciousness she hears whispering. The whispering of a thousand voices, more. One cuts through the noise. It's praises her strength, her heart, the weight of her sorrow and her thirst for knowledge. The voice offers her something - in exchange for all she knows, all she has ever known and will ever know, the voice in the cave offers Australis all the knowledge that the voice has ever known. She laughs - of course, her dying wish is to have the I finite knowledge to give her back the humanity that tied her to her mother, and deliriously accepts.
And thus, her pact with her patron is made and, for a moment, Australis dies.
This Archivist (for lack of a better word) is far older than Australis could have guessed, and each of this Undead patron's previous Warlocks were bound to it for the rest of time - or at least as long as their crystals were intact. She spends some time in the cave, hunting birds and small mammals to feed herself as she coped with the sudden and horrifically overwhelming connection between herself and thousands of others having bound her soul to theirs. She manages to control the voices and the overbearing Presence of her peers checking in on her, and she returns to society, travelling from town to town in search of books, of masters of skills at her patrons request. To expand The Archivists shared mind.
But, with how she looks and the dark magic she practices, Australis is well aware of how she presents. But while her brother tries to save himself with acts of good and holiness, Australis leans in to her monstrosity as a sort of act. Her form of dread is a fantastic deterrent to those who might try to harm her, a frightening creature with distended limbs and facial features, covered in jagged crystal. She's nasty, snappy and unpleasant, though she's still prone to acts of kindness and defence even if she pretends to be cold as ice. Which, as far as I'm concerned, makes her a better person than Boreal.
It's midnight I've been typing away at this for hours. I love these two fuckers they haunt me.
i love when sibling characters are fucked up from the same event but in opposite ways

Guys the parallels between Australis and Astarion are fun HOWEVERRRRR the fact that the whole Profane Ascension thing is sourced by Mephistopheles, who's worshippers were the root of pretty much all the worst parts of her life, means that not only us she terrified of repercussions once Raphael name drops her Least Favorite Archdevil, but there's no way in the nine hells she's letting Cazador ascend. Hell no. (She might consider letting Astarion do it in another playthrough, but no one she loves is fucking around with Mephistopheles.)

Wyll wasting a Revifivy on Australis after she tried to solo a nest of giant spiders, only for Lae'zel to immediately hit on her while she's still shaking and covered in bug goo and the remnants of a stink cloud is NOT how I thought the last 5 minutes would have gone.

(For your ocs)
What is everyone's alignment?
(Did you finish Australis' book/sketchbook that you were making? Cause I REALLLY want to see it!! If you posted it, I missed it :( )
Who's most likely to have a secret (or not) stuffed animal/special blanket?
How old are they?
If they could have a pet or animal companion, what would it be?
(I'll think of more but I'm super sleepy ((ha lol)) )
THANKYOU I ADORE YOUUUUU I'll answer the first one, then put the rest under the cut ♡
Okay so alignments!
Australis is Chaotic Neutral. Laws have meant nothing to her for quite some time and, while she wants you to think she spends her free time kicking dogs and making babies cry, she has quite the stubborn good streak she spends an inordinate time trying to hide.
Boreal is Neutral Evil - he is the cause of almost every almost-disaster that strikes the tiny town of Clicking Heels, and he's always miraculously around to save the day and cure wounds and make everything better. His desperation to prove himself to be good, to be a hero, has resulted in him being a person who does everything to the letter in order to cause enough problems to paint himself the small town hero.
Daphne is Lawful Good, and is both a people pleaser to the highest order and terrified of upsetting anyone ever. Having been raised in a way that convinced her that her magic was unruly, dangerous and in need of full time restraint, she makes very very sure no one else has reason to hate her. She also just has a huge heart and is consistently putting others above herself.
It could be argued that Belladonna is default Chaotic Evil, as the Dark Urge, but she's fighting these violent, cruel instincts as best she can. So I'm labelling her Chaotic Neutral, too.
Lividia is Lawful Neutral. As a Fist, her job is to follow orders. She's got a horrible jealous streak, so she's willing to do almost anything to boost her station without breaking rules, even if that means playing dirty.
As for secret comfort items, Australis has been carrying around a ratty stuffed owlbearntoy since visiting the House of Healing in act 2. It doesn't have a name, or anything, but Austrinwill sit up all night just looking at it, turning and tracing seams and squishing it in her hands. It reminds her of a stuffed animal she had some 50 years ago, before her corruption, before her pact. It's almost a tie back to the childhood she lost. Of course she'd rather die again than admit that she kept the old thing stuffed away in her pack.
As for the IRL Book of Shadows, it's still a work in progress!! The fact you remembered I was making it has made me so excited so here's some dodgy pics of where I'm at!

Thankyou so so much for the ask!! ♡♡♡♡♡

Having adventured to cure Astarion of Vampirism and breaking Australis' pact and bringing her back to life, properly, I am tearing up at the thought of the companions all getting back together to celebrate Astarion and Australis' "5th" birthday all together again. Gale makes a cake. They're all alive and happy, really alive. Don't touch me.
