33. the last adventure you’ve been on?

Pennsic War, the big yearly SCA event. By the end of the week I had made parchment, watched battles, drunk plenty of mead, and used four languages. So it was a good time.

Hi Ann! A lot of us watched your discussion with Arkady Martine the other day and really enjoyed it. We wanted to know if you could share the link to the fantasy name generator you use because we missed it and I can’t remember which it was? Also, a good lot of us our reading or rereading the Foreigner series and I have been enjoying imagining Breq and Banichi stoically limp around on their bad legs in Shejidan together (I’m only on book 2). Anyway thanks!

Precursor, by C. J. Cherryh

Kalinara: So, since I tricked Ragnell into taking two turns in a row to finish up Aftermath, this was my second turn. I decided to go back to one of the first series we started reviewing, and chose C. J. Cherryh’s Precursor. This is the fourth book of her Foreigner series.

So needless to say, none of this review will make much sense to anyone who hasn’t read the three books that came before.

Ragnell: Or at least the three reviews that came before.

K: Precursor starts three years after the end of Inheritor, and basically starts what I think of as the “Atevi In Spaaaace” trilogy. I’ll try to keep this synopsis short, as anyone who’s read Cherryh knows, her books tend to be pretty dense with content.

So by this time in the story, the Atevi have finished constructing their shuttles. And this means travel to and from the space station/ship is now a reality. The ship has recalled Jase and Yolanda, and as a response, Tabini sends Bren and his usual cohorts (Banichi, Jago, Tano, Algini) as well as a full atevi household (Bren’s status has risen in the world), up too, to set up the next stage of diplomatic negotiations.

Bren meets, however, a diplomatic quagmire. For all its urgency, the ship was NOT ready for the atevi, and a lot of strings need to be pulled to get things even remotely satisfactory. And then things go from inconvenient to downright dangerous when there is a coup in the highest ranks of ship government. Fortunately, Bren is not without recourse. And his guard are as effective as ever, even in these alien surroundings.

R: Honestly, how the hell didn’t see this coming sooner or later once the test flights went underway I don’t know. Tabini got his people to create spaceflight in three years. They should have at least expected he’d be asking soon, and that they should get some quarters ready for big aliens.

K: I think a lot of it may have been internal prejudice about primitive aliens. They see the Atevi, and they see a people who are still considerably more behind than they are technologically speaking. They don’t have any real appreciation of the way that Atevi have been able to use and innovate the Mospheiran technological advances (advances that eventually the Atevi would have been able to create themselves without help, just on a slower time scale), or how quickly they’ve come already. They also don’t seem to appreciate just how Tabini works as a leader. When he makes a decision, it happens.

As I mentioned, Bren’s status is considerably elevated. He’s finally figured out that he isn’t the ordinary translator/spy that he signed up to be. The story actually, finally, divorces his role completely from “translator” as a number of other characters with at least a workable command of the Ragi language are introduced. Both Tabini and Ilisidi show that they have resources outside of Bren, when it comes to simple communication with the humans on Mospheira. That said, Bren’s role is still vitally important.

Bren is Tabini’s diplomatic hammer, basically. And he is breathtakingly good at it. The four captains are the autocratic governing body of the whole ship, and Bren dictates terms to them. Bren also negotiates a completely separate business deal with the kinda-sorta-competing Mospheiran faction. (Bren has officially at this point made his break from the island. Apparently they do still try to pay him though.)

I remember the first time I read this book, I immediately went back and reread Foreigner. It’s a very similar feeling, I think, to watching A New Hope right after Return of the Jedi. Seeing Luke Skywalker back as that naive farmboy once you see him as the Jedi Master he becomes is such an amazing experience. He’s so adorable! This is, I think, Bren’s Return of the Jedi. There is no question that he’s a formidable force of nature, and possibly, in his own way, the third most powerful person on the planet (after Tabini and Ilisidi.)

R: Bren Cameron is one of only two people in any of the three factions who has experience mediating between humans and an alien species. (The other being the retired old paidhi Wilson, because Jase was still following Bren’s lead when he worked with the atevi.) In the situation this series has set up, that is a perfect comparison because he is basically a diplomatic Jedi. That is how rare that skill is and how necessary it is.

K: He’s not completely free of his anxieties though. There’s a truly lovely freakout scene early in the book, where he starts lambasting himself for enjoying having the fate of the world in his hands. The poor thing probably would still benefit from a therapist. Especially now that we’ve gotten a good look at his mother. The woman makes a physical appearance at the beginning of the book, and we see more of her personality through phone calls and letters. And she is terrible and incredibly manipulative. When I look at her, I start to suspect that a lot of Bren’s own diplomatic skills likely came about long before he met the Atevi, in sheer self defense.

R: He is being too hard on himself. Look, power is fun. That’s why it’s so corruptive. It’s fun to be the person someone needs to agree with and while that’s pretty much what led to the situation on the Captain’s Council first place that Bren enjoyed that scene so much proves he’s still human. Which he was worrying about last trilogy.

And really, it’s so much fun to watch. Usually we get these scenes on stuff like Star Trek with the uncooperative diplomat or politician and we see from the crew point of view. Here we see from the diplomat’s point of view, that he knows he’s being difficult and that this is part of establishing boundaries during negotiations. He feels bad about it with the rank and file personnel, and you feel a little bad for them too, but it is so enjoyable each time he puts the Captains in their place.

And then Ilisidi shows up, and it’s like he gets a power-up and gets to be ten times as loud and demanding and it is just so much fun to read. He goes from badass to Badass when she shows up.

K: At least he still has his relationship with Jago, which is so lovely and drama free. We also finally get an answer to the nature of Jago’s relationship with Banichi. Which likely adds a really interesting dynamic to Bren’s relationship with Banichi as well. Banichi is now Joe West, matchmaking his adopted son and his daughter.

R: That was just such a funny thing. And it’s not dropped for just nothing, it adds to the stressors during the parts of the book when Banichi disappears to well, be Banichi.

K: One of the things I think is really funny about this series is how each book ends up expanding on the factions and adding more division versus what came before. Like in Foreigner, we’re introduced to the humans and the atevi. Invader expands on that by introducing Deana Hanks and her Heritage Party as an antagonistic faction of humans. Inheritor is what introduces the Ship folk as their own faction, and Tatiseigi as a representative of very conservative Atevi.

Following in that trend, Precursor introduces a couple of new factions as well, and they’re all represented by new characters.

The first two I want to talk about are Tom Lund and Ginny Kroger. These two are Mospheirans, and introduced as members of the Heritage Party, who go up to the station with Bren. (Tabini’s idea, he likes symmetry and wanted Mospheira to send their own delegation when he sent Bren.) Bren particularly started off badly with Kroger, who seemed to exemplify her party’s closed minded attitude. However, once Bren and the Mospheirans unite against the increasingly bewildering behavior of the ship folk, he gets to learn more about them and the Heritage Party itself. Basically, the antagonists like Hanks and her father were only one part of the Party, while others joined because of other reasons: like the desire for independent scientific recovery and the push for space. Kroger, in particular, has personal ambitions regarding the rediscovery of robotics, which she believes will enable humans and atevi to engage in mining resources and other space-tasks with greater safety.

We have new adversaries though, in the form of Tamun, the fourth Captain of the crew, and his hardliners, who affect a coup against Ramirez, the leader of the Captains and the one we’ve encountered before (at least by radio), who is the one supporting the diplomatic relationship with the Atevi.

R: So far, Tamun is the most dickish antagonist we’ve seen. Which is why no one will miss him.

K: And then there’s Kaplan, who is introduced as Bren’s reluctant guide. Kaplan represents the everyman ship view (as opposed to Jase, who has a fairly elevated status, and also is off screen for most of the story as a victim of the coup). He is wary but ultimately curious about the Atevi, and it’s through him and crewmen like him that Bren is able to gain some social leverage, spread the truth about the coup, and make contacts throughout the ship.

Amusingly, we get a hint of Atevi politics as well. Bren’s elevated status has brought with it an official household (led by an esteemed old man named Narani, whose propriety and taste impresses even Ilisidi) and a prestigious apartment in the Bujavid, something that even some lesser Lords don’t have. Among his staff is a chef named Bindanda, who is both remarkably talented, and a spy from Lord Tatiseigi, a conservative Atevi lord who had been introduced in the last series. Everyone is well aware of Bindanda’s status as a spy, and try to accommodate that whenever possible.

R: Well, it’s not like he’s shooting up valuable artwork.

I love how bizarre the atevi seem to the crew in this way. Bren goes up there a lot more relaxed than an atevi lord would be, but clearly Tabini is presenting him as one. And that requires all this redecoration and accommodation that will definitely have to occur when the atevi take over the station and put whatever lucky lord gets to live in outer space up there. But the idea that there’s cosmetic adjustments to be made is just completely foreign to the ship humans, and they have no idea how lucky they are that Bren was sent up first with a polite staff before Ilisidi got up there.

K: In the midst of all of these events, we get some lovely worldbuilding moments. For example, Tabini has built an embassy for humans in Shejidan, designed (with input from Bren and Jase) to suit human tastes as much as possible. Meanwhile, we get to appreciate what goes into making the station quarters livable to Atevi (it reminds me a little of feng shui, though I am far too ignorant of the practice to make any real comparison.)

R: I don’t think the practice is too different from what we do for humans, just the details. They paint dentist offices in pastels so people don’t get upset. There are certain images you don’t put on the walls in public places. There’s a cliched type of motel and hotel setup so that everyone’s comfortable as they travel through. You don’t blast cacophonous music or have loud unpleasant noises in a waiting area. Certain smells are not good. Just for atevi, they need all of the numbers to be right in addition to the colors, sounds, and smells.

K: We also learn more about Ship culture: the emphasis on family (“cousins”, the fact that Ramirez’s children are in the command track, Tamun chooses his uncle to be a new Captain after the coup), a somewhat paternalistic attitude toward women, and a veneration for old women, which comes in very handy when Ilisidi comes in as the cavalry.

R: Yeah, Tabini had to have picked that reverence for old ladies up during incidental conversation and filed that away as a way of taking definitive and quick control before the Ship-Humans could know what happened.

K: I’ve said before that this is essentially the start of a new trilogy. Where the first trilogy focused on the interrelationship between Mospheira and Atevi, with the Ship as a catalyst, this trilogy is focused on space, with a special look at the ship humans and their interrelations, with Bren and the Atevi as catalysts. It’s only going to get more complex from here on out. :-)

Good writing, but overall an unsatisfying bridge novel. I like Cherryh's work, and this series in particular. As a result, I opted to give it four stars rather than three because I know the author paints on a very large canvas, and it can take several novels for a given story to unfold. Go to Amazon

Number 18 bridges within the series with character and situation development This book bridges the gap between the problems encountering the kyo in the previous book (Visitor) and sets up the conflict between the Reunioners and Mospheirans. It is not a particularly action-filled book, but rather, provides Ms. Cherryh's dedicated fans with more character development of Cajeiri and more soul-searching by Bren. The relationship between Cajeiri and his mother, Damiri, is increasingly seen as problematic, and the introduction of new characters vying for the Ajuri lordship hints aqt bitter conflict to come. One is interested too in the increasingly good relationship between Cajeiri and Lord Tatiseigi. Series regulars, Ilisidi and Tabini-aiji are only peripherally involved. One wishes that Shawn Tyers, the Presidenta of Mospheira was more developed rqther than just existing as a rubber stamp of Bren's opinions, and the scene between Wilson-paidhi and Bren lacked the sizzle I would haqve expected of a younger Bren. This book is really more of a set-up for the next book. Not every book in an 18-volume (so far) series can be the best in the series. I have high hopes for the 19th book which has been submitted and will probably be published in spring 2018. Go to Amazon

Another "Tracker" I love this series, but the last few books have been deeply dissatisfying, and I’ve come to realize it’s because of a recurring theme. This book really drove it home, because it’s an egregious example of it: Bren isn’t going up against characters who can put up a fight. His opposition is all unintelligent, incompetent, and powerless to oppose him, and it deflates every plotline into the “Bren monologues at someone too dumb to already agree with him” we’ve seen so much of already. Notes From Book 8 Pretender

from October the 11 of this year

Wait the fuck, this had 11 chapters? on the libby app there is 451 pages , like 200 pages shorter then the usual ones.

Bren looking upon the destruction of the house from where the last book left off. there is so many holes in the house.

Jago asks if he is okay as he finds his computer where he hid it . She even looks a bit worn down.

He smells like human sweat she smelled like petroleum .

They are trying to clean up the wreak that happened in the end of the last book

He asks Jago to check a chair for anything dangerous.  Luckily it is not.

The shit show has not been resolved so now there is only 3 points of power , the usurper, the guild , and the people. 

The situation may have caused the taiben and Atigeini to work together. A rarity 

He wants to get the report to tabini as soon as possible despite how tired he is. 

Tano and algini are about to try to get him to use the bath when they hear shouting 

It's cenedi who is probably pissed about how the security is not up to date and lack of it.

It turns out that tatiseigi is so tech avoiding that he lacks an understanding how even technology has changed.

Also tabini is trying to get it through tatiseigi thick skull about the shit show.

The argument is finished and tabini has gone to a bath before bed.

Bren wants to get the report to tabini to maybe make him feel better because he blames himself for all of this.

Bren gets a little dressed and meets some of tatiseigi staff timani and andaro who treat him and jago like assholes.

He gose to the bath and takes some stuff with him he dose not trust tatiseigi staff with them. Jago joins him soon after.

Jago kind of embarrasses a timani the servent that brought towels and was startled by the scene of Jago in the tub.

Jago and been are just so perfect for each other. Also he gives her a little kiss on the forhead before she tries to figure out where his clothes are gonna be.

Damiri shows up and asks about Brens encounter with the servants. She also praises bren for taking care of their son caljeiri despite her probably sadness at not being with him for two years.

Well she dose tell bren that if there is anything then ask timani .

Sounds like she was a bit if a prankster like caljeiri front what bren hears.

Bren gets embarrassed and when banichi brings up the fact that damiri probably dose know about his and jagos arrangement. 

When bren us worried about how jago might be affected banichi points out that it would more likly affect tatiseigi staff , not his staff. Bren appreciates this and says that he shall try to deserve banichi . 

He gets dressed for the day.

He gets ready to report to tabini and to try to avoid pissing of tatiseigi as well.

Timani is a little uncomfortable around being bruised and scratched up human skin and asks if bren needs to be bandaged up 

The room is being cleaned up as well by the staff who are trying to make up for the discourtesy of tatiseigi 

He gets banich to send a message that he could like a meeting with tabini as soon as tabini can allow.

Jago is back and tells him that cenedi us planing of where to go if the shit hits the fan.

They have a nasty scare around a plane flying over head , luckily no bomb were dropped. 

Oh shit has the boy from dur come back? 

Rejiri from dur is back and oh boy is bren happy to see him. He came to tell them his father is bringing some army to help them

The reason why the dur are more then happy to assist is because there are laws and taxes that have effectively pissed the dur. He also would loved to hear about there adventures in space. 

Caljeiri really likes poeple who do exciting shit like fly a plane over head.

Ajuri and edi clans are gonna be coming this way. 

Tatiseigi agrees to the help of rejiri. Ilisidi really wants caljeiri to not be near that plane.

He gose into meeting with tabini , ilisidi and damiri

Bren is sad that tabini is not calling him "paidhi-ji" and calls him lord of the heavens.

So the hill men really so not want to deal with flatland politics.

Oh shit pretender title drop through damiri 

When bren tries to escape the verbal fire tabini grabs his arm and gets a little to close.

The kadigidi are so dame stubborn about change they do not know what to do about the numbers of the university computers they confiscated. 

Bren blames himself for the whole shit show , again . Also kind or realizes that him ignoring the cultural worries may have made things worse. 

Bren tries to bring back moderation into the situation,  luckily tabini lets go of his arm.

Welp at least tabini is defending him from ilisidi getting mad about him.

Damiri gets tatiseigi to chill the fuck out , thank goodness. Also tabini tries to ease brens shoulder he may have bruised a bit. He even let's bren go to check on his son while he tries to keep the household from falling apart from the argument. 

Oh boy caljeiri is trying to find a house fuel tank. Uh oh. So they decided to go to where the house fuel tank it.

Poor banichi trying to advise that little shit caljeiri . Luckily banichi was a teacher that he respected and listens to his warning 

Rejiri is just getting some fuel for his plane.

Caljeiri obviously would like to use the plane , jago says a gentle form of like hell you are.

The buses of allies are here. And oh boy us tatiseigi gonna be pissed about the buses are gonna be on the grass.

Caljeiri is pissed enough at the disrespect of bren being mistaken for a foreigner and not the paidhi that he steps on the foot of the offending old man

Bren tries to get between the incoming fight between caljeiri and the lords. Luckily banichi makes them have a truce.

Bren apologize and makes caljeiri apologize to the lord 

Banichi and jago bring him comfort in a awful world.

He goes into the conference with the other factions including the guy who pissed off caljeiri by the name of benedi

Bren pretty much thinks that what humans would call poeple who's man'chi did not flow upwards psychopathic personality 

Bren starts worrying about the guild because there has been no update on the situation. 

What probably make the shit show so hard on tabini was because the new staff were under prepared or have divided loyalties to him. Also he is probably grieving the loss.

Okay now they are getting to plan food by tatiseigi 

Bren is worried about the status about him and tabini.

Damiris sister meisi and her aunt and cousin deieja

The cousin is so tiny.

When bren asks for a phone to maybe call the guild he is almost shot down. Luckily tabini,  ilisidi and damiri defend his advice. 

He is a little worried at being dismissed by tabini to his plan to try to get to shejidan to present the evidence of shit.

Caljeiri explains to bren his father is mad at the ajuri then anything.

They plant to go there with his staff who note that murini is getting clans to where they are and the staff at where bren is are a bit overwhelmed by the new guests.

Caljeiri makes the not so dumb decision to ask some advice from damiri. 

Bren tries to explain that poeple are blaming him for everything going wrong. caljeiri tells him that ilisidi praises him . bren is a little worried about talking to an eight rear old about politics

rejeiri the group plan to try to get into contact with ilisidi and plan a bit for the where they can go.

bren tries to make a report of what has happened and bemoans that the he had no landlines to contact anyone on the island.

he talks with algini about everything and says that everyone probably detests him being there . 

algini dumps the salad reference . bren is also stunned at algini calling him aiji-ma and not what he is used to being called. bren is stunned before caljeiri interrupts them.

antaro and jegari are able to get some food from dinner. bren tells algini that he can acompeny the youngsters but caljeiri can't

the sound of hammers repairing tatiseigi house can be heard. 

banichi is working on a side wiring project and tells of the good news about the lords being done with supper. 

oh shit the sound of guild vehicles have arrived. might have arrived due to brens letter.

caljeiri is so over protective of bren for all he has done. aww. also timani is pissed with caljeiris shit , like ears burning.

oh shit gegini and the vehicles might be serious trouble. sounds like gegini is running the guild show.

he makes caljeiri leave him and stay around ilisidi to deal with the shit outside the mansion. banichi also advice on what caljeiri can to escape.

they go to the meeting and tabini invites bren to sit with him much to brens worry.

tabini and tatiseigi are pretty pissed about the guilds delayed help to this whole shit show.

ph boy gild maybe you should not call tabini a former aiji , even after all he has been through while he is surrounded by others who are pretty pissed by your actions and loyal to him still.

ilisidi is okay with caljeiri moving in to her room while the guild takes his old room. 

everyone grigiji astronomer emeritus is back with everyone. thinking we have heard or seen the last of him I am sure. he also obviously wants to see ilisidi and bren because of course space stuff .

thw guild are pissed at grigiji popping up unannounced . poor guy.

the plan to have a meeting with grigiji to talk about the voyage ilisidi and bren had.

they also want food.

banichi are going to a meeting but bren is worried that something seriously bad is gonna happen.

bren gose back to his own room tano and algini are waiting with weapons because of curse shit might go down.

jago gives bren his computer like some bad shit is gonna happen.

jago used the computer to explain the gegini , two of his lieutenants and a few others are outside and that ether A the old guild master is dead or B this is an unauthorized mission.

gegini is of madi clan and padi valley men

she praises his actions for sending that letter to his shock because he did not know it was important for him go get a reaction out of gegini.

one of the red flags is like hell anyone would proclaim them selfs a guild master in public.

bren has alot of stuff to worry about and gegini is probably gonna try to fuck over everyone here in the building and take everyone down.

oh shit this whole shit show could have to make everything get finessed

bren is worried about everything and is blaming himself.

they get out of the room to maybe some where else in the house. he is also gonna try to get a hoster so that he dose not try to shoot himself in an embarrassing and fatal way when he gets his gun back.

oh fuck, there is an explosion a floor down.  jago and bren get the fuck out

there is a plane and maybe bren hopes a decoy or to safey for tabini or damiri

he is running with jago , tano and algini running the fuck out.

he is in the forest with algini , jagi and tano and soon some vehicles.

okay banichi is back with a whistle of jago

its kind of funny that jago has to kind of man handle him while they are escaping

oh shit banichi and his crew took them down and they are going to shejidan 

calejiri is here on the bus with him.  ilisidi and tabini are in not the same bus for safety reasons 

Holy shit tabini is in a plane that has 9 cenedi crafted gasoline bottles with rejiri to drop on anyone who tries shit.

Brens worried about the legality of dropping bombs from a plane. Luckily jago tells him that it is only an option but not what tabini is gonna try to do.

Holy hell those guild member wanna best are fucking dead and that fucking over confidentiality fail that badly.

They are going to try going to refeul their buses at the train station before before going to shejidan. 

Bren thinks about how tabini didn't consult him 

the atevi are gunning towords tabini and potential death and he is gonna be dragging in.

The buses belong to the dur . 

Oh fuck cenedi , tatiseigi and ilisidi are in a open car . Oh godamn are they gonna be a distraction and have a moment with tatiseigi "like old time"?

Bren makes rejiri father , adigain , to keep up with ilisidi,  who is thankful of the honor of him being an associate of his son. 

They follow in pursuit of ilisidi car and bren if fucking anxious about the household of tabini dying.

Ilisidi makes a fucking announcement essentially declaring war on murini , dear God.

He asks algini to clean his gun before the real shit show begins. 

Bren gets a bit scared and curious of algini . Also thinks that algini had a personal grudge on the usurper of the guildmaster.

Tano advises him to stick behind them because he is practically is a walking target. 

They get to the station to refuel. Caljeiri tells bren they could try to convince his grandmother and the others to try to not die.

Bren rightfully tells bren to not try anything that he could get in trouble. Caljeiri sulks

Great tabini has to try to find the damn car .

Turns out ilisidi got ahead so they are going to be trying to fuel up when they can.

So it turns out that tabini managed to get some informants from the guild to keep most of the fire from what they pulled off 

Oh shit bren may not have fucked up as badly as he thought,  thanks to ilisidi being back not only do they have some of their allies they already have but the east that is ilisidi and murini is waist deep in shit of his own making.

Cenedi is now with them.

Still in the busy car. And oh my got jago just fucking says he is trying to fucking sleep.

Takes a little nap before being awoken to gun fire.

Banichi keeps bren down and lectures caljeiri gaurds for not protecting caljeiri 

Been and caljeiri try to go back to sleep when the bus acts funny. 

Turns out the station they nearly got a refuel at was booby trapped and almost got them.

Jago and banichi are sleeping. Caljeiri finnaly managed to finally run out of energy.

Bren thinks a bit about his time in space while trying to sleep.

Jago letting bren rest while they are near the ragi center. 

When bren is shaving his stubble chin caljeiri wonders if bren could grow a beard but bren can not due to court would be scandal. 

Well they are gonna get on a train from there buses to try to confuse their foes.

Bren thought of the poor suffering staff and edi as fuel against murini .

Bren and everyone gets on the train and finally find ilisidi and tatiseigi there and sipping tea. Also tatiseigi got a bullet in his arm. 

Holy hell damiri is with tabini and rejiri. Ilisidi also praises bren for keeping an eye on caljeiri. 

Well there was attempt at assassination but that thankfully averted. 

Oh shit is murini gonna try to flee from the capital?

They see the plane outside the train. Also they see that rejiri have a fiancée named aigino.

It's funny that through all this chaos they are eating like dinner is going on.

The guild has acknowledged the authority and murini is trying to flee to some of his allies 

Tano and algini are gonna have to go with ilisidi to try to take back Bu-javid and are gonna have caljeiri be with bren. Bren is sad but understanding 

They all get sent to the engine and there tabini is waiting . He hugs bren and caljeiri.  

Damiri is with her father and ahuri with the buses. Bren has a shocked reaction to the situation he is in.

Rejiri is above the ship keeping an eye out for them.

Bren is with tabini , banichi,  jago and caljeiri plan to what to do next.

Murini might have made it look like he is fleeing to keep them from trying to look for him.

Caljeiri is worried his grandmother does not know he is with tabini , he is informed she knows.

Tabini shows caljeiri how to carefully go into a tunnel. 

They go to the train tunnel under the city with tabini , caljeiri and bren. 

Bren is told to stay with caljeiri and bren gets caljeiri not not try to protect his dad.

Jago gets bren and caljeiri to come along with her .

They get to the halls that tabini wants the invite everyone there.

Bren realuses that he is not on the shuttle and thinking he is has caused him to be paranoid. 

They might be home and buses are coming.

Bren finally gets a much needed bath 

Jago and ilisidis servants help bren

Murini may be dead after his plane crashed . Not one pities him.

His staff whant him to go to bed and banichi menchion the salad reference  .

Cenedi has to rest because he has been done in , only rests because ilisidi says so.

Banichi blushes when bren praises him.

The old guild master is alive and back in power.

Banichi can tell that he has so many questions him.

Banichi really wants bren to go back to bed.

He attends a bit of a meeting of ilisidi and tabini.

Jago gets him to sleep and tano and algini will see him in the morning after dealing with some intents.

Tano and algini do arrive in the morning to bren.

Bren is hoping yo print the papers and images they got . The images are gonna be in black and white though .

Notes From Book 7 Destroyer

from October the 7 of this year

Holy hell this has 13 whole fucking chapters in it. Holly shit.

1

First description is the fuck ton of spider plants in brens room. They are litterally makeing as the description says "clouds of miniature pale edged spider babys "

Bren wishes he brought tomatoes instead.

He's begun to learn Greek and is working on a kyo grammar.  

He still write to his brother about everything.

Caljeiri is starting to get in trouble with being friendly with artur , gene and irene , three human children he meet.

4149 poeple on board the ship.

The idea of cajeiri being corrupted by the concept of a birthday is so fucking funny.

The idea of ilisidi locking herself inside her cabin to avoid the number 8 birthday because atevi will happily celebrate numbers like  9 but numbers like 8 are a big no-no . 

Cajeiri kind of being more close to humans is kind of worrying everyone who knows why , including bren.

He is told that jase wishes to see him, to tell him that they are finally close to home.

He gose to tell ilisidi of the good news. Jago and banichi join him. 

Ilisidi is extremely happy about the news and the invitation to the bridge of the ship.

Bren tries to help cajeiri feel better about the situation of his birthday. He is also worried about seeing not seeing his friends from the ship , Bjorn , irene , Arthur and Gene . 

Gin Kroger full name Dr Virginia Kroger is doing fine as ever. Barnhart and Jerry are with her as well.

He admits that he is gonna miss ginny.

He write to his brother his hopefully last letter to his home. 

He also writes to tabini about what has happened with his son.

Bren is in bed, working about where jago is and Braddock might try some shit. Also worried about the kyo.

Narani comes to warn him he might need to be secure about the ship dropping. 

He rushes to get dress from bed.

He gets worried when jago gets a bit injured.

For some reason some one putted a ship in front In their to , putting then in traffic in space. For some reason the ship is a unused mining ship. 

Ogun is speaking on C1 thank goodness. The bad news is a yes. Something is wrong with the continent mainland.

Ilisidi is pissed at that news. Good news is that geigi is okay.

Well that is one way of making a character loose everything to make them want to get everything back.

Geigi is on the phone and the bad news is definitely an oh shit , tabini is missing , kadigidi might be behind the assassination,  and the western association is fractured and in a civil war 8 months ago. Good news is that President shawn Tyer's and lord geigi are still by their side and where waiting for them all to come back.

Tatiseigi is in his estate and damiri is not with him.

Well this whole shit show is gonna look ugly for the other humans They brought along.

They have to carefully sneak themselves in there to keep potential enemies of tabini from seeking them out.

It's kind of surreal that his room was stripped of the spider plants and everything he first saw . He still gose to bed with Jago.

The main group of bren group advance to meet up with lord geigi.

Lord geigi and tano and algini are there along with geigi staff. Bren is crying a little. 

They go to geigi's room to explain in full detail the whole shit show they are in. The cause might have been due to economic issues. 

Caljeiri pretty much kind of points out how the atevi acted like children. And the heritage party is back, damn it and yolanda has yeeted herself from radar .

Ilisidi calls shawn presidenta and wants to use the shuttle to go down. To one of the island instead of the mainland.  

Ogun unsurprisingly wants to see bren in his office. 

Shawn talks to him and warns him they are going to be landing in a dangerous area of the world.

ogun is warning bren about all the shit they they are gonna need to know and bren gets a chance to talk to shawn.

shawn gets him a chance to get everyone to where the island is, bren explains to whole plan. 

bren explains the shit show in the main continent  as what could be as a double faced mean girl who managed to get the hand in the popular clique except with adults , death and spies. at least that is how I could describe it. 

they have to bring caljeiri because they have to keep the atevi from thinking he is a puppet prince for the humens or lord geigi.

jase tells bren good luck while bren promises to bring up tea , fruit candies and canisters of anything nice after they hug.

bindana , narani , tano , algini , banichi and jago want to go with him. jago would even leave him on the human island and file intent on his behalf with his seal ring on his finger.

bren points out that filing intent might not get rid of murini 

he has tea with narani and bindanda to discuss maybe for them to be in the ship 

tano is so damn cheerful in comparison to algini while they are leaving for the shuttle.

bren feels sym[thetic for how caljeiri is probably miserable about all this.

when they get home on the planet caljeiri is trying to get some flowers that were arranged to mean life and welcome but the flower flew out.

caljeiri is explaining the kyo they saw in outer space to the stewards.

bren the translater is back baby! and oh boy dose he feel like he failed tabini.

jago note he has not eaten at all. bren is trying to keep self blame from getting to him. 

jago wonders if he is sick and bren gets embarrassed at showing emotions.  he tries to tell him is just the flight.

ilisidi goes into a explanation of the family situation that may have brought upon them. one is his cousin who was kind enough to bring him sweets when he got in trouble with his uncle.

caljeiri get a bit mouthy with ilisidi and mentions his human friends then Atigeini. Gives bren a near heart attack.

Caljeiri stop being such a smart ass towords ilisidi. 

It's kind of nice that ilisidi is still supportive of her grandson tabini

There ship lands at where they need to get to to make it back home, brens anxiety in planes is not fun for him to have

He remembers all the names of the humans from the island.

Bren has to explain to the poeple to that ilisidi and everyone is pretty stressed yet are very peaceful.  

Colonel brown is understanding of the shit show they are in. Also Shawn wants to see them personally.

Bren tells them the good news and that maybe he could speak to yolanda .

They meet with Shawn who asks ilisidi about the murini situation. Ilisidi refuses to acknowledge their existence . Shawn gives then some fancy new up to date assess for his computer.

After getting to where they can rest ilisidi wonders if they can get to the mainland as fast as they can.

They get a plan for how to smuggle everyone to the mainland. Ilisidi sees Mount Adam Thomas , that wich used to be called noburanjiru or grandmother of snow.

After sitting down for a bit he Finnaly meets back with yolanda.

Yolanda tries to explain what the hell happened,  turned out they were warned of what was going to happen. She even made a report about what happened while he was away. 

Yolanda thinks what caused murini was ambition and was probably planned in a few months. She was yeeted by his staff to get her the hell out of there.

The heritage party is back and that grudge Gaylord Hanks has for his daughter has been festering.

He calls his brother who reveals that he is trying to meet with him bur the gaurds would not let him. 

God damn it toby , why you got yo give me fuzziness at the wholesome brotherly affection.

Toby revels that he and Jill did nor get back together. She kept the kids and the house while he got the boat. Surprisingly he is happy about the separation. 

He gets an idea to use his brother's boat to get to the main land. Too bad toby wants to come along to help. The bad news is that barb is now with Toby,  shit.

They get ready with the ship and it looks like it is a rather new boat.

The boat , brighter days 

Jago please do not bring up barb in from of them please?.

He tells her that his mother is dead also to keep jago from have a grudge on barb by pointing out she was there for his mother and Toby through man'chi . 

Bren saying that the atevi relationship plan from jago may have helped with his relationship issues a lot better.

He gives him the letters he made in the last book and from the beginning to his brother before they go to shore.

Bren hopes barb did change from those books ago , just hopes she isn't as possessive as before . He also is pretty mature.

Caljeiri gets  in trouble fore nearly dragging up a stingfish that nearly got ilisidi. Gets sent to bed early  as punishment 

He explains to toby what caljeiri might replace his dad. Ilisidi might have learned a bit of English. 

Oh god damn it barb . You are literally proving to bren why he likes the atevi relationship arrangement. She admits that she couldn't be living with him and they both want to aspire to be friends instead of lovers. 

He talks her that if she treats his brother like shit he is gonna be horrible.

They get to the location they are hopeing to get to. Has redfish . Bren tries to hid the fish part due to his brother fishing with out a license.  Ilisidi gives his brother one for all the trouble. 

Oh shit tano sees light in the distance,  meaning some one may have seen them , especially an atevi

He bids his brother fair well and to be careful.  He with caljeiri and barb I'm a raft make it safely to shore. Barb and toby gtfo

It's dark as hell with everyone on the shore in maybe dur.

Oh my gosh are they gonna be going visiting the boy from dur?

Jago and banichi " borrow" a fish truck . Everyone gets in. 

While on the drive ilisidi tells caljeiri that he is in debit to the village of desari   geigi saved a man named desari and his daughter ar sea and got the village to change the name to remind them.

Bren is worried for caljeiri. 

Holy hell they abducted and drugged a guy to get info on the shit show. A girl named ruso kind of helps them.

Bren realizes that all of the associates of gaigi and tabini are in danger.

Bren takes a little nap by tano and algini.  Before being woken by tano.

They get onto the box car with the help of ruso

They get a little bit of food in the boxcar. 

They Finnaly stop at there destination and gtfo of the boxcar silently. 

They get onto a bus and algini drives with them away. 

Car chase scene to escape the police. 

Jago reveils that banichi took a hike to check if the messaging system used by the hunting lodge director and his assistant uses.

Bren has a near heart attack at seeing another guy. Jago tells him it's an ally.

The fellows name keimi and has 16 mecheiti.  Ilisidi gets a little pissed at the insult of assuming she can not ride.

They get some news that tabini and damiri had gotten out of mogari and to somewhere in the east.

He gets on one of the beasts and heads of with everyone.

The sounds of whistles are heard on the first of this chapter.

Bren gets a bit worried for caljeiri when he is approached by some taibeni youngsters his eyes. 

Ilisidi warns keimi that they have a human and might not like the heavy alkaloids in his food or drink. Bren is grateful. 

Turns out the youngsters knew of caljeiri when he was a toddler 

Keimi tells that tabini did not what to leave to the space station to leave everyone else to die. 

Bren is able to rest. 

They are gonna try doing something stupidly dangerous, try to get to tatiseigi country estate to try to get to jagos and banichi guild. 

They get through the forst and reach a train rail and village.

They are gonna be separated from the poeple who helped them.

Aww the youngsters get permission to go with caljeiri.  Yaaay . Also bren noticed  something odd with the youngsters that gives bren kind of a similarly to falling in love exept it has two poeple and it's not sextual at all.

The girls name is antar and the boy is jegari . They are kind of 15 and soon to be 16.

Bren is worried about ilisidi trying to back stab him.

Ilisidi sees something off with his face and asks him about it.

Ilisidi tells him that purity defines him  might be a way to say that he is innocent.  He is flushed a bit by that quote of hers.

Bren is still worried about her and tatseigi turned on them.

They arrive at the the gates of the estate.  Seems good and tatiseigi is coming out with a car.

The car is in clear view and caljeiri is told to straighten up his collar .

Tatiseigi greets them at the cars , gets a bit startled by caljeiri and still salty as ever for the paidhi for maybe causing to him the shit show.

Has not heard of damiri at all. Bren dose not blame him for his rage as they go inside the estate. 

Realizes that h is really tired from all the shit he had to go through to get here.

Tatiseigi is a little distrustful of the two kids who went with caljeiri.  Ilisidi tells him the kids are under her protection. 

Ilisidi as also asked for a bath.

When tatiseigi tries to make bren bath with out any respect his staff and bren stand up to tatiseigi bullshit towords him.

So he was not only covered in filth but he is also bruised and scratched up a bit.

After he rests up and gets some food he decides to sleep in the bed with banichi guarding him as he rests with him.

When he wakes up , while he gets dressed he tells tano that he is okay with them just calling them bren in private.

Jago tells bren that tatiseigi believes that tabini is alive.  Caljeiri was with the youngsters and nawari so he wasn’t there.

Bren is wondering could be the treater that might have fucked over tabini.

Oh shit bren just waked into a "ilisidi might verbally fuck shit up to the person she is talking to" moment

Caljeiri be fucking careful. He apologizes for the patio incident. 

Caljeiri pissed off the old man but isn't gonna get anyone assassinated

He wakes up to his gaurds with a plan to use the situation of ilisidi and tatiseigi to try to get to thr guild.

Bren has to write a letter to guild to maybe let them in.

Bren thinks about everything and finds out the Atigeini staff are being suspicious . 

Bren realizes where tabini could have gone , with the astronomer at the University where Emeritus grigiji was.

Bren wishes he could freely speak of where tabini could be. He also wishes jase was there with him.

He uses his computer to silently tell what he thinks he knows about tabini and what is happening. 

He writes a letter to ilisidi begging her for her help. 

Welp that plan shifted the bed. He tells tano to destroy the letter.

Bren is dreading the tea he has to have with ilisidi. 

Oh boy is he getting a bit of a heated like argument with him. Ilisidi to the rescue. It's kind of funny how tatiseigi called her "abominatiable women"

Oh boy is there a little bit of a fight starting to happen and caljeiri really wants tatiseigi to not shout at his grandmother. 

Tatiseigi really hates the taibeni , poor youngsters 

Tatiseigi agrees and makes caljeiri new friend antaro , who wanted the honor of getting that letter through enemy territory. 

Bren is pissed that these kids have to go through all this shit. Luckily even the Atigeini staff even they thought sending a kid out there alone was a shitty idea.

While they were talking about the shit show they heard something and go out to check.

God damn it caljeiri where the hell are you?!? Oh fuck is caljeiri and jegari gonna try to appeal to the taiben because bren brought it up?

Great ilisidi and cenedi are there and worried as ever. Cenedi may not like him alot but it's kind of sweet he is realy distressed for him.

Almost everyone says fuck it were are going after the young idiots.

Bren thinks caljeiri is way to smart for his age.

They meet up with antaro who is now with them.

They are now currently still trying to find the little shits.

Oh great a gun shot. There is also a youngsters voice as well. Banichi tells him to be careful and stay low.

Aw it implies that bren when he rests for an hour some of the atevi sleep around him and make him feel safe.

They make there way to the location they need to be. Also getting caljeiri to his taibeni relatives and to hopefully his father.

Bren is trying to sleep while going back to the mansion.  

Good news the houses gates are safe , bad news there are gaurds that maybe trying to take over the house.

Banich stands up for bren and says he is capable despite his size. Bren adores being called capable then lord of the heavens. 

They go for a charge to try to gain back control of the house.

He gets a bit shocked by electric wire.

After a bit of chaotic fighting they get reinforcements to save there assess.

Caljeiri is back and tabini is with him. The picture of bren calling tabini "aiji-ma" and hugging him is so cute.

Ilisidi greeting tabini in that way and telling him about where his son could be is so funny.

They are having tea with tabini , tatiseigi and ilisidi about all this shit.

Bren notices how somber and thinner tabini looked. Turns out he were hiding out in the hills and wearing a red scarf around his neck and assassin outfit.

Damiri and tabini meet their child again. Caljeiri wants to introduce his bodyguard.

Notes From Book 6 Explorer

Okay so done one was able to let me beable to read the book on libby. Also I notices that for some reason on the libby pages are around 652 in this book while it says the book has 408 pages. Could it be a way to move mire words onto a page or something?

Bindanda helps him get dressed for the day. Kind of have to remember that the atevi can make a adult human look like a ten year old in height

He really wants his old job back . He already hates being the lord of the heavens.

Kaplan is there to meet them and jago out side his office on the ship.

Holy shit sabin should not have pissed off ilisidi or she would not have been food poisoned.

Bren and jase are trying to look through the records to try to find proof that there might be more things about the situation.

Bren is now paranoid about potential treachery. 

Jase is like currently 30 years old. Holy hell he has daddy issues / what was i made for? Around his dad figure ramirez. 

For some reason jase and Yolanda was taught culture and history from earth 

Seems like sabin and ogun were in a currently unknown relationship of ship politics.

Nine years so the station may have repaired itself.  

Thry plan on confronting sabin about the whole shit show they are in.

Bren asks banichi to tell the staff that everything is under control.

Kaplan makes some tea for the meeting with sabin.  From what happened last time I don't blame her for taking it at first.

Bren explains to her knowing that ramirez faked the monitor output before seeing the survivor's. 

Damn bren is trying his attempt at diplomacy with a roughly tough old lady.

So ramirez may have had contact with something that the guild known about.

Well shit it looked like they ship folk like tamun were planing to help the humans try to take over the atevi continent. That would not have worked due to mostly those humans hatting doing what the ship folk told em too. Luckily sabin kind of gained acceptance of the atevi. 

The situation was a success, they got alot of info and keeping an eye on sabin for anything new.

caljeiri tells bren that ilisidi asked for him to visit her at breakfast but that time kind of passed for obvious reason.

currently the kid is seven so its been kind of a while.

bren gives a little word about how aijiin have the security defend them instead of gun's , bows and arrows. also the kid is in brens man'chi

he gose to ilisidis study to visist her with cenedi being by her side as always.  its kind of funny how she has the vibes of a disaproving grandmother twords bren being kind to caljeiri.

they discuses what has been going on and the deception of what has been happening. as well as the contrasting theory's of why ramirez was trying to consider doing what he did.

ilisidi says that its gonna be funny when she gets back to grigiji and rub in his face about all the stars she has seen.

bren kind of feels like that sabin is rather unpredictable and kind of reminds him of tatiseigi , ilisidis maybe old lover and  tabini's wifes uncle.

ginny discusses home and the seasons that are probably going on. bren thinks about the fortress of ilisidi's home with the mecheita .  offers to get him dinner when they get back.

they have pizza being made for dinner. from what I remember I think the pizza is green instead of red.

bren praises whos been along for the voyage and Ginny practices ragi to praise the dinner. bren is so happy that this has been a social success .

he is hoping that jase gotten to bed.

after going to bed after looking through notes he made of the day, he and jago did the deed of darkness or as the mospheirans say make love.

damn this feels like a love confession even though it technically is not.

oh shit there is a "oh-god" in the morning news of ship moving in one hour. he thinks of his brother and the world and screwed up the family he left behind.

whist is brens favorite game.

They just adore godzilla . Hamlet was like, confused by Romeo and juliet and horrified and gratified by oedipus.

He wants to join the atevi and feels he is unable to. He is also desperate for answers.

He talks with cajeiri who wants ginnys crew to help him fix his car. Bren only agrees if cenedi wants to. 

Caljeiri I think accurately behaves like a 7 year old. 

It's funny that he has to avoid showing anything to caljeiri that defys authorities like a parent avoiding things with sex in them. The three musketeers is chosen.

Banichi and jago are playing chess and the staff are placing bets.

Bren writes a letter to toby about his moments of homesickness. 

Bren is done and says fuck it he is talking to sabin with the log. Banichi joins him.

He dose get a copy of a log of the encounter of ramirez of the aliens near planet gamma .

he falls asleep trying to find more information and is advised by narani to get a shower, he falls asleep in there as well.

he thinks for a bit about ramirez actions but even ilisidi thinks he should as the parody book gose "Go The Fuck To Sleep"

he talks with jago about the actions of ramirez but unfortunetly even she wants him to rest as well. but then he falls of the bed when jase tells tells him that they might finnaly have something in sight.

he gets the news to jago and ilisidi and everyone else who may need to know.

he is told that sabin is now in charge and warning the poeple of the voyage to take hold as they start to drop . 

bren is so scared that he starts having flash backs to pre and during book one of this time with tabini and ilisidi

bren and his group go to the bridge to see what is happening

ilisidi got a bit snappy with caljeiri about wanting to see the screens of the ship with her cane.

this whole book up at this point is just me adoring ilisidi and caljeiri. 

they got a connection to the station , bren is considering maybe trying to give sabin advice. she just loves calling him bitch or bastard doesn't she?

oh crap something else just caught a signal for them, and its not from the station they are trying to get to.

he suggests to use lights on the ship to try to send a patter response to who ever it may be.

something may have happened and the lights may have worked enough so that they may have to be cautious around what just contacted them . 

bren is gonna try to contact them and not ghost them like ramirez did before. bren is impressed that a phoenix caption actully told the truth. 

ilisidi wants to join the action as well as ginny. also for some reason the station has not even answered any of there questions.

okay so a dude called guild-master Braddock answers them with maybe not get close to where they are trying to go towards.

the aliens flashed more lights that are more better of a message then braddock's.

sabin is complaining about how bren , her , cenedi , banichi , jago , gin and jerry are in the same room as her , saying it ain't a tour. 

bren is still tired as hell but still trying to do what he dose.

sabin is doubting his hope for cooperation with the aliens. 

"works in downtown jackson traffic" such a funny line when you plan to use lights to try to communicate with aliens.

banichi and jago being able to sandwich him between them to keep him from shivering is so funny.

he is able to rea sure banichi about the situation 

hey station , maybe take sabins instructions if you want her to take yours. they say fuck it lets take the aliens route instead

 the aliens are coming to them.

ilisidi gets some tea for bren to talk about the situation at hand. they think it might be a robot or aliens.

the alien ship mimics there ships actions so that it migh be good. 

to not lose more fuel they use beeps from radio to make sounds and images to communicate with the aliens. 

they realize the delays may be because these are aliens instead of organic.

oh shit the aliens are innovating the images they got. they are trying to communicate what happened 10 years ago with ramirez . they drew a little stick figure of themselves.

well shit the guild might be hiding bullshit, great. welp blowing up a random due is one way to piss off an alien and vow vengence.

banichi gives some advice to maybe keep communicating.

yep the guild might have stolen a body or dude. great job guys

bren is goona try to negotiate the body back from the guild.  and is worried that they may be getting over there heads. 

ilisidi is hopeing he is goona sleep.

he is awoken by ginny who is telling them that sabin is not telling the guild anything by giving them the silent treatment.

the station is pissed with there current actions. and they are gonna try to get on board. 

sabin warns everon on the speaker that the stations situation in unknowable so to be cautious.

Its so funny that jase hats the situation that he wants yolandas current job and bren wholeheartedly agrees

jase is corrected by bren the word is eavesdroppers instead of bureaucrats.

ilisidi calling caljeiri a blood thirsty child is so damn funny to me. 

and now things are suspicious , damn it station master Louis Baynes Braddock.

baraddock is already lying , fantastic . sabin is not taking the red tape shit.  they are threatening them with a bomb.

sabin is ignoring his advice and he gets pretty sad a bit.

sabin tells them if they have her they can atleast escape with akers , one of the captions and jase. 

ilisidi is adviced to go below deck. she and almost all of the atevi come along with her.

banichi is also explained about the situation.

they get bren dressed and even give him a gun to protect himself from what ever could happen.

he wakes care of somethings before exiting the ship. he really hates how lonley he is with out those he cares about. 

he realises that some one in his office could see the photo of jase with the fish and realize more stuff was going on then what they though.

he encounters a bunch of humans in the gallery and asks for some basket of sandwiches to take back up to the bridge of the ship. he also warns them that the station might try to take the ship by force and to be carfuel.

well one of the damn station guards is here and jase is trying to keep him from getting mad. its funny seeing bren act like a low ranking , cheery crew member . 

jase is being so damn cool , there is gose off to being damn cool.

hey guild maybe being lying little shits can't help you know.

the gaurd might be suspecting everything. oh shit dose one of the crew members esan might have something contagious.

holy hell bren , kaplan and jase lock the intruder in jases office.

they don't care, whats stopping them from from collectivly beating the shit out of the security from the station is sabin isn't answering?

kaplan , polano and press men with also a few others dragged out the neeted men with out armors or weapons.

jase gose out to tell everyone that they got control of the ship back and to get sabin back. ilisidi also aproves

they call jase taylors son, the man who sacrificed himself long ago to save others and is the source of jase's existence . 

jase is worried that sabin might be a traitor. 

he goes back to the atevi who are pretty happy to see him back. cenedi and cajeiri go to him to congragulate him for his sucess by ilisidi. even ilisidi her self praised him.

bren explains to ilisidi about the little hostage situation for sadin if the guild master tries shit with also the pissed crew.

bren hopefully tries to get to bed.  and thanks ilisidi and cenedi for the advice. 

banichi suggests to take over the station as they help him to bed . thank goodness the gets the rest he needs.

jago is sad to have to wake him up. jase wants to tell him to to try to interrogate there guests.

he tells jago to hide while he deals with this with there guards they have with the ship crew. he also tells her to please sleep.

jase is waiting for him and bren has given him food to eat and also  the prisoners.

he has the little hard fruit candies and give them to kaplan . polano and jase in a way to calm down.

oh shit they have ave got some sick crew members. from the archives in maybe origins.

he is taken to where the prisoners are , in the medial bay. bren tries  to tempt them with food. they do not want to take it.

he is rubbing in their face about how much things are better are back at the phoenix.

damn bren knows how to guilt trip these guys.  he is also just getting to them. 

he dumps the bomb about what is happening to the whole thing that happened those thousend years ago.

becker may not have budged but bren might keep trying.

he is getting dressed to plan to see what is going on with jago and banichi to see what could be.

I need to count when ilisidi hits caljeiri with the cane in this book, cuse it happens a bunch.

ilisidi is a hundred percent done with the stations bullshit and says fuck it we are going to tell the prisoners to stop getting in her way.

its so funny that kaplan calls ilisidi gran sidi . he is also worried they are not gonna be polite as he puts it.

turns out the guild members are looking for the log and they may have found it.

becker is shocked that cajeriji is a 7 year old kid . 

one of the prisoners dropped a bomb shell that there was no dead alien , because the humans managed to get on and hold them prisoner.

they give them a deal to get the families a chance to get on the ship so that they get the fuel and the alien prisoner. hell even becker says fuck it he is helping these poeple to not have there loved ones not be on that damn station anymore.

okay ilisidi wacked cajeriji with her finger this time.

ren comes up with a plan to carry out to invate the ship.

bren admits to jase he took the photo from his office to protect them when the thing would happen. also to tell jase to get some rest.

they talk about the nightmare fuel of senarios that could be dealing with the situation. he also asks jase to get a sleeping pill to rest better.

he tells narani to try to make a bunch of written paper for jase idea on how to get the atevi to not be seen as a threat.

jase sleeps , thank goodness 

he talks with jago to explain to her the disappearance of sabin. 

banichi is so insist on to taking the station. he suggests to use the access to get control of the ship and seek out the location of the prisoner.  banichi is at first weirded our by the plan but he gos around to it.

he suggests to go with banichi to help with the who thing. they also get help from gin and cenedi. 

gin is upset about the robots being used and the translating for robot is roboti

to annoy the gaurds.

he writes a letter to both tabini , toby , his staff and jase about this plan if it gose to shit.

jase Aproved of the plan and warns him of the fact that ramirez's key maybe with ogun or sabin.

the fucking brochures look like travel brochures except for a planet.

 he gets anxious when the numbers are not an odd number. gin , the atevi and him go through. with barnhart with them. 

there is a damaged station waiting for them while they are in a pod. and a shoot out happens.  jago grabs him to shield him from harm.

they slowly make there way to the place . bren Give a brochure to a guy in a man at a desk. stop the guy from trying to call security and get him to find the prisoner. 

is funny how he get some one to look at the brocure befor seeing a scated bren aming a gun to the guys head.

they get to the prisoner then get the hell out with them. seems to blow gas out. they succeed but something might have happened and jase wants to speak with them.

oh shit jenrette is there and hurt with kaplan. esentually the robot plan helped jenrette to get back to the ship to try to help get a message from sabin.

bren suspects that ramirez wanted to go back to take the station from the guild .  he also supects that jenrette may have killed ramirez and is fucking lying. 

wow jase is not having it with jenrette shit. deskbound is a new one. it may have hitted jenrette . holy hell jentrette is one back stabby bastard. wow as a traitor deserves as they say, making him go out to spy again for a parden.

they plan to try to talk to the alien in what way they could.  

bren meets back and finds that his staff got clothes that do not look like shit.

the laine tried to bite poeple. gin is also grieving her robot who heroicly was destroyed to help them. 

sigaiji . a work for a leader who could not get more followers. or  a rouge

poor bindanda having to make new clothes quickly.

cajeiri wants to see the alien but cenedi looks at him to say no.

the aliens name may be prakuyo. its kind of sad and funny that prakuyo just says "Damn Dumb Shit". also brings up Madison 

they get Prakuyo to go to the the dinner and serve the guest tea cakes. they get him some more stuff to eat. 

they use stuff to illustrate and try to explain what happened. ilisidi joins and trys to help in what she can

jases comes up and tells them that he needs bren because the ship is back.

there is a little of a bit of chaos and jase is haveing to explain to braddock to deal with the ship.

during the argument sabin Finnaly is heard. and tries to get the situation for braddock but jase is not taking it.

prakuyo seems okay in ilisidi company . 

braddock is a little pissy that jase gave him the hand in a way. jase and bren try to fidue out what could have happened to cause the situation.

welp a bunch of the poeple are boarding the ship because fuck the guild master. gin says fuck it she is getting the suit to try to fix the shit herself.

bren gets his security and himself to help go with gin.

it takes a good minute to explain how this mob of umans may have come to the ship's door. 

banichi , jago , bren , barnhart and three of ilisidi's men desabi , anaro and kasari are in a lift to see the humans.

getting poeple to evecuate the station is a fucking night mare.

they get into a nasty as hell pelleting of the gaurds and thankfully bren is protected  by his gaurds and still tries to act politely . they are tool that braddock is in his office .

yeah fuck you baraddock fuck you. jag thank you for getting him. barnhart gets the speaker in the office to announce to everyone to start getting of the station.

while he is around he heard sabin and finds jenrette . thay also kind of do not know where gin is. and jenrette is already in everyone's shit list so no one mourns his death

sabins okay and helped them get the fuel for the ship. says hato . word for good in ragi. she just wants her wounded crew aboard the ship.

they kind of startle the refugees but they do make it to the medial. 

the situations a bit chaotic and bren explains what is currently happening and seems like they are still talking to the alien ship.

banichi got a minor cut that bren got a bit worried of. banichi tells branhart that he owes him a drink for the help.

oh my gosh ilisidi , cajeiri , parakuyo and ilisidi and brens staff are watching black and white cartoons.

he finds out jago and banichi with held injuries to keep him from worrying about them 

he explains the situation to ilisidi and what they need to do for parakuyo. parakuyo is a fast ish ragi learner. ilisidi says fuck it lets call up the alien ship for parakuyo. 

bren theories that ragi is easier for patakuyo then english .  jase is a little worried about ilisidi and cajeiri and bren to visit the ship.

they get ready for they whole shit show on the alien ship.

parakuyo Poeple are called the kyo . seems to not want to be included or maybe assimilated .

the ships here to take them abroad to try to settle the 6 year bullshit once and for all.  cenedi , ilisidi , cajeiri and bren are with parakuyo . 

is in a bit of an argument with the ship owners who probably have a long ass grievance with the humans .

the aliens offer the group  a drink to chill the fuck out.

after explaining that the humans and atevi are gonna fuck off back to their solor system cajeiri gives parakuyo his toy car . 

they explain the good news the jase.

Bren writes a letter to toby and tabini explaining the good news that . the assimilation part is due to the kyo being poeple who have a tendency of assimilating others into there nation. 

he fell asleep at his desk writing it for tabini's letter . he gose back to meet with jase , sabin and ilisidi. 

he gets into the seat to get ready to travel back to earth and carejiri got in trobule with dice fron what jago told him.
