what's funny is that everyone's saying like "oh they basically have 24 lives in limited life" but there's a difference between twenty four lives and twenty four hours. like, they can survive on a life for as long as they don't die. I know that seems obvious, but my point is that there's a difference between a set amount of lives and a set amount of time.

I don't know if that made any sense whatsoever, but I'm kind of upset that people think that this gimmick isn't as good as others. No hate if you don't like it of course, but I think that it's a really interesting gimmick.

The qsmp fucks me up everytime i think ab it to hard honestly like these people (not just ccs like fans too!!) separated by such a large language barrier brought together by such an ambitious but like normal idea that a guy had has now created this group of people who are meeting up in fucking paris and talking about their fucking rp eggs like. This is such an insane community and i dont think ill ever stop being impressed by how much work and creativity that these players, admins and quackity have put into this like god this is so cool

I know Batman is dc so my dc recommendation of the day is going to be Arrowfam, starting with green arrow comics. I can't remember specifics off the top of my head but @hawkzeyes is my go to for good arrow comic recs. I'm more of a marvel fan boy though so!!! (Cough, mostly Hawkeye, cough)

My all time favorite comics run is the new avengers 2005 starting with issue #26, great jumping point into the series. It's very fun. Set post civil war, it's messy and fun with a bunch of optional tie ins. Second favorite is Fear Itself. They both require either a little context though or the ability to just go with the flow. I'm happy to fully infodump about either for how to get into them in dms.

The most popular comics I've read and loved in which you don't need really any backstory for are: Hawkeye 2012 (Fraction) and Moon Knight 2016 (Lemire). Great stand alone comics and pretty easy to find because of how popular they are.

The captain america comic that brings Bucky back to life (by the based Brubaker) aka Captain America 2005 was fantastic also. I don't remember if that ones easy to just jump into or not though, but I don't remember having any problems.

1983 Hawkeye is. Very difficult to get copies of. But if you like older comics that and West Coast Avengers are great reads.

I've never really thought I'd be into them but a friend of mine recently recommended The Batman Who Laughs and it's hooking me so far. Any good places for a complete newbie to start? intermission tracy & picky are turning into the antithesis of ness & porky. childhood best friends who never fell out, despite rocky familial circumstances and plenty of opportunities to drift apart. dorky fat kids who grew up getting bullied, but tracy was the one who became more abrasive because of it, but she still never internalized it or took it out on the world. picky by all means should've become a harsh and vindictive person like porky, but continuously chose not to, and therefore was able to maintain his closest bond. neither of them feel like they can really express themselves fully to their families… picky for obvious reasons, tracy cuz her folks & brother are overwhelmingly sunshiney & positive, and prone to worrywarting if anything bad does come up - so there's not much room for her troubles or bitter sentiments. while porky would dismiss ness' problems and one-up them with his own, picky always holds space for tracy's issues, just honored to be trusted, and relieved that neither of them have to feel alone. they move out together cuz they're scared to face the world by themselves, and it's a testament to how much they trust each other. when ness came out as trans (at like age 12) porky went spiraling down a frantic path of projection & repression & fury, and their relationship never recovered. when picky comes out as trans (at like age 21) tracy's like "oh. cool." and then she grows even closer with her, thrilled to help her best friend finally become fulfilled and confident and comfortable in her own skin after all the shit she's been through. they could end up dating, or have a qpr thing going on. in stark contrast with porky's unrequited crush on ness, which he decided to burn the whole world down over.

what if things really could work out after all. what if love and patience really could triumph over your family's mistakes. what if i exploded into a million little pieces.
