One of the most beautiful place on Taiwan, is Taroko Gorge at the East Coast, i read. So, i took a direct train to Hualien, rented a car, grabbed a coffee early next morning and went off to see the landscape. And what a landscape i saw. Nach so viel Stadt und Kultur stand heute Natur auf dem Programm- und das bei strahlendem Sonnenschein und 25 Grad ☀️ Die Chinshuei Klippe ist die höchste Klippe Taiwans und fällt fast 1000 Meter in die Tiefe. 🌊 Wer ein bisschen abenteuerlustig ist kann hier sogar Kayaktouren machen. 🚣‍♂️ Weiter ging es zur Tarokoschlucht im gleichnamigen Nationalpark. Die tiefen Schluchten und steilen Felswände sind absolut beeindruckend, die Straße wurde teilweise in den Fels gesprengt. So I took a #free #IQtest on a website we use that has #career #tests for our #students when they don’t know what they want to do in #life. #Fun test. Results= above average #intelligence. I #laughed, because the test maker didn’t see me on Thursday, #texting my boss that I was going to be late for our meeting because I’d put my pants on inside out. Moral of the story: don’t let a test define you. Swipe 👈📽️ Wenshan-Lushui Trail, 5.5km, 800m max elev, 3hrs ⛰ . About the trail - it requires a lot of climbing using ropes so bring gloves (we didn't). It's an uphill-downhill, sometimes slanted earth trail so make sure you're physically fit and you have enough time to finish the trail, 5-6hrs is recommended. The last 2km sharply goes down and there's no preparing my knees for it. . 🚍 Take Bus 1133A from Hualien Station and get off at Tianxiang, we started from Wenshan instead of Lushui. It's trailhead is inside Taishan Tunnel, about 3km from Tianxiang. Once you reach Lushui, the bus stop is just a few meters walk. . This is the last day of my week-long break, @rikagregorio and I went back to Taipei last Friday night. . I know it's a privilege to be able to go outside when most of the rest of the world is on lockdown, I thank Taiwan Government for the effective and efficient handling of this pandemic, but leaving the city is a much needed break. While the rest of the world were having winter/spring vacation, we in Taiwan has been canceling personal trips as early as February - I canceled two trips.
