I have this general but also maybe oddly specific headcanon that Carlos is an announcer.

Like, bc he likes to be in control and to think and plan before he acts and speaks. He likes his environment being somewhat in his control, and foreseeable.

So when his body is going to do something he can’t control he ✨announces✨ it. TK thinks it’s the most funny and endearing thing.

Like, say they’re at the pool ⛱️🕶️ and let’s say the others have convinced him to participate in shenanigans like trying to balance on a floaty or each other’s shoulders. Right before he inevitably falls or even while he’s actively falling he’ll be yelling out “GaahhImgonnafall!” In that same voice as his “Ohmygod” when he finds out Lou II is sitting on him, while TK is absolutely cracking up🤣

[[When he’s sick🥺 and going to be sick and very obviously about to, with TK rubbing his back and he’ll still have time to say “I’mgnathrowup” and TK, sympathetically, will just keep rubbing his back and say “I know baby, it’s okay.”🥺]]

When he and TK are snuggling on the couch and Carlos is about to sneeze, Carlos will have taken the gasping breath in,. Be making the sneezing face you know the one that’s a combo between 🤨😲🥴 and TK will raise his head a little from where it was resting on his chest and just be looking at him like, amused, raised eyebrows because he knows he’s gonna say it, and Carlos knows why the face, that TK is expecting it and he might even try and hold it back, but still, right before he sneezes, on instinct he announces “I’mgonnasneeze!” And they both collapse into laughter🤣🥰

And! When he’s going to come…. He might double or even triple announce it. One “I’m close” followed by the second “I’m gonna come” and sometimes he’ll go for the third “I’m coming!!”. He does it less and less the more comfortable he’s gotten with TK, but, TK also finds it very hot actually and gets crazy turned on and brought to the brink himself hearing those words so he definitely hasn’t laid off the habit completely. By now it’s just less of a question/warning and more a, well, announcement just bc it drives TK wild😏

Oh Tessa, you want headcanons? Well, you’re gonna get some!!

TK was hesitant to let Carlos get close in the beginning of Season One because he was so freshly heartbroken. He didn’t want to let anyone get close enough to hurt him again.

He’s hesitant to get serious with Carlos towards the end of Season One because he sees himself as so damaged, and he doesn’t think he deserves happiness or love. But even more so he sees himself as a wrecking ball, and he doesn’t want to let himself get close enough to hurt Carlos.

But, once he lets go of all that and decides to give a relationship with Carlos a chance he is all in. You can see it in the first episode of Season Two when he’s all giddy and asking Carlos when he gets to meet his parents. He can’t WAIT, he’s so excited to be a part of Carlos’s life and get to know every little part of him and meet his parents and go to family dinners.

This is why it’s so devastating for TK when Carlos acts like he’s ashamed of him when they run into his parents at the farmers market, and introduces him as a friend from work. He’s finally gotten to a place where he’s ready to open his heart, and he thinks he’s found someone who will treat him well, who’s proud to be with him and wants to include him in every part of his life. And Carlos diminishes their relationship. It’s heartbreaking!

You would find these two slow dancing to Lover, shaking things off, screaming to Ready For it, damp-eyed at Anti-Hero and letting their Bejeweled. Also, TK clearly talked Carlos into both Taylor Swift and into the outfit and he has a billion photos on his phone of Carlos in it.

Here is a headcanon for you 🥰

Even now when he's a married man Carlos still runs around meticulously cleaning the already clean loft when someone says they want to stop by, especially if it's either of their parents.

TK doesn't really get it, having lived with his parents for so long and spending 24 hours at a time sometimes with his friends. But he helps anyway by making sure all the things on the kitchen and table are neat and tidy and also following Carlos around reminding him to breathe and that they won't be judged for having a speck of dust on their bookshelf.

Just saw a video of a guy holding his bearded dragon up to a huge spider with the caption “when you don’t have to call pest control because you have a bearded dragon” and, new headcanon unlocked!: this is one of the ways Carlos comes to love and appreciate Lou II and to not be afraid of holding him. Because holding Lou II is less scary than dealing with a huge spider when TK isn’t home.

Carlos @ Lou II: ‘okay. I’m going to pick you up now but you have to do this for me buddy. Remember, we’re a team. No escaping, no sudden movements. Please be nice’.

Okay but what if instead of having children, TK and Carlos become Animal People. It was only a matter of time, what with TK's adoration of all animals. And Carlos had always enjoyed most animals (not the the degree of TK and his bringing home a flesh eating lizard, but still). Of course, it began with Lou II, but overtime, and often unintentionally, they began gathering more and more pets.

Most of them were TK’s fault. There was that stray kitten TK found trapped in a gutter on a call who he couldn't bear to part with. And TK finds an injured bird outside that he insists they nurse back to health and release. But then, there's an old police dog who needs rehoming and Carlos has always wanted a dog, so they gain yet another furry friend.

Eventually, they have to leave the loft because their lease doesn't allow for all of them, and as hard as TK tries, he can’t pass off a cat and a German Shepherd as the same pet.

And once they get more space, along with all the animals they adopt over the years, they also foster and take-in animals in need when they can. Carlos makes TK promise not to adopt any stray they foster (he breaks that promise immediately). Still, they do have animals come and go. They even foster a snake for a brief period of time which Carlos refuses to be within a few feet of.

And soon they have this little family, maybe not in the conventional way, but they are both dads to plenty of pets who they treat like children anyway.

I adore the everloving fuck out of the proposal scene in 3×18 buuut, it would've been hilarious if, when T.K says "I'll just leave everything to my husband", Carlos had responded with "Wait you're married too?" And the season ends with it cutting to black there. Now that I typed this out doesn’t seem that funny but yeah.
