When I think of my “happy place”, I’ve got so many reasons that my mind goes back to Sweden Maine and the five summers I spent at Camp Tapawingo. In the early months of dating my (now wife) back in 2012, I asked her if she’d like to come with me to my 100 year camp reunion to be held in 2019. It probably freaked her out, me asking her on a date for seven years in the future... but needless to say, I had a hunch it’d work out. ;) Anyways, not only was this past weekend the longest held date I’ve ever had on my calendar, but it was an amazing weekend getting to catch up with so many friends and also see plenty of kids that I knew would turn out to be awesome adult humans, turn into amazing adult humans. (I had a hunch it’d work out. ;) Also, it was great showing my wife a place that means so much to adult me. Happy 50th anniversary to #apollo11! 

To celebrate #apollo50, we look to the the JMM collections: Scrapbook of letters written during Susan Adler's stay at Camp Netemius in PA and Camp Tapawingo in Sweden, ME, Letters from home mention the moon landing, c. 1967-1971. JMM 2008.035.001. 

Letter reads: "Dear Susan, Today was a holiday! The office was closed in honor of the astronauts landing on the moon. It was really exciting to watch on TV." -From Susan's dad, Harry Adler, July 21, 1969. 

Bonus: Another letter from Harry to Susan on July 29, 1969 ends with: "Tonight, I'm going to watch the pictures transmitted by the Mariner spacecraft from Mars on tv. Love, Dad."

Booked And Busy: The Bold And The Beautiful Starlet Headlines Coming-of-Age Comedy

Kim Matula is shooting the coming-of-age comedy, Tapawingo, in central Virginia; she will guest star on IMDb TV's Leverage revival, Leverage: Redemption, premiering July 9.

"Tapawingo" filming has been spotted also at the high school and library in Hopewell. The library's Facebook post began - Lights, camera, action! - and mentions other stars cast in the movie: Billy Zane, Kim Matula, Amanda Bearse, and Blake Clark. [SOURCE]

Regarding her leverage guest appearance, [Kim] plays Krista, a society darling from old Southern money who commands any room she walks into. She is married to her corrupt business partner, Jason. While he’s the salesman, she’s the brains. [SOURCE]

My favourite childhood memory spending time up North at my grandparents cottage with my dad, sister, Gillian,crystal, and Jamie. I would swim, catch crawfish, frogs and minnows, sing and dance, play board games and go horse back riding.

Another favourite childhood memory of mine is going to camp Tapawingo singing around the campfire, tribal and regatta, staff play, singing and smacking our hands on the table at meals, making the turtle pond, going to the waterfall, murder mystery night, and the last day night of camp where we would have a dinner and dance.
