Patara Gorge Waterfall

Patara Gorge (Patara Gorge Waterfall) is a waterfall located in the Chatine region of Lebanon.

Longest drop: 90-100 m (300-330 ft)

The waterfall falls 255 meters (837 feet) into the Bolsa Crater, a cave of Jurassic limestone located on the Mount Lebanon Road. The cave is also known as the Cave of Three Bridges. Traveling from Laqlouq to Tannourine, one passes through the village of Balaa, and the Three Bridges Chasm (in French Gouffre des Trois Ponts) is a five-minute walk to the valley below where one can see three natural bridges, one rising above the other. A chasm hangs down to Mount Lebanon. During the spring thaw, a 90-100 m (300-330 ft) waterfall falls behind the three bridges and then descends into the 240 m (790 ft) chasm.

It was discovered to the Western world in 1952 by French speleologist Henri Couvet.
