drew has some staples to her style, namely a pearl necklace she always wears, and all of her jewelry being silver. she always wears things i can best describe as a subset of the "coquette" aesthetic. pink, frilly, fitted. she has clothes that are only from high-end brands and designers and wouldn't be caught dead wearing something cheap. she just genuinely considers it degrading.

lacy and drew, while technically not related, come from closely intertwined family backgrounds. drew's father and lacy's father had been close friends for many years, and spent a few years having an affair with aphrodite. drew and lacy are effectively much more sisterly together than their other siblings. their fathers are still on good terms with the goddess, and she pays them a visit every so often.

(that also lead to lacy and drew going to the same school together)

it's a joke that makes a comeback every once in a while that on wednesdays they do wear pink. sometimes they decide to take it very seriously and all of them get all dressed up

drew's dad is a wealthy businessman, probably from at least two generations old money

lacy's dad is also quite wealthy, but his wealth is much newer. he probably made it himself, or his parent did.

point is that it showcases the different approaches they have to their wealth. drew, while peacockish by nature, does have the undeniable basic, but quality made pieces she owns, and carries herself with a sort of poise. lacy loves shiny things and would probably be called tacky by many people

when annabeth was redesigning the cabins, drew probably bothered her (tried to charmspeak her and then probably screamed at her) until she gave them extra space (the other cabins don't need to house nearly as many extensive wardrobes)

they are goofy and materialistic, but they also find ways to bond. in their own little ways. like playing dress to impress together, or sharing stories with the younger campers, or giving each other style advice. i think it's a type of love and looking out for each other that most of the other cabins wouldn't get.

For those of you who haven't read The Kane Chronicles, Sadie Kane and Drew Tanaka (from Heroes of Olympus) go to the same school and there is that mean-girl dynamic between them. I see Sadie as being very "ugh i hate her she thinks shes so cool with her lustrous hair and milky skin and beautiful eyes and flawless appearance!!! this emotion is definitely hatred!!" Bi in Denial.

I like to imagine that something attacks the school one day and both Sadie and Drew are trapped together and mutually like "ugh now i have to protect this bitch."

Anyway, I'd have to go back and re-read, but iirc Drew's charmspeak didn't come up much in her brief appearances and I found that pretty surprising. Surely Sadie must have noticed how persuasive Drew can be. A lot of Sadie's frustration with her could easily come from how often authority figures seem to capitulate to Drew's demands, no matter how absurd.

Anyway I imagine Aphrodite looking down on the sexual tension between her daughter and this Egyptian, eagerly munching popcorn.

Sure can! I definitely had to do some digging to remember these two better (& thanks again for helping me out with that :)) but the more i did the funnier this dynamic got and just couldn't resist giving Drew an absolute mess of a weapon.

This is my rendition of the Tanakan Scorpionids from the Alien TTRPG

The Alien RPG book doesn't have illustrations for these guys, so I decided to draw them how I see them in the game I'm gonna run. I've attempted to follow the basic of the description given by the book, which describes them looking like prehistoric sea scorpions, while giving them some "Alien Vibes".

I've personally never been a fan of the trope of an Alien species being "Like this species on earth but..." in my personal opinion an alien species is always more cool when it's completely separated from anything on Earth.

So I gave them a "scorpion" vibes to them but also an exoskeleton as well as an interna endoskeleton.

For their stinger I decided to attached it to a barbed whip. I imagined that the whip would lodge itself into the tail, the opening in the tail where the whip is lodges secretes the venom and the whip and dart coats itself with it when inside.

punk with every fibre of her being. listens to british punk and her leather jacket has so many patches it's almost none jacket anymore

she's very active on tiktok but hardly ever posts anything

when she does read, it's usually romance novels. nothing too hard on the mind.

she loves doing sports to blow off steam. her favourite is kickbox, but she also does often go for a nice jog or stretch in front of the tv in her room while bridgerton plays

she's not too keen on schoolwork - if it doesn't interest her, she'll put in very little effort. she does like english lit, PE, and physics. she's a natural at maths, but it's not like she enjoys it. it's alright.

mostly she watches a lot of shows. but like. they're not good. it's all bridgerton and emily in paris and grey's anatomy and gossip girl. she likes them, though! and probably honestly can't tell if they're "critically good" or whatever the fuck. she probably wouldn't care either
