now playing… so high school by taylor swift.

“don’t i get a kiss for good luck?” he had teased before the game, referring to how she had firmly (but discreetly) pressed her lips to his cheek before his previous match the day before. “it’s kind of a tradition, isn’t it?”

her cheeks had burst into flames. “we’ll see, moonboy,” she replied. “just who do you think you are — percy jackson?”

the corners of kei’s lips spread into a small smile and his eyes gazed softly down at her. “only if you’re my annabeth chase. see you, shortcake.” he tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear, then promptly jogged off to line up with his team.

out of the corner of her eye, (name) could see a smug kiyoko subtly side-eyeing her.

the stadium was erupting in roars. after a long, painful five sets with shiratorizawa, coupled with kei’s injury in the middle of the game, karasuno had finally grasped victory.

the boys were piled on the floor in a tight, sweaty embrace. almost all of them were in tears. the seniors clawed on each others’ jerseys, crying out in relief and disbelief. kiyoko had her hands clasped over her mouth, a steady stream of tears flowing from her eyes. coach ukai and mr takeda (who was sobbing harder than sugawara, daichi, and asahi combined) cheered for joy. hinata was shining with sheer happiness, and even a hint of a smile could be seen on kageyama’s face. yamaguchi had been squashed underneath a pile consisting of tanaka, ennoshita, kinoshita, and narita.

all the way up in the stands, (name) found herself being bounced up and down in saeko’s death-gripped embrace, along with half-conscious yachi. ukai’s friends and kei’s brother, akiteru, had nearly thrown themselves over the railing, cheering and sobbing for all their worth. all of karasuno shrieked themselves hoarse in celebration.

tsukki, who had been tackled by nishinoya, wrestled himself away from the latter’s limbs. kei staggered to his feet and run a hand through his hair. he scanned the crowd to find his favourite person and grinned when his golden eyes fell on hers.

there’s my girl.

kei raised his hand toward the karasuno cheer box and pointed a long, skinny finger at (name), smirking boyishly. he turned his hand over and bent his finger twice, beckoning her to him.

she burst into an excited flurry of laughter, tearing herself away from saeko’s iron grip and bolted down the stairs. kei’s favourite jacket fluttered behind her as she made her way to center court.

there he was, in all his six-foot-two glory, looking back at her with so much adoration it hurt.

he came running over to her, and they met just after she passed the white line. (name) leapt into his hold and wrapped her arms around his neck, half-crying, half-laughing all the while. his big hands had a strong, steady grip on the bottom of her thighs and he smiled such a beautiful, genuine smile as he spun her around.

“oh, my god,” kiyoko whispered from the bench, hiding her giggles behind the clipboard. the rest of the team was too busy celebrating, but hinata noticed the two lovers and let out a strangled noise of surprise. up in the stands, akiteru and saeko whistled and hooted.

“there she is,” kei whispered breathlessly. “there’s my trophy.”

and with that, despite knowing there were over a thousand people in that arena, even though multiple TV cameras were trained on them, and though his team and entire school was watching, the rest of the world melted away for tsukishima kei and he kissed the girl, his girl, whom he would trade the stars and moon for.

karasuno’s cheers grew thunderously louder.

(name) smiled against his lips. “wasn’t i supposed to be the one who kisses you first?”

“yes, but this is our first kiss. both yours and mine,” he muttered in between kisses. “i’m the gentleman here.”

“if you say so,” she chuckled, rolling her eyes.

this time, she initiated the kiss, and tsukki let her tilt his head to the side to deepen it.

“you gonna greet me after every match like this, princess?” he asked when they pulled apart for breath, his eyes lidded.

“i don’t see why not.” she smirked.

their perfect moment was interrupted by a shriek.

“TSUKISHIMA!! DID YOU JUST KISS (NAME)!?” an astounded hinata hollered from across the court. he might as well have broadcasted it to the entire world, although, technically, japan had already seen their sweet moment on TV. little did tsukishima know, his mom was jumping up and down at home for joy.

“HE DID WHAT?” tanaka and nishinoya squawked indignantly. yamaguchi cackled. kageyama stared. sugawara whooped. soon enough, the whole team was ogling at them. even tendou from shiratorizawa seemingly forgot about their loss as he peeked through the net to see what the whole ordeal was about.

“ooh, spicy.”

…yeaaah. there was a lot of explaining to do.

So, something that really makes me laugh is the weird family that is part of the Tsukishimas/Tanakas

It’s starts out with Akiteru and Saeko getting married

Kei is not happy at all

Not only that but he’s supposed to do a speech with Tanaka (who insisted on being called big brother or Ryuu, (Kei called him Little Brother once and Ryuu threw a fit))

At the wedding, they give their speech, people cry and laugh, blah blah blah

Tanaka gets drunk as all hell and confesses his love to Kiyoko, he’s 21 at the time

It sticks with her this time because it’s not ‘I love you marry me!’ Kinda confessions, it’s a sweet soft thing, going through the whole list of why he like her (few are superficial, most about how’s she’s kind and sweet)

She tells him the next morning that she wants to go out

Yamaguchi and Yachi are at the wedding too, as a couple, they drink a little bit mostly watch others break down

Kuroo is there with Kei, as a couple too, but people think they’ve been together for about 4 months (that’s how long they’ve known) they’ve actually been dating since Kei’s second year

Drunk Ryuu and Drunk Saeko attacks Kuroo, going on and on about protecting Kei’s innocence and the shovel talk (he will remain suspicious for the rest of his life, but still loves him for Kei)

Kei laughs and pulls Kuroo away,

By the end of the night; Akiteru, Saeko, and Ryuu are wasted, Kuroo and Kei are missing, last seen drunk and kissing in a corner, Yamaguchi, Yachi, and Kiyoko are tipsy

The next morning, they all head to the Tsukishima home, Akiteru’s mom makes curry and a hangover cure for the wasted folks

Yamaguchi (the demon) plays the videos from last night, Kei admits that Kuroo and him have been dating for years

Everyone is shocked except Ryuu, Tadashi, and Yachi

8 months later, Kiyoko and Ryuu are getting married,

During their wedding, Ryuu somehow ropes Kei into getting black out drunk

It ends with Kuroo carrying Kei to the hotel, princess style, Kei babbling on about how he loves him and about their wedding

A drunk Kuroo cries and they end up getting a noise complaint

Kiyoko and Ryuu have two kids, a boy and girl, twins

They are confident and a little loud but the boy has more poise and the girl has more spunk; They both have their moms good looks but Ryuu’s eyes and hair,

Akiteru and Saeko have two boys and a girl, in that order

The eldest has more of Saeko’s personality but is quiet, and more enthusiastic about what he likes; has Carmel hair, Saeko’s eyes and Akiteru’s face shape and body, his hands are thicker

The middle boy is surprising like Kei in personality, more sarcastic but gets fired up easy; he has Saeko’s hair color, her more slender face, Akiteru’s body structure and more slender hands

The youngest is Akiteru in personality but can get quiet; she has oddly Kei’s bright blond hair to her shoulder, heterocromia (one eye Saeko’s, one Akiteru’s), Saeko’s body but less curves, Akiteru’s sharper jaw

Unfortunately, gay marriage isn’t legal in Japan but if it was Kuroo and Kei’s wedding would be formal

Kei would take Kuroo’s last name, their rings are black with a moon and a cat engraved on them, Tetsu getting the moon, Kei getting the cat

Their kids (if biological in an abo world), would be a boy and girl, not twins

Tetsu’s smirk, Kei’s sarcasm, but is very kind and mischievous, she will plan pranks on people; she has Kei’s long legs and eyes, Tetsu’s black hair, shoulder length and it’s a mess, she can get the length straight but her bangs get messy

The boy has Kei’s hair, Tetsu’s eyes and bad bedhead (but not in the same style) and bulkier frame; he is more quiet, and introverted but will add an occasional jab, and will go along with his sisters plans because he is just as mischievous as her

They also have two cats,

Yamaguchi and Yachi do get married and if it’s the summer, she wears a floral princess dress

Everyone from Karasuno is there (same as Ryuu’s wedding)

They have a one girl and a large dog

The girl has blond hair, Yamaguchi’s eyes and freckles, and Yachi’s petite frame; she is very nervous and has social anxiety, is sweet but gets roped into chaos, and eventually becomes confident, she protects what she loves and can get loud if pressed

Their family is odd and full of chaos but everyone loves each other, even if Ryuu is still suspicious of Tetsu

Not gonna lie I ship saeko and akiteru so much. One because they are chaotic and I love it.

Two.. Because if those two get married tanaka and tsukishima would be brothers in law and I think that would be hands down the funniest thing ever.

so there’s that whole ‘akiteru and saeko get together’ in a ton of fics and everyone talks about how Tsukishima would be so embarrassed that he and Tanaka are now related but I think that he secretly loves it??

Like throughout the entire series Tanaka is the one who makes fun of the team with him, intimidates the other teams, and Tsukki listens to him(for the most part).

Idk I just think that Kei and Ryu would hate big family get togethers but they would only hate it on principle but they would hate it together and wreak havoc😌

part 1

as she gets older, natsu calls her brother “old man,” primarily because of his coin purse. it looks like a grandma’s.

kuroo doesn’t actually like chemistry all that much, he just knows a lot. he likes math; it’s consistent and analytical, just like him. it’s also known as a universal language, and we know how much he likes connecting people together. (cough cough timeskip kuroo cough cough)

you thought hinata’s bathroom song was the only one he made up? no. he has around six different versions. he also has other songs for other mundane tasks, like cooking for natsu or finding his pencil or something.

speaking of his songs, hinata’s really good at improv and imitation. if he weren’t a volleyball player, he could certainly be a performer.

kuroo’s favorite branch of math is algebra and calculus. (TRIGONOMETRY SUCKS AND DUB BOKUTO AGREES.)

after graduating, kenma and kuroo go to different colleges/universities. kenma’s a lot busier in uni, so he doesn’t join the volleyball team. but kuroo does, and that’s how he realizes what job he wants. (cough cough timeskip kuroo cough— i will never shut up about him.)

goshiki got a lot of praise before high school, so he’s either an only child or the youngest sibling.

i feel like aone has two moms, i dunno.

ushijima’s first word was a full-on sentence. it was “i don’t want this, is there anything else?” when his grandmother was feeding him mushed carrots. (the answer was a no and a stern talking-to.)

yachi’s parents are divorced. she lives with her mom and hardly sees her father.

in tobio’s second and third year, miwa watches his volleyball games. she doesn’t regret dropping volleyball, but she sure misses playing it. she also becomes good friends with akiteru and saeko. (maybe tenma if he swings around.)

when he was in college, iwaizumi would get love confessions. his immediate response is always “sorry, he’s not free” and leave. (i saw a comic about this— like iwa, no... they’re for you, not oikawa)

— fun fact of the day: the third and second years at karasuno (minus noya and asahi) have a type. i’ll write a crack fic about that one day.

So... I can’t stop crying with every chapter of Haikyuu!! Too many emotions. I just want them to have fun, and they seem to be having it, but some of them won’t at the end and I’m crying. Anyway here are my highlights,

(continued). 4. kiyoko is really into pottery. 5. tendou likes birds, he thinks they're neat. 6. ushijima strategizes out loud to his plants. 7. hinata is crazy flexible. it's freaky. 8. idk if this counts as a hc but akiteru and saeko. that is all. 9. yamaguchi is still a bit of a crybaby. he cries when he sees something that's too cute. he cries at sad movies (and tears up at movies that aren't even that sad), he ABSOLUTELY cries on his wedding day. 10. yams still sleeps with a stuffed animal

4) Kiyoko started to get really interested in pottery after she quit the running team. She had a lot of time on her hands and their home already had a room for pottery since it used to be her grandparents. So she starts out with the little knowledge she had about pottery after watching his grandparents from when she was little. The first few comes out kind of lumpy looking, some crack in the oven and some she breaks when she puts the glaze over. But when she reaches her last year of high school, she has gotten really good and often makes gift and such for her family and friends. 

5) Tendou used to have two little birds when he was little. Birds are actually really playful and cuddly when they are let out of their cage to bond with their owners. And Tendou knew this, so he often spent his evening bonding with his birds and reading them cool facts of an animal book he had. He thought they could fully understand him, but as he grew up he understood that that wasn't completely true. And after his birds passed on, he often just finds himself admiring them when he sees particular birds that reminds him of those he had. 

6) Not used to having a lot of friends and not being that talkative, Ushijima used to find himself a little restless about his passion for volleyball. He didn’t have a lot of people to talk about. His dad worked over seas and his mother tried, but never really understood the hype about it. So he started to talk about volleyball plants when he helped her mother out in the grader or with the house plants. Of course, it wasn’t a lot of difference, but at least he had someone to talk about. After he gets more friends he can be open with, he still find himself talking to his own plants when he tend to them- just out of old habit.

7) I have a hc that hinata may have been the usual goal keeper  when he played football before he started on volleyball. Which would explain his stamina and his ability to jump so high. His coaches always stressed out that they needed to be flexible to prevent injuries and HInata took that to heart. SO every morning and night, he does a little stretching routine. It often changes, since he focuses on different body parts. He always set a challenge for himself to get better. So one time Tanaka was going to help him stretch after practice, he freaks out when Hinata shows him that he can do the splits.

8) Akiteru and Saeko knew of each other when they went to high school.They weren’t friends, they actually didn’t really care for one another too much. But when they are reunited because of their little brothers; a friendship started to build and they often go out drinking and hanging out when they can. They live in different cities, so it’s hard to make time sometimes. 

9) To be honest, I am not too much fan of crybaby Yamaguchi. It’s just not my cup of tea...but to answer the hc you have : Yamaguchi has always been open with his feelings. His parents thought him to be honest with them and honest with himself. So he just doesn't mask it- he doesn’t try to mask it. His parents often let him rant and cry out his frustration if they see him starting to close up. If he watches a movie that hits home, like if he sees the characters being bullied- of course he would feel for it. He went through similar things. I don’t necessarily think he will cry because something is too cute, but he often just says; it’s so cute, I’m gonna cry. Without doing so though. And I don’t think he will cry at the smallest of things. Since that is more worrying for me that actual cute. People cry to release strong emotions, so for me it doesn't make sense that he will just start bawling out of the smallest of things. I think most people cry a little bit at their wedding day. At least they feel the urge to cry at some point. So nothing out of the ordinary there. 

10) Yes, I have that hc myself. He has a few that always just rests on his bed, but one particular that he likes to hug when he sleeps. It makes him feel secure and not so alone. That is why he is often seen clutching his pillow at training camps. It’s because he doesn’t have his plushie to squeeze.
