I want to dismiss this as just a movie. Such things happen in real life too. In fact, a couple of years back, a similar incident happened just a kilometre away from my home. A drunk truck driver ran over a fruit shop and killed the shopkeeper and customer inside the shop.
Btw VJS was really good in this scene. First, not reacting in shock and disbelief and then those silent tears when the reality of the situation sank in. He portrayed the man who witnessed his entire world crumble before his eyes.
Did you notice when the figurine sculpture fell from Maharaja's hand, the mother got shattered, but the child remained intact? Thus, foreshadowing the fate of Maharaja's wife and daughter.
I think many people will agree with me when I say the final part can make much more sense
Ok so getting straight to the point - Leo definitely does not give 2 fucks at all about a ‘drug free’ environment. BUT the connection can make much more sense in 2 or more ways-
1. Maybe with das & co being demolished and most probably all the drugs are gone aswell.maybe in an attempt to be back in business after the factory was initially burned 1999, they somehow got stuck under rolex who’s Ofcourse not happy that another batch of his drugs are gone,so he’ll prolly start tracking the culprit, leo and all because of that leo decides to join vikram and the boys
2.leo and rolex could somehow have bad blood from the past and leo could find out that joining vikram could mean he could get his revenge or something on Rolex,so he joins him just for that.
கண்ணிக்கனி(Kannikani) is the word the author is referencing. Banger essay btw, it is A good woman, a very good woman: Tamil cinema's women by C. S. Lakshmi in Tamil Cinema - The cultural politics of India’s other film industry.
One of Jayam's Ravi's best work (besides Ponniyin Selvan of course!) was Thani Oruvan. I am so glad that Nayanthara is coming back for the sequel since most of the times directors change the lead actress for sequels which is wrong on so many levels. Would be interesting to see who they bring for the role of the villain as Arvind Swamy was fantastic in the original. Also, looking forward to some great songs as the music was amazing in the last album.
I can't be the only one who watched Blue Star and thought that Rajesh started developing a crush on Ranjith. Please someone agree with me. Oh, my shipper heart. ❤️
