The Dawn of Tantra
The year before Trungpa Rinpoche made Osel Tendzin his regent. and many years before he crowned his son as the Sakyong, Trungpa gave a seminar in Berkeley, California. The year was 1972, and he joined Herbert Guenther at the podium to introduce this new thing called Tantra. One of the difficult topics on that agenda was the guru-disciple relationship. Here is some of what they said that day:
"Having first gone through the shamatha and vipashyana practices, and the four foundations of Mahayana, the student might be ready to have a glimpse of the guru... to make a real commitment to the guru. This is where 'guru yoga' comes in... attaining union with the guru. This union is initiated through what is called abhisheka, which could be translated as initiation or confirmation. This is our entry into the dharmakaya level.
The relationship between guru and disciple is of tremendous importance in Buddhist spiritual transmission, and that relationship is based on trust. But before such trust can be developed, there must be a period during which the guru tests his disciple. Because of the intimacy of that relationship, whatever happens between the two is vital to the teacher as well as the disciple. If something goes wrong, it reflects on the teacher as well as the disciple. The teacher must know better than to accept a student who is not ready to receive the teaching he has to offer.
And because of the intimacy of that relationship, the student must also in his way test the teacher. He must scrutinize him to see if he is really able to transmit the teaching... see if his actions tally with his words. If the conditions are not met on both sides, the relationship is not worthy to be engaged.
The term 'guru' is an Indian word, which has now almost become part of the English language. But properly used, this term does not refer so much to a human teacher as to a shift in attention from the teacher to the teaching (dharma) itself. The human person might more properly be called the kalyanamitra, or 'spiritual friend.' The actual term 'guru' has a more universal sense. The kalyanamitra is just a human who can point the way to the guru.
So it is important that we recognize that the real guru is the dharma and not confound that with the kalyanamitra in the manner of a mere personality cult. This relationship between the guru and the kalyanamitra is not a simple equation. Still, the kalyanamitra can be recognized as one able to show the knowledge which the student requires as a vital factor in his spiritual growth.
In the guru-disciple relationship there is a continual oscillation between success and failure. Sometimes things go smoothly. This is a fine thing; but that may also introduce a new danger. We may become too self-sure, too confident that everything is going to come out as we would like it. Complacency builds up. So sometimes the failures that arise are important too. Out of this experience of failure we come to see things in a new light. And if the person is intelligent, he will learn from the mistakes he has made."
~ Excerpts from 'The Dawn of Tantra' by Herbert V. Guenther and Chogyam Trungpa.
Prophetic words indeed!

oh mighty love guru I am about to start a new Skyrim game but I don't kbow who to romance. Taliesin,Gore or Kaidan. Bless me with thy wisdom.
I wouldn't go so far as to call me a love guru, but I will say that as of this post, to my knowledge only two of those three are romanceable. I could recommend one of them, but where's the fun in that? Download all three (even though Tally isn't a love interest yet, he's still a sensational companion and friend) get to know Kaidan and Gore and romance whoever feels right to you. I personally enjoy both of their romantic quest lines, but I can't tell you who to love. Try them both out, see who you mesh with.
Happy adventuring and thank you for the ask!

28.03. 21:28 | Ilo Pisara vs BACKCHECK BOYS 6 - 7
Ladies and gentlemen, gather 'round for the tragicomedy that was Ilo Pisara's latest performance. A 6-7 loss to BACKCHECK BOYS with a shots tally as pitiful as my grandma's attempt at Snapchat - only 18! VETOJA HYVÄT HERRAT! Teppo Winnipeg, our "Puck Moving D," moved everything but the puck towards the net it seems – zero shots on goal. With defense and offense ratings like his, we expected him to part seas, not just pass pucks. Yuri Tarde in goal... more like Yuri Late-to-the-Save. Seven goals against from fifteen shots? He must've thought he was swatting flies rather than stopping pucks. Macho Fantastico and Jani Saari tried their best upfront; Macho with his hat-trick heroics turned giveaway guru (12 giveaways!), while Jani seemed to think this was a solo mission scoring three but forgetting hockey is a team sport. This game will go down in history alright – as an example of what happens when you confuse hockey sticks for selfie sticks: lots of posing but no real action. Let’s remember folks, Rome wasn’t built by watching others do all the work; let’s get those skates dirty next time!

Officer 187 - How many people has Paul Lozada shot – and why don't his bosses know?
by Adam Clay "A.C." Thompson
It starts with a bullet. At about 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 23, 2003, a burly undercover cop named Paul R. Lozada opened fire on a suspect named Andre Reid, who was sitting in a black Honda SUV in a Walgreens parking lot on Third Street. Reid was wanted for allegedly trying to kill two people in the Potrero Hill housing projects.
Publicly, the San Francisco Police Department portrayed the shooting as unavoidable, saying Lozada had acted in self-defense when Reid tried to flatten him with the SUV.
But behind the scenes some of Lozada’s superiors weren’t so sure. In fact, the Reid shooting prompted department brass to start scrutinizing the cop’s history. They discovered Lozada has quite a propensity for firing bullets at people – one high-ranking officer circulated a remarkable internal memo suggesting the cop has been embroiled in more than 20 shooting incidents.
“20+ shootings in less than 15 years of service requires a thorough investigation and it is the obligation of his supervisors to do so,” then-commander James Dudley wrote in the April 22, 2003, memo.
Lozada, who was assigned to the Violent Crimes Task Force, told Dudley he was wrong; he’d actually only been involved in eight shootings, including the bullet he’d directed Reid’s way.
“It was eight shootings where I had to discharge my weapon,” Lozada told the Bay Guardian. "But I was involved in well over 100 life-and-death situations. Do you think I would’ve received medals of valor for these shootings if I’m as bad as they say I am?“
By Lozada’s tally, he’s hit "five or six” people.
Whatever the case, the numbers amazed the law enforcement gurus we interviewed. “I don’t know how the hell you’d accumulate 8 to 20 shootings,” said D.P. Van Blaricom, the former police chief of Bellevue, Wash., and an expert on the use of force. “Most officers are never involved in one shooting.”
But Lozada isn’t your typical cop. The decorated 41-year-old officer talks like a street hustler, favors fine Italian suits and designer shoes, and once described himself in an interview as a “gangster.” Midway through his career, he voluntarily took badge number 187, the penal code designation for homicide. To some on the force, he’s a hero, a man who’s made scores of gutsy arrests while assigned to some of the toughest units. To others, Lozada’s a nightmare, a thuggish figure with a penchant for blurring the line between cop and criminal.

And the max might be using the Trump's to try and locate the computer and Saturn is very big and they're having a hard time seeing anything
Zues
It's a very romantic song for he and I and some of you trying to ruin it. I hope the girl get him to the car to watch on the video he wasn't in the car see it going 300 miles an hour and he said the experience is unique but she didn't seem to care about it I wish it was odd too she said she's gone a lot faster and a lot of people have it's very dangerous and there is equipment no so there is equipment it's just not using it so she asked what it was and it's hard to ask is the escape stuff eject stuff all sorts of things so she started looking into it and it's going to use it and I guess I think she's some sort of heart attack guru so they send her up there and we forgot to say it was the machine had him do it and he did say there could be a ghost in the machine he did say why but the machine would have to be there still too recording he wants to see who's going there and what they're doing and it has to get the information out this is going on right now getting information the machine is
Hera
I'm going to use our controls now this place is a nut House and that was disastrously gross last night but helpful these dumpsters are damn nuisance but as he says if not them the next party will become rancidly evil and the max will push them around and they'll be doing this on job and it is very true they're trying to locate us and try to locate this computer and they're trying to do a lot of things and they think it's a nice deal and they can threaten using him and his it's going to come to a close shortly for the trumpsters they're going to court again today in Charlotte county on trial for murder several of them. There's other reasons in the midwest they're targeted and they're going after stuff that they retrieved and really they don't have any place to store it it's not true they found out where they're storing it partly in Nevada partly in New Zealand in Canada but towards north part of the upper Midwest it's really in Michigan and other places like that now people don't want to believe this but that's what's happening there are other reasons why the trucks are a pain but there's reasons they're going after them when is they have our son surrounded and have been messing with him Non-Stop for like 35 years or more and they know what it is and they're going to come and take it out on him very soon and they're finding a lot of stuff that they took was theirs and a lot of the information and they want it back it's going on now. He's also another case opening against him and it's in Michigan and it is about the election fraud and there is a huge case opening in DC and it is the January 6 committee pushing the doj and for much earlier date and it came out to do late last afternoon and yesterday and it said we need to get the state out as soon as possible and the Court's talking about it and they're talking about December 1st and moving on it now with a lot of people behind it they're clearing his out of the government these what they usually call midterm elections it's a little past it governors mayors senators Congress people whatever their time ends up being up this is like the last round before the presidential race so far the trumps have lost about 40% of their seats of power that they had and they gained 3% so the last 37% and that's of what they had total that is a lot it's getting towards half and it's not over yet there's still several states that haven't been tallied and we're talking about the world too and their elections going on all the time by the end of next week we think that have lost 55 to 60% and it's going down and tonight Halloween and Friday the 13th are on again in the Midwest and it's part 8 and they get destroyed that's the trumps to lose and they are getting beat up all the time everywhere for stuff in the city and they're finding out they're taking tons of gold it's really not going well for them people looked at what he said it's just sitting there pissing them off having her piss him off about what Jane was doing 10 was doing she's a dan was doing. They took some pretty good things and this morning they started taking some massive hits and they're saying all sorts of stuff about her son and what he says is just starting with me now we're going to finish it and my group will take care of you and we are and we go out there and wipe them out and take their stuff they feel it back up over and over and then Trump's come in and people don't attack them out and we take the stuff that's what we did and what we're doing we're going to take the buildings too. They're modular but most of the structure is going to be damaged from people taking stuff out and they have to come down they're not safe and we are holding off areas because of it and people see why pretty soon we're just going to rip them out and melt them down and start building cities and the area where we were talking about I swear Brian was swinging the seaweed around. And yeah he's the guy that owns the newspaper and it's a massive s*** they say we're going to publish

Can The Best Astrologer In Toronto Resolve Your Relationship With The Birth Chart?
Do you have problems in your life? Yes, of course, everyone has. So if you're in a relationship or aiming the same. So how do you tackle the issues or complications that arise during it, or what steps do you take to cure them? You might be thinking of healing it with consulting or any advisor's help. But these steps can only make solutions if you have a problem. According to the best astrologer in Toronto, sometimes you both are not responsible for complications; it is the misconceptions in your birth chart.
You must hear about the birth chart reading, where a reader analyzes your birth details such as birth timing, location, and day. Then he tallies those details with the astrological values, like where the planets and constellations were when you were born? Now you must be thinking, how does this affect my love relationship? So before going through it, you just need to understand the fundamental working concept of Astrology.
How astrology affects your life?
People often understand astrology as predicting the future and giving insights into your future. But wait, your life doesn't need to get bloomed if you know your lot. There is something else you need to understand, which is your connection to the universal. After all, this is the main root form in which you're bound. This is what you got when you came under the influence of an astrologer in Ajax.
According to him, astrology studies understanding your bond and connections to the moving celestial bodies. The correction and modification you do after getting information about your planetary movements leads you to a happy life. This is what a good astrologer has expertise in; thus, he guides you based on these insights to balance your life.
So, it's time to find out how the best astrologer in Burlington can influence your love relationship with the help of a birth chart study?
By Finding correlation: No matter whether you are already in a relationship or seeking one if you want to correct things, the correlation between both issues. Thus, after reading, the astrologer will tell you how you make things balanced and related to each other.
Removing Deformities:
As astrology works on getting the vibrational details between humans and planets. You can only be in love with someone if your vibrations get in sync with them. When this frequency gets misbalanced, you find it tough in bonding. Thus, here the astrologer finds those deformities and cures them accordingly.
Understanding their nature:
After getting the details of both birth charts, an astrologer guides you to the points you both possess in common and those you miss. You don't need to force the other one to be with you; it just needs a bit of time and effort to be corrected.
Changing yourself:
It doesn't always need to change or correct the other person; sometimes, you must work on yourself. But how did you get to know this? Just by sitting in a session with an astrologer in Ajax. He openly distributes every imperfection in front of you so that you can cure those issues.
Conclusory
Altogether, if you want an incredible enhancement in your life and know how you're influencing your loved ones, then you just need to get in touch with the best astrologer in Burlington, Guru Devi Ji. He gained years of experience reading birth charts and serving solutions to thousands of people. You can contact him directly through his email or phone.

‘Clean Eating’ & the Capital-colonialist obsession with purity & immortality
One of the reasons I really really push for people to understand that there is an element here of haywire asceticism in response to our fucked up society, and because it's not addressed or treated as such, and because it is done in such a society as ours it is entirely dysfunctional- is because I think when this point is missed, the core of this mindset is not properly treated.
I had orthorexia. It was easy to slip into as I was a person who was trained into the medical field and went into alt med and nutrition.
First step: People who recognize that there ARE problems with our society's way of living look to educate themselves and self heal.
From there you will find all sorts of information, some of it true, some of it false, most of it exaggerated, almost all of it based on misplaced fear and guilt. Out of this comes all sorts of desperate and absolutely crockpot ideas about eating and living, and look to distance themselves as much as they can from them. Around every corner is paragraph after paragraph, book after book about how harmful little things can be, from french fries to thermal receipts to eating fruits and cheese at the same time. The information gradually escalates from Uncomfortable Truths to Panic-Inducing ‘Factoids’. This is not just on blogs, it is in books and classrooms.
Second step: People see our society and the disease it fosters, and look for a way to control and mitigate the effects of a society/lifestyle that seems otherwise confusing and dangerous.
And here is the point where the scales really tip, but something I don’t see talked about enough: Because this is at its core a sort of counter-culture movement associated with non-traditional spiritualities, Religious edicts about fasting as a facet of asceticism and one’s spiritual refinement are seamlessly inducted into the ‘diet’ as part of a Holistic Lifestyle. What would otherwise be understood as temporary fasting states done as part of a guided spiritual practice are now appropriated out of context as an entire lifestyle.
Third Step: Confuse temporary or extreme (either way, not meant to be constant) fasting exercises with daily lifestyle and then co-opt and appropriate spiritual texts/histories to buff up ‘scientific’ justification for calorie restriction (that also tends to be intended temporarily and under an authority’s treatment, such as restricted diets for cancer patients).
This is SO easy to generate AND overlook because it is blended with cultural appropriation and fueled by a valid and desperate need to correct what speaks to many as an unsupportive lifestyle. But as with many heads of this movement’s hydra- the underlying issue of CAPITALISM AND COLONIALISM having altered our diet and lifestyles for the worst- the fact is that it’s actually based on something but that something is never actually addressed because a) white people- the core pushers, participants and profiteers of these vegan-clean eating-moral dieting-skinny purity cultures- are historically incapable of locating the actual core of the issue- the fact that colonization has drained meaning, joy and nutrition out of ppls lives- and instead project their fixation with purity, lightness and fineness onto food instead. And b) people can’t individually resolve and control being affected by Capitalism & Colonization.
And what often happens when people end up struggling against something external they have no control over?
My time with Orthorexia was blessedly brief, and I realized something had gone wrong when I was seriously considering the glucose level of a bowl of grapes. Having gone into alt med and nutritiion with an intent to help people live well surrounded me with lots of helpful info (herbology, dietary chem, etc) but it also meant I was inundated with the guilt-projecting, fear fueled narratives of so so so many absolutely batshit people trying to escape persecution and death.
That’s the other thing: the people in these communities, these book writers, food gurus etc? They are terrified of dying and have done very very little internal work about it.
Overall, this entire phenom is literally a perverted form of spiritual practice (meant to be a TEMPORARY mind/body experiment done only by experienced practitioners!) that, rootless and doing its best not to take stock of its bloody, exploitative reality, obsesses as usual with Purity, Immortality and fear of Persecution they subconsciously feel is coming in retribution for ‘incorrect’ ways of living. It is deeply spiritual at root and that’s EXACTLY why it’s so dangerous.
Anyway watch out.

A3! Translation: Mankai Livestream! ~LIVE: Citron~ (Brilliance of Blooming) [1/2]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For once I actually owned the card myself so I can put images in lol I don’t think we’ve seen this one around yet, and I kind of get why,,, _(:3」∠)_ but it was still fun to try my hand at!
The translation is under the cut. If you see anything that doesn’t seem right, please let me know!
[Part 1 - You’re Here!] [Part 2]

Mankai Livestream! ~LIVE: Citron~
Izumi: Kazunari-kun will be joining our leader meeting today.
Kazunari: Heya fam~!
Banri: You think something up again?
Kazunari: Bingo, Settzer!  There’s a little something I wanna do.
Kazunari: Basically… we gave the fans a project survey on what sort of things they wanna see us do~!
Sakuya: A project survey?
Izumi: Yep.  At Kazunari-kun’s suggestion, we sent one out to the fans.
Kazunari: Right now, thankfully the MANKAI Company’s majorly boosting its recognition!
Tenma: True, we’ve gained a lot of new fans too.
Kazunari: That said, there are people who’ve been supporting us for a long time that say we’ve gotten distant, so it’s a little lonely.
Kazunari: But we wanna be a company that’s close with all its fans no matter how big our name gets, right?
Banri: Got it.  So you did a survey.
Tsumugi: What were the results?
Kazunari: The most common answer was, “I wanna see more selfies and inste-lives and stuff from the company members!”
Tenma: Our inste-live frequency does vary from person to person.
Tsumugi: Same for our selfies.  We might have a tendency to rely on our social media gurus, basically.
Kazunari: So!  As a special project, this time I suggest we have solo inste-lives and selfie parties for 24 days in a row!
Banri: Selfie parties?
Kazunari: If you take selfies during a livestream and then upload those pictures afterwards, it’ll hype the fans up even more!
Izumi: When we discussed it with Sakyo-san, he said it would be fine as long as I properly keep watch to make sure there are no problems mid-stream.
Kazunari: So now it’s up to you guys… how ‘bout it?
Sakuya: I want to do it!  If the fans would be happy to have them, then of course, but…
Sakuya: Personally, I’d be happy to have the chance to talk to all our fans through a screen too!
Tsumugi: I’d like to give it a try as well.  I feel like I’m understanding inste-lives little by little, too.
Tenma: But it’s not like we can just chat about whatever, right?
Kazunari: About that, I was thinking we could do another survey about what they want each member to do.
Banri: In that case, it’d probably be easy enough to work out.
Izumi: Since each inste-live would be different, it could be interesting.
Kazunari: Then it’s decided!  Leave the form drafting and tallying to me!
Sakuya: Thank you very much, Kazunari-san!
Izumi: Alright then, leaders, please share the inste-live and selfie plans with the members of your troupe.
Leaders: Roger!
Tumblr media
Citron: Ohh, there are so many nice ideas!  Just to read them is chilling.
Chikage: I’m back.
Citron: Chikage, you are welcomed home~
Chikage: What are you doing in a place like this?
Citron: I am reading the surveys that Kazu gathered!  The requests for me are written on them.
Chikage: Ah, for the solo inste-live?
Citron: Yes!  Everyone thought of many different things, so I am very happy~!
Chikage: Oh?  What sort of answers are there?
Citron: “I want to do something fun,” “I want him to give me energy,” “I want to see a MANMAN Grand Prix…”
Citron: Ah, there is also one that says, “I would like to see the concentrated purgatory you talked about sometime before!”
Chikage: Concentrated purgatory? …ahh, shiritori? (1)
Citron: That!
Chikage: Come to think of it, you mentioned something like that in an interview at some point.
Citron: The sushi theme lasted the longest!
Chikage: Since everyone had just gone out to eat that time.
Citron: Hmm, now that I have talked about it with you, I think I want to do shiritori.
Citron: I have decided!  I will do shiritori for my solo inste-live!
Citron: I am sure all the fans will enjoy it as well.
Chikage: Yeah, it fits you so it should be good.
Citron: But, shiritori cannot be done alone.  I want you to enter as my opponent, Chikage!
Chikage: That might be difficult, I have work the day of your livestream.  Sorry, but you’ll have to face off against someone else.
Citron: Oh… that is such a shame.  That would mean Itaru is iffy too.
Citron: Then this time, I will ask someone else.  I will have a battle with you and Itaru some other time!
Notes:
1. Instead of shiritori (しりとり), Citron said “spot removal” (シミ取り, shimitori)

Resident Evil Village: Lady Dimitrescu and the Real Serial Killer Who Inspired Her
https://ift.tt/3y288W8
Resident Evil Village, Capcom’s newest vision of horror, unleashed its villain, Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, onto the world in January, and the internet has hardly been the same since. Before we’d even seen anything substantial from the new game, the nine-foot “Tall Vampire Lady” was already the sequel’s most popular character, the subject of countless memes and even a few…salacious mods and videos.
With the release of the game this month, Dimitrescu’s star is shining even brighter. We just can’t stop talking about our Lady. And when you hear who the developers at Capcom turned to for inspiration when creating this character, you get the sense that she was always destined for infamy, designed specifically to go viral.
One major influence, according art director Tomonori Takano, was the Japanese internet urban legend Hasshaku-sama (or “hachishakusama”), an eight-foot-tall evil spirit in a wide-brimmed hat who lures her young male victims to her by imitating the voices of their loved ones. Impossibly tall, pale as a corpse, and wearing a wide-brimmed hat, the resemblance is uncanny.
But it’s Dimitrescu’s more gruesome, real-life inspiration that will likely keep you up at night. To create a bloodthirsty lady of a castle with a taste for torturing and mutilating her victims, Capcom needed only to look to Hungarian noblewoman and convicted serial killer Countess Elizabeth Bathory. One of the most wicked figures of 16th-century Europe, Bathory is said to have tortured and killed up to 650 girls and women between 1590 and 1610, although the final tally of victims is disputed to this day.

Resident Evil Village: Megamycete, Mold, and Cadou Parasite Explained
By Matthew Byrd
Even centuries after her heinous crimes, there’s still much we don’t truly know for sure about Bathory and her long-rumored vampiric tendencies. It’s impossible at times to tell what is a true account and what is tall tale. The story we know today is likely a mix of both. Did she bathe in the blood of young virgin girls to retain her youth? Did her cruelty stem from the supposed Satanic rituals and witchcraft she witnessed from a young age in her family home in Transylvania? Was she really in the middle of torturing her latest victim, drenched in blood, when she was finally detained by the King of Hungary’s lead investigator, Gyorgy Thurzo?
By the time she was arrested and sentenced to life in house arrest inside Csejte Castle, her house of horrors in Upper Hungary (now modern Slovakia), Thurzo is said to have collected 300 statements from witnesses who attested to the brutal killings of young peasant girls abducted by the Countess, as well as confessions from servants (although they were being tortured by the authorities at the time). Few witnesses could actually give first-hand accounts of Bathory’s crimes, and many of the testimonies amounted to little more than hearsay, but Thurzo’s investigation and the eyewitness accounts of two court officials who claimed to have watched the Countess kill several girls were enough to lock her inside a room in her castle until her death in 1614.
The crimes recounted at the trial, in the history books, and in the folktales grow more and more gruesome the deeper you dig, like descending down to the darkest depths of Lady Dimitrescu’s castle.
“Bathory’s torture included jamming pins and needles under the fingernails of her servant girls, and tying them down, smearing them with honey, and leaving them to be attacked by bees and ants,” writes History.com. “She often bit chunks of flesh from her victims, and one unfortunate girl was even forced to cook and eat her own flesh.”

While some historians and scholars claim that Bathory was actually the innocent victim of a conspiracy propagated by the Catholic Church and a rival family trying to rob her of her extensive wealth and land, the Countess’ dark legacy as an alleged bloodthirsty cannibal is what has solidified her place in history and turned her into an influential figure in horror fiction. In fact, debates have persisted over the years regarding whether the “Blood Countess” helped inspire Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Although fellow Transylvanian Vlad the Impaler is largely accepted as the foremost historical source for the seminal vampire novel, Bathory is sometimes referred to as “Countess Dracula.”
In 1971, Hammer Films loosely adapted Bathory’s story in Countess Dracula, which follows noblewoman Elisabeth Nádasdy who, yes, bathes in blood in order to retain her youth. The 2008 historial drama Bathory casts a more sympathetic eye, portraying the Countess as the victim of manipulation.
According to Takano, while Bathory provided the foundation for Lady Dimitrescu’s story, the character evolved from other ideas floating around Capcom.
“The concept started out as a castle with a hundred witches inside, but that was hard to implement into a video game format, which is why we ended up making it like this,” Takano told IGN. “But actually, when you play the game you might notice that the setting is still pretty close to that idea. All the enemy types inside the castle are female. With Lady Dimitrescu as the cult’s guru, we have created this hierarchy of women. Men have their blood drained by these women, so you could say it’s the opposite of Dracula.”
Indeed, Lady Dimitrescu isnt a 1:1 recreation of Bathory, but the similarities are there in gruesome detail. Like the Countess, Dimitrescu is the matriarch of a castle, complete with a dungeon where she murders and bleeds her victims (it is said Bathory also had her husband build her a torture chamber as a gift before his death). Due to her unique mutation, Dimitrescu must drink the blood of her victims in order to retain her youth and her powers. She also has three “daughters” who help her hunt down her prey, not unlike the four servants (including a local witch) who were charged as Bathory’s accomplices and executed.
Much more will be said about Resident Evil‘s newest villain in the days to come. Does Lady Dimitrescu live up to the month’s of social media hype? That’s up to each player to decide. But when it comes to the woman who inspired her and what’s fact or fiction about her life, the truth is likely somewhere in the middle.
