They certainly have a lot in common, despite being from opposite sides of the pond. I'm also just now realising Ripley and Riddle would be contemporaries (25 and 28 respectively during the events of TTMR). Not entirely sure they would be each other's types though 🤔

🎀 Jing Yuan

Always has some form of contact with you. Walking together? His hand will rest on the small of your back or be interlaced with your hand, never letting you stray too far away from him during evening strolls. Sharing a meal? Sits right next to you so your thighs are pressed against each other and (with your permission), will give little kitten licks to your cheeks to wipe off any crumbs. Downright clingy in the cutest way possible, you don’t have the heart to tell him off. In the confines of your home, he’s on top of you like you’ll disappear any second. Sit down and he’s laying his head in your lap, not-so-subtly nuzzling his face between your thighs. If you’re doing chores like the dishes or cooking, there he is right behind you with a back hug. Strong, sturdy arms curled around your waist with his face buried in the crook of your neck, snow-white hair cascading down your shoulder. You can hear him faintly humming as he rocks you back and forth and how his lips gingerly brush against your pulse in a kiss. He can hold this position forever, practically purring like a cat from the warmth your body gives him.

🎀 Gallagher

Gives you complete and utter princess treatment. He is determined to not even let a scratch mar your skin, as he finds you too precious to allow you to strain yourself. Firm believer in the sidewalk rule, his arm around your waist as he walks on the side of the sidewalk where the cars pass. Glares at anyone, and I mean anyone, that gives you even the slightest bit of a funny look even if it’s just briefly that their gazes land on you. But the moment you turn to face him, he’s flashing you a dopey smile and nuzzling his nose to the top of your head to reassure you that he definitely not trying to scare anyone this time. He opens every door for you, buys you anything you want (within reason because bro is not rich), lets you do skincare or makeup on him without a complaint, and sits through any beauty appointment you ask him to. If requested, will cook dinner for you even if it’s refried beans and some eggs. Gives you baths and massages, cuddles you to sleep, and wakes you up with kisses. He is whipped and loyal to only you.

🎀 Welt Yang

Learns all about your special interests down to the smallest detail. It could be something on the more niche side, like a web novel or lost media from YouTube videos you like to watch while eating. Doesn’t matter because he’ll find out and learn everything that can be said of the topic, no matter how vast or scarce the topic is about. Hell, he’ll go on some obscure website just to learn more. But why would he go out of his way to learn about your special interests? To talk to you about them, of course. He wants to engage in your passions because, in his eyes, there’s nothing more sweet on the eyes than your lit-up face when he mentions something you like. He’s a hundred percent one of those people who fall in love with you even more when you get all excited over something, watching with fond eyes as you ramble on and ask him what else he knows about your special interests.

I'm certain I've answered a very similar question recently, but for the life of me, I can't seem to find the post. 💀 I'm just going to restate the information I remember giving, since I can't link it. I obviously can't know which deity you'll feel a connection to, but I'll give the best advice I can think of to hopefully offer you a place to start.

The first thing I'd do is make a list of things that genuinely interest you. I'm talking about hobbies, passions, inspirations, interests, topics you study - that kind of thing. After that, make a list of things you feel you need help with or would like to personally work on. Habits you'd like to stop, flaws you'd like to improve on, traits you want to strengthen, goals you want to achieve, current struggles that you're facing - that sort of thing. You can be as detailed or simple as you want; these lists don't have to be super long or fancy.

The next thing I'd do is look into the deities within the pantheon I'm interested in. Search terms like "Greek god of medicine", for example, and you're likely to find at least one result. I would try to keep your search terms broad, however; I wouldn't search up extremely niche topics. If you can't find anything under those search terms, look up a general list of the deities within that pantheon and go through them. Look at any names that seem to stick out to you more than the others. This part of the process would likely take the most time and effort.

After that, I'd make a list of the deities that interest me. Try to look at deities who are involved with the topics you enjoy or could potentially help you with whatever you want to work on. For example, let's say you enjoy writing. You may want to try reaching out to Lord Hermes, who has a domain within language and communication. You could also reach out to one of the Muses, who often aid with creative endeavors. Try finding deities that are related to the topics that you made lists for, and see what you've got.

When the list of deities is made, I'd start reaching out! Reach out to the deities who call to you the most to start. Which names stand out to you? Which deities are the most involved with your interests? Look for deities you think you'd get along well with.

I will say that it's important to remember that bonds take time to form. You're not likely to find a deity you just immediately click with; it tends to take time to form a deep and strong connection. Sometimes we do find a deity who we feel a more immediate bond with or feel called to worship, but that's not always the case, and that's entirely normal. Just like any human relationship, deity relationships develop over time with lots of care, communication, and time spent together.

The last thing I want to mention is that you're also welcome to worship deities just because you think they're cool. You don't need any other reason than that to simply reach out and say hello. Every deity I've met seems to enjoy having a worshipper who truly appreciates them. c:

Macbeth is my personal favorite so far (I'm biased cause I'm Slavic hehe) he just sounds so complex!!! And from what you wrote, I can very much tell you put time into researching the mentality of Slavic men, and that friend of yours seems to know what they're talking about. Finally, Slavic representation is more than just Russian terrorists or Balkan gang leaders. You've got no idea how much I appreciate being able to see my culture in art and writing. So far, Macbeth reminds me of my father a little bit <3 Slavic culture is iften very overlooked when it comes to representation and we see things about us that are inaccurate, offensive, or just plain rude. Glad to see we're finally getting a bit more respect within other communities, especially in books and fanfiction!

I’M GONNA CRY!! I really appreciate your love for Macbeth (as well as my Undercover series!!) and I’m very excited to introduce all three of my ocs. My friend who has helped me with Macbeth is Ukrainian themself and I wanted to do them right with Macbeth. (love u pookie) One of the reasons why I created Macbeth is because I was doing research on my family lineage for my father!

As for heights, Macbeth is actually the tallest! He stands at 5’10” (177.8 cm), although Hamlet is only half an inch behind him. He’s 5’9.5” (176.5 cm). Mantis is a few inches shorter at 5’6” (167 cm).

I would like to think that Mantis is a night owl. She thrives in a private setting; don’t get me wrong, she works well with other people and is a key person in her team! But she prefers being alone or with one other person. She likes the silence as there’s no chaos. Though at times, the silence does spook her if she’s just come back from a mission. Remaining adrenaline gets her jumpy.

Macbeth is an Early Bird unwillingly. He’s always been an early bird since childhood, not exactly something he could help. He will wake up at 0430 on the dot without an alarm. If he does not want to be up early, expect him to take some sleep medication 💀 Macbeth isn’t exactly mad about this as it’s typical to wake up early in the military. He also gets a few mundane tasks done before his day officially starts. Macbeth enjoys being able to watch the sun rise whilst smoking a cigarette.

Hamlet.. he’s neither. He is the definition of “soldiers sleeping anywhere”. He does not like getting up in the slightest, so don’t be surprised when you wake him up to take next watch, he complains under his breath. If he had to pick his favorite time of day though, definitely sunset or just right after it due to how beautiful the sky looks!

Mantis knows four languages like I’ve mentioned, and she’s currently learning Ukrainian. She knows English (Native speaker), Spanish, Russian, and Arabic. Macbeth sits her down and helps her practice a bit, and he can’t help but chuckle under his breath when Mantis’ lips refuse to move the correct way and she speaks Ukrainian with a butchered accent. It’s much better than a lot of other American’s attempts but again, Ukrainian is an entirely different language than her native language, so she sounds a bit ridiculous. Hamlet knows English (native speaker), Mandarin, and Arabic! Macbeth grew up in Mykolaiv, Ukraine until he was fourteen, so he knows Ukrainian (native speaker), Russian, Belarusian, and English. The order of their languages are the order of which they’ve been learned!

Their dynamics? Hmm… Hamlet is definitely a loyal guard dog type. You’ll see this throughout the tempest series. Hamlet bickers. Doesn’t matter who it is. He’s always bickering. It’s often Mantis and Hamlet getting into it with Macbeth having to intervene, or it’s Hamlet and Macbeth bickering and Mantis wanting both of them to shut the fuck up 😭
