Talevember Day 1: Jimmy Casket

Ah, Jimmy Casket. The Killer.

I feel like Jimmy Casket is, or at least was, one of the most popular VT characters. I think his popularity has dipped recently in favor of other characters, and to be quite honest, I'm happy others are getting attention over him. However, Jimmy Casket is still a beloved character, so let's talk about him.

Jimmy Casket very famously resides inside Johnny Ghost. It is a hotly contested of how exactly he is stored inside Ghost. I am very much someone who dislikes headcanoning him as an alter, both from a canon perspective and because I've had multiple systems tell me that kind of thing makes them really uncomfortable (which is understanding cause. Well it's an 'alter' whose personality is "I kill people." not exactly the best representation there)

The other two popular options are Ghost and Demon. (there are others which I think are neat, but these are the most popular). So which one do I subscribe to? Well I subscribe to the idea that he's a ghost, not a demon. I just personally think it's a lot more interesting.

Let's start off with why I think he's a paranormal entity. There are many episodes of VT where Casket inhabits people other than Ghost. Murder, which is the series in which Casket makes his debut and where he makes his most appearances, hardly features Ghost at all (though there are a couple times). Casket is shown being taken down multiple times, and through multiple different names.

Now let's get to the next point: Demons and Ghosts are both paranormal entities. We know this because of the Level 25 cat demon being in the realm of paranormal. My point here being a rebuttal to a common argument that Casket can't be a ghost because then he would set of the ghost hunting equipment, if he was a demon he would probably also set off the equipment.

I also just think it's a lot more interesting to consider that Casket was once someone before becoming a ghost. I am a (soft) believe of Gregory Casket being Jimmy Casket before he died, not Johnny Ghost (though obviously that is very malleable. It's not very clear in canon). I like to think of Jimmy as some sort of family member to Ghost. Perhaps a brother of some kind, or maybe an uncle. Not entirely sure.

Another small point is that Jose also possesses someone and is very likely not a demon, though I'm sure Casket is likely a higher level than Jose overall (hard to say since we don't really see Jose often)

I personally think it took Casket a long while to find Ghost as a host. Once he did find Ghost, it was incredibly easy to get a foothold in manipulating him since Ghost already has a lot of trauma and personal problems. Then it was as simple as a switch for when he was emotionally vulnerable.

I guess my explanation for the ghost equipment might be that it would only activate once his possession takes over. I would imagine after that it would fly off the charts.

you think there would be a tone deaf like documentary / show about jimmy casket ?? like the jeffery dahmer show on netflix. i mean i think there could be media that could cover it in a nuanced way, but on the flip side something that just fucks up talking about it.

you think ghost would watch it? or would he be uncomfortable with it? would he complain to producers? did producers reach out to him? did he work with them or against them? (well that's if some connection can be made between them, for me he's associated with the murder spree because he "went missing" during it, but idk if the general public knows they are connected)

i think he'd watch it but would have not helped / apposed to the idea of it being made at all.

i also think there's tone deaf fansites for jimmy as well. ghost is uncomfortable with them.

(i know this is pretty short. y'know head empty thb. also i've never done anything like this before so idk if i'm gonna be consistent, but i wanted to give it a shot)

TALEVEMBER DAY 1 - RELATIVES

Plus my first sketch and their family tree! I say cousins but it’s more like cousins from different dimensions through a surrogate (that’s a bit of a mouthful though…)

I like to think that the Waffle Demon is just a fucked up version of the bird form, and that Maloney kind of mellowed out toward the Acachallas specifically when reconnecting with Sally. Which is good, because there was a whole arc where the Acachallas basically kicked him out of his own house. Sally didn’t have the best relationship with her cousin in her own universe, but thinks this one is much nicer.

Talevember 2024 Day Four: Billy Acachalla

One of the OG RP characters, Billy Acachalla has a whole lot going on. For starters, he’s a medic, and is a generally positive and fun person to be around. Typical normal things, right? But, he’s also part-bird (or maybe not, as canon is weird sometimes). And he has the ability to bring people back from the dead. And he has time traveled at some point in his life (past or present, who knows). And his future self gains the ability to teleport. And he may or may not be working with Darth Calculus. Totally normal things!

You ever think about how weird it must be to know your future self is running around in the same time period as you? Like, how would Billy interact with the Toilet Toucher? Would they get along, or would they be uncomfortable with each other? As far as I remember, we’ve never seen the two interact before (due to having the same player RP both characters), so who knows. I’d like to think that Billy can get along with basically anyone, so I think at least Billy would be chill with the Toilet Toucher. I don’t think they ever really see each other, though, as Billy’s usually in town or at work whenever the Toilet Toucher is causing mess at the Acachalla household.

Speaking of future selves, he’s technically Ghost’s uncle twice-removed due to growing up to be Ernie Ghost. What that means is up to interpretation, but I like to think it means he’s Ghost’s great uncle. Time travel shenanigans make things complicated, but I like to think that it’s actually Billy who has time travelled and not the Toilet Toucher. Or maybe both of them have, cause Ernie Ghost eventually becomes the Toilet Toucher, and we get that info from Ernie? Gotta love time-travel making things confusing xD Anyway, it probably weirds Ghost out knowing Billy’s future self is his uncle. Like, Billy is younger than Ghost, but Ghost is technically Billy’s nephew, so. (Side note: but I do know someone irl who has an uncle 1 year older than they are, so it’s completely possible—just not common.)

I think in his spare time, Billy likes to cook. I don’t know, I just feel like he’d enjoy making food for his family. Is he a good cook? That’s debatable, but he tries his best, okay? His cooking isn’t bad, but I feel like Papa definitely wouldn’t be too thrilled whenever Billy says he’s going to make everyone lasagna for supper. He does probably make really good breakfast casserole, though. He and Gertrude definitely bake together, and their cinnamon rolls are legendary, so at least his cooking isn’t all debatable!

He and Sally probably get into crazy scenarios whenever they’re left unsupervised. Freddy totally hasn’t gotten out of the yard and ran all over the neighborhood while the two tried to chase him down, not at all!/s Whenever family game night involves team games, those two are a force to be reckoned with; Sally’s determination mixed with Billy’s luck has earned them a months-long winning streak, much to the dismay of their family. Oh well, Spencer just needs to get good be more cooperative and maybe others would win for once…
