Just look at these sexy flower boy muthafuckers. These grown ass men are all accomplished actors who work their asses off every day, and they ALSO sing, dance, do martial arts, archery, sword fighting, AND they know their way around a make-up counter. They ain't got time to play that pitifully outdated Fragile Male Ego Game.

I meant to include Jang Dong-Yoon's photo from Tale of Nokdu, but I forgot and I'm hella lazy so fuck it. Instead I give you these gifs of him in one of my most favoritest kdrama scenes EVER. This fan dance had me utterly smitten.

There's so much smoky-eyed idol beauty that I'm spoiled for choice. There's lovely shiny pretty flower boy magic everywhere I turn. I sense a second pretty menfolk post may be necessary. Maybe a third, lol. But for now I'll just settle for a little pixie snack: Hwang In-Yeop, aka the Prince of Fairy Magic. So much sparkly eye I wanna scream!

If all this is getting you hot and bothered, just wait till I post about Hallyu men looking stunning in skirts and dresses. All the sexy shiny will blow your mind.

P.S. Lee Hong-Ki (top, right) gets bonus points cuz he loves fancy pants cosmetics, he can belt out a ballad like nobody's biz, and he released a book of nail art for dudes. Daebak!

P.S.S. I know that Kim Soo-Hyun looks kinda uncomfortable with the amount of product they slathered on his face for that shoot, but it still counts, cuz that little lip biting thing is super kewt, right?!

Tale of Nokdu | Fan dance

Okay, guys... you HAVE TO watch Tale of Nokdu, omg. I stumbled upon it by coincidence and I've never watched any Korean drama series before, so I didn't even know what do expect but it's SO GOOD.

Rough plot: Set in  the Joseon dynasty (1392-1897), Nokdu lives with his father on a remote island. One day they are attacked by a group of masked fighters. To find out why they were attacked, Nokdu follows one of them and finds a hidden village inhabited by widows only where no men are allowed. Disguised as a woman he ends up living in the village to figure out the truth. He learns that among the widows there's a secret group of assassins who get kill orders from an unknown source. He also meets Dong-Joo who is a courtesan in training whose entire family has been murdered, and who lives in a nearby Kisaeng. He has met her before in town where she was dressed up as a man, and unbeknownst to Nokdu had been trying to assassinate the king. Continuously saving each others lives, they try to figure out the truth about each other and their own pasts.

Honestly guys... this show is so good. I'm only on episode 8 and there's a lot more to go, I don't even know how it ends, but it's so good that I just had to share with you.

This is Dong-Joo willing to sacrifice her hair, honor and life to rescue a little girl from a pedophile.

This is Nokdu getting captured by the village widow squad and kicked out for being male.

And this is Nokdu dressed as a woman, watching another guy being thrown out.

Badass secret group of assassins...

And after they’re done with the soldiers...

There’s also this awesome little girl character who just rocks because she takes no shit from nobody.

Nokdu teaching Dong-Joo the traditional courtesan fan dance, because he’s actually good at it while she sucks at it, cause she’s more into archery and technical stuff.

Badass protective Kisaeng Madam, who made it her life goal to save all the widows from having to commit traditional suicide after their husbands die.

There's so many positives:

* every single character in this show is super interesting and well developed

* there are sooooo many female characters, and they all rock

* all the women fight like badasses, like, no REALLY, you have to see, omg

* the plot is ACTUALLY A PLOT with twists and super exciting turns and background stories

* while this is a drama and very serious at times, it also has these really hillariously funny moments all throughout

* while it's entirely fictional, all clothes, sets, actions and hierarchical positions presented are historically accurate and the love for details is amazing

Uhm... so, Tale of Nokdu. Watch it on Netflix!

I love The Tale of Nokdu a lot, particularly

The male lead being the one who crossdresses. You get duped into thinking it’s the girl who’ll crossdress, but it only lasts for an episode - and then came in Nokdu with his muscular beauty. I personally think it’s obvious that he’s not a lady, but the voice, the hair and the mannerisms he adopts help him carry out the act

The guy who’s in charge of the village falling for “Lady Kim” feat. Nokdu’s disgust (the guy did get a sangkopi (”double nosebleed”) when “Lady Kim” said she burned her bottom). It’s a comedy act on its own XD

"Lady Kim” being a complete prude, ranging from muttering mantras while trying very hard not to look at women in their state of undress, to throwing a fit over the prospect of Dongjoo applying medication on the rear end

Also huge “respect” to Nokdu for never taking advantage of his situation

The presence of a female assassin body who can go on par with Nokdu

The boisterous guards of the village. They’re so fun!

This is going to be direct inspiration for one of my OCs who likes dancing but he has a penchant for graceful moves

The whole “I am your mother” gag

The secondary lead being transparent in his affections for Dongjoo (never thought he’d be her husband had she continued her noble life) but he respects her boundaries and steps back when she asks him to

i love it!!!!!!!! it’s so fun and fresh!!!! so hyun and dong yoon have such good chemistry their bts vids and interviews are so cute lol i think they suit each other really well. not thrilled about the birth secret where he’s the missing prince plotline but it’s a sageuk so that HAVE to include that EVERY TIME PLS NO MORE but whatever!!!! i’m enjoying the writing so far and the pacing is steady. even if everything goes wildly wrong from here on it’ll have been worth it for the shirtless dong yoon fan dance scene alone he ate that
