Serika’s gero froggy is very intriguing to me because those things were sold before she was born and skyrocket in price after that (and they were way too expensive to begin with). Yet, Takuru still gives her one. When did this happen? Did he give it to her before she was born and she just picked it up? Where from then? Like did Takuru have it on his person at all times or did she go to his apartment?

Or did Takuru give it to her after he woken up? Maybe to thank her for still being his friend, but that doesn’t really sound like him but neither is giving it in the first place.

Perhaps she lied about the gift to give them a physical history they never had. It probably wouldn’t be that hard finding a gero froggy lying around at the destruction of the earthquake. However, if that’s the case then why was it important enough to her to bring it everywhere? It could be a genuine tick of hers, but it could also be that part of this made up history becomes real if Takuru believe it is and that it really has a real sentimental value to her because of that.

i really think i should try and give chaos;child another chance considering last time i tried to play through it was when i was 15. but i still have an incomprehensible amount of hate for takuru miyashiro... i dont know if hes actually as annoying as im remembering him being.

reading more chaos child and the build up to something Very Obviously Going To Happen at the school festival has been so so long and painful that if the plot doesn't explode here i will be disappointed

in chaos head itself i assumed "ami-chan" referred to shogun hiding himself in the hospital but now it seems like that's the artist for the sumo stickers...? esp w this text person using it as a pseudonym to this "ed lucas".

i'm still holding out on more chaos head connections bcuz it's clear that takuru and serika saw ayase being tortured by norose back when. + also the whole SafeWorks shit REEKS of nozomi corp i aint trusting it. especially with how keen Mio is on ruining their rep.

Not even finished with the first route yet, but so far Chaos;Child is the most upsetting Science Adventure game. Chaos;Head was already pretty dark and messed up, but I feel like this game amped up the heaviness by a lot. (It probably helps that I'm also more invested in Takuru as a protagonist than Takumi, who I actively disliked for most of the game)

-Ok so I’m playing through Chaos; Child and hit chapter 6, 13-ish hours THROUGH and I am HOOKED!!! RAAAAA!!! Like, I love the cheeky yet super fun concept of Di-swords grrrrR I’m just interested in the plot now

-I also love Takuru. He’s such a strange and complex character. Every time the game zooms out of his perspective, it feels so jaring {I mean this in a positive light, like it was done on purpose. That feeling of seeing just how confused and how far Takuru has dove into the case. Seeing the character you play as staring back at you with a blank face. Seeing him really only scared, and only occasionally smiling. I hope I’m explaining myself LOL} -You can see how anxious and paranoid he looks. The game just does a good job at showing how all the characters view Takuru in a different way. He’s just super interesting and I can EXTREMELY relate to his wild imagination and daydreams that he has while navigating the world. His way of just going through interactions every day really speaks to me. Also the feeling Takuru has that he does not fit in, which causes him to hate/distance himself the common crowd, but part of him still wants to hang with his peers and live a normal life. His contradictory thoughts are illustrated so well.

The thing about dying on this hill about how badly the narrative treats Kawahara in Chaos;Child is knowing that literally no one even knows what chaos;child is so why I'm sitting on this hill screaming and bleeding out is incomprehensible but. The thing is. I'm right! They treat Kawahara so bad it's unreal!

I know the writers do not give a shit about him at all which is why he's treated like a delusional entitled bully instead of like. A victim of 6 years of gaslighting and manipulation that he NEVER gets closure for or even TOLD he's being deceived and in fact the fact he doesn't know that he's being deceived and strung along is used as a thing Takuru can own him over, but tbh. That literally only makes it worse in my book.

You like didn't even need to put him in the work if the only way you were really going to use him is like this, as he otherwise basically doesn't exist in the vn outside this one route. You did not need him! His role in this one route isn't even necessary for the story they want to tell in it, never mind outside it. You don't care about him clearly, so you could have just not done this!

But no, they needed to include him for some reason, so what you get is a guy being treated as a villain and an idiot you're supposed to hate for lashing out at the wrong person about the abuse he's been subjected to by one of the heroines for SIX years that he cannot possibly begin to understand the extent of, and he DESERVES to be clowned on for NOT KNOWING THE NATURE OF HIS ABUSE because he's mean to Takuru. In. In a VN where the main take-away, the emotional culmination of its story is that Takuru is not the most special boy in the universe, and is not better than everyone else. Yeah. Sure. Okay. This is fine.
