Swift will be enchanting her army of fans in New Orleans this weekend, and thanks to Rebecca Fox, some of her fellow Swifties living outside Louisiana won’t have to run up and down the street, struggling to score a pocket-friendly option for their stay during the weekend concert getaway. Why did the Taylor Swift fan book 191 hotel rooms? After dedicated hard work spanning more than a year, Fox cracked the ingenious, heartwarming formula to help fans of the global pop star, flying in to see the magic happen in New Orleans. According to PEOPLE, the Taylor Swift fan has purchased a block of 191 hotel rooms at a Holiday Inn. Ahead of their favourite singer’s concert stop, fans have also won the opportunity to participate in Fox’s Eras Tour “convention,” which she is now calling Holiday House. The name takes after the lyrical sentimentality of Swift’s folklore track “the last great american dynasty.” Fox was ultimately fuelled by her own experience of seeing Swift’s magic unfold during the world tour to launch this fan-immersive experience. Fans accustomed to the concert-cracking experience must be well aware that securing tickets to a musician’s concert, especially when that artist is Taylor Swift, is only half a step toward finally witnessing them firsthand on stage. Excessive flight and hotel costs add to the gruelling battle leading up to D-Day. In all that hustle and bustle, not everyone wins the opportunity to feel the warmth of the fan community and a sense of belonging with other fellow fans of the same artist. “I didn’t get to trade bracelets. I didn’t get to meet anybody. I didn’t get to take a photo outside the stadium,” Fox told the outlet, considering she boarded a train to Los Angeles and drove a rental car to the event, barely spending a whole day in Phoenix for the only night show. What inspired the New Orleans Swiftie to go down this path? Her own past experience inspired her to create a weekend brimming with events lined up one after the other for Swifties to partake in and be a part of something bigger, something she previously missed out on. “I live in New Orleans. I could very easily just not have spent the money, stayed at my house, and driven back and forth to the [Caesars] Superdome,” she explained. “But it was like, no, I want to have an experience. I want to actually be immersed in this. I want to enjoy every moment of it, for the whole three days that she’s here. How can I do that? I selfishly plan the events that I would want to go to.” Illustrating the impact of the fans’ shared interest in the “Anti-Hero” songstress, Fox also discussed how it had helped her connect with people around the world. “Before this, I literally only knew one other Swiftie in New Orleans, and now I have probably 40 really, really dear friends that live here, and I have thousands all over the world,” she added. Her full-on 191 hotel rooms purchase picked up with only 20 rooms, to begin with at the Hyatt Regency, a venue next to the stadium. Despite the ideal location, that station for the Holiday House weekend was not meant to be. Even though her plan flourished at the initial place, the hotel ultimately turned down her pleas to give her more rooms. Fox finally landed in the Holiday Inn, where she “fought really, really, really hard for every single room and every single person.” She also underscored, “Just so it’s entirely clear, I’ve done this all at cost.” Currently, she’s only charged the convention attendees a $25 deposit, which she will refund after the event closer. Activities planned for the Taylor Swift convention Fox promises that everything at the Holiday House convention is “either Taylor-themed or New Orleans-themed.

” The events will run through the weekend, from October 24 to October 28. The gathering will offer Swifties numerous opportunities to interact through activities such as bracelet-making games, scavenger hunts and more. The report focussing on Rebecca Fox’s Taylor Swift-themed convention came out around the same time as Fox Business sounded the alarm about Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s warning about New Orleans hotel scams. Sharing a video statement to X, formerly Twitter, she said, “Taking advantage of Louisiana residents & tourists visiting our state is wrong…State consumer protection law prohibits unfair and deceptive practices.” “We encourage anyone with a legitimate complaint against a hotel to file a consumer dispute with our office. Hello! I wanted to rec a fic on ao3 called "Restoration" by jelenedra. It's complete, an alternate universe of the sunshot campaign told nonlinearly. It has strong fairy tale and fae elements, with a touch of mystery. Bit of a fix it. Some delightful one liners, and the final ending imagery is just LOVELY. The fic deserves much more love. There's also some YilingWei, wwx not raised by Jiang, and sentient Burial Mounds elements. Enchanting read that keeps you enthralled and curious and intrigued.

Author's been through a tough time so I think it deserves a lot more love.

For new readers, please mind the warnings in the prologue and the beginning of each chapter! it’s omegaverse and a very heavy read as it deals with (possible spoiler) off-screen rape that results in an unwanted pregnancy, as well as secondary gender oppression which runs deep, but for people who can bear it the writing, worldbuilding, and emotions are truly spectacular.

FUCKK YOU ARE SOOO RIGHT ANON YOU ARE SO SO RIGHT! i reviewed the lyrics a couple of times and gave it a listen, this is perfect. i’d love to hear the thoughts of what context you’d imagined this song in, but as i was reading through it i really imagined like, the day before he was supposed to go home with zane? after the baby shower, and before all of that shit happened? ohhh yeah. i’ll go over some verses/lines that i really like for this.

“Try with all of your might

But none can hide from this unforgiving moonlight

Bear your scars like a prayer - Another wish lost to the night”

this intro really gives me like, the confrontation with aphmau, garroth & zane after the docks vibes. like, he’s just been uncovered, his identity has been exposed to aphmau, and now his “wish” of staying dead to o’khasis is being undone within these moments - lost to the night of the wedding, if you will!

“Every step I take, every fallen tear

Weaves another lie, a curse I will bear

There’s a part of me, struggling to break free: It lives within the dark”

this part i really imagine has a lot to do with how secretive he’s been, how much he’s lied, and how much he feels he proceeds to even now. it’s something he never wanted, and in truth he’s often torn up with guilt with how much he has to deceive those he cares about. “a curse i will bear” - that being guilt. then the idea of struggling to break free, and it living inside of him - it’s that longing to not have to hide, to not lie to those he cares about, to just be open - but he can’t do that, it’s risking his & others’ safety (at least, that’s what he strongly believes).

“Will tomorrow come at last?

In a million shards of broken glass

Fate is bleeding through my resilient soul,

Dyeing it a pale and fragile blue”

the night before he’s to leave home to o’khasis! they’ve tried their best, but it’s inevitable. the first line is a reference to the dread of the following day, and then the third - “fate is bleeding through my resilient soul,” the fate being returning home & becoming the lord of o’khasis, damaging how far he’s gotten on his own - “resilience.” fourth line: continuation of the last, that “resilient soul” is growing terrified of what’s to come. especially since he can’t do anything about it.

“There is beauty in the lie, spoken like a bittersweet goodbye

Still that brilliant light is beyond my reach

Maybe I belong here – beneath the light of the moon”

where i see “beauty in the lie,” that line, i see it like - for a good portion of villagers, his name most likely wouldn’t be entirely soiled since only dale finds out about the whole zane & garroth being related thing, so garroth believes there’s a chance that the people won’t see him for who he really is - a coward. bittersweet goodbye - well, it’s entirely bitter, but garroth’s a very sentimental man and i can imagine it could be in a “there was happiness here for me” kinda thing. last line, definitely a reference to belonging in phoenix drop.

“I once feared the end, praying for my life

Now I greet that darkness as a friend”

an accepting of his fate, he knows he can’t do anything at this point - he’s terrified, but he’s gotta try and suck it up (it’s very hard, he’s losing literally the person he holds closest to him right now).

“Maybe there’s a chance, a way out of this cruel and deadly dance, but at what cost?

Again the full moon is lost to the night”

THE FIRST LINE. COMEEEE ON. LOOK AT THAT. “dance” being a metaphor for leaving with zane. it’s the idea of like, is there a way he can get out of this? But the cost is the safety of this village. so in the end, it’s not an option - the “full moon” - a symbol of completion & good luck in some cultures - lost to the night. that night, where everything fell through.

BUT THOSE ARE MY THOUGHTS! if you had any others i would LOVE to hear them :D the song itself is also so so beautiful, thank you so much for the recommendation!

omg omg supervillain au?? could you tell us more?

yes yes yes absolutely

so scar didn't always have phoenix powers. he has charm speaking abilities, and he believed that to be his only power. when he became a villain, he did it unknowing of the whole "revives after dying" thing

he discovered it the first night he met grian.

grian has healing powers. he doesn't have anything to enhance his fighting abilities (like scar's charm speak), but he fares well in combat and trains a lot

the night the two villains met, grian was setting tnt off in a building that contained starborne (scott, government paid hero)

(there's a whole backstory w scott, joel, lizzie, grian, and scar, but it's long and warrents its own post lol. joel was scar's partner first and he died in a fight w scott when he was partners w grian, to sum it up)

he set tnt off trying to kill scott, but he didn't know scar was in the building. scott got out in time, but scar didn't, and he dies in the explosion.

so grian heard about scar from joel. he takes him from the wreckage and tries to heal him, it obviously not working because he's already dead.

it reminds grian of joel. he doesn't even know scar but it reminds him that despite being a healer, people around him always die and get hurt. what good are his powers when he can't ever save anyone??

but then scar starts glowing, and something is happening that grian's never seen before and suddenly scar's alive. they discover scar has phoenix powers and anytime he dies, he'll always bounce back. they hide this from the heroes. but there's something about his powers that he's hiding from grian. and there's something about grian's powers that they don't know.

scar's villain alias is achilles. he can permanently die from a wound inflicted to his heart. he knows this. grian doesn't. his name is very ironic.

grian can't heal himself. this is something they haven't learned yet.

even if scar can revive, grian makes a life debt to him. as long as grian is alive, he’ll work alongside scar. of course, the debt itself it very hard to repay. it doesn’t matter to them though. they stick together, and they soon become public enemy #1 and the most feared supervillains in the country

so yeaaah this is literally like a FRACTION of what i jotted down last night and it’s mostly the story of how they met in this universe. i have a lot more stuff, like joel and the heroes and scar’s charm speak, but this is just a small part of the little au floating around in my head :D

TMNT 2003: The Cute Moments (Ep. 1, S. 1 - Part 2)

Raph: Nice Dragon Kick. Ah, sweet Double Phoenix Punch. Hey, you know this one? *sweep kicks three ninja*

You could say this counts as more of a badass moment, but personally I think this is cute in at least two ways. Either Raph is making up these move names on the spot to mess with his opponents, which is adorably cocky, or these are genuine move names that Splinter taught him that Raph knows off by heart because he's a good student.

Mikey: Don, are we beating them, or are they beating us?

Donnie: *notices flying projectiles of death, jumps into the truck and yanks Mikey in*

Donnie: *opening the door, now riddled with shuriken* Ask me again when we're winning, Mikey!

Donnie's 'OH SHIT' face is cute as heck. And because he's the only one who notices they're literally seconds from death, Mikey gets to live too! Hooray for bros looking out for each other!

Mikey: Nice driving, Don! For a turtle with no license!

Donnie: Hey, do you want pretty, or do you want effective?

Mikey and Leo, trained ninja who just beat up a bunch of guys a few minutes ago, bouncing around the back of the truck like kids with no seatbelt is adorable lol. Also cute how Mikey expects Don to drive any better than he could when Donnie's only experience is probably definitely trucker simulators. None of them have licenses! None of them are even citizens! They're all illegal! XD

Mikey: Ninjas in New York City, besides us? It's just not right!

I love how offended Mikey sounds, like the very existence of the Foot Clan is a violation of his turtle rights. We're the ninjas, it's not fair! *stamps foot* Never change, Mikey!

Mikey's so cute when he's excited, it's just a shame it's stolen money and not lottery money. You can just tell he knows exactly what he's going to spend it on - snacks, pizza, video-games. Nothing else. He'd give the remainder to his bros, though.

Leo's 'holy shit' stare is adorable too.

Non-license-carrying, illegal-alien mutant turtles just DRIVE BY THE NEAREST COP CAR AND THROW A BAG OF STOLEN MONEY ON THEIR CAR AND DRIVE AWAY! THE COPS SEE THEM, TOO! The sheer ballsiness of this decision makes it so adorable. Leo is so dedicated to being a good boi, he's willing to put aside Splinter's teachings to do the right thing...

Policeman 1: Did you just see that? Some little green men just threw a bunch of money at us!

Policeman 2: Heh. Rookie.

I had to include these two - I don't know if we ever see them again, but this one exchange is just too cute. The pure innocence of the young cop and the indifference of the older cop who scoffs at the idea of four green men throwing money at their car and booking it being weird - WHAT HAS THAT GUY SEEN??? I need to know!!

All: Master Splinter! You're alright! *cheering*

Splinter: I am glad to see you too, my sons!

I DIDN'T NOTICE THIS ON MY FIRST WATCH - LEO HUGS MASTER SPLINTER! AHHH, INSULIN! I NEED INSULIN!

Mikey imitating Splinter's old-man walk is cute in a meanie-little-kid kind of way - let's be honest, we've all done the same thing at some point!

The turtles' happiness when they finally see their new lair and how awesome it is.

TWD Holiday Special Clues

Hey Everyone! I watched the holiday special last night. I know not everyone can. At least not yet. (Not sure if they’ll air it eventually.) So I’ll report what jumped out at me from it.

The first thing is that I definitely noticed a “return vibe” running through it. But first thing’s first.

They mentioned “reuniting the Greene sisters” at least twice. Maybe three times. Chris said it in the intro. I’m paraphrasing but something like “Emily Kinney and Lauren Cohan are here. We’re gonna reunite the Greene sisters!” And then he repeated that again during the episode. So yeah. Side-eying that.

Then Emily sang her song, Up on the Housetop, pretty early. I wasn’t sure about this at first, but it did occur to me that they chose to have her sing a song about Santa returning stealthily in the night. And yes, I know that’s pretty weak on its own. I mean, it’s a Christmas special. Any song they sing is either going to be about Santa or the Christ child. But even so. It wasn’t Jingle Bells or anything more generic. They picked the song about Santa returning stealthily (he does that every year, after all) when and where no one was looking for him to be. I’ll talk about this more at the end.

There were a lot of small things that MIGHT be clues, but also might not be. Things that we COULD read into but we really might be reaching. Things the actor (such as Josh McDermitt) said while telling stories about childhood Christmases, for example. I’ll skip those, for the most part, as they aren’t all that compelling on their own.

So then there were two 10-season things they did. They had the actors who play Ezekiel, Yumiko, Jerry, and Lydia sing a rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas, except it was the 10 seasons of TWD. It was fun, and I want to read into some of the lines, but it’s hard to read into all of them. They basically picked one thing from each season, and they were all pretty random. They skipped over Beth entirely, and I’ll admit that IS kind of suspicious (I’ll tell you why in a minute) but at the same time they skipped over a LOT of important things, so I’m not sure we can call it a pattern.

So, for example, the season 2 line was “Hershel at his Farm.” That makes total sense because it encapsulates the gist of S2. So, if they’d stayed with that theme, you ‘d think s3’s line would have been about the prison or the Governor or Woodbury, right? They went with “baby Judith’s birth.” And obviously that was a big deal but it doesn’t exactly bring across everything that happened in S3, you know? So, kind of random. For S4, you’d think they would talk about the downfall of the prison, but they went with “look at the flowers.”

So, they didn’t mention Beth or Grady at all for S5, and I find that suspicious bc Coda was definitely the biggest thing that happened in S5 with the biggest fan reaction. But again, they weren’t exactly breaking pattern here. For S5, they went with “Morgan Jones returns.” S6 was “Scary Saviors arriving” or something along those lines. (Understand I’m paraphrasing most of these because I didn’t write down exact words.) S7 was “Abe and Glenn in heaven.” S8 was Carl getting bitten. Sufficiently a big deal, of course, but there was also that burning Phoenix. Must not have been very memorable, lol. S9 was “Rick in a copter” and S10 was “Negan killing Alpha.” I think.

Not until they’d sung several more verses did the part about Morgan returning start to jump out at me. I mean, in terms of S5, that literally happens the last two minutes of the season. And yes, it was a big deal to the fandom, but it hardly represents all of S5, right? But using him as the “5th day of Christmas” part of the song automatically puts emphasis on it. If you think of the song, it slows down considerably and emphasizes “5 golden rings.” And for this it was “Morgan Jones return.” So it felt like there was a heavy emphasis on that.

So, an emphasis on the return of a character who hadn’t been on in a while before that. And of course there are all those DC al Coda parallels between Beth and Morgan. Just saying. Later in the special, they do another “return thing.”

Then they did an “In Memoriam” that covered 10 seasons of walker kills. This one was much more suspicious in a TD way to me. Like the song, they basically chose one iconic, epic walker kill to represent each season. And there are a lot more of these I think we can read into as Beth symbols. So, for S1, it was Teddy Bear Girl. For S2, Well walker. (Water.) For S3, that walker they killed when cleaning out the prison yard whose face slides off. The thing about this walker is that it’s wearing black riot gear. A lot like what the CRM soldiers wear. For S4, it was the Big Spot walker that falls through the roof. That one made me happy. For S5, that walker Daryl killed at Terminus with the crow bar. You know, the famous one whose face he caved in against the brick wall?

For s6, it was the sewer walkers Maggie and Aaron ran into under Alexandria. Definitely side-eyeing that. For s7, they showed Winslow. And what was great about that is that it specifically showed the part where one of Winslow’s spikes when through Rick’s hands. (Stigmata, making him a Christ figure.) For S8, it was where Daryl was riding around on his bike shoot boxes with his gun that then blew up. He blew up one of the walkers that way. For 9, it was the walker that came up out of the river while Daryl was fishing (long hair after Rick left). And for S10 it was the walker horde hitting the electric fence before the Hilltop battle.

So yeah. We can definitely read into some of those as Beth parallels.

The end of the special had some weirdnesses in it, and my favorite TD reference.

First, Chris asked everyone to say what their character would bring to a holiday party. Lauren said Maggie would bring the turkey. Kaylee said Judith would bring the games. But we didn’t hear Emily or IRonE’s answers. I just thought it was weird because it cut very abruptly and we didn’t get to hear what their characters would have brought. I mean, it’s obvious they edit these, because they often jump suddenly to the next question and you don’t hear the segue. I don’t judge them for editing. They have to do this in a certain time frame, and there can lots of white noise when conducting zoom calls. But still, I have to wonder what, exactly, they’re cutting out.

So then Chris asks, again, as though he’s going to ask each person, with the show ending, who they think will be the “last person standing.” He didn’t say man, I don’t think, but the echo of Beth’s line was painfully obvious. And he asked Emily first. And who did she say? She said Norman, or Norman and Melissa.

So, she didn’t actually say Daryl, and the “Norman and Melissa” thing is pretty obvious given the spinoff. But we literally had them asking who the last “person” standing would be, and she said Norman/Daryl. Just saying.

Then Lauren did this mock, I-can’t-believe-you-didn’t-pick-your-sister thing and they all started laughing and Emily said something like, “just kidding. If I were writing the script, they’d kill all the walkers and Maggie would be queen.” I think IRonE answered the question as well, but I think what he said got lost in all the goofing around.

But yeah. Obvious Bethyl reference and they indirectly tied it to the spinoff. Just saying.

So, before I get to the final one, they they took Emily and IronE away and brought on Angela and Gimple. That part was kind of meh. Just nothing that really jumped out at me. Chris asked Gimple to give us some tidbits about the Rick movies. And Gimple did his usual, “we’re working on it but can’t say much” thing. So then Chris asked AK to talk about the bonus episodes. She talked a lot more than Gimple and Chris gave Gimple crap about that. But honestly, she pretty much just repeated what we already know from the episode synopses that were released: A Daryl/Carol episode, a Negan episode, with Hillary Burton, more on Eugene’s group, etc. So yeah. Nothing knew or exciting there.

They showed a very short clip of the table read from the episode where Daryl and Carol go their separate ways. I thought it was interesting that they used that particular moment. But I suppose they’re doing it to hype the spinoff.

Finally, they ended with Chris reading a TWD rendition of Twas the Night Before Christmas. Most of it was cute little rhymes about the various characters, but one part REALLY jumped out at me.

“And that’s when they saw it high up on a shelf:

A new walking talkie. Was it left by an elf?

They heard static and crackling but nothing made sense

The room became quiet, so SERIOUS, so tense.

Together they gathered, a closer look they did take

When a helicopter overhead made the entire house shake.

And then a voice on the walkie was heard so clear and so bright

It was Rick grimes wishing “Peace unto all and to all a good night.”

Now, there were other passages I found suspicious as well. Stuff about Daryl and Dog, and Connie and Kelly receiving tons of cats for Christmas. You’ll have to tell me what part stands out most to you.

But here, we have a voice on a walkie, Rick in a helicopter, and a serious mention. Of course they were never going to put Beth’s name in here. It would be too obvious, but given the parallels between her and Rick, I know I don’t have to explain why this makes me happy. AND in the story, it’s happening on Christmas Eve. The return of a character they think is dead.

So I think it also works with the Up on the Housetop theme I mentioned at the beginning. As I said, I wasn’t sure about that at first, but after hearing their poem, it made me think I was barking up the right tree there.

So, because there was such a heavy “return” emphasis here, it got me thinking of the weirdness of having a holiday special at all. I hadn’t really questioned it before now. Just something fun to tide people over. Because Covid, you know?

But now it feels like a clue that THIS is the Christmas after which she’ll return. They’re doing it this year, where they haven’t in years past, because THIS is the year Daryl will get something from Santa Clause.

Also, about a week ago (before the special aired) @wdway sent me an article about it. It was obvious this was filmed early, not live, because the article actually talked about some of what would happen in the holiday special. And the part they talked about was where Emily said Norman would be the last man standing.

So what we found suspicious about that (apart from what I’ve already talked about here; the blatant echo of a famous Bethyl moment) is that the article ONLY talked about Emily and that question. It mentioned who else would be on and such, but the entire emphasis of the article was Emily and her answer to that question.

So it felt like the special was entirely geared toward featuring Emily.

Kdrama recs Part 2

Hello @camsthisky and anyone else who cares! I do apologize for the delay on this post--it has only been 84 years since Part I of my kdrama recs, I know, and I thought about going for a full century but this is me finding a way to de-stress after watching the first episode of I-Land alkdjfadlksj I’m gonna die of heartbreak but whatever

Speaking of heartbreak, there is a lot to be found in Korea’s wonderful historical dramas, so like, be warned—or, if you are an angst-loving monster like me, settle down for hot guys and good cries

Let us begin! (or, if you want romantic modern dramas see Part 1)

1. Scarlet Heart Ryeo/Moonlovers:

aha ahahahahahaha *weeps* You may have heard people talk about this show. You may have heard ME talk about this show. This thing was my first kdrama ever and it RUINED ME

Disclaimer: I have seen this show once and rewatched it twice and on the rewatches I can never quite make myself watch the last 4 or 5 episodes because things get tragic and messy and I get mad. HOWEVER there is a lot of good in the first part of the show and because this thing was all the rage in everywhere but Korea itself, there’s like over 300 fanfic for it and several good fix-its, including one by my good friend @thelonelybrilliance

Ok so anyway this show which could also be called An Abundance of Princes starts with a young woman from modern times getting thrown back into ancient Goryeo during an eclipse and finds herself in the body of Hae Soo, the cousin of the wife of one of the princes, and thus she gets embroiled in royal affairs which are, quite frankly, a mess. See, the evil eyeliner prince (whom I love even when he’s the worst) is plotting with his mom to get the Crown Prince out of the way aka dead BUT who should return to the Palace but the 4th Prince, Wang So, who has spent at least half his life living as hostage to a powerful family.

So has a scar that cuts across his eye and which in this society makes him a horror to look at or smthing idk he just looks extra hot to me but anyway he wears a mask and is known as the wolf dog (or as the MURDER ANGST CUPCAKE thanks @abadpoetwithdreams). He might seem a little rough around the edges at first because his life has been hell but he really just wants to love and be loved okay people need to be nice to him wtf

Other princes include:

1. the Crown Prince, Wang Mu, a good egg, not particularly charismatic but he tried to protect his lil bro when no one else would

2. the 8th prince, Wang Wook, who reminds me of a fellow named Shane and I don’t mean the cowboy

3. the 10th prince, Wang Eun, a dumb adorable spoiled bby (played by Baekhyun from EXO)

4. the 13th prince, Baek Ah, a tol soft boi, an artist, a BAE, a BRO, a SHIPPER ON DECK

5. the 14th prince, Wang Jung this son will fight everyone he’ll fight himself he just loves to fight! Not always wise but he’s a good boy and I like him a lot

6. just realized I skipped the 9th prince but nobody cares

One quick note is that IU plays Hae Soo, and I enjoy her a lot in the first half of the show where she is still spunky and rebellious...sadly her character kind of falls apart/gets too weak for my liking as the episodes progress

The MAIN reason why I feel it my duty to recommend this show to everyone despite the fact I have never met anyone who wasn’t traumatized by it is LEE JOON GI

Yes, this man:

I mentioned him in the previous rec post—he played Bong Sang Pil in Lawless Lawyer (AND IS NOW CURRENTLY STARRING IN FLOWER OF EVIL WHICH WILL BE ON ANOTHER POST AHDFOIASDHGALDSKJF FRIQ I AM IN LOVE WITH THAT MAN)

BUT SERIOUSLY LOOK AT HIS PHOENIX EYES!!! HIS RAZOR SHARP FEATURES! HIS BIG ADORABLE EARS! HIS BEAUTIFUL EXCESSIVE BANGS! 4TH PRINCE WANG SO LOVE OF MY LIFE

SOMEONE PROTECT THIS BBY

2. Hwarang: Ok so right off the bat I am going to smack down a disclaimer that I can’t stand the female lead. TRULY CANNOT. Thus, I don’t like the romance, and only care about the love triangle as far as it just shows how sad and lonely one of the guys is. (Also there are scenes of dumb old men plotting and I don’t like them either). At the end of the show, I am happy that the one guy is NOT stuck with the female lead as his wife. Good for you sir

Sounds like a show to steer clear of then, right? WRONG. This is a show that you skip through because the scenes that are good? Are GREAT

Picture this: It is the Silla era of Korea, and the queen is ruling as regent in place of her son, who has been hiding all his life because everyone wants to kill him. Well, son is now grown and must soon come into the light and take the throne. Queen who both wants her son as king but also really likes being queen decides to do everyone a favor and form an elite fighting squad out of all the prettiest and most talented sons of nobles in the land, with the idea that they will be loyal only to the throne, and thereby keep their dads from plotting to destroy everything.

Let me tell you something, these ARE the prettiest boys in the land. Good hair, good jawlines, beautiful smiles—the cast lineup includes Park Hyung Sik and his cute lil elf ear, Park Seo Joon, Taehyung (yes from BTS!), and Choi Minho from Shinee, plus two other actors who are lesser known but who are drop-dead gorgeous. Anyway. Sorry, but they really are all beautiful.

The fun thing is they don’t all get along right away, a few of them are VERY much opposed to the other for various reasons, but they all have to bond and become brothers in arms. And what they don’t know is that the real king snuck in and is one of them. 10/10 I would die for the boys! (also Tae has an older half-brother who is a lower rank than him but whom he looks up to and that makes for cuteness and pain) Once you skip the boring or annoying parts of the show, the rest has so much delight, laughter, and oops pain, lots of pain. I want to go re-watch.

Two other things I should mention about the show: a super soft side romance between secondary characters and a game of, as they call it in the show, HOT SOCCER

^pretty boy 1 (with the cute elf ear sadly on the other side of his head)

^pretty boy 2 (sad cheekbone bby) and pretty boy 3 (happy cheekbone bby)

^pretty boy 4 (the prettiest of them all, and he knows it!)

^pretty boy 5 (aka Taehyung danced around the set of a historical drama and made everyone adopt him as their bby)

3. Faith/The Great Doctor: This is a longer kdrama at 24 episodes and they didn’t have much of a budget so special effects aren’t the best or anything but I just got really attached to all the characters? This is another modern girl goes back in time but UNLIKE SHR it actually has a happy ending, so if you need a historical drama cleanse after that tearjerker/enrager, this could be it for you

Eun Soo has to navigate the ancient kingdom, keep people believing she is a heavenly doctor with special powers, and keep Choi Young alive so he can fulfill his promise of returning her to her own time. The problem with that is Choi Young does have kind of a death wish because of reasons—

Eun Soo is a plastic surgeon who would really like a rich handsome husband one day but them’s the breaks for you, aka she has had no luck in that department. Back in ancient Korea, Choi Young (played by Lee Minho in sadly the only role I really love him in) is a high-ranking beloved captain who can fall asleep anywhere. Oh he can also make electricity with his hands! :D

The story begins when the sleepy sad captain tries to escort the new king and queen to their palace. This was during the time period when ancient Korea was basically a puppet kingdom/tributary of ancient China (Yuan). The king (who is very smol and lacks confidence, but still has a good heart for his country) lived as a hostage in Yuan for many years, and his wise tol queen is a princess of that land, and someone needs to sit them down and make them talk because they actually love each other a lot. Anyway, when the queen gets injured by assassins, Choi Young goes searching for a legendary doctor, winds up in modern Korea, and steals both Eun Soo and a SWAT shield, because hey, it looked cool I guess

Lots of fun things in the show: Choi Young has a crew of soldiers who are BEYOND loyal to him, and while he doesn’t think much of the king at first because he’s been burned by kings before, they slowly become bros and shippers on deck for each other. Eun Soo does not lose her spunk or loyalty unlike other people I could mention *cough*HaeSoofromScarletHeartRyeo*, and it cracks me up when she curses people out. There are also a bunch of people (mostly bad guys) running around with special powers or gifts, including a flame lady and a flute boy, and the latter wears delightful anime wigs, keeps his sword in his flute, and plays his flute to kill—literally! I love flute boy very much

4. My Country: A New Age:

ANGST ANGST ANGST PAAAAAIN BUT ALSO BEST INTRO BEST FAVES BEST ACTORS

Picture this: two young men, who both hail from childhoods of trauma, who grew up together and are best friends, and who are tragically forced apart and end up on opposite sides of a conflict that threatens to upend the current rule of the kingdom. This IS the star-crossed brotp you’ve been waiting for!

Seo Hwi is the son of a general who died a criminal, and all he wants is to live simply and earn enough rice take care of his younger sister, who has seizures and a sweet crush on Hwi’s bestie. Hwi is the best softest most loyal boy with a good and true heart, a great deal of courage, and a talent for wielding a sword, and just wait till you see the best one-shot fight scene ever of him in battle, it is INCREDIBLE! (He is played by Yang Se Jong, who I now want to see more of) Hwi has an abundance of charisma points in that he picks up a small band of loyal soldier friends and they become the best little found family, lots of brotp-ness in this crew—do not mess with any of them because they will all FIGHT you

Seon Ho meanwhile is the illegitimate despised son of a powerful nobleman, only tolerated because the legitimate son died. Seon Ho loves his friend and is very protective of his friend’s little sister who crushes on him but his dad is a high class grade A power-hungry jerk and that causes complications of course. Seon Ho also has a good heart, he’s a gentle soul really, but he always gets stuck in bad positions and unfortunately makes a couple of difficult/bad choices so he hardens himself as much as he can but the consequences always kill him and he just wants to save his friends and destroy his dad and the stupid hierarchy that treats bastards as lesser. WHY IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

Seon Ho he is played by Woo Do Hwan who has so much talent I die so many times over in this show just because of the way he portrays Seon Ho like that sad sad boy is one of my favorite characters evER! Is he problematic? At times maybe but I am HERE for him he just needs LOVE AND AFFECTION AND AN ABUNDANCE OF GOOD FRIENDS BUT INSTEAD (SOMETIMES THRU HIS OWN FAULT BUT HE ADMITS THAT) HE JUST SUFFERS AND SO I SUFFERRRR

*grabs a towel and dries up my tears*

Hwi also falls in love with a woman named Hui Jae (or was it Hee Jae i can’t remember) and they are very cute together, she’s pretty cool but the show’s one failing is arguably that they kind of underuse her in the plot as the story goes on? But I still like her and she still has a good role, and she is both brave and kind and not afraid to step in or tell people off, also keep a weather eye open for patching up scenes!

Oh yeah, eVERYONE in this gets hurt/stabbed/shot/bloody, such a shame they have to take their shirts off to clean and bandage the wounds ;)

Last character I must mention is Bang Won, played by Jang Hyuk in his second interpretation of the historical figure. Bang Won is the fifth? son of the guy who becomes emperor/king, and he has his own plans for the country, so when Hwi catches his eye, he recruits him to his cause. What you need to know about him is that he has issues with his dad, is slightly unhinged, and cannot and should not be parted from the fan that he constantly carries around with him. Gotta say, Jang Hyuk is FANTASTIC (heheheheheheh) in the role, able to convey all kinds of emotion in the rise and fall of his voice, in the tilt of his head, the tears of his eyes, the flick of his fan. Give this actor all the awards!

To sum up: if you like to cry for days after watching a drama, if you like excellent heart-wrenching brotps, if you like conflicted characters, if you like amazing music and setting and plot, if you like guys with good hair and arm muscles (and

abs, thank you shirtless scenes what) this show is a Must Watch

Ok I was going to leave the historical drama post at this for now but...I’m going to cheat a little and include the one historical C!drama I just finished.Yes folks I am talking about:

5. Nirvana in Fire:

Ok so maybe the switch from kdrama to cdrama makes you uncertain. Maybe the fact that this show has FIFTY-FOUR EPISODES makes you go hell no I don’t have enough time for that. Well if you overlook this show for those reasons, you are making, and I do not exaggerate, the greatest mistake of your show-watching life!

Look, first, this drama has one of the best, most intricate, most satisfying plots in history, with like 20 characters you would die for, and second, the episodes are only about 42 minutes each, which is shorter than most kdrama episodes, so you can deal.

Once upon a time there was a general/family who were just too good to exist in corrupt old China, so naturally they were framed for treason and there was a giant massacre and everybody died, including the eldest prince who was like um dad maybe this is all a horrible mistake and the king was like no u are the mistake. Sad times.

One of the many younger princes named Jing (A NOBLE HEART, if not always the cleverest) returns home from wherever he was, finds out that not only did his prince brother die, but so did his best friend/brother in the whole wide world, Lin Shu, son of the general. Because he insists on the innocence of said bros/family, Jing becomes an outcast prince and is shuffled off to fight in wars where he can’t cause any trouble. Meanwhile, Princess Nihuang, Lin Shu’s brave, awesome, amazing, wise, incredible girlfriend, refuses to marry anyone else, and because she is too cool to be messed with, nobody tries to banish her

Cut to I think eleven years later, when the two most powerful princes are vying to be the crown prince and heir to the throne. They both try to recruit the aid of a renowned clever and sassy strategist named Mei Changsu, to help them with plotting and PR and such.

Well little do they know that Mei Changsu is actually the not-dead Lin Shu, with a completely new face (for reasons), and that Mei Changsu is a chess master setting up a long con for the dual purpose of obtaining revenge/justice for the dead and of raising Prince Jing to the throne, since Prince Jing is the only man with a good enough heart and strong enough will to make China a better place for all the people. But just to make it hard on everybody, Mei Changsu is dead set on not telling anyone who he really is—again, for reasons. He is not always successful in keeping his secret.

I literally don’t know what else to say because there is so MUCH to say, so many characters to love, and I mean LOVE. How do you get a cast this good? How is everyone so different yet so important? How do you feel bad for the emperor even when he’s slimy? How do you have to stop yourself from rooting for the prince who would destroy some of your faves? I can’t praise the charisma and acting talent in this show enough! And the music! IS GORGEOUS!

1 strategist too sassy for his own good and too clever for everyone else’s good + 1 prince who loves his mom and his dead best friend and his dead older brother more than anything else in the world + 1 gentle wise mom + 1 eternally loyal princess who would defend her loved ones with the sword if necessary + 1 sassy Elrond healer man + 1 grumpy sulky baby who loves being a better fighter than almost everyone + 1 loyal to the death, brave badass general who is going to have a stress breakdown if the strategist doesn’t take better care of himself + not 1 but 2 good boys who deserve to be protected but who are willing to throw themselves into battle if necessary + 1 antagonist tiger prince who I love and am not ashamed to say it = THE BEST OF TIMES

This is! Literally just two people playing a stupidly simple game! That’s it. There’s no plot other than that. Anyway, go play @lureofthegallowsgame��s game. Erin’s a delight, Leo is the light of my life, and you get to play as a seer which is cool asf. And Jude is just a gremlin.

“Okay,” Leo says, fry in hand but holding off on eating it just yet. “Anchorage.”

There’s a song playing, just audible over the low murmur of the other diners at Saint’s, but Jude is very much not listening to it. They keep their straw clenched between their teeth for a little longer, momentarily distracted by the playful tilt to Leo’s head. Blinking, they release the straw.

“Boston.”

“Columbus.”

“Uh, Dayton.”

“’Uh’ doesn’t start with D,” Leo teases.

“’Dumbass’ does,” Jude mutters, grabbing a fry for the express purpose of tossing it at them. “It’s your turn.”

“…El Paso.”

Jude ducks their head a little to hide their smirk. “Had to think on that one, didn’t you?”

“E’s hard! Can you think of a city off the top of your head that starts with E?”

“I don’t have to, we’re on F now.”

Leo narrows their eyes, but if they were going for stern they fail miserably. They’ve still got that dumb, pleased smile on their face, and the force of it scrunches up their nose just a little. Jude would be able to read the same thing in their dumb, pretty eyes if they could get themself to look for longer than a second, but that’s too big of a risk to take in public. Or in private.

“Well, go on, then,” Leo says. “You’re up.”

“Fresno…? That’s a city, right?”

“Yes?”

Jude takes a quick sip of their milkshake. “It sounds fake when I say it out loud. It’s G now.”

“Gary — Don’t give me that look; it’s a city in Indiana!”

“New rule,” Jude says, swiping a fry and sticking in in their shake. “No cities that are also people names.”

“You can’t change the rules mid-game,” Leo protests.

“I can and I did. Houston.”

“You did, but you shouldn’t,” they say. “Indianapolis.”

At that moment, their waitress swings by, one pen perched behind her ear and another in her hand for reasons Jude doesn’t quite understand. She smiles, asks if everything’s all right, and will they be needing anything else? Jude lets Leo handle her because they’ve always been better with people, but they do manage to thank her before she leaves.

They both reach for another fry at the same time and Jude pulls their hand back before they collide, trying to keep their smile from seeming awkward. “What were we on?”

Leo puts their fry in their mouth and finishes chewing first, obviously in no rush, watching Jude the whole time. Jude, in turn, refuses to make eye contact, instead focusing on the line of their jaw until they realize that’s… not better. Their gaze darts to the side and they put their straw back between their teeth. Very casual. Smooth, even.

“We were on J,” Leo says, and, dammit, they can hear the smile in their voice even without looking. “Also, it was your turn.”

“Jackson…ville.”

Leo snorts, nudging their leg under the table. “Skirting your own rules?”

“Take your turn before I die of old age, Leo.”

They laugh. “It hasn’t even been, like, a second, but fine. Knoxville.”

“Lansing,” Jude says, absently licking french fry salt off their thumb.

“You know, the further in we get, the more I’m starting to wonder if there actually are cities that start with every letter of the alphabet.”

“Why wouldn’t there be?” Jude asks.

“I don’t know,” Leo concedes with a grin. “I was stalling because I almost said Michigan. Memphis.”

Jude scoffs and stirs their shake. “Really? M isn’t even one of the hard ones. How is it that you, the honor roll kid, couldn’t instantly think of a city that starts with M?”

“First of all, just because I was on honor roll doesn’t mean I automatically know every city name. Second, I got… distracted.”

“Idiot. Nashville.”

“Omaha,” Leo says, then leans forward. “So you’re admitting that the honor roll thing was a non sequitur? Since you’re not arguing against my point.”

“Oh, that’s the part you’re concerned about me not following up on? Phoenix.”

Their smile tugs up higher on one side, mischievous and fond simultaneously. “Why, do you want me to tell you why I was distracted?”

“I —” Jude risks a quick look at Leo’s eyes, catches something between nerves and an affection so deep it almost pulls them under, and swiftly redirects their gaze to the diner’s checkered floor. “No. I want you to take your stupid turn.”

Leo fidgets, then tries to cover it by reaching for a fry. “Uh. Quincy.”

“’Uh’ doesn’t start with Q,” Jude says, in a poor imitation of Leo’s voice. “Reno.”

“Play fair, Jude. Sacramento.”

“I am?”

Leo hums, resting their chin on their fist. “Your turn.”

“Tallahassee. I’m playing fair!”

“You did change the rules part of the way through,” they point out, smile turning slightly conciliatory. “And… Union.? Yeah, Union.”

“Well… I didn’t try to disqualify you for it, so. Venice.”

“Which one?”

They pause in the middle of drinking, brows furrowing. They take a moment to swallow, then, “What?”

“Which Venice?” Leo says.

“Does it… matter?”

“I suppose not,” they reply, “but so far we’ve really only been doing American cities. Venice, Italy would’ve been an odd outlier, don’t you think?”

“I try not to,” Jude says dryly.

They reach over to ruffle Jude’s hair, laughing at any attempts to swat them away. “Aw, don’t sell yourself short. You think. Usually.”

“Not around you,” they snap, then make an odd, strangled sound. “Because. You lower my IQ with your presence! It’s — Take your turn.”

Angrily, they start in on their shake again, tapping their foot under the table. There’s a brief silence from the opposite booth, but Jude absolutely refuses to look up until the conversation moves on.

“Waterloo,” Leo says finally, something dangerously soft in their voice.

“I don’t — Is there even a city that starts with X?”

“Hmm, what was it you said to me when I was wondering about the feasibility of this little game?” They tap a finger against their lips and Jude very definitively does not notice in the slightest. “Something about… Why wouldn’t there be?”

Jude takes a breath to recenter themself, and reaches into their pocket. “I’m phoning a friend.”

“Oh, so that’s a rule now, too?”

They pointedly ignore Leo, sending a quick message to Warren and hoping he responds quickly. Or maybe it would be better if he was just a little slow. To give them more time to recover — No, there’s his reply. They tap out a string of heart emojis and set their phone on the table triumphantly.

“Xenia,” they announce. “It’s in Ohio.”

Leo leans back in the booth, taking a fry almost as an afterthought. They don’t look too closely at Warren’s answer. “All right, all right. Yukon.”

“How did I get stuck with X and Z?” they grumble.

“I don’t know,” Leo says, “but since you get to make rules, I’m making the rule that you can’t use the same get out of jail free card twice. You’re on your own with this one.”

Jude sticks out their tongue and Leo’s shoulders lose a tension that Jude hadn’t quite realized was there until it was gone. Their phone screen has already gone dark on its own, but they slide it slightly off to the side anyway.

“Oh, we’re so close, there has to be — Oh! Um! Zion?” They look to Leo for confirmation, beginning to smile at the amusement they find on their friend’s face before they catch themself and pretend to examine their poor, chewed upon straw.

Leo laughs easily, their own eyes never straying from Jude. “Zion it is.”

GX Month Day 5

Pass the salt

Okay boys and girls, strap yourselves in. I’ve got a lot to get off my chest...

So the things that have irritated me in GX are...

-Jaden never moves up in rank. Now we all know that Jaden should be an Obelisk, as he’s only ever lost ... 3 times I believe. Hell he was actually given the opportunity by Chancellor Shepard to advance to Ra Yellow in the fist few episodes after defeating Chazz in a placement duel. And he doesn’t freaking take it!? *Very frustrated mun noises*

-Aster Phoenix

-Bastion really gets shafted. He is without a doubt, the smartest among his friends. And yet, past the Shadow Rider arc, and the Society of Light, the series does nothing with him. He deserved so much better.

-In the same vein as the previous point, GX hardly does anything with the side/supporting characters. It feels like every time something big is going down, everyone stands back and waits for Jaden. Yes, he’s the series main character, but good god! 90% of the duels in GX are all Jaden!

Yes, during the Society of Light arc, we got to see Syrus and Hassleberry (I can’t spell his name) duel some, and Sy even ranked up to Obelisk by the end. But still, it would have been nice seeing Bastion, Alexis, and Chazz get a little more screen time in the later seasons. Because the second Jaden is on screen, it feels like everyone else gets shunted to the side. At least 5 D’s gave the side characters their due (Jack Atlas kicks ass). *More frustrated mun noises*

-Camulla’s motivation for being a part of the Shadow Riders. Now I’m not sure what her motivation was in the Japanese version. However, in the dub her motivation for being a henchwoman for Kagemaru was that she wanted t restart the vampire race ... YOU’RE A VAMPIRE!!! BITE SOMEONE!!! *Even more frustrated mun noises*

-The crappy security on the island! Holy hell, with the amount of crazy shit that happens on Academy Island: Missing students, shadow games, evil duel spirits, a psychotic cult, Aster Phoenix, dimension hopping, Aster Phoenix, life risking duels, Jaden’s stupidity, Yubel, Aster Phoenix, Colonel Viper, The LITERAL incarnation of darkness, ect... It’s a wonder the authorities haven’t shut the place down. *Mun has gone Super Saiyan from all of his frustration*

Part 3 of Semp’s Bad Fic About Cherri Cola

Good evening y’all and welcome to the latest episode of 'Semp can't title shit to save his life'! On this episode, he will refer to himself in third person, write about Fun Ghoul, and compose poetry so bad it's a disgrace to Cherri Cola's name.

I’m sorry for posting twice in one day, but i have absolutely no impulse control and I finished this today so...there you go.

Title: Sofas and Poetry

Summary:

Cherri Cola has the unfortunate habit of leaving his poetry lying around Dr. Death Defying's radio station.

Fun Ghoul has the unfortunate habit of being a nosy gremlin

Aka how Fun Ghoul got a lot more than xe bargained for, learned about a war and Cherri Cola's backstory, and continued to be a little shit to Party Poison, feat. my shitty poetry.

Warnings: mentions of death, violence, and war. Nothing is super graphic but let's just say cherri's life has really not been fun. Also lots of swearing but that's a given with me.

“Give that back!” Cherri Cola called exasperatedly.

Fun Ghoul leapt onto the back of the sofa, out of his reach, still holding the poem. “I want t’ read it! I never get t’ read your poetry!”

“I read poems on the radio at least once a week!”

“Yeah, but only Jet n’ Kobes listen t’ that!”

Cherri sighed. “At least take one of the finished ones.”

“But this one looks neat,” Ghoul protested, still perched precariously on the back of the sofa.

Cherri sighed again. “If you get off D’s sofa, I’ll read you the poem. Whichever one it is.” He didn’t know exactly which of his poems was on the raggedy scrap of paper that Fun Ghoul had managed to steal, but chances were it would be one he was planning to read on the radio anyways.

Ghoul seemed to think for a moment before he hopped off the top of the sofa, tilting xyr head at Cherri as if to say ‘pay up’. “Got off Dr. D’s sofa.”

“I suppose you did,” Cherri sighed, settling himself down on the sofa as Show Pony went skating by, yelling something about “Do y’ think we’ve got the carbons for that?”, presumably to Dr. Death Defying.

Ghoul happily settled next to Cherri, waving to Show Pony before passing Cherri Cola the scrap of paper.

Cherri’s heart plummeted when he recognized the poem on the sheet, but he forged on anyways. A deal was a deal, even if this one was a bit of a heavy topic.

“This one isn’t really finished, just warning you.”

“’S okay.” Xe looked over (and up) at him expectantly, and Cherri took a small breath.

“Right. Uh. Here we go.

Blood on your hands, a final goodbye. You drown in your grief, you scream to the sky. You held onto your pain, your fire, your rage. You cannot escape, your mind is a cage.

The people fell and the bodies rose. The deadly bomb brought the war to a close. Every body once had a beating heart. Every fallen soldier a craft or an art.

You fought a war from pain and grief. You are drowning, searching for relief. The wind whispers and shouts their names, The Phoenix Witch plays her games.

None of them deserved to fall, And in the night you’ll hear them call. They whisper oaths to the ones left behind, You offer quiet promises in kind.”

It wasn’t his best work, not by a long way. The rhymes were clunky and the symbolism obvious. It needed a lot of refining before Cherri would count it as finished, and even then, he doubted it would be his favorite.

But Fun Ghoul looked at the very least intrigued, eyes wide as xe asked Cherri “What does that all mean?”

“It means…” For once, the poet was at a loss for words. “It means that every person deserves to live. Every soul deserves peace. It means that there are no winners in war, only the ones who died and the ones left behind.”

“Oh.” Xe frowned, looking both thoughtful and awfully young. “How d’ you know this stuff, Cola?”

“I’ve seen it.” He debated how much was appropriate to tell a literal teenager, and ultimately decided most of his stories were no worse than what Fun Ghoul would have seen already.

“I’ve watched so, so many people die for no reason. I’ve seen killjoys die for love and their love die a second later. I’ve known parents who gave their lives for a future that their children never even got to have, I’ve heard tales of medics and neutrals who were just trying to help the wounded when they were shot down. I saw the loss of life in the Analog Wars and the years after, and I saw the grief that followed. I knew children who were forced into fighting for Better Living Industries and killjoys who ended up fighting their former friends; I felt the pain and wrote the tales.”

Ghoul stared at him. “Shit, Cola. That’s…”

“I know,” Cherri said quietly. “I’ve seen horrors that I can’t express in any typical way. That’s part of why I write.”

“Shit. That’s- that’s really rough.”

“It’s been a long time.”

It had been, longer than he wanted to think about- or really remembered, for that matter. There had been years where all the days blended together, and who knows how long lost in the haze of addiction and sunlight. It was so easy to lose track of the time when all your effort was focused on getting through each day, and he still vividly remembered the years spent in that state of survival mode. It hadn’t been long enough for any of those memories to start fading away, much as he wished he didn’t carry the pain of his past.

Cherri shook his head, clearing away those thoughts to focus on what Ghoul was saying.

“-an’ can I have some of your destroya-cursed tea? Poison hates it and I want t’ get back at ‘em for that prank they pulled last week.”

He had no idea what prank Poison had pulled last week, but knowing them, it had probably been dastardly. “Alright, you can have some of my very good tea.”

“No offense, but tha’ tea is th’ worst thing I’ve ever tasted.”

“Rude,” Cherri sniffed, but he ruined his own dramatic effect by letting a smile slip. It was impossible to stay mad at any of the Fabulous Four for long, not with their bright smiles and laughter always bringing the room to life, not to mention how truly young they felt compared to him. They were still teenagers after all, no matter how fiercely they fought or how famous their crew.

So he took a bit of the radio station’s precious water supply and threw together some tea, giving it to Fun Ghoul in an old plastic water bottle. “Here you go, trouble.”

Xe grinned. “Thanks, Cola!” He gave Cherri a thumbs-up before running off, presumably to head back to the diner and prank Party Poison.

“Be nice to Poison, okay?” Cherri hollered after xem. “Don’t prank them too much!”

“Will do!” Xe hollered back, not sounding entirely honest.

Cherri shook his head and returned to his poetry, only later realizing that the poem he had shown Fun Ghoul was gone.

Ah well. Sometimes, the young and reckless needed a reminder of what the might face- and what they were fighting for. He hoped his poem would serve that purpose well enough.

GX Month 2020

SUper late and I’m too lazy to do anything (as always), but this seems like fun to think about. So let’s go!

Day 1 (August 31): “Game on!” (It’s Judai/Jaden Yuki’s birthday today! Let’s celebrate!):

Jaden is a great protagonist. I love dumb but OP main characters, especially when they got lucky-go attitudes.

Day 2 (September 1): “Red, Yellow, Blue!” (Ah, the tier system at Duel Academy. Which dorm is your favorite?):

I’m attached to Slifer Red, lol. They got a cat for mascot, what more do I need? Also, they serve tempura for lunch.

Day 3 (September 2): “Rule the School” (These kids might be saving the world, but they’re still students with homework to do and exams to pass. Celebrate the school life today!):

Don’t know what to put here, but I was a terrible student because I didn’t study or do things in a timely manner. Do better than me, kids.

Day 4 (September 3): “Sometimes I Can’t Believe We’re Related” (10Join! Today is all about the iconic brother-sister pair, Fubuki Tenjoin/Atticus Rhodes and Asuka Tenjoin/Alexis Rhodes!):

I love this sibling pair! ^^ Alexis is really cool, and Atticus is so far out of the left field. I really thought Atticus was going to be cool like his sister, or edgy like Zane, but nah, this guy is, like, I just want to support my sister and play this ukulele. They make such a contrasting pair, so it adds to the humor.

Day 5 (September 4): “Pass The Salt” (No story is perfect. So what is something you wish you could have seen in the story of GX?)

I can’t think of anything.

Day 6 (September 5): “Going Down With The Ships!” (You know what I’m talking about. We all have an armada parked in the bay, but there’s that one ship, that one ship, that you would die for. Today is all about OTPs and OT3s!)

I really like Rivalshipping. I don’t really have that many ships for GX. 5D’s and Zexal are more of my jam.

Day 7 (September 6): “Bring the THUNDER” (Ichi! Juu! Hyaku! Sen! Chazz it up! Today the world does in fact revolve around Jun Manjoume/Chazz Princeton.)

HANDS DOWN, one of my two top choices for favorite rival. (Jack’s the other.) My favorite things about Chazz are his name, his energy, and that fact that he’s a baby brother. He’s so cute! ^^ I just want to make fun of him.

Day 8 (September 7): “The Power of Friendship!” (Favorite dynamic duo, two characters you think would have been friends if only they met, how friendship saves the day, or maybe a friendship fail. It’s up to you!):

Chazz and Pharoah, lol. I need Chazz to hold that cat and pet it. Why didn’t he? :’(

Day 9 (September 8): “Born to be Bad” (Inherently evil, brainwashed, misguided, or misunderstood. GX boots a colorful cast of villainy. Who’s your favorite bad guy?):

I haven’t finished season 4 yet, but Nightshroud.

Day 10 (September 9): Free Day/Introductions (Tell us about yourself and your GX experience! Your favorites, why you like it, how you got into it. Or leave the day open to do whatever you want!):

I’m known as kappa. I got Hulu, and Hulu has almost all the YGO series excluding VRAINS and SEVENS which is fine because I also have Crunchyroll and the internet, lol; so, I watched all the YGO series simultaneously, skipping back and forth between series. I did not watch any of them in order. GX was number 5 or 6, but it’s the one series I’m putting off.

Day 11 (September 10): “Cyber Legacy” (No Yu-Gi-Oh! show is complete without a pair of brothers. Today’s stars are Sho Marufuji/Syrus Truesdale and Ryo Marufuji/Zane Truesdale!):

I love these guys! It was great to see them grow and become their own people. ^^ They had, I think, the most realistic relationship.

Day 12 (September 11): “But What If We Had Bikes?” (That’s right! It’s time for the GX crew to rev it up on their very own D-Wheels/Duel Runners!):

I CANNOT DRAW. SORRY LMAO

Day 13 (September 12): “And You Are…?” (Got a favorite OC? Or one you’ve been hiding in the closet? Introduce them to the world today!):

I only have a Rivalshipping OC baby. Her name is Mira Princeton, and she has Jaden’s brown hair and Chazz’s dark eyes (with a bit of a golden glow). Since both her parents can see spirits, it’d make sense that she can too, lol. Her companion is Yata-Garasu, a rare card that her mama won at a tournament. She likes pink and flowers. She is very close to Aster and calls him Uncle Aster. She’s four, and most of her life, she knows her dad as the “Slifer slacker but a really good duelist.”

I love her. :)

Day 14 (September 13): “The Perfect Formula” (He duels with the power math and science! Today, show the world that you still remember Daichi/Bastion Misawa!)

Bastion is a funny character. “Everything is science. I’m going to disappear for several months. Don’t forget to forget me,” I think.

Day 15 (September 14): “Insert pun here” (It’s meme day! Recreate your favorites! Make some shitposts! Be the troll you’ve always wanted to be!):

Bastion: SIr, I’m afraid your DNA is backwards.

Jaden: AND?

Day 16 (September 15): “Creation and Destruction” (The Gentle Darkness and the Light of Destruction. The eternal struggle. And also the Darkness that tried to drown the world. Huh. Feels a little unbalanced.):

It’s pretty cool to have darkness and light reverse, and then watch as darkness conflict with itself, lmao. The Light of Destruction would be a chaotic good, and the Gentle Darkness as chaotic neutral. (Don't quote me on that, I don’t do personality quizzes.)

Day 17 (September 16): “Putting the D in Destiny” (Pro duelist by day and crime fighting vigilante by night. Today is Edo/Aster Phoenix’s day!):

He’s great. I like him. He’s the precursor to Declan Akaba’s D/D/D archetype. Maybe not. Can you believe that he actually said “Shmaden Shmuki on national TV???? LMAO

Day 18 (September 17): “In Another Life” (It’s AU day!):

Currently trying to write a fantasy-ish AU in which Jun marries the Supreme King. Trust me, I have no idea what I’m doing.

Day 19 (September 18): “I Was Here Too!” (GX has a vast array of unique characters, some of which we only saw once. Pick a “one shot” character and show them off!):

I have personally threatened my own Dutch bf into delaying any proposal ideas until both of our degrees are done bc the Future is my only motivator and if I get it too soon it won't be good lol. It cracks me up to think that as soon as quinn's criteria are met nando the simp trips over himself to propose (literally?) lol

Okay, people, because of this ask, and because I feel like it, it’s time to talk about far-future Quindo. I will answer some of your questions that have been looming based on my continuous dropped hints. Come with me on this journey.

And by the way, Brenna, it continues to entertain me how you and Quinn are literally the same.😂😂 Quinn would absolutely personally threaten Nando not to get too many creative ideas until they at least have gotten a place to live together, and Quinn has started in medical school.

Let’s hop under the cut and I’ll tell you some details! (This got so long, but no regrets.)

- So I think I’ve talked about this in a few places now, but something that’s always true with Quinn and Nando, even early on, is that they understand their relationship is long-term. Neither of them is really looking to date casually, and once they’ve been together for a reasonable amount of time to draw this conclusion (six months, I’d say?), they’re each already pretty much planning on getting married. Do I think they necessarily talk about this that early on? Probably not. But the long-term future conversations come along eventually, and they’re very much on the same page about everything.

- I also did this post semi-recently about the fact that their relationship very much contributes to each of them wanting to settle down. They both knew they wanted, like, marriage and kids one day before they had each other, but the presence of each other makes it much more real for both of them. With each other, there’s a person in those daydreams of the future, a more concrete plan in mind. Instead of just thinking of my future husband, they can think specifically of each other.

- Anyway. As I’ve said, Nando is already sort of thinking about proposal plans before they graduate. (Here’s a glimpse into his simp brain circa graduation.) But they also have a lot of other plans and things to do around the time of graduation. Here’s where they wind up at the time of graduation.

- Nando has secured a job, to start mid-summer, with the Phoenix Dept. of Social Services. Is this a real department that exists? Let’s just say I hope so. I feel like it has to. Anyway, it’s very much related to everything he studied with his sociology major, and it’s exactly what he wanted, and he’s very happy.

- Quinn is going to medical school. I feel like this has been heavily implied. Bear with me and suspend your disbelief a little, because, look: I fully understand how difficult medical school admissions actually are. And I also understand that you can’t necessarily be choosy with where you go based on geography, since the aspiring medical student in my life is always going on like I’m just going to apply to like fifty schools all over the place and go wherever I get in. But I want Quinn to have nice things and also geographic stability, so....

- Let’s just say Quinn puts a lot of eggs in the U of Arizona medical school basket. I think he submits other applications, but as we’ve discussed in mostly theatre contexts, Quinn is somehow an extremely confident person and also the king of underestimating his ability to succeed. He always expects disappointment, because he believes this is the key to never actually being disappointed. (See this ficlet for a theatre dive into his mentality on that topic.)

- For this reason, I think Quinn maybe anticipates a rejection in med school admissions. His plan, for if/when this happens, is that he’ll take a year off. He’s fully aware that that might hurt his chances with getting into medical school at all, but I think this is a good time to remind everybody that Quinn, for a hot minute, doesn’t really have a home. Nando and his family welcome him in when his grandparents disown him to ensure that he has a place to go, but the only reason Quinn isn’t homeless for awhile in there is because he’s living at college.

- And yes, I know that, like, renting an apartment and going to medical school is a thing you can do. But for Quinn, trying to establish stability in a life with Nando is the most important thing. He wants, desperately, to go to medical school, but is willing to delay that if the only way he could go would be to be very far away from him.

- We have to just imagine that things work out for Quinn, because, spoiler alert, he does get in at U of Arizona, to start the autumn after graduation. Senior spring, he gets a letter from them, puts it on his desk, and literally doesn’t open it for an entire day because he thinks it’s a rejection. The reason he does open it is because Nando sees it and freaks out.

- Anyway. For Quinn, I want good things. Therefore, he is simultaneously able to start a life with Nando and live out his academic and career goals.

- So this is an extremely long-winded way of telling you that Nando and Quinn move to Arizona after graduation, which I’ve told you in passing before. Because they are college graduates and neither of them has a whole lot of money, they actually move back in with Mama Hernandez.

- Please understand that Maria Hernandez, as a very Catholic Latina woman, welcomes Quinn into her home with open arms— but absolutely refuses to let them share a bedroom.😂😂😂😂

(On the phone, like a month before graduation.)

Maria: I’ve been cleaning the basement up for Quinn. Do you think I should clean out the closet, or will he only use a dresser?

Nando: Uh... Mama? What do you mean, cleaning out the basement?

Maria: Well, it’s where he’ll be staying.

Nando: .......... But we’re getting married?

Maria: Oh, not so fast, Sebastián. You aren’t married yet, are you? And unmarried couples under my roof—

Nando, who has heard this before: I know, I know, but—

Maria: It’s just the same as last summer.

Nando: But we’re looking for a house together—

Maria: It’s a matter of under my roof. No buts.

Nando, who has literally been sleeping in the same bed with Quinn 80% of the time for the past four years of college: Mama—

Maria: No buts, Sebastián!

- So they move into separate rooms in Maria Hernandez’s house.😂😂😂😂

- That summer, Quinn does another theatre thing the way he did with Gabi and Rosa the summer before, and Nando works at his Tio’s restaurant part-time while he waits for his new job to start. He keeps working for Tio, even if only a shift or two per week, even once he’s started his new job, because that restaurant was his papa’s along with Tio’s and he’s incapable of not helping out his family.

- They settle into a routine, and it’s a very lovely summer while they wait for the rest of their lives to begin. :)

- By the way, somewhere in the area of senior spring, Nando bought an engagement ring. It was the result of a lot of saving and planning, and it’s a simple ring but it’s very suited to Quinn’s tastes, and basically he’s just low-key bursting at the seams to get engaged. (Not that it’ll change Maria’s bedsharing policy😂😂😂😂 but he just really wants to be his fiancé.)

- But here’s the fun part. Quinn has also been thinking about proposing.

- Now let us all cry together while I tell you that Quinn goes to Maria to ask about proposing to him. It’s while Nando is at work at the restaurant one night, I think, and Gabi and Rosa are, idk, either out or just in bed. They’re 11 or 12, so they’re probably in bed. Quinn and Maria get along really well, so they’re just having a conversation out on the back patio at the house. They spend a lot of evenings like that while Quinn waits for Nando to get home from work and give him the one (1) goodnight kiss that Maria allows them before they retire to their separate chambers.

- The conversation is pretty standard of most ‘asking the parent because I want to propose’ conversations. Maria, of course, loves Quinn, and wants him to be an official part of her family by becoming her son-in-law, so she gives him her blessing. (By the way, I do think that Maria is aware that Nando is planning a proposal, but she’s possibly entertained by the fact that they’re racing each other to do it.)

- Maria leaves, for a second, during this conversation with Quinn, and goes up to her own room. She comes downstairs with something and puts it in Quinn’s hand.

- It’s Nando’s papa’s wedding band.

- She tells him that this is what Ángel (Papa’s name) would have wanted.

- Quinn is incredibly, wholly touched by this gesture. When he tries to propose, this is what he’ll use.

- And house hunting!! Obviously, they don’t plan to live with Maria forever. Getting a place of their own is their top priority as soon as they graduate, but they don’t have nowhere near enough money saved up to do so.

- I think I have to make a whole other post about how they get a house and also how the engagement ultimately goes down, because this is getting so long, and even though those two things are set in place and planned, I feel like they’d each double the size of this monster bullet-list. So... feel free to ask me about them, and I’ll elaborate!!!!

- I’m also going to elaborate on the adoption/accidental baby acquisition thing in a separate post. But what happens, and when, and how? Stay tuned and I’ll tell you.

Let me be honest about this. This was a series of replies I was sending to my good friend @lovezdarestevez4ever who found these hilarious. But also the fact with some of these details might bother people.

As of right now. I do not know if Vivziepop plans to do her interpretation of God. Or any other Heaven based characters. So I apologise if some things seem wrong with the information here.

Especially this interpretation of God I have thought of before. He's more like he simply doesn't care of what happens in Hell anymore. As if it's a 2nd thought....it was strangely inspired by Thomas Wayne in some regards in Joker 2019. Again I apologise. It's like he shrugs off what goes on in Hell these days.

Just like I told my friend. The story behind Lucifer getting kicked out of Heaven might be more dramatic than funny. Yet she thought it seemed fitting for the tone.

But still...again I apologise for anything wrong because I'm not really a religion guy. Including I fixed some errors and added a timeline on that conversation part between Lucifer and God. Along with I'm going with the information that Lucifer and Satan are two different beings which I learned before. Now I'm concerned if it's true or not but it might be true.

This is all for humor and I didn't wanna waste not sharing this. Especially I have read Vivziepop wants Weird Al for Lucifer. Yet I always imagined him with a deeper voice. Similar to regards like D.C. Douglas (Albert Wesker from Resident Evil 5), or even more like David Kaye(Megatron from Transformers). But I'll probably like and accept whoever voices him.

Again all for humor. Especially those casting choices....I will admit Peter Cullen has been a ideal voice for God in my mind for a long time. Jeffrey Dean Morgan was a casting choice I had for Twisted Metal. Rami Malek I chose because I wanted to respect the fact Jesus was Middle Eastern or something. Sorry for this being long, enjoy this.
