uhh hiiiii @thedemonsurfer / @thedemonscrawler this was intended to be for....... basically just chapter 17. especially the end of it but i have no idea what specific part because this was a year ago. (part of why i didn't post it is because, as i wrote in the corner of the page, "fuck my life he's supposed to be in a hoodie") (i think i was planning on redoing this one? but i never finished it.)

i don't know exactly when i made this- i didn't write down a date and i never took a picture of it- but i know it was sometime in june of last year. so! it's probably been over a year! that's fun! whoops!

I have a lot of older conservative relatives, most of them are surprisingly sympathetic towards Luigi (though a lot of it has to do with him being a handsome white man, rather than any appreciation for his supposed bravery.)

They’ve suffered decades of denied claims, and have lived long enough to realise that there is no peaceful way to fight back at the system. Regular people have no legal recourse to seek justice when we’re screwed over. Most of us are one medical emergency away from bankruptcy. The American healthcare system is so skewed, so evil, I don’t quite know how to express it to someone who hasn’t experienced it first-hand.

And yet, “murder is bad” is so deeply ingrained in them that they think he deserves some sort of punishment. They don’t want him to go away for life, but they’re also too stupid to realise that the chance to “reasonably” punish him ended back in December. He needs us Americans to disregard the evidence shown to us in court, to display some collective moral intelligence for once, to do the right thing even when it’s the antithesis of the law. We have to vote Not Guilty even if they show is a goddamn Livestream of Luigi doing it.

Unfortunately Americans as a collective voted for this disaster. And the disaster is much bigger than what’s happening to Luigi. Look at the state of the country. I’ve been asking every older conservative I know, and they genuinely want him to “do a few years” not realising that few years is not an option. They simply cannot justify letting a killer walk free, no matter how justified the crime. These idiots don’t understand how it works. They don’t know that it’s all or nothing. If we don’t save him, he’s going to meet a fate much darker than Brian Thompson did.

I will tell you this, the hardcore MAGAs want him to fry. There are people who vote red because they’re genuinely conservative, and there he has some chance, but the ones who vote conservative out of malice? They want him tortured and executed in public. I am scared of those people making it on to his jury. I am counting on Karen’s ability to spot these rotten pigs and get them kicked off…it’s my only hope.

i hope americans (and brainwashed white people in general) learn a few things very soon –

non-violence does not work, and sometimes violence is the only answer and it is absolutely right, and

privileged people like them have forgotten this lesson because people of colour have suffered at their hands and have ingrained that lesson in their blood while they looked away and this included people losing their life to the death penalty too.

also I know you said it is very hard to make those people sympathise with Luigi and they're really very idiotic but maybe trying to make them understand would help?? by telling them exactly what is at stake?? surely they're not rooting for a person like Luigi to be killed by the death penalty or to be deprived of every shred of life in LWOP?? maybe reasoning with them would help?? i don't know if it would but i genuinely hope it does.

i've had basically this exact conversation a few times and there are more asks currently waiting in my inbox talking about this, and i think Luigi's only hope of walking lies in KFA's capability of enforcing voir dire to make sure that he gets a female majority jury, with most people being people of colour. i cannot frankly see any hope otherwise.

Not to be a party pooper by saying this lol, but I keep seeing a lot of blogs (aot and otherwise) that repost artists' fanart without permission. Some others repost them and give credits to the OG artist but that doesn't mean much when the OG artist has never given permission for their art to be reposted outside of where they originally shared it themselves. These blogs can easily be identified with a quick check. If they are artists themselves, it'll be obvious. If they aren't, and all the fanart on their blog is of varying art-styles, and they never have permission stated on those posts, you can be sure they stole that artwork from somewhere and then posted it on Tumblr for the engagement.

Especially if you see "idk who drew this but it's awesome!!!" that is stolen artwork lol.

👀Well since you asked...

This is a chucao (photo sources 1 2) they're the first bird whose call I learned to identify because of how characteristic it is so that's why they're my fav birds. They live in the south, curious little creatures but very timid. You probably won't know there's one close to you until they sing and fly away. Oh yeah, also, they are LOUD. First time I heard one I got so startled lmao 😭 it was all quiet and then that thang screamed in my ear. It's like a birdwatcher rite of passage i think lol

This critter (photo source) is a band-winged nightjar (commonly called "gallina ciega" or "blind chicken" here) and they're completely nocturnal. First time I saw them was when I'd gone to stay over at my friend's house to go birdwatching in the early morning but we decided "hey since we're all here let's go on a night hike". We went to the hill at 12am and started heading back at 2am when we saw one of these fly over our heads and land on the path. They're extremely quiet, almost like ghosts. And their eyes glow super brightly especially when you shine a light on them (which you shouldn't do at least not for an extended period of time poor things lmao). Supposedly their cry is super eerie as well, but I've never heard it. Anyway there were like three of those that night. My group overslept the next morning but it was so worth it.

This (photo source) is a degu or ratón cola de pincel (brush-tailed mouse). There's cooler small mammals in Chile like vizcachas or yacas but unlike those I have actually seen degus irl which make them more special TO ME. The trick to spotting them is that they tend to reuse the same paths a lot and only go out in the early mornings, so if you arrive at a decent time and watch the burrows for long enough you'll see dozens of them running from one burrow to another or looking for food or even picking fights with each other. They're really cute it's always a joy to see them. Also the reason why people need to get their fucking dirtbikes out of the trails and put their damn dogs on leashes stop being a hazard to degus please :(

Finally this (image source) is a chilean bumblebee. They used to be far more common but have been outcompeted by the invasive european bumblebee and now they're endangered can only be found in remote locations far away from humans. I've seen one exactly once in my life and it was a really special sight. I don't know much about them unfortunately but they're a staple of chilean wildlife and super super important for the ecosystem, there's several plants that rely on them.

I'd love to keep rambling on about animals I've seen/heard (especially birds i love peucos and tapaculos and turcas and chercans and-) but I've been typing for long enough lmao. The funny thing is Chile's like the least biodiverse country in South America but we still have all this. So like. Naturalism is for everyone i think like even if you think you don't have any animals where you live i guarantee you have something to gather around in a circle with your friends and point at and go "OOOOO🫵🫵🫵🫵🫵" at.
