My trip to Walt Disney World’s Epcot as a Regressor!✨🥰🪩 Part Two (SFW)
Here’s the Second part of a thread talking about my day as a Regressor at Epcot! Below I’ll talk about the food, shops and the overall experience!
See thread below!🧵⬇️
Disclaimer- No one in my life knows about my Regression so I couldn’t fully fully regress, you know. Didn’t stop me from slipping a few times. I mean Disney is made for the kid inside of all of us! Perfect place for a Regressor!😄
If you missed the first part click here:)
Let’s talk about some food!😋
Like I state in my previous part, Epcot is broken up into two different sections: The World Celebration and the World Showcase.
When it comes to food options, I have a controversial take…don’t waste your time eating in the World Celebration.
In the world showcase which I talk about below you’ll see that there is a grand variety of food option in each country you visit. So take the time to go to your fav country and eat there instead🙌😋
Food in the World Showcase🥖🥨
This is the place to eat because…well…you literally have all the international food you can think of at your disposal! I had an amazing pastry in Norway to start my day off, then I had the most amazing sushi in Japan, then I ate a Jumbo pretzel in Germany. But the best by far was France!
When I go to Disney I’m more of a snack type of person than a sit down at a restaurant type of person. If you’re like me, then you gotta go to the cafe in the France Pavilion! THE PASTRY ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD! I could literally eat everything there😋
For people like myself with stomach issues or conditions, France is your place to eat! If you’re looking for something plain yet filling get yourself to this cafe l and order yourself a baguette! I wasn’t feeling too well when I went to France at the beginning of the day so I got myself some bread and LET ME TELL YOU IT WAS A LIFE SAVER! After that I started to feel better and ordered myself a dessert! So between getting yourself a baguette in France or a pretzel in Germany, you’ll be safe my stomach issue friends💞
In my opinion Epcot is the best place for food. Whether you’re looking for things on the plainer side or are looking for a wide variety. It’s your place to go to.
Shopping in Epcot🛍️
The beauty of Epcot is shopping in different countries. As someone who’s dream is to travel around the world, Epcot is the place!
I’ve always dreamed of going to Japan just for its cute Sanrio stuff alone. So when I went to Epcot I was hoping the Japan store would be the same…
I was not disappointed!!😆
They had it all!! Everything you could think of Sanrio, they had! Also for my friends who love Anime they had a pretty good selection too! This, in my opinion, was the best store in all of Epcot!
Other shopping options🛍️
Every country has a gift shop full of things that are from that country culture. I love China’s Lucky Cats and the Winnie the Pooh selection in the United Kingdom. So whatever country you go to they’ll always have something from the culture and something Disney that relates with it.
But out of the World Showcase they have great gift shops in the rest of Epcot too! Though these sell more generic Disney Merch. Not that it’s a bad thing! I got myself something from here and the World Showcase!
My gifts from Epcot!😄🙌🧸
Like I said above I REALLY wanted something Sanrio from the Japan store! So this is what I got myself!
I got Chococat! 😄 Being a big cat person myself, Chococat has always been my favorite of the Sanrio characters! He is super soft!! I’m so happy I got him for myself!🥰
Lastly, like I talked about in my first part I am a huge fan of the ride Journey into Imagination. So I got myself a cute plush of the ride’s main character Figment😄
The best thing about him is he sits on your shoulder thanks to a magnet! It’s so cute and I got so many compliments from people saying how cute they thought he was!🥰
Epcot overall🪩✨
Overall I had such an amazing time in Epcot! I learned a lot from the different countries I visited in the world showcase and had a lot of fun on all the ride I managed to go on!
Plus I got to meet a character this time! I met Donald who was just outside of the Grand Fiesta Tour ride!
He was so cute!! He kept pointing to his photo and saying he painted it. I complimented his outfit and he was so happy I liked it! He was so much fun to meet and was a really funny character!😂
I would definitely recommend Epcot to everyone who want to learn something new and have a fun time! Between the food and the rides, it was a really great time for me!
Oh! And don’t forget to watch the firework show at the end! It was beautiful! Plus the Epcot Ball lit up along with the show🤩
Thank you for taking the time to read all of this! If you have any questions about anything Epcot! Comment below!😄🪩✨

Top 10 Boat Rides at Disney World
Walt Disney World is home to a variety of delightful boat rides that allow guests to experience the magic of the parks from the unique vantage point of the water. From thrilling adventures to more relaxed cruises, there is a boat ride to suit every taste. In this article, we will countdown the top ten boat rides at Walt Disney World based on theming, storytelling, innovation, and overall guest satisfaction. For each ride, we will share details on its backstory, key features, and why it stands out among the best Disney has to offer. We'll also include related information like tips, tricks, and fun facts to help you make the most of your time on the water. So, let's set sail on our tour of the top ten boat rides at Walt Disney World! 10. Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros Located in the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot, this gentle boat ride takes guests on an adventure to track down the missing Donald Duck before his big Three Caballeros concert. The ride floats through scenes representing Mexico's culture, history, and natural beauty before arriving at a grand fiesta finale. While not the most thrilling attraction, Gran Fiesta Tour offers delightful scenes, catchy music, and a relaxing ride through one of Epcot's most vibrant pavilions. It's perfect for taking a quick break on hot afternoons, and little ones will enjoy spotting Donald's feathered friends along the way. Did You Know? - The Gran Fiesta Tour originally opened in 2007 as El Rio del Tiempo, focusing solely on Mexican culture and history. It was updated in 2017 to feature The Three Caballeros from the classic Disney film. 9. Liberty Square Riverboat All aboard the Liberty Belle Riverboat for a scenic cruise around Tom Sawyer Island on the Rivers of America! This large sternwheeler paddle boat replica takes guests back in time with its period-appropriate setting, props, and costumes. During the approximately 15-minute, one-mile loop, the riverboat passes by classic Disney frontier scenes and offers unique views of attractions like Splash Mountain and the Haunted Mansion. It's also a great way to rest your feet and enjoy a light breeze while learning about early American transportation. Just don't expect any big thrills on this leisurely, family-friendly ride. Fun Fact: - The Liberty Belle Riverboat was temporarily taken out of service from 2018-2020 while the Rivers of America was drained. This allowed for maintenance work and a rerouting of the waterway. 8. Living with the Land Living with the Land often gets overlooked but offers one of Disney's most unique ride experiences. This Epcot boat ride takes guests on a tour through experimental greenhouses that showcase innovative agriculture techniques. Along the way, you'll see a variety of fruits, vegetables, and fish growing with the help of natural elements and creative technology. It's an eye-opening look at potential future farming solutions. The ride then continues through additional greenhouses displaying desert and rainforest plant life from around the world. While it lacks conventional Disney theming, Living with the Land is an educational boat ride that fascinates both kids and adults. It also has an important message about protecting resources and producing food in eco-friendly ways. Pro Tip: - Be sure to check the harvest times posted at the entrance so you can see Disney cast members picking fresh vegetables that may end up in restaurants around Epcot! 7. Kali River Rapids Get ready for a wild whitewater rafting adventure on Kali River Rapids in Disney's Animal Kingdom! This thrilling boat ride takes guests down a turbulent Chakranadi River through a lush Asian rainforest filled with shrines, animal carvings, and ruins. Along the way, your circular raft spins and tilts past jutting rocks, choppy rapids, geysers, and waterfalls. And there's a good chance you'll encounter the big drop at the end that leaves rafters soaked to the bone! So if you want an exciting water ride that makes you feel like you're shooting Class III rapids, Kali River Rapids is a must. Insider Tip: - Try to ride earlier or later in the day when cooler temperatures make the soaking less miserable. Or bring a poncho! 6. "it's a small world" No list of Disney's best boat rides is complete without this cherished classic attraction. On "it's a small world", guests board pastel-colored boats for a delightful 10-minute cruise through regions of the world populated by singing children dolls. It's quintessential Disney magic. As one of the few attractions Walt Disney personally helped design, "it's a small world" debuted at the 1964 World's Fair before moving to Disneyland and later Walt Disney World. Today, it remains a vibrant celebration of global cultures that delights riders of all ages with pure joy and whimsy. Fun Fact: - There are over 300 audio-animatronic children representing countries from every continent except Antarctica in the ride. 5. Pirates of the Caribbean Ahoy mateys! No boat ride in Disney World offers adventure quite like Pirates of the Caribbean. Guests board vintage pirate ships for a voyage through the golden age of piracy, complete with swashbuckling pirates, treasure hunts, and rowdy pillaging. This iconic Magic Kingdom attraction influenced the popular Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise. It transports riders back in time with stunningly detailed sets, epic scenes, sophisticated animatronics, and the catchiest pirate ditty ever written. Five decades after opening, it remains one of Disney's crown jewel attractions. Insider Hack: - See if you can spot the real human skulls that were incorporated into the original ride! 4. Na'vi River Journey One of Disney World's newest and most innovative boat rides can be found on Na'vi River Journey in Pandora - The World of Avatar. This mystical attraction sends riders deep into the bioluminescent rainforest of Pandora on a sacred river passage. The queue sets the tone with alien plants and cultural artifacts before guests board reed boats for an immersive 3D ride experience. Encounter exotic Pandoran creatures through advanced projection technology and come face-to-face with the Na'vi Shaman of Songs who appears to float right above the river. Na'vi River Journey brings the fantastical world of Avatar to life through groundbreaking visuals and storytelling that make it feel like you're journeying into an alien land. It expands possibilities for what a Disney boat ride can be. Did You Know?: - The innovative ride system uses magnetic technology to smoothly guide boats, allowing the water to appear unimpeded. 3. Splash Mountain Hold onto those hats and glasses - this mountain finale is going to get wet! Splash Mountain takes riders on a classic Disney dark ride through scenes inspired by the controversial 1946 film Song of the South before climbing to the top of the mountain and plunging 50 feet down a steep drop into a Briar Patch. It's one of Disney World's most beloved water rides, whisking log boats through whimsical scenes accompanied by catchy tunes like "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah". The animatronics and sets immerse you in a Deep South bayou full of happy characters, at least temporarily distracting from the looming five-story plunge. Few Disney rides combine storytelling, thrills, and getting delightfully drenched like Splash Mountain. It's a rite of passage for every Disney World visitor. We realize Splash Mountain isn't open anymore, but we're including it in our list because it's one of our favorites and will always be a classic! Looking forward to Tiana's Bayou Adventure this year! Fun Fact: - On very cold days, the water on Splash Mountain gets heated so riders still get soaked! 2. Jungle Cruise The comedy and adventure of Disney's Jungle Cruise lands it near the top of our list. Guests board vintage tramp steamers for a 10-minute journey down four major rivers across Africa, Asia, and South America. But it's the hilarious skippers guiding the tour who make it truly memorable. As one of Walt Disney's opening day attractions, the Jungle Cruise entertains riders with a combination of corny jokes, cringe-worthy puns, and eye-rolling one-liners perfectly delivered by experienced skippers. And amidst the gags, you'll encounter animatronic elephants, pythons, gorillas hippos, and even angry natives from a lost jungle tribe. The Jungle Cruise remains a beloved classic because of its humor and charm. It's quintessential old-school Disney fun that makes for a truly delightful boat ride. Skipper Tip: - Ask to ride up front for the best view and chance to interact with your jokester guide! Frozen Ever After 1. Frozen Ever After Claiming the top spot as Walt Disney World's best boat ride is the wildly popular Frozen Ever After in Epcot's Norway Pavilion. This innovative dark ride brings the magical world of Arendelle to life with vibrant sets and advanced animatronics.Guests board ancient Norwegian fishing boats for a journey through key scenes from the beloved film Frozen. Glide past ice harvesters, the royal castle, Kristoff and Sven, before arriving at Elsa's ice palace glistening with magic. The grand finale features Elsa singing the iconic "Let It Go" as she creates a sparkling winter wonderland all around. With catchy music, state-of-the-art technology, and characters kids adore, it's easy to see why Frozen Ever After has hour-plus standby queues daily. No other Disney ride quite compares to the immersive experience of being part of Frozen. Insider Tip: - Use Genie+ or try riding at park open or close to minimize long waits. Conclusion From thrilling plunges to laugh-filled journeys, Walt Disney World offers exceptional boat rides suited for all ages and interests. With detailed scenes, innovative technology, and Disney's signature storytelling, these attractions invite guests to embark on magical adventures across the water. So the next time you visit, make sure to explore Disney World from a new perspective and set sail on these ten fantastic boat rides. Just watch out for those drops, rapids, and pirate attacks along the way! Read the full article

More on your Descendants rewrite concept?
Gladly!
Original post here.
So this rewrite revolves around the idea that, instead of Auradon and the Isle of the Lost, the Descendants movies would literally be set in the Magic Kingdom and other Walt Disney World theme Parks. I say WDW because it’s the Disney property I’m most familiar with.
It would follow a situation similar to the premise of the Kingdom Keepers book series, where the fictional Disney characters are brought to life and made real because of how much the park Guests believe in them - both Heroes and Villains.
Most of the royals and main characters reside in the Magic Kingdom because Fantasyland. Exceptions include Elsa and Anna (who reside in Arendelle at EPCOT) and Mulan (also resides at EPCOT, in the Chinese Pavilion in World Showcase).
Instead of the Isle of the Lost, most villains reside in Disney’s Hollywood Studios because of the special effects show FantasMic, which features them in the entire climactic segment of the show.
Plot-wise:
Beast and Belle are incredibly late additions to the Magic Kingdom, only receiving a castle and a place in the park with the New Fantasyland additions in 2012. Prior to this, they mostly resided in Hollywood Studios because of “Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage,” an abridged stage-show portrayal of their story that’s actually been running in the park longer than their movie has been released.
Because of the BatB stage’s closeness to the FantasMic stage, Ben has considerably less fear of the villains, and has even crossed paths with the VKs like Mal, Evie, Carlos, Jay, Uma, and more. Upon being moved to the Magic Kingdom in 2012, he misses the Studios, which was where he grew up; he misses them so much so that he asks, a few years after the move, if he can bring some “VKs” from Hollywood Studios to live in the Magic Kingdom, and let them attend the same school - we’ll call it Auradon Prep still for clarity - with other character children.
So Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos are invited from Hollywood Studios.
Maleficent, who is angry that she is defeated by Mickey Mouse night after night in FantasMic, tasks the VKs with finding and stealing the Fairy Godmother’s Wand, with which Maleficent could defeat Mickey Mouse once and for all and take over all the parks.
So. Plot and certain elements might need tweaking, but there’s my idea for a Descendants rewrite.
#disney descendants#descendants#auradon#isle of the lost#this rewrite removes the considerable wtf-ness of both auradon's worldbuilding and the isle of the lost#i like to imagine this magic kingdom already has the tiana's bayou attraction in place of splash mountain#also beast and belle won't be wildly out of character

27 Best Things To Do in Los Angeles
HOW WE RANK THINGS TO DOLos Angeles has an exhaustive array of things to do. If you're a film buff, vintage Hollywood is a must-see. Some classic attractions in the area include TCL Chinese Theatre and the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Paramount Pictures Studios, the only television and film studio left in Hollywood. For a taste of stardom, window-shop along Rodeo Drive or cruise Sunset Boulevard. There are also a plethora of shorelines to choose from, including Venice Beach, Zuma Beach and the Santa Monica Pier and Beach. Arts lovers will want to see a show at Walt Disney Concert Hall or swing by Los Angeles County Museum of Art to admire its collection. If you aren't sure where to start, a daylong guided tour of the city is a great way to orient yourself. And after exploring all LA has to offer, consider taking a daytrip south to Anaheim-Disneyland. Griffith Observatory and Griffith Park Griffith Observatory sits on the south face of Mount Hollywood and overlooks the Los Angeles basin. Its location gives visitors impressive views of the surrounding area, which many rave about. But there's more than just a pretty photo-op here. The observatory hosts fascinating exhibitions and features a top-notch planetarium. Most recent visitors cited the beautiful setting as Griffith Observatory's main draw, though the free entry was certainly a bonus. However, you will have to pay between $3 and $7 to see the planetarium shows. Griffith Observatory is open from noon to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, with extended hours on weekends. Free but limited parking is available along the winding roads leading up to the property, or visitors can park in the small lot by the observatory for $10 per hour. A gift shop and cafe can be found on-site as well. For more information, check out Griffith Observatory's website. The Getty Center The Getty Center is one of the most impressive architectural achievements in the United States – and it also contains some of the finest works of art in the world. The circular concrete-and-steel structure was designed by renowned architect Richard Meier, and it houses an abundance of art from various ages and nations. Here you'll find Renaissance paintings, 20th-century American photography, Baroque sculptures, historic manuscripts and more, all housed inside a sprawling, modern campus amid the Santa Monica Mountains. The museum also offers spectacular views of Los Angeles on clear days.Recent travelers loved the museum for its value and beauty, highlighting the contrast between the art center's subtle refinement and the over-the-top glitz of Hollywood. Many visitors suggest taking a guided tour, noting that the tour highlights interesting parts of the museum they wouldn't have stumbled upon on their own. Tours of the Getty Center's architecture and gardens are available, as well as a Collection Highlights tour and tours of art in specific eras. Tour times and days vary depending on tour type. Check the Getty Center's website for a complete calendar. Santa Monica Pier and Beach Just west of downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica contains one of the most legendary beach scenes in the United States. Santa Monica also boasts an abundance of great restaurants and excellent nightlife spots. The 3 miles of shoreline are renowned as some of the best in the area thanks to the soft sands, ideal weather and bevy of attractions. "State Beach," as it's known, has over 200 days of sunshine a year and acted as the backdrop for the popular television series "Baywatch."Santa Monica is a very walkable part of town, and many recent travelers suggest you explore the area by bicycle. Many visitors say the pier is a must-visit spot and fun to see. One of the most scenic rides is along the 22-mile bike path, known as The Strand, which runs parallel to the Pacific Ocean and takes riders through Marina del Rey and Playa del Rey along with Venice, Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo beaches. Travelers also recommend riding the Ferris wheel at the pier and people-watching at the Third Street Promenade. Hollywood Walk of Fame and TCL
Chinese Theatre One of Hollywood's most iconic and memorable sites, the TCL Chinese Theatre (originally Grauman's Chinese Theatre) opened in 1927 and represents the excess of Hollywood's Golden Age. You can tour the theater for $18 (kids tour tickets cost $8 and senior tickets are $14 each); tours are offered from 10:15 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day except Monday. Because of this attraction's popularity, it's best to reserve your spot online in advance. This working theater also shows various newly released films throughout the year.Overall, previous travelers said the tour guides' passion for the subject was evident, making their experiences special. However, some wished the area offered a glitzier atmosphere and others complained the tour was overpriced for what you got. Parking can also be challenging to find in Hollywood. Additional information about the attraction's tours and movie showtimes can be found on the TCL Chinese Theatre website. Zuma Beach Malibu has a reputation for excessive wealth and exclusivity, yet all of the town's beaches are public – everyone's welcome. If you're seeking an LA beach spot for sunbathing and swimming, look no further than this part of town. This 1.8-mile beach is far cleaner than those at Santa Monica or Venice Beach.Malibu's Zuma Beach is considered one of the finest beaches in the Los Angeles area. Locals and tourists laud Zuma for its awesome waves, ample parking and easy access to beachside snacks. Plus, there are a plethora of lifeguard stations and bathroom facilities. The Original Farmers Market and The Grove Sitting south of West Hollywood is one of LA's most beloved landmarks: The Original Farmers Market. Founded in 1934, this cream-colored facility reels in both residents and tourists with the promise of fresh produce and the aroma of ready-to-eat snacks. You can visit throughout the week, although hours vary depending on the day. Entry is free, but you'll want to have some cash on hand should any of the treats whet your appetite. You can park for free for up to 90 minutes at the market's two lots, provided that your ticket is validated at the market. (Fees apply for parking after the allotted 90 minutes and for nonvalidated tickets.) For a little help navigating the market, you can also take a guided foodie tour.Though some previous visitors wished this market had more produce and meat stalls, most appreciated the tasty dishes sold by many of the prepared food vendors and many call it a must-see spot. But keep in mind that this market is often crowded and has limited tables, so expect to eat outside the market area or wait for a table to become available. Find out more by visiting the market's website. Sunset Boulevard One of the most iconic thoroughfares in the United States, Sunset Boulevard continues to live up to its legends. In the old days, it represented the classic and glamorous Hollywood lifestyle and became the setting of several famous films, including the obvious classic "Sunset Boulevard." Today, the palm-lined street (which connects downtown LA to Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the Pacific Coast Highway) retains its cinematic appeal, and the Sunset Strip portion has become a popular nightlife spot. The strip is also home to many classic music venues, including the Rainbow Bar & Grill and The Roxy Theatre.Recent visitors loved driving along this famous boulevard, adding that gorgeous sunsets can be enjoyed during late afternoon drives. But like other parts of LA, this thoroughfare gets congested once rush hour hits, so plan accordingly. Los Angeles County Museum of Art Next door to the La Brea Tar Pits sits the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the linchpin of the Los Angeles museum district. Since its 1965 opening, LACMA has showcased thousands of pieces, from Islamic artifacts to European impressionist paintings to modern art. With constantly shifting exhibitions and unique architecture stretched across more than 20 acres of land, LACMA offers a rewarding experience for both serious art buffs and casual travelers.Currently, the museum is
preparing for the construction of a new building for its permanent collection, called the David Geffen Galleries, which is scheduled to open in 2024. For now, pieces will be on display in the BCAM and the Resnick Pavilion. The Urban Light and Levitated Mass exhibits remain open to visitors. There are three eateries on-site. While travelers commend the food, they note the restaurants are a bit pricey. Many visitors say the artwork on display is stunning, but several lament that much of the art is off exhibit because of the construction.
The Broad Philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad founded this museum in 2015 and the structure made for a stunning addition to downtown Los Angeles. The eye-catching, honeycomb building, designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler, is home to an expansive collection of contemporary art dating from the 1950s to the present. The collection includes works by Jean Michel Basquiat, Jeff Koons, Cindy Sherman, Kara Walker and Andy Warhol. In addition to the permanent collection, temporary exhibits showcase new and emerging artists. The museum gets high marks from recent visitors who loved both the artwork and the architecture.Admission to the museum is free (though some special exhibits may have a fee). For guaranteed entry, you can book timed tickets in advance. The museum is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parking costs $15 for three hours with museum validation, and $5 for each additional 15 minutes, with a $25 daily maximum. It is $15 after 5 p.m. on weeknights and all day on weekends. The closest Metro line stop is the Civic Center/Grand Park Station. Visit the museum's website for more information. Runyon Canyon Park Just two blocks from Hollywood Boulevard, Runyon Canyon Park is an often-overlooked urban park that offers some great views. The park boasts several hiking trails and is a popular spot for celebrities to exercise. During your hike, you'll see plenty of palm trees. Atop the canyon, you'll be treated to sweeping views of the San Fernando Valley.Travelers say that the canyon is reminiscent of Old Hollywood with several old mansions and estates scattered throughout the park – keep your eyes peeled as you follow the trail. Because of the hot, dry climate, the hike can be rough (even for those in great physical condition), so bring plenty of water. Some recent visitors lamented the lack of facilities, while others raved about the views. Paramount Pictures Studios Since the 1910s, Paramount has showcased the talents of film's all-time heavyweights, including Meryl Streep and Morgan Freeman. The notable site has been home to everything from classic television shows like "I Love Lucy" to modern favorites like Amazon Prime's "Jack Ryan" to box-office hits like "Mission: Impossible" and "Titanic." Today, Paramount Pictures is the only remaining film studio in the Hollywood area. For an authentic Hollywood experience, set aside some time to tour the grounds. On the two-hour studio tour, a guide will take you around the site's 65 acres in a golf cart, and you'll also be able to hop off and explore sound stages and recognizable studio sets from many current TV shows and movies. Previous visitors praised the friendly and knowledgeable tour guides, although some felt the tours offered at Warner Bros. Studio were better. Also, keep in mind the tours' age restrictions. Studio and VIP tours permit visitors ages 10 and older, while the seasonal After Dark tours only welcome travelers 16 and older. Rodeo Drive Immortalized by Julia Roberts' "Pretty Woman" shopping spree, Rodeo Drive is an upscale shopping street in Beverly Hills that features designer stores and small private boutiques. The area is popular with wealthy shoppers, sunglass-wearing celebrities and tourists hoping to see fashion icons.Don't be afraid to browse. Most shop owners are used to sightseers walking the area with little intent to purchase anything. That said, many recent visitors cautioned that some stores require appointments for entry and are generally off limits to tourists. Others said the thoroughfare can be a bit boring if you don't plan on shopping, although past travelers with a passion for cars enjoyed looking for expensive vehicles parked along Rodeo Drive's curb. Hollywood Bowl If you can catch a gig at the Hollywood Bowl, LA's beautiful outdoor amphitheater, don't pass it up. Since its inaugural season in 1922, this unique stage, set in the Hollywood Hills, has entertained thousands
of fans and hosted some of the biggest names in music, including The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Madonna, Elton John and Tina Turner. Many travelers praise the Hollywood Bowl, touting everything from the sound quality to the scenic overlook. Several also add that all of the seats offer great views and suggest arriving early with a bottle of wine and a picnic basket.
Venice Beach Developed in the early 20th century, Venice Beach is modeled – canals and all – after its namesake city in Italy. Admittedly, the experiment didn't live up to its Italian inspiration, but the neighborhood has become distinctly Californian, embodying the spirit of the wealthy, the alternative and the just plain bizarre. Rather than towering churches and intimate pizzerias, you'll find canal-side mansions near funky boutiques and restaurants.Venice Beach's claim to fame is its boardwalk. Hosting a daily procession of eclectic characters and scantily clad beachgoers, the boardwalk generally impresses out-of-towners. Past visitors loved checking out the area's unique scene (including the open-air Muscle Beach and the Hotel Erwin's High Rooftop Lounge), although some cautioned that the parts away from the pier were not appropriate for younger children. Other travelers note that the boardwalk sometimes reeks of cannabis. Also, remember that Venice Beach can get crowded on sunny days and is better suited for sunbathing, not swimming. Walt Disney Concert Hall This Frank Gehry-designed concert hall's curvaceous, stainless steel façade is an imposing structure in downtown LA. The hall helped revive this particular section of downtown, which was once dominated by mundane office buildings and lackluster entertainment options. Now, nightlife and culture burgeon in the area, and the concert hall is at the forefront. Music-loving travelers will want to catch one of the Los Angeles Philharmonic's performances here. (For ticket and price information, visit the Los Angeles Philharmonic's website.)But you don't have to invest in concert tickets to experience this performance venue: You can follow a docent-led tour or a self-guided audio tour of the exterior and interior (though the actual concert auditorium is off-limits). Hourlong guided and audio tours are both free; audio tours are offered Monday through Saturday from either 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 2 to 5 p.m., while guided tour hours vary by day and are generally available on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. For a full tour schedule, visit The Music Center's website. Hollywood Forever Cemetery As morbid as it may seem, your best chance of spotting a celebrity in LA is at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Here, you'll find the final resting places of Rudolph Valentino, Douglas Fairbanks, Judy Garland, Cecil B. DeMille and other stars who once worked at the adjacent Paramount Pictures Studios. Maps detailing the celebrities' gravesites are available at the cemetery's flower shop.Recent visitors described the cemetery's quiet grounds as "peaceful and serene," adding that the grounds are well-maintained. Many also appreciated the informative and friendly staff. Angeles National Forest In about a half-hour, travelers can trade in busy downtown LA for the serenity of nature at the Angeles National Forest. The almost 700,000-acre forest is an easily accessible place for locals and visitors to hike, bike, ski, ride horses, swim, fish and even camp. Encompassing the San Gabriel Mountains, terrain ranges from desert to dense forest. Perhaps one of the most visited sites is Mount Baldy, which is the highest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains at 10,064 feet. The 28-mile Gabrielino National Recreation Trail offers a variety of hikes, from moderate to challenging. Recent visitors loved the views and found the range of trail options perfect for different types of hikers.Visitors to the Angeles National Forest must purchase a National Forest Adventure Pass. It’s $5 for a daily pass or $30 for an annual pass; the pass is good at other national forests in the area. There are visitor and information centers in different areas of the forest, which offer general information, activities and education events. Visit the forest's website for specific hours and details. La Brea Tar Pits If your kids go crazy for dinosaurs – and really, what kid doesn't? – then a visit to La Brea Tar Pits is sure to be the highlight of their trip. Although the pits look like the set of a cheesy PG
movie, hot tar has been bubbling from the earth at this spot along Museum Row in the Miracle Mile for about 40,000 years. And from the gooiest part of LA, more than 3.5 million fossils from 600-plus species have been discovered. The adjoining museum houses many of the artifacts found at the tar pits; consequently, it is home to one of the largest collections of Ice Age fossils in the world. Recent visitors loved learning something new and found the site fascinating. You can check out the tar pits completely free of charge, but museum tickets start at $15 for adults; reduced entry fees are available for children, students and seniors. You'll save $1 on each ticket if you buy tickets online. All tickets include tours of property facilities like the fossil lab, lake pit and observation pit. Complimentary admission is offered on the first Tuesday of every month (excluding July and August) and every Tuesday in September, but ticket lines on these days are long, so consider reserving your pass online before you arrive. Even if you have to pay to visit, most visitors agree that the exhibits are well worth perusing.
California Science Center A world of fun and exploration await kids, as well as curious adults, at the California Science Center. In the permanent "Ecosystems" exhibit, museumgoers will learn about everything from islands to rivers to forests across eight different zones via interactive displays. In "Creative World," technology takes center stage and explores the innovation in transportation and architecture. But the top draw for recent travelers? The museum's "Air & Space" section which includes the Gemini 11 capsule piloted by Dick Gordon and Pete Conrad as well as a special exhibit about the Endeavor space shuttle. An IMAX theater is also on-site. Recent visitors say the center is wonderful, lots of fun and especially great for kids. The center is free to visit, though special exhibits and IMAX screenings incur a fee. Access to the Endeavor is included with an IMAX or special exhibit ticket. On weekends and holidays, a timed ticket is required to visit Endeavor. The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking costs $12. You can also take the Metro Expo Line to Expo Park/USC Station and walk five minutes to the center. Visit the center's website for more information. Dodger Stadium Baseball fans should enjoy a visit to Dodger Stadium, which is home to the LA Dodgers and is MLB's third oldest continually used park. The stadium is carved into Chavez Ravine and overlooks downtown LA to the south and the San Gabriel Mountains to the north, making this ballpark quite unique. If the Dodgers aren't playing when you're in town, you can still see the stadium on a guided tour. Tours of the 56,000-seat stadium last approximately 90 minutes. During the tour, visitors will learn about the stadium's history and may get to go on the field, look at the Dodger Dugout or peek into the Lexus Dugout Club (the VIP restaurant and lounge located behind home plate), which houses the team's World Series trophies and various other awards. Additional specialty tours, such as a Jackie Robinson tour, are also offered. Recent tour-goers say the guides are excellent and enthusiastic. The Dodger Stadium Tour is offered at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on select dates. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children 14 and under. Parking is $17 in advance and $25 at the gate, with no in-and-out privileges and no refunds. Tickets to baseball games are seasonal and prices vary. Greystone Mansion and Park Greystone is one of the largest mansions in Beverly Hills and an important landmark for American cinema. The nearly 13-acre parcel of land was a wedding gift from oil tycoon Edward L. Doheny to his son, Ned, in 1926. Construction on the mansion began in 1927 and took almost three years to complete. Greystone now represents a golden age in American cinema. Many films, including "The Big Lebowski" and "Ghostbusters," and television shows like "General Hospital" and "Gilmore Girls" have been shot on these gothic-inspired grounds.Today, the interior of the mansion is closed, except for special events and tours, but visitors are free to walk around the property. Two-hour park ranger tours of the mansion and gardens are held the first Saturday of the month from January through April as well as the first Sunday in March and April. Tours cost approximately $20 per person. For more information or to register for these tours, visit the website. Many visitors call Greystone Mansion a "hidden gem" within LA, saying that it offers respite from the city's hustle and bustle. Travelers describe the park grounds as spectacular and enjoy learning which of their favorite movies and shows used Greystone as a backdrop. Hollywood Homes Tours Once you've seen where the stars shop, where they eat, where they surf and where they party, you'll want to see where they live. A variety of minibus tours provide ample opportunities to spot homes owned by the rich and famous. You probably won't see the celebs themselves, but you can snap pics of the homes affiliated with A-listers like Sandra Bullock, Tom Cruise, Bruno Mars and Halle Berry. Also, expect to see
facades that once housed the likes of Lucille Ball, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. Along with the stars' abodes, buses usually make stops at the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Sunset Strip and Rodeo Drive.According to recent travelers, the demeanor of your tour guide can make or break your trip. Visitors stuck on tours with grumpy or mumbling guides wished they had just bought a map and done the tour on their own. Also, be sure to check the weather for the day: Extreme heat or a sudden shower can put a damper on an open-top bus ride. Universal Studios Hollywood One of the most popular attractions in the Los Angeles area, Universal Studios Hollywood features rides and amusements based on some of the most popular scenes and characters from film and television. You can take the famous tram tour past the creepy Bates Motel from "Psycho" and get caught up in a high speed chase with the "Fast & Furious" cast. Kids can shake hands with cartoon favorites like SpongeBob SquarePants and Scooby-Doo. Of course, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is another huge hit, as is Jurassic World – The Ride. If thrills are your thing, there are plenty of hair-raising coasters and rides. On Transformers: The Ride-3D, riders join Optimus Prime in his battle against the Decepticons; meanwhile, youngsters will love the 3D ride Despicable Me Minion Mayhem (complete with a Minion dance party).Universal Studios welcomes hoards of tourists each day; to forgo the long waits, travelers suggest purchasing the Express pass (formerly Front of the Line passes), which cost $179 to $279 each, online. This brings up another pain point: the price. At $109 to $129 for one-day general admission for adults and $103 to $123 for little ones ages 3 to 9 (when purchased online), a family excursion to Universal Studios doesn't come cheap, something some visitors find off-putting. Grand Central Market Grand Central Market, or foodie heaven according to visitors, is located in downtown Los Angeles by the Walt Disney Concert Hall and The Broad. The venue features high ceilings and an open layout, with food vendor stalls offering different cuisines that represent cultures from the Los Angeles area and beyond. The market has been in operation since 1917 and serves everything from coffee and pressed juices to deli fare, egg sandwiches, falafel, tacos and chow mein.Visitors love this market's lively atmosphere, while others thought it didn't live up to the hype. Regardless, this foodie paradise is popular, so expect lines. You'll also find that meals here are considerably cheaper than those served in other parts of the city. Hollyhock House Warner Bros. Studio Located in Burbank, California – a city that sits just 5 miles north of Hollywood – Warner Bros. Studio gives visitors a close-up look at iconic movie and TV sets and props, such as the original Batmobiles, costumes from the "Harry Potter" movies and a replica of the cafe featured in "Friends." Travelers will also drive around the studio's 110-acre backlot, where 30 soundstages are used for producing shows like "Young Sheldon," "Bob Hearts Abishola," and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."Previous visitors loved exploring this property and appreciated their "fun and knowledgeable" tour guides. Additionally, many enjoyed getting out of their golf carts to go inside a working set and other buildings used for filming, citing this as the main reason to tour this studio instead of others like Paramount Pictures Studios. But keep in mind, children 7 and younger are not permitted on any tour. https://travel.usnews.com/Los_Angeles_CA/Things_To_Do/

D23 Expo Announcements 2019
Epcot:
Renaming and reorganizing the sections of the park into four new neighborhoods: “World Nature” (Future World West), “World Discovery” (Future World East”), “World Celebration” (Entrance of the park spanning down to World Showcase Plaza), and the only returning member; World Showcase.
A recreation of “Cherry Tree Lane” and a whole new attraction based off of the ‘Mary Poppins’ movies will be brought to the UK pavilion.
“Journey of Water” will be introduced as a walkthrough attraction that connects World Celebration to World Nature. In this ‘Moana’ themed area, guests will learn about the natural water cycle and allow you to “meet and play with magical, living water”.
“Dreamer’s Point” will be a new area located in World Celebration that will feature a wishing tree, a new statue of Walt Disney, and an enchanted forest with a reimagined fountain. (This will be located in the current footprint Pin Central all the way to the Fountain of Nations.)
A new pavilion to play host to Epcot’s seasonal festivals will be constructed in roughly the area currently occupied by Club Cool and the Epcot Character Spot. The three story structure will provide ideal views for the new nighttime firework viewing.
All of Innoventions West will be demolished to make room for the new pavilion and “Journey of Water”.
Spaceship Earth (the attraction) will receive upgrades including a new script that will slightly alter the focus of the attraction. Instead of focusing on the history and progression of communication technology, it will instead focus on the changing of storytelling utilizing many of the same scenes from the current attraction. Guests will follow a magical “story light” that will guide you through the experience.
The 360 films in the China and Canada pavilions, “Wondrous China” and “Canada Far and Wide”, respectively, will replace the current films. “Canada Far and Wide” will debut in January 2020.
“Awesome Planet”, the new film for the Land Pavilion, will open in January 2020.
“Beauty and The Beast Sing-Along” will debut in January 2020 in the France Pavilion, sharing the same theater as ‘Impressions de France’.
“Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure” attraction and “La Creperie de Paris” quick/table service restaurant will both open in Summer 2020 in the France Pavilion.
After the limited time run of “Epcot Forever” is concluded, the new nighttime extravaganza “HarmonioUS” will debut as a permanent replacement for Illuminations. It is expected to be the largest production ever created for a nighttime show in a Disney Park.
The new ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ attraction in World Discovery will be named “Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind”. This will be the first roller coaster in Epcot and will feature a backwards launch. The attraction’s story will revolve around the guests going on a trip to Xandar, of which will go awry once the Guardians of the Galaxy come into contact. The ride vehicle will be able to rotate 360 degrees to allow guests to better focus on the action.
Next to Mission: Space the new restaurant will be called “Space 220″ and is slated to open this winter.
General Walt Disney World News:
A new app “Disney Genie” will be released in late 2020, this app is supposed to help organize and plan your day in WDW in conjuction to My Disney Experience.
The new Cirque du Soleil show in Disney Springs will debut March 20th, 2020
The new “Reflections” resort on Bay Lake will feature a restaurant inspired by ‘The Princess and the Frog’.
The Star Wars themed hotel being constructed will officially be called “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser”.
The experience will take place as a two-day, two-night adventure on the ship “Halycon”.
Guests will be immersed into a full story in which their own actions make a difference in how the experience plays out as they come into contact with certain characters and The First Order.
On one of the days, guests will go on an “excursion” to Batuu, otherwise known as Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios park.
Guests will be able to explore many different parts of the ship, and even train to use a lightsaber like Luke Skywalker with a training remote.

Hong Kong Disneyland:
In addition to the already existent ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Ant-Man’ attractions, the park is slated to receive some of the same offerings as the “Avengers Campuses” in California and Paris, but under the guise of the “Stark Expo” and not a third Avengers Campus.
Disney Cruise Line:
The first of three new ships set to sail soon for DCL will be named the “Disney Wish”. It will be the fifth cruise ship in the fleet and will feature the image of Rapunzel on the back of the ship, similar to the Dumbo figure on the back of the Disney Fantasy.

Top 5 Table Service Restaurants at Disney World
***Disclaimer: These are the views and opinions of the author(s). Though many Disney World visitors may share these opinions, they may not apply to the overall general public. All opinions are valid and appreciated. Note: I have also excluded Victoria and Albert's from this list. Though it is arguably the best restaurant at Walt Disney World, being a AAA Five Diamond Recipient. However, since the dining experience cost $250-$300 per person and is not suitable for younger kids, I can't in good conscience recommend the restaurant. If you do not have younger kids and have a lot of money to blow on a celebration, then by all means, go to Victoria and Albert's. Some of the best food at Walt Disney World is there. However, it will be excluded from this list because it is not younger-family and financially friendly. Planning a trip to Walt Disney World is overwhelming to say the least. There are so many different places you could stay and so many different places you could eat. And a lot of the times, it is hard to tell if you're going to a place with good quality food unless you do some serious research. So to make your next Disney trip easier, here are Travelers' Guide to Disney top five favorite table-service restaurants at Walt Disney World.
5. Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom
If you're looking for a scenic character-dining experience, look no further--Crystal Palace is for you! Located on the edge of Main Street USA, bordering Adventureland, the Crystal Palace offers a buffet/family style arrangement of American cuisine. It ranges between $35-$59.99 per adult and it also accepts some dining plans. If you're on a dining plan, it takes up 1 for either the regular or the deluxe plan. However, it does not take the Quick-Service dining plan. Set in a beautiful building modeled after the Crystal Palace Exhibition in Hyde Park, London in 1851 (which is now destroyed), you'll get too look upon the hustle-and-bustle in front of Cinderella's Castle as you dine with some friends from the Hundred-Acre Woods! Honestly, Crystal Palace is probably my favorite character-dining experience in terms of characters; you get a lot of bang for your buck. In addition, friends from the Hundred-Acre Woods are sort of rare to be seen anywhere else in Disney World (apart from the character meet-and-greet at the Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh, though that is commonly just Tigger and Pooh). You and your kiddo will get to meet Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore. For the Crystal Palace, it is really important to make a reservation and even then there could be a little bit of a wait time--it is one of the most popular restaurants in the Magic Kingdom. And though the restaurant itself can get crowded and a little loud, it is a great character-dining experience. However, if you are going with older kids or you and your friends, this might be a character-dining experience you can skip out on. That being said, you'll really enjoy it if you do decide to do it. I grew up going to the Crystal Palace, so on my latest trip it was hard to pass on this character-dining and try out new restaurants.
4. Be Our Guest at Magic Kingdom
Be Our Guest is the newest restaurant in the Magic Kingdom, a part of the overhaul that is New Fantasyland. Ranging between $15-$34.99 per person, Be Our Guest offers American and French-style cuisine a quick service/fast casual dining experience. For breakfast and lunch, Be Our Guest accepts 1 of all dining plans (the quick service, dining plan, and deluxe dining plan). However, at dinner since it is a character-dining experience, it only accepts 2 of the dining plan and deluxe dining plan. One of the reasons why Be Our Guest is on Travelers' Guide to Disney top 5 is its impeccable theming. Walking up the restaurant, you see the castle from Beauty and the Beast up in the mountains. It is truly amazing how imagineers made the castle appear life-size and far away. And as you walk through the broken archway and a bridge, you enter through the gates of what seems to be like a hidden fortress under a mountain range. And as you walk in, there is a beautiful mosaic of Belle and Adam, so make sure to snag a picture of that! You have the options to eat in three rooms: the ballroom, the library, and the west wing. The ball room is the largest and it is gorgeously decked out at Christmas. At the back of the ballroom there are seven large grand mirrors depicting a snowy night outside--and get this! For that display imagineers used actual animation from the original film! And if you look above to the breathtaking chandeliers, you'll see a fantastic mural on the ceiling--and the cherubs are the actual faces of imagineers or their kids as a baby! On one side of the ballroom is the library, which personally I think is the least cool room in the Be Our Guest restaurant--but that does not mean its theming is less extraordinary. The center of the room there is an arched enclave on a spinning Belle and Beast and depictions of scenes throughout the movie are hanging on the walls. On the other side of the ballroom is my favorite room (and probably the hardest to find tables in) is the west wing. This room is themed to the shattered remains of the Beast's personal corridors, with torn curtains, paintings, barely-lit lights. The iconic rose is placed in the center of a bay window--and this is something you should keep an eye on. Every time a petal falls, the Beast roars and the picture of Adam briefly flashes to that of the Beast. Note: if you make a reservation online prior to your Disney vacation, you can order your meals! It's always a fun treat!
3. Chefs de France in Epcot
Chefs de France is one of the more underrated restaurants in Walt Disney World, but I think it's one of the best. In the front of the France Pavilion at Epcot, it cost $15-$34.99 per person. It takes one Disney dining plan and one deluxe dining plan. Chefs de France offers a delicious menu of French cuisine surrounded by unique French theming. I had a mouth-watering filet that I devoured in ten minutes. It was truly one of the best dishes I have ever had a Disney World. The dessert section of the menu is also incredibly good, offering an array of French dishes that will surely satisfy your sweet tooth! The restaurant itself is family-friendly and offers amazing views of the World Showcase and the rest of Epcot. Commonly, there is also street shows in front of the restaurant. It's a really entertaining way to pass the time while you're waiting for your food. There is also a beautiful fountain that you can view through the windows of the restaurant. The French theming is impeccable, giving you a perfect Parisian vibe. As I mentioned above, it is family-friendly, but I still would recommend it more for older visitors, since it is not a character dining.
2. Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge
I've only recently discovered Sanaa and I really wish I knew about it sooner. Located in Kidani Village of Animal Kingdom Lodge (the Disney Vacation club section of the hotel), Sanaa offers delicious African cuisine with Indian flavors as exotic animals roam the savanna before you. Ranging between $15-$34.99 per adult, Sanaa also takes one regular dining plan and one deluxe dining plan. Though Sanaa does offer kids menu, I still would recommend this restaurant to older family and friends instead, for some of the food may not appeal to the younger audience. That being said, it is absolutely DELICIOUS. When you go to Sanaa, you have to get the Indian-style bread service. Before going to Sanaa, I had read numerous reviews all loving the restaurant and recommending the bread plate. You get five types of bread and my favorite was the Garlic Naan--it almost melts in your mouth. Then you get nine accompaniments, all ranging in different level of spiciness. My brother and I tried every single spread, which is probably one of my fondest memories of our latest Disney trip. My entire family has a relatively low spice-tolerance, so my parents found it quite hilarious when my brother and I got to the spicier accompaniments. Though the rest of my meal and the view of the wildlife was absolutely delicious, the Indian-style bread service was my favorite part. The view of the wildlife was also amazing. I definitely recommend arriving to Animal Kingdom Lodge before your reservation. For starters, it is a really pretty hotel to walk around. Secondly, the waiting area for Sanaa is an outdoor patio that is in the heart of the wildlife savanna. You can get a really great and close view of wildlife. When you go to Sanaa there's no definite chance that you'll be seated next to a window, so it is always good to get there beforehand so you can get a good look at the wildlife.
1. The Garden Grill
Numerous Disney blogs rank Garden Grill as the best character-dining experience and I one-hundred percent agree. I have been going to Garden Grill since I was a little kid and every time I go back I love it even more. It is my family's favorite restaurant and I don't see us ever not going. Garden Grill is a family style/buffet of American cuisine in Future World of Epcot. It is $35 to $59.99 per adult and also accepts one dining plan and one deluxe dining plan. Not only will you get to meet Chip and Dale, but also Mickey and Pluto in their special Garden Grill outfits. What makes Garden Grill unlike any other restaurant is that it is slowly rotating--that's right! It's spinning in a circle. However it is so slow that you barely even notice and does not give you motion sickness or effects your meal. You even go through a bit of Living with the Land, a fun educational ride about our earth's ecosystem and is definitely an attraction you should hit before or after your reservation. Speaking of reservations, you should always make one at Garden Grill; it is so popular that sometimes there is even a wait time with one. Garden Grill has some really great comfort food that really hits the spot, especially during the holidays. It is incredibly family friendly and even the young kiddos will love the food. Everyone is super friendly and you should definitely make a reservation at the Garden Grill during one of your days at Epcot!

There are caves and bridges and trails you can explore until you are all explored out. You do have to take a somewhat crowded boat from Frontierland to the island, but once you are there, you often feel as if you have the place to yourself. One that I'll admit I skipped over for years was Tom Sawyer's Island in Magic Kingdom. There are "hidden" spots to take a breakĭisney World can get quite busy and crowded at times, but there are hidden spots throughout the parks where you can escape the crowds without sacrificing one single, solitary ounce of Disney magic. There are restrooms nearby in Frontierland and Fantasyland or, if you are dining at Columbia Harbor House or Liberty Tree Tavern, you can use the restroom there. Disney, ever the masters of theming, chose to stick to the timeline and build the land without public restrooms. Liberty Square is set in colonial times when indoor plumbing did not exist. You are never too far from a bathroom (or trash can) at Disney World, but there is one land in the Magic Kingdom where you won't find a single public restroom – Liberty Square. One land in Magic Kingdom has no bathrooms Pricing starts at $3, such as for the TPG button we made on a recent trip. You can choose from a variety of fonts, colors and illustrations to jazz up your souvenir and they also sell a variety of customizable holiday ornaments in the shop. You can watch a daily flag retreat ceremony You'll also see a sign for a Flower shop with the address "1401." This is a reference to the location of Walt Disney Imagineering in Glendale, CA, at 1401 Flower Street.

The Manatees & The Storm
My high school friend Sarah was still in town for a few days. We had the choice of two parks to visit. I’m sure most people would pick Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. We instead picked EPCOT and Animal Kingdom. I could not let her leave Walt Disney World without getting to show her my home park. Our first stop though, was EPCOT. It was another gorgeous day. I told Sarah she was getting really lucky with the weather. The humidity was tolerable and the minimal clouds helped cover the sun.
Beyond Starbucks, our first stop was The Seas. I’m sure that’s not where most people start, but I knew Sarah was excited about one thing: manatees. As we walked up to the Nemo ride, I told her she was going to get to see real live manatees. She instantly started crying real actual tears.
The exit for Nemo’s ride dumps right into an aquarium. It’s one of my favorite spots in Walt Disney World. It just has so much to look at, and despite being a ride dump, it never has that many people in it. I guess many people don’t pay the Disney price to go to an aquarium of all things, but to me it’s a hidden treasure. So we rode Nemo and went on to the aquarium.
Inside the aquarium we saw dolphins, manatees, and endless fish. Sarah was in heaven. We meandered on through until we reached the gift shop. The gift shop was one place I always wanted to work and never did. In part because after my one EPCOT experience backstage, I wasn’t quite ready for another. The other part of it was that I didn’t really see a ton of shift openings for it. I still wish I had sought after it a bit more.
Stormy clouds started to roll over EPCOT. The potential for rain lingered but the day remained beautiful. Spring is one of my favorite times to go to Walt Disney World. The weather is usually nicer and EPCOT’s Flower and Garden Festival usually takes place for the majority of the season. We headed over to World Showcase so I could show her some of my favorites.
World Showcase is a popular favorite. Tourists are amazed by the amount of detail in each pavilion. Returners have favorite spots they love to hang out and relax in. While I enjoyed World Showcase, I personally didn’t have a lot of attachment to it. I liked walking around, I loved the festivals, but I didn’t necessarily need to visit every country every time. In fact I still haven’t visited most of the attractions. But it is something I feel like everybody needs to at least see, especially because I know my opinion is an unpopular one. There is so much to see that some people feel like they could spend their entire lives there. But for me, it is one of those things that remains stagnant. Luckily Flower & Garden was well under way, and I already had several favorites.
The first favorite is the infamous Frozen Lavender Lemonade. On my first visit to Flower & Garden I happened to be in the right mood, and was easily convinced to try new things. Usually, I steer away from newly flavored drinks. I’m not a super picky eater but I’m definitely a picky drinker (alcohol or no). The fact that it was purple didn’t dissuade me, nor did the fact that I had no idea what on earth lavender would taste like. I went ahead and tried it and fell in love, much like everybody else who tries it. It’s the perfect mix of sweet and sour. It’s smooth and cold and wonderful on warm days in a park that doesn’t have a lot of shade to offer. Of course that was one of our first stops.
We made our way through all the pavilions, stopping for the occasional picture, pausing for the shows we ran into, and paying for small snacks along the way. We took our time wandering through shops in countries that fascinated Sarah. I remember us not having a ton of time though I really can’t remember if it was because I had work that morning or if it was because we had both decided to sleep in. Whatever the case, we made what we could out of the day and had a blast doing it.
By the time the sun went down, we were in the Mexico Pavilion and had made our way all around the world. My favorite food is Mexican food, so we stopped under the covering for some nachos and decided to stay in the area to wait for illumiNations. Shortly after we grabbed seats though, it started to storm. Rain drizzled down and lightning lit up the sky. It was common in Florida. Most of the time it lasted 20-30 minutes and then moved on. Sarah asked if IllumiNations would be cancelled, but Disney doesn’t cancel things until the very last minute because weather can change in an instant. When it became clear that the storm was going to linger and IllumiNations was not going to happen after all (about 10 minutes before they actually made that announcement), we decided to make our way to Spaceship Earth. My roommate Dana worked that night and I wanted to pay a visit. We packed up our things and headed out. I mentioned earlier that EPCOT has no shade. Well, it also offers very little shelter from rain and storms. For whatever reason, that is the park I got caught in the MOST during storms. From the Mexico Pavilion to Spaceship Earth, there is almost no safe place to walk in the rain. We knew this and decided to go for it anyway. A little rain never hurt anyone and Disney had lightning rods installed in several of their buildings to keep guests safe. So we started running. The rain got harder until it was an absolute downpour. There were no guests in the streets and the lightning had gotten super close. The entire park was 101 - meaning all Cast closed outdoor locations, escorted guests to the nearest covering/shelter, and got to a safe place until the storm cleared. Ultimately it is up to the guest to decide whether or not they want to walk in the storm. No Cast Members can tell you that you have to go inside, and truthfully nobody had advised us to stay under cover. We were halfway across the bridge out of the Mexico Pavilion before we realized it was raining way too hard. We ran into one of the Ports of Call shops for safety. The store was packed with other guests seeking shelter, but we were the ones who ran in dripping wet.
As a Californian, I will forever love playing in the rain. We just didn’t get that much rain and when it came, it was special. So I was never bothered by rain in Florida. I never minded racing through storms and winding up soaking wet. Inside the store, guests were talking and mingling with one another. People were estimating how long the storm would last, locals were trying to convince visitors that it wouldn't last long, and normal chitchat ensued. Sarah and I started talking about whether or not we should pursue our goal to get to Spaceship Earth. Both of us agreed that if we were going to do it, we needed to go ahead and do it then.
The only problem I have with running in the rain is that, without fail, the rain fills my glasses with water droplets making it impossible to see. Then water starts to drip from my glasses into my eyes, making my sensitive eyes burn. I normally try to keep my head down to keep the water out, and get to my destination as quickly as possible.
We made a plan, and we had it figured out. A few other guests behind us were cheering us on. Nobody was outside. We ran out of the sliding doors and right into the giant lake that had formed in the entrance of World Showcase. The drains couldn’t keep up with the amount of rainfall, and massive puddles were starting to form. It was dark so we couldn’t really see where they were until it was far too late. We were ankle deep in water, I was completely unable to see, and Sarah was holding my hand and pulling me along with her. Just as I go to look up, an incredibly bright light filled the area. No time passed and the thunder came right behind it, making a deafening noise. Guests from the shop behind us gasped and/or screamed as the noise made them jump. Sarah had crouched to the ground with her hand over her head, panicked. The wind picked up, the rain fell harder, and the lightning was right on top of us. Sarah grabbed my hand and we booked it back to the store, letting the storm claim victory. By that point we were even more soaked and breathing hard.
A few guests thought it was hilarious how soaked we were and wanted to take our picture for us. I managed to clear my glasses with another nice guest’s help. About 10 minutes later the rain let up. Lightning was sill in the area but a few guests started to head towards the front of the park. World Showcase was pretty much a lake and guests were sloshing through the flooded park. We still had a bit of time before the park closed so we made our way to Spaceship Earth. Nobody was in line and Dana wasn’t in the front greeting, so we headed up. Inside it was freezing cold. Their air conditioning was still on and when the cold hair hit our dripping wet clothes, we froze. We found Dana at the top of the ramp loading guests. I introduced Sarah and Dana and we caught up for a second. Soon, guests were behind us and Dana had to get to work. If my memory is correct, Sarah and I didn’t stick around to ride. We were too cold and were ready to go home so we went back through the exit and called it a night. The front of Future World was a lake too. I attempted to get a picture of the flooded area, but it was so dark.
There’s nothing quite like getting caught in a Florida storm during your day at the park. I honestly kind of miss it. Even though we were uncomfortably wet, we were happy. We had an amazing day and I was so happy to share that with Sarah.

DISNEY TIP! Save this post if you’re planning a trip to WDW. I just checked out of the new 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐚 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐭 at Walt Disney World which was our host hotel for the #DisneyCreators conference. We absolutely fell in love with this resort because of its access to the new 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐒𝐤𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫! The Skyliner offers quick and easy access into Hollywood Studios and Epcot. At Epcot it actually drops you into the park at the World Showcase near the UK pavilion. The ride takes about 10 minutes and is an attraction if it’s own! The Riviera Resort is also a DVC (Disney Vacation Club) property so you can rent a unit with DVC points or book a stay as a regular hotel guest. I also loved that the property is fairly compact and easy to walk around. There are two nice pools, one with a waterslide and a quiet pool. This photo is the central courtyard and has access to both pools, a giant chess board, a bocce ball court, and their quick-service restaurant, Primo Piatto. I saw quite a few families relaxing and hanging out here in the evening.
