I have not been in the pokemon/submas fandom since, like, 2022??? Welcome back, me, i guess. I will try to still post AA stuff every now and then, but sadly, the twins have consumed my brain yet again.

The idea behind the image is the train ride from wherever arceus dropped them off in unova (after emmet made a deal with him to take ingo back) back home.

Its the "last train home" because they will never be separated again. Its the last train they'll have to take where they had ever been separated. Its the last train till their forever home, eachother.

Making this was mainly a challenge for me since i hate backgrounds, but also as a reference to this plain sketch entitled similarly.

Consider this a pt 2, i guess? Idk.

Ages ago one of my friends in Unova inherited their mother's Clefable after she passed away. To spare it the noise and mess that comes with construction and moving out, they found a shelter to temporarily house it, but when they wanted their pokemon back, the shelter dragged their feet saying they didn't think they could care for a Clefable. I call bullshit, both their mom and them always made sure to live in remote areas so it wouldn't get overwhelmed by the noises of human cities. One day Clefable wasn't there anymore. Freed from abuse to live its full potential, they said. My friend tried to press charges but the case was always left to go cold; they had to grieve again and move on, but truth be told if shelters can do that and did so to separate my pokemon and I, I'd be on the news. I recently asked a worker at my local shelter (in another region) about it and they replied that maybe I'm misremembering and Clefable really was unhappy and I'm filling in my memory with reasons to be mad, but you can't make "freeing pokemon to live their full potential" up. Was this fucked up or was the shelter worker I talked to right ? Can shelter force owners to let go of their pokemon ? Honestly this made me avoid them, I don't really want to help make this happen to someone else even if I agree it's not normal to think like this. I trust your opinion more, hoping you can light my lantern.

some shelters will indeed allow you to put your pokemon into temporary boarding with them in case of emergencies...but to be honest, it really sounds to me like your friend was taken in by a "shelter" run by team plasma. well-run shelters will NEVER release a pokemon unless it's brought in as a wild rehab case. we also can't just decide that you aren't capable of taking care of a pokemon you already own, because that constitutes pokemon theft. we can refuse to adopt a pokemon out to you, even if you were the one to surrender it- but if you're just boarding a pokemon, that pokemon is under your ownership and belongs to you. rangers and police officers are the only people who can seize a pokemon from its trainer based on welfare concerns, so the most a typical shelter could do is make a welfare check report.

these shelters/rescues were a common ruse used by team plasma back in their height, unfortunately, and your friend is not alone in losing a pokemon this way. i imagine the reason why the case never made progress is because team plasma had some very talented legal experts working for them. it's likely that, somewhere in her boarding contract, there was a clause giving them the right to confiscate the pokemon if they believe it's not in the pokemon's interest to return to its trainer. i'm very sorry this happened to her. unfortunately, outside of public government-run facilities like ours, there's not a ton of regulation into who can claim to be a rescue. it's always super important to research any shelter or rescue you go to as a result. there are tons of awesome private shelters/rescues run by incredible nonprofits and individuals! but not every facility is run by people with the best interest of pokemon and their trainers at heart.

Bruce crashed to the ground.

The bright green portal that brought him here snapped shut above him leaving him stranded in an unknown location. He had just managed to stand up when he heard someone call out to him.

"Hey!" A boy with black hair and blue eyes came running up to him, "Are you okay?"

Bruce grunted, glaring at the small creature trailing behind the child through his cowl, "I'm fine. Where am I?"

"You're in Unova, smack dab inside the Pinwheel forest." The kid said, "What an unlucky place to land."

"Unlucky how?"

Aside from giving him a disapproving look, the child was unfazed by his tone. "The Pinwheel forest got its name because its a natural maze. The monsters here are weak but you might find yourself going in circles if you're not careful."

Batman thought for a moment, "monsters?"

The child smiled and Bruce thought he looked like his other children before the boy excitedly introduced his "partner pokemon": Aron

The Aron in question made happy little noises as it approached and nuzzled its metal face into the side of Batmans boot. Cute.

"Oh, by the way, my names Danny. Do you want me to take you to town? There's a professor there that you can talk to. She might not be able to help you get back to your home world but maybe she can find someone who can."

Batman narrowed his eyes at him, "How did you know I wasn't from this world. Thats not usually the first conclution people jump to."

For the first time since Danny had met the Batman he actually squirmed a bit. "Anyway, let's get started! It's a long trek to town!"

It took them about two days to get out of the forest. Danny had thankfully lent him use of his equipment and food. It was nice having a tent to sleep it when the rain hit on the first night, even if it was a little cramped. Aron curled up between them to soak up thier body heat like a housecat.

It was also a relief that Danny could cook, though Bruce had no idea where the child was storing all of this stuff.

Danny ran off into town, saying that people were going to ask a lot of questions if a guy dressed as a bat came strolling into town and if he was going to be staying in this world for a while it was probably best to get him some normal clothes.

Bruce reluctantly agreed and after telling him his sizes the kid ran off to the store, leaving Aron behind to "protect him". Bruce hated relying on a childs generosity to get by.

Soon enough the kid came back with an all black outfit, saying something about it suiting him. Bruce left to change and came back to Danny giving Aron and his other pokemon Staryu some Oran berries.

After that they finally set off to town.

The professor was nice, if infuriatingly calm about giving literal monsters to random children. The professor even offered Bruce a pokemon egg since he was probably going to be in this world a while.

Bruce accepted the gift, wondering what he was getting himself into when Danny got excited.

The child explained that he was a treasure hunter/explorer by trade that survived by finding things he could sell in shops but he wasn't a very strong trainer and had to be careful where he went due to the presence of powerful pokemon.

Danny then asked Bruce to travel with him to be his bodyguard.

Bruce was very displeased to discover people set thier kids loose into a monster infested world around the age of ten and horrified to know the actual survival rate of this stupidity.

Bruce agreed to protect him and got registered as a pokemon trainer and was given the egg and some pokeballs. Danny offered to teach him how to catch pokemon as Bruce planted a listening device somewhere.

They set off back into the pinwheel forest to catch Bruces first pokemon and to start thier journey.

Meanwhile, Dannys excited to travel with someone who seems like a proper dad.

It couldn't hurt to pretend, right?

In any case, I have a silly Au for y'all to munch on.

Allow me to introduce you all to Covalent Twins :]

Covalent

Adjective

- Relating to or denoting chemical bonds formed by the sharing of electrons between atoms.

Or in this case, the sharing of Emmet between 2 Ingos from different timelines NSNDNNDDD.

This Au is essentially the answer to the question: "doesn't being sent to the distant past inherently mean you are also now long dead in the future you just left?"

The answer is yes and no btw

The explanation for this involves a lot of time nonsense that I'm very bad at explaining but the Tldr is basically this:

When Ingo gets sent to the past, this creates a connection between the past and the future. This makes time get all fucky and split into two separate timelines (Timeline A and Timeline B)

Timeline A:

Time in this timeline runs parallel to the future as long as Ingo stays within it (essentially, if Ingo stays in the past for 2 years, then 2 years pass in the present).

Due to this connection, Akari (aka Dawn) gets sent to this timeline (But not Timeline B) and the game events of PLA play out (+ a lot more Ingo bonding because uncle Ingo supremacy)

Akari manages to get her and Ingo sent back home with the power of Arceus, causing both timelines to merge back together again into one cohesive line with only the events of Timeline B being remembered by history.

Ingo and Emmet get their happy ending.

This Ingo got sent to Hisui when he was 29, stayed there for 2 years, and went home when he was 31.

And Timeline B:

This timeline was created as a cannon fodder timeline so Akari and Ingo can keep doing time shenanigans in Timeline A without disturbing the space time continuum even more.

This timeline is therefore not connected to the future the same way Timeline A is.

The Ingo of this timeline (Nicknamed "War" or "Warden" for simplicity.) lives through the PLA game events but with Rei taking the place of Akari.

War doesn't bond with him the same way Ingo does with Akari because Rei isn't a faller.

The events of the game are the exact same (minus the Arc phone, Rei taking the place of Akari, and catching Arceus).

Despite Rei calming the nobles and catching Palkia and Dialga, he is still not the chosen hero. Warden is unable to go home or regain his memories.

Warden lives in Hisui and serves as a warden for the Pearl Clan for a total of 7 years before dying alongside his partner pokemon, Gliscor (nicknamed Nimbasa), while protecting Lady Sneasler from a Zoroark attack at the age of 36.

Warden drifts as a ghost for many years, with only Nimbasa the Gliscor as company. He watches his friends grow old, and eventually die. They pass on to the afterlife, but Warden stays on earth, wandering the Alabaster Icelands and Mount Coronet, searching for people from a life he can't remember even in death.

Warden watches as Hisui changes into Sinnoh. Jubilife Village becomes Jubilife City. Pokemon species die out and new ones are born.

As the world slowly becomes more and more familiar, the great Sinnohs, Palkia and Dialga, take pity on the lost warden, and decide together to lead him home.

It may take 150 years, and many miles of travel, but Warden is pulled by an unknown force towards the Unova region. Though he is unable to touch anything or speak to anyone, it's all so painfully familiar.

He is pulled towards Nimbasa city, (ah! That's where he got the name from!) and eventually to an apartment.

There, he is greeted by a young girl, barely 17. A man in black, who looks exactly like him, give or take a few years and a few scars.

And a smiling man in white. The man he has been searching for for over 150 years...

And they're staring at him, truly staring at him, not through him.

Why is the man in white crying?

Ex-Trainers to Lovers

Raihan

You haven't been back to Galar since you were 16. Your family moved to Unova after your 16th birthday. You had to say goodbye to everything and everyone you knew.

You were especially upset to be leaving your trainer buddy Raihan. You knew that it wouldn't be the same now as it was back then. You met up with Raihan at a coffee shop near his home and decided to catch up.

"How was Unova? Did you make a new trainer buddy while you were there?"

You sighed and looked at him.

"You know that I could never replace you, Rai. You were and will always be my only trainer buddy."

"I know. It's just that it felt empty without you here. Leon is fun to battle, but it's just not the same."

You put your hands on his hands which makes him look at you.

"Rai, your feelings are valid. Now how about I tell you about the twin subway masters I got to battle."

~11 months later~

You were in the stands watching Raihan and Leon battle.

Of course you were wearing your Raihan merch and cheering him on. You noticed how he was off his game during the battle. After it ended you ran to the locker room. You knocked and the door opened, so you walked in. You saw Raihan with his head in his hands and you sat down next to him.

"If you don't want to talk about it that's okay."

That's when Raihan kissed your cheek.

"I'm in love you, Y/N. If you don't feel the same way then I completely understand. I understand because we haven't seen each other since we were sixteen."

You kissed his cheek and he looked at you with a surprised expression.

"I've never stopped loving you, Rai."

Piers

You and Piers were once rival trainers. Throughout the years many thought you and Piers hated each other. But it was all a fun game to you two. After Piers became a gym leader you two slowly drifted away.

You were walking around a clothing store in Spikemuth and spotted Marnie. She saw you and the two of you started talking. That was until Piers showed up to check on Marnie.

“Hey Piers. How is the life of a Gym Leader treating you?”

You asked him trying to make conversation

“It’s been alright. I’m thinking about retiring and passing the gym onto Marnie.”

You nod and notice that Marnie managed to slip away from the conversation.

“How have you been, Y/N?”

“I’ve been okay. Life has been boring without you honestly.”

Piers blushed and tried to hide it.

“I mean I guess that’s because I’ve been busy with the gym and stuff.”

“Would you like to… um get dinner with me sometime? Unless you’re busy and stuff.”

“I’d like that, Y/N”

~4 months later~

You and Piers were just hanging out as his house catching up.

“I bet you have people trying to date you all the time, Piers.”

“Yeah. It’s dumb because I don’t like any of them. I’ve only liked one person romantically.”

You look at him surprised.

“Really? Who? What’s their name? Are they from Galar?”

“Um… I actually like you romantically, Y/N.”

You blush and hold his hands gently.

“Since when?”

“Since forever I guess.”

“I honestly thought you didn’t feel the same way, Piers.”

You and Piers were about to kiss, but Marnie came in and interrupted.

“If you two are going to kiss please do so in his room, please and thank you.”

She states as she goes to her room. You and Piers laugh at the situation and finally kiss.

You know what I just realized about Legends? It could be the opportunity for Game Freak to kind of have their cake and eat it too. Or, in other words, the Legends subseries could potentially be the ideal "playground" for Game Freak.

We haven't seen anything resembling gameplay for Z-A yet, so obviously everything is speculation, but I get the feeling that the structure and gameplay will be quite different from Arceus. In fact, based on the teaser, it actually seems to me that most, if not all of the game will take place in Lumiose City, a very urban environment, contrasting Arceus' very nature-centric aesthetic. Plus, it's obviously set in another time period. The trailer looked very futuristic, but the architecture that was shown also makes me think that it might be set in the Pokémon version of the late 19th/early 20th century? Either way, it's probably gonna be very different from both a mainline game and Arceus.

And I think that's great! Game Freak can keep producing the more classic mainline games - new region, three new starters, gyms, league, evil team, legendaries, etc - but then just play it fast and loose with Legends. Take any random region, set it in any time period they want, have any kind of story and structure they want, bring back old mechanics, maybe use those mechanics in regions they weren't availaible originally (Z-Moves in Johto? Gigantamax in Unova? Why not?), just go nuts! Throw everything at the wall, and the things that stick might be taken into the mainline series… or not!

Oh, what if instead of Emmet and Elesa being sent to Hisui, it was Sneasler!Ingo and Akari to Unova. Emmet having to adjust to his brother being a hobo cat now with a teenage daughter. Though their pokemon are happy because Ingo is back and can speak to them.

Also, can sneasler!Ingo get broody? He found an abandoned nest of eggs so now they're his and he brings them back to the cave since Lady Sneasler's last litter left a while ago. This man needs babies to care for because he's so uses to taking care of Lady Sneasler's. Anyway, this happens while Emmet was out doing something and he comes back to his cat twin guarding a nest of eggs that Lady Sneasler seems uninterested in. This brings up the question, can Ingo lay eggs? And if that was a yes, then whomst did he fuck? Definitely not Lady Sneasler though Emmet does eye her as she is the typical Ingo fucking suspect

Akari can act as translator for them since she's gotten used to Ingo's vocalizations

See, Ingo would get broody. But he has Akari.

Which means that if Lady Sneasler doesn't have kits in the nest, Akari is getting yoinked and helicopter-parented until a new litter of kits is born. It keeps Ingo busy too, because Akari will never stop trying to sneak out of the nest to do more research tasks. She usually gets scruffed and carried back to the nest, but sometimes she manages to get out for a decent amount of time and Ingo has a meltdown when he can't find her.

In addition, while I understand that the eggs are a thing in pokemon, it will never stop feeling weird to me that every creature in the pokemon universe other than humans is egg-laying? Unless humans in pokemon also lay eggs???

It's been a HOT MINUTE since I've done ProhibitedWish stuff, but the brainworms spoke to me again, so here you go!

They're Gym Leaders who have to share a gym (Like Bea and Allister in Sword and Shield), so Scarab runs the Gym during the Summer while Prismo runs it during the Winter.

They were hella rivals in their Trainer Days, but now they share a wavelength no one else seems tuned to. They're Husbands, you're honor.

Scarab is just as No Nonsense as he always is, sometimes coming across as intimidating or severe to those who don't take the time to know him.

He's originally from Unova, and has a deep admiration for all bug types. He is constantly trying to prove their viability as partners, and serves as a mighty brick wall for trainers thinking they can just Bulldoze their way through with a single fire of flying type.

Scarab also has Chronic Pain in his legs, so he uses a cane to walk. Scizor is his service Pokemon, and has been since it was a Scyther and he was a young boy. He does contests in the off season, as well as nature photography.

Prismo is very laid back, always on the verge of falling asleep, and might come across almost like a slacker. He's very personable, easy to speak to, and quick to make acquaintances.

He's originally from Alola, but moved far away when he was a boy. His Gym Challenge is considered infuriating by many, as his primary goal is to put the opponents to sleep, and keep them that way for as long as possible.

His Musharna is very well fed as he has very strange dreams. It's what attracted her to him in the first place! Overall, he's very eager to cuddle up with his Pokemon (or husband) and take a nap whenever he's able. He runs a Yoga studio in the off season.

Ingo and Ingo and Emmet Hop The Multiverse

-Premise- On a day that would have otherwise been entirely unremarkable, Ingo and Emmet- Long standing Unova Subway Bosses -stumble across a very strange missing link. It would seem that, somewhere in the history books, there is a man named Ingo who looks just like him, yet they have no Sinnohan family lineage or any other sort of family ties that would lead them to believe this isn't some impossibly insane coincidence. Unable to let this strange thread go, the two of them decide to take investigation into their own hands.

With the assistance of some higher powers as curious and whimsical as they are, if not more, they travel back into Hisuian history and find... Ingo. A man just like him- A man who seems to have been Emmet's brother... But it doesn't seem quite right! Their benefactors can confirm that they don't have any temporal disturbances lined up for them, which can only mean... He is not Emmet's twin. Or rather, not this Emmet's twin.

Determined to return him exactly where he belongs and reunite this brother who fell so far from home, the three of them set off across the multiverse- Helping every other set of alternate twins they encounter along the way!

-Noteworthy Points- This AU is open for crossovers! The wacky adventures of Emmet, his brother Ingo, and his other brother who is Also Ingo. They've adopted him. It's essentially an open ended fix-it fic for me (or us!) to invent silly, emotional, or extremely unlikely scenarios for multiverse shenanigans :D

The two Ingos differentiate from each other with their clothing, and they also go by different names. Warden Ingo goes simply by Warden, and I haven't decided what Subway Boss Ingo goes by, but I think it's likely he often just gets called "Brother" because that is what Emmet defaults to calling him when differentiating between the two.

Speaking of their clothing! Their outfits are custom made! (Elesa hooked them up, they returned home to make plans and get to know Warden better!) This is primarily so they can distinguish each other from alternate selves, but also so that they don't accidentally lose each other in the shuffle. Warden's coat is still his original coat, just now outfitted/dyed to match the other two. His arm band is completely untouched, though. (Arm band symbolism, as you can see, is my fucking BRAND)

The logos on the twins' hats and on Warden's pin/tunic are a design I made :D

Lastly! They have MANY gadgets and doodads! Their benefactor tech'd them out for their adventures with lots of safety equipment and other items needed for cross-dimensional travel, and presumably they also watch their antics closely and with great amusement. I haven't decided exactly who is helping them, but so far we're leaving it ambiguously open to one or more legendary pokemon. (Dialga and Palkia are high up there but I have yet to decide.)

They are going to cause so many hijinks.

Isn’t Dawn/Akaris mom a coordinator or does take part in Pokemon Contests? Nimbasa has musicals but I can also see that they have the regular contests as well.

I can see that her influence there could also help connecting the dots and help the narrative.

While she isn’t taking part too much but maybe is called in as a judge she maybe has seen the Missing Posters (if you’re in a similar situation you’re more likely to notice these, she probably also notices that it’s the same guy who helped them years ago) and later on after the reunion with her daughter and once Ingo gets a bit of a needed clean up Johanna recognizes him and eventually connects the dots and the rest will come automatically.

Yes she is! In Let’s Get You Back to Her, it’s the reason why Johanna and Dawn/Akari are at Gear Station — Akari’s traveling with her mom to do one of her coordinator shows! I imagined the musicals were part of the coordinator career!

BUT OH MY GOSH THATS SUCH A GOOD CONNECTION. I’ve been debating if at this time, Johanna continued to do coordination shows or if she’s since stopped, but the idea of her still going to events like Nimbasa’s to be a judge is REALLY GOOD.

THATS A GREAT IDEA ANON. It keeps the whole thing fresh in her mind and gives her another fresh visualization of him too, compared to the one time she saw him literally a decade before in LGYBTH.

I feel like at first Johanna would be very hesitant to even leave Sinnoh though, or go too far, just in case something about her daughter comes up. Hmm, maybe eventually towards the year mark, she feels like she should get out of the house and try to do things again, and accepts the judge invitation after turning it down a few times.

BUT ANYWAYS I REALLY LIKE THIS IDEA ANON THIS IS REALLY GOOD!! Thank you for sharing this with me!!

Also below I go off on a tangent sort of related to this haha. But I talk about how important Johanna’s career as a coordinator was in influencing my Akari/Dawn’s career in Pokemon coordination, as well as battling, and why she is not one of Sinnoh’s Champions because of it.

I don’t think I’ve ever properly explained this, but in my works, the timeline is one where Dawn/Akari is not the Champion (that is Lucas), but she isn’t the professor’s assistant either — just a trainer, who spent a lot of time as a kid traveling around with her mom for her coordinator shows.

I have never really talked about Akari’s pokemon team before Hisui, I realize. Technically her starter is Lady, Johanna’s glameow (now a Purugly). And among three other sinnoh pokemon — a Lumineon, Bronzong, and Rotom — she has a Gorebyss (a clamperl when she caught it) and a Beartic (a cubchoo when she caught it).

A hoenn pokemon, and a unova pokemon — Pokemon caught from regions that she visited, because these regions have shows/contests/musicals that Johanna went to.

In her timeline before Hisui, Akari was not a champion because when she was old enough to begin her journey, she thought she wanted to do coordinating like her mom. A couple years later though, she realized she wanted to try out taking battling a little more seriously, and then Arceus took her to Hisui after she just started that.

This is why I don’t really write her with Champion-level knowledge or techniques in Hisui, even though she’s fifteen and technically should have had five years of experience by now. She messes up and makes mistakes, but she is strong and knows Pokemon well. She has the potential to be a Champion if given more time, but she just started very late.
