Fate/Grand Order
Tumblr media
Familiar on TV, TYPE-MOON's Fate RPG! You can enjoy a full-fledged RPG even on your smartphone. A story where you can enjoy an overwhelming volume of over 5 million characters! In addition to the main story, we have prepared a story for each character, and the content is enough to satisfy both Fate fans and those who are experiencing the world of Fate for the first time. 2015 AD. Chaldea, which observes the future of the Earth, has confirmed the fact that human history has collapsed since 2017. The "promised future" until 2115, which had certainly existed until yesterday, suddenly disappeared without warning. why. Why. who. how. A provincial city in Japan in the year 2004. "An unobservable area" that had never existed before appeared here. Chaldea hypothesized that this was the cause of human extinction, and decided to carry out the sixth experiment, which was still in the experimental stage. "It's time travel to the past." A forbidden ritual that transforms humans into spirits and sends them to the past, intervening in events to reveal or destroy singularities in space-time. "The name is Human Rights Protection Order, Grand Order." It is a general term for those who fight against fate and confront human history in order to protect humanity. An easy-to-use command order battle optimized for smartphones! The player becomes a master and manipulates the spirits to defeat enemies and solve mysteries. "Whether you fight with your favorite Heroic Spirit or a strong Heroic Spirit, the battle style is up to the player." ◆ Gorgeous voice actors participate one after another Shiki Aoki, Himika Akaneya, Kizuna Road 2021 Night 11 - 7/1/2021; SHO Victorious At GLEAT Event 7/1/2021; Jay White v. David Finlay NEVER Match Announced For Resurgence
Tumblr media
The tour resumed today, in a show you can see now on NJPWWorld (or Abema if you happen to be in Japan!). The featured matches were three special singles encounters between the participants of tomorrow’s main event title match.
- 7/1/2021, Tokyo Korakuen Hall (NJPWWorld)
Taiji Ishimori, El Phantasmo & Jado [Bullet Club] d. El Desperado, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & DOUKI [SZKG] (Ishimori > DOUKI, Bloody Cross, 10:22)
Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr. & Minoru Suzuki [SZKG] d. Tetsuya Naito, SANADA & BUSHI [Los Ingobernables] (Taichi > BUSHI, Seiteijujiryo, 12:24)
YOSHI-HASHI [CHAOS] d. Hiroyoshi Tenzan (Butterfly Lock, 14:30)
Satoshi Kojima d. Hirooki Goto [CHAOS] (Lariat, 15:11)
Tomohiro Ishii [CHAOS] d. Yuji Nagata (Vertical Drop Brainbuster, 22:20)
CHAOS win the special singles matches 2-1 over the Third Generation; why does it somehow figure Goto would be the one to fall? Dangerous Tekkers tried to provoke Naito & SANADA post-match.
Tumblr media
SHO participated today in the main event of GLEAT’s “GLEAT Ver.1″ show at Tokyo Dome City Hall. He took on the presumptive ace of GLEAT Takanori Ito in a LIDET UWF Rules match, that saw SHO win by submission (I don’t have the time handy). It was a different match from what we usually see from SHO, however both Sho Tanaka and Takanori Ito have a background in MMA, and they did their best to do the “worked shoot” style that UWF made famous. It’s kinda funny -- UWF (and UWFi after it) were created as a response to the way-too-worked style of NJPW to begin with. Now NJPW wrestlers are fighting in UWF-style matches. The wheels of time...
The good news is, GLEAT’s show is fully and legally available on YouTube, so have at it. Other matches include such names as Kaz Hayashi, CIMA, Shigehiro Irie, T-Hawk & El Lindaman. I’m going to try to watch the whole thing soon. GLEAT has a lot of good press and hype around it, so let’s see how it does in the real world too.
Tumblr media
Tickets for both NJPW Resurgence and the NJPW Strong taping Fighting Spirit Unleashed went on sale yesterday; apparently ringside seats at Resurgence are already sold out, with other sections soon to go.
Whatever the case, the first match of this show has been announced, as Jay White will face off against his generational rival David Finlay Jr. for the NEVER Openweight Championship. This is Jay’s first announced defense of the title that he won on 5/3/2021 at the first night of Wrestling Dontaku, and he has not been back in the ring since the second night, 5/4/2021, losing in a 6-man tag match. (There were reports both he and Finlay were 2 of the 9 that tested positive for COVID-19, however that was never confirmed to my knowledge, only hearsay from Fit Finlay, who is David’s father, but still not from the source. Only Kazuchika Okada and Taichi publicly confirmed their positive diagnoses.) I wouldn’t be surprised if this were the main event, or semi-main, depending on what Jon Moxley is doing on the card.
I also wouldn’t expect too many match announcements for Fighting Spirit Unleashed, due to it being a Strong taping. They tend to keep those cards pretty close to their chest.
The tour wraps up tomorrow, with a streamed show on NJPWWorld and Abema. The main event is a title match, however the opening matches feature both opponents in the upcoming IWGP World Heavyweight title match at Wrestle Grand Slam giving the Young Lions a bonus Trial Series match a piece. Those should be real fun.
- 7/2/2021, Tokyo Korakuen Hall (NJPWWorld)
Kota Ibushi v. Yota Tsuji
Yuya Uemura v. Shingo Takagi [Los Ingobernables]
El Desperado, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Minoru Suzuki [SZKG] v. Taiji Ishimori, El Phantasmo & Jado [Bullet Club]
Tetsuya Naito, SANADA & BUSHI [Los Ingobernables] v. Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr. & DOUKI [SZKG]

NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship: Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI [CHAOS] (c) v. Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima & Yuji Nagata
Tumblr media
Since the pandemic, there have not been a lot of NJPW wrestlers taking outside bookings, the AEW and Impact excursions notwithstanding. OK, maybe I defeated my point. Anyway.
GLEAT is a relatively new promotion, owned by LIDET, the previous owners of Pro Wrestling NOAH, put together by Kiyoshi Tamura, much of it from the ashes of the now-defunct Wrestle-1 promotion that was founded by Keiji Muto. Their shtick is they have their own style of pro wrestling, but are also resurrecting the “UWF Rules” worked shoot-style wrestling matches that was popular for a time in the 80s and 90s.
Their first major show comes on 7/1/2021 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall, and the main event will feature NJPW’s SHO, wrestling in a UWF Rules match against Takanori Ito. Ito is a product of Wrestle-1, having won tag and singles belts there (but never the main title), but also is a champion full-contact karate practitioner. SHO of course has some background in jiu-jitsu and MMA himself, so this is an inspired pick.
No word on if this will be a continuing relationship between NJPW and GLEAT; when LIDET bought NOAH, they famously kicked out any Bushiroad assistance, financial or talent, but if we are honest, the Jado/Suzuki-gun era of NOAH nearly ran the company into the ground. We’ll keep an eye on this one for now.
No idea how the show will be made available. Probably through “sources.”
