A Question

Taiyuzu Kid: Dad, Mom, why don’t other kids have a Senku?

Taiju: Well sweetie, there’s lots of moms and dads in the world, but there’s only one Senku.

Kid: What? But then what do they do if they don’t have a Senku?

Yuzuriha: Well some probably have other family members, some have only their mom and dad, and some live with only their mom or only their dad. Every family is different, you know.

Taiju: And ours just happens to have the one and only Senku in the world!

Kid: Oh, okay.

With closeups, my opinions have shifted a little:

the taiyuzu card is giving lovers energy esp given the fact that they're a ship, and the red coloring + foliage in the background

more convinced than ever that suika is the star

I see now that in Hyouga's card, what I had thought was a flag was his cloak flipped up and with his spear next to it. Throws the death thing into question

'Moz and Kirisame' card is still confusing, and the most interesting aspect of it is the clouds around them, and Kirisame is also carrying a weird tiny mallet that I've never seen before, and can only imagine means anything.

so like, the cards of the dcst 4 ed were likely tarot, despite not having much clear iconography to draw off. But I was able to reference the poses on common tarot cards and got:

Senku - The Magician

Ryuusui - well, he's fucking SITTING WITH THINGS ON EITHER SIDE SO IT COULD BE FIVE DIFFERENT ONES. but the closest are The Emperor and The Chariot

Chrome with the bag tied to the stick is giving The Fool

Ukyo was easy. Scales behind him. Justice.

Kohaku, with the lion companion - Strength

Tsukasa with the wreath - The World

The others we only see in the wideshot where things are a bit unclear but

Hyouga is def meant to be death with the flag and pose

Gen might be The Moon since his card is the only one with a good shot of the moon

Suika is likely The Star, given the pool of water and the patterns in the sky.

Taiju and Yuzuriha are in one card, so I wanna say they're The Lovers but could be anything

Mozu and Kirisame share a card. There's like white plumes of smoke around them if that means anything.

Minami and Nikki share a card, too. There's an iridescent glowing orb behind them.

Kinro and Ginro also have a card together, but the orb behind them is BLACK. Wow. Narrows things down a lot, doesn't it.

Idk what any of this means. Feels like subtlety is not their thing in assigning these. I'm not big on tarot, so if anyone wants to overthink this, pls lend ur insight.

I think Death for Hyouga is funny bc he's got the most on-screen kills than anyone, but even I know that Death symbolizes change and new beginnings, and who has changed more drastically uptill now than Hyouga??

Just watched the new episode, and considering that they actually change the cards shown in close view (last week we had Tsukasa and Kohaku, now Suika and Taiyuzu), I'll probably wait until we have all of them 😅

Who tf wrote this on the damn wiki. Senku is The Magician. Senku has all the usual iconography for The Magician, and the meaning of the card is almost opposite to Gen but very suiting for Senku. Wtf. Guys.

I'm definitely making a thorough essay on the ending Tarot tomorrow.

in the part of the ed that focused on kohaku and tsukasa's cards last week, this week they showed off suika and taiyuzu's cards👀👀

so we're probably gonna get close ups of all the cards as the episodes go by, so exciting!! i cant wait to see them all :3
