Hi anon, thank you so much for the ask! In response to this post! For this ask I will be responding with my Wild Kratts OC Paige Smith-King, Violet’s first cousin!

Paige is a character I created for my Wild Violet AU as a source of comic relief and as a character who provides integral emotional support to Violet. Aside from Zach, Paige is Violet’s closest friend and confidant. It is Paige who helps Violet to recognize her feelings for Zach and encourages her to follow her heart and pursue the things she loves, which initially is a career in music and (eventually) is a relationship with Zach.

Paige therefore is a very special character to me because she embodies the friendships I longed for in my youth/early adulthood. As such, I modeled her character/personality/appearance after two individuals who similarly mean a lot to me: Lottie from Princess and the Frog and musician/violinist Lindsey Stirling.

Like Lottie, Paige is a passionate, flirty, sassy, sweet, spoiled southern belle who’s not afraid to speak her mind, but she has a huge heart and will do anything for those she loves the most (like Violet, her mother Amy, her husband Todd, and son Nathaniel).

Paige’s looks are also modeled after Lottie. She has Lottie’s face shape, hair style and color, and body type.

Paige’s talents are based upon those of Lindsey Stirling. Paige is a skilled dancer and violinist who also has a beautiful singing voice, although she usually leaves the singing to Violet or her husband Todd. It was through dedicating herself to marriage and music that Paige was able to come out of a very dark place in her life.

Her husband Todd, formerly her best friend and also Koki’s cousin 😃, reminded her of the advice she’d given Violet: to follow her heart and do the things she loved. So, she did just that: she married him and pursued a career as a musician (she’s a YouTube musician but still, she has a great following and enjoys it so much 😊).

GMMTV has a new QL trope and I am not a happy camper

With the last few series I've watched or partly watched on GMMTV, it would seem there is a new trope. I'm not certain it's a new trope, but I searched @absolutebl for trope posts for at least half an hour and didn't find it, so I don't think I'm totally off about this.

I'm calling it emotional punching bag. Instead of seme/uke representing chaser/chased, it represents emotional aggressor/victim.

The general pattern is this:

Character A gets angry at character B over a real or imagined slight.

A claims to be the victim.

A is unaware (or pretends to be) of any contribution A made to this issue.

B apologizes, whether or not B contributed to the problem.

A never apologizes and never acknowledges their part in the problem.

The problem gets papered over (if they get back together) or never gets resolved (if they don't).

I think it started with Only Friends. Boston (B) gets set up by Atom (A) and is made to be the villian. The truth is revealed. Boston apologizes for his other behavior in the series but nobody apologizes to Boston for him having been set up. Never gets resolved.

Then there's Last Twilight. Mork (B) tries to engage in self-care and Day (A) makes it all about Day and breaks up with Mork. The problem gets papered over when, plot hole, Day wanders through a hotel lobby without the cane he got so he could be more independent and which we never see again, and Mork steps in and helps him, and then they get together and Day gets his eyesight back at the same time with no real narrative resolution. Mork gets back together with Day.

And now we have 23.5. Sun (A) outs Ongsa (B) to Ongsa's parents. Ongsa objects. Sun storms off. Ongsa seeks out Sun and apologizes. Sun breaks up with Ongsa. Ongsa again seeks out Sun and apologizes.

At this point (partway through episode 11, segment 2) I paused the series. I have not intention of going back unless I get word from you Tumblerites that Sun acknowledges her role in all the trouble and apologizes to Ongsa. If they get back together without Sun doing the emotional and reparation work I want no part of it.

And I'm worried. Do I need to wait and binge the rest of Wandee Goodday, which I, as of two episodes, absolutely adore? And this is a boxing series. Is Wandee going to become a literal punching bag?

Do I need to never watch another GMMTV QL series week by week again? Do I have to wait for an all-clear and then binge?

GMMTV, please get your ending act together, I beg of you.

Taiga is Romeo's boss. While Romeo demands every other Sinostra student refer to him as "Fico", Taiga doesn't need to. Romeo wouldn't admit it where most anyone could hear, but he rather likes being called 'Lulu'.

Taiga is Romeo's boss. That means Taiga can call Romeo whatever he wants.

When one day Taiga appeared as Romeo gave some instruction to a few new hires and his response to being yelled at for his sudden interruption was simply "calm down, baby girl, you're gonna get greyer hairs if you keep yelling like that" Romeo regretted this lack of restriction.

(And he regretted his inelegant response, as the blush on his face could just barely be mistaken for anger as opposed to embarrassment.)

Intro Post To A Wild Kratts OC / OC Ship!

Todd Nathaniel King and Paige Summer Smith-King

Todd is Koki’s first cousin! Paige is my OC / s/i Violet’s first cousin and my OC Amy’s daughter!

Paige, Todd, Violet, and their extended families were life long friends prior to Todd and Paige’s marriage. Todd had a crush on Paige for most of his life, but she always rejected his advances because for many years she only viewed him as a friend, and because of the trauma she went through after her father abandoned her: she didn’t want a serious relationship or someone who really loved her because she felt like they would just abandon her too.

This led Paige down a very dark path where she flirted, dated, and hooked up with anyone she fell for (fun fact: she is Pansexual), and where she partied and experimented with drugs and alcohol. Todd helped her to realize the danger of the path she was on and professed his undying love for her, which led to them getting together, dating, getting engaged, and marrying shortly thereafter.

They are parents to one son, Nathaniel Alden King, born shortly after their marriage. I feel like they have twin daughters or fraternal twins (a boy and a girl) at some point, maybe around the time Zach and Violet have Vera or their twin boys, Victor and Vallen.
