my steps to fixing the tag division in aew
1. just because a team is part of a trio doesn't mean they should only be in that trio (death triangle fell victim to this)
2. give mcmg all your money
3. mxm collection should get at least 2 segments and a match every week
4. mox and claudio team again, why did you have them beat ftr otherwise
5. give mark davis as many steroids as possible
6. use dark order ever
7. use 2point0 ever
to be clear i don't think aew's tag woes are entirely due to misbooking, having best friends, aussie open, workhorsemen, and edge & christian all being derailed to injury is a horrible run of luck. but there's a lot they could've done to keep the division hotter and its fallen by the wayside as a lower priority to the point a wembley match that would've been hot as hell a year or two ago is second only to jericho in who gives a shit-ness. the tag title tournament was supposed to rejuvenate the division and it didn't work. i hate my fed fan friend being right when she says their tag division is better so please fix this. also please have more okada singles matches thank you.

Anyway. Fantasy booking. a universe where sting and darby have the belts and then vacate when sting retires undefeated. The bucks are petty they lost and so when the inevitable tag tournament to declare a new champ happens they abuse their power to make sure most of the tags are guys who have
1. purposefully broken up (jungle express return)
2. One is (at this point shoot) hurt (aussie open)
3. The most midcard guys (silver and reynolds, 2point0)
4. Guys who absolutely fucking hate each others guts (strickpage)
And all the like. Actual active tag teams (private party, hardys, ftr, buddy and malakai) are pissed as hell and ALSO insist on being in the tournament. But then strickpage makes it to the finals out of spite because hangmans mad the bucks made him spend fucking quality bonding time with swerve. In the finals the bucks are like and now our secret plan where u get revenge on him and cost him the belt because were best friends? And hes like no actually swerve and i have come to an agreement im going to punch you so hard you lose the extra syllables on your names love you besties.

tuned into snowboi's stream just in time for an iws tag team battle royale that starts with commentary disclaiming that one of the people currently in the ring later murdered a 16-year old girl, his father took his own life after ("so I guess he really killed 2 people" annoying mid-00s indie wrestling commentator says, completely deadpan), and his mother went to jail for aiding him in hiding the body but they're including the match on this DVD bc it's "historic" (after all, commentary justifies, WWE has benoit), then smoothly (?) transitioning into doing straight commentary on the match then fucking 2point0 make their iws debut then after an onslaught of the most 00s indie bullshit guys enter the ring SID VICIOUS AND PCO SHOW UP????? as a tag team called the new shit?? and fucking sid vicious cuts the most unintelligible promo in history and changes the match to a tag match between himself & pco vs murderer and his tag team partner. at a random iws show in like 2004. 00s indie wrestling unparalleled
#like hello?? i just need to document this moment to confirm it's real & happened#where will this go

HI OMG can i ask u what 3.0 was?? im JUST learning about matt/shane and scott/ange's past through YOU and i have never heard about 3.0 please ENLIGHTEN ME if u have the answers - moxie from @/malewifemoxley
hi moxie!! very simple answer to your question !! it makes it so easy for me <3
so 3.0 was the name of their tag team in the late 2000s-2010s !! i believe they started as 2.0 and then became 3.0 later on? i need to figure out the timeline of name changes but they were predominately 3.0 !!
im not sure why they went from 2.0 to 2point0 ... easier to google?? lolol
in chikara, there was a points system where if you had 3 points (3 consecutive wins) you could challenge whomever had the title(s). i had a theory that their name corresponded with how many points they had at the time but.. it doesnt????? so i dont know why they would change from 2 to 3 ?? xD
their indie names were 'big magic' shane matthews and scott 'jagged' parker <3 they were soo silly

I should do a gifset or something with who's Uno's wrestling soulmates. Obviously his tag team soulmate is Stu as well as Johnny and Alex and to me, his wrestling rival soulmates are Young Bucks, 2point0 and Steenerico.

Results AEW Rampage (2/2/2024).

- During an interview with Renee Paquette, Sammy Guevara challenged Powerhouse Hobbs to a match.
- Jay Lethal hosted a workout routine with Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh, Sonjay Dutt & Karen Jarrett. Everyone refused to work out before Jeff Jarrett said that the problem was that Lethal was too nice and he needed to be more ruthless.
* AEW World Tag Team Titles - Eliminator Match: Big Bill & Ricky Starks (c) defeat Dark Order (John Silver & Alex Reynolds) (w/ Evil Uno).
- Powerhouse Hobbs & Don Callis were interviewed by Renee Paquette, where Callis said that he was sick and tired of hearing of Guevara's family and that Hobbs was hunting Guevara. Hobbs said that he also has a family that depends on their daddy and told him he better hope he did not see him first.
* Willow Nightingale (w/ Kris Statlander & Stokely Hathaway) defeats Queen Aminata.
- CHAOS (Trent Beretta, Chuck Taylor, Rocky Romero & Orange Cassidy) were interviewed backstage before they were interrupted by The Undisputed Kingdom. CHAOS challenged the Kingdom to a match for next week, which they accepted.

* Mistico, Volador Jr, Mascara Dorada & Hechicero defeat Matt Sydal, Christopher Daniels & 2point0 (Matt Menard & Angelo Parker).

My Highlights of ROH Death Before Dishonor 2023
In spite of injuries and other companies borrowing talent, Honor is still real
Death Before Dishonor's card has been subject to a lot of change, in part to injuries and Eddie being in the G1, but there's still the potential of a lot of good matches, as well as a couple of storylines established by ROH tapings. So let's see if the show could exceed expectations
Positive stuff only though
Spoilers for the PPV
Zero Hour
Woods' springboard suplex was pretty cool
I never heard that Nese was in a car crash saving a dog, props to him then and glad he's healthy
Workhorsemen got a good pop-up powerbomb combo
Action landing on Drake's back and backflipping off of it to his feet is still mighty impressive
A good match against the Workhorsemen will help soften the blow of losing to Bullet Club Gold on Collision
Clever little trick with Leyla stepping on Trish's foot
Gotta give props to those kids in the crowd they are making the noise
It was a great idea to finish the Zero Hour with AR Fox having a hard hitting win over Shane Taylor, got the crowd pumped for the main card
And really this should be what a Pre-Show should do, each match led into further implications either for ROH feuds, building to title matches or to Collision
Main Card
Gravity with the spacewalk entrance XD and the Buzz Lightyear colours
Commentary did sell the conclusion well, because Gravity won because he was going for substance over style
Plus 'I'm sure Gravity has not forgotten PAC' is a great comment
Dalton Castle has IT, we need him on TV more, put him against Christian, MJF or Bullet Club Gold, see who is more manic between him and Juice
I do like how we're continuing this storyline of Joe bullying Stoke to his advantage
Mike sporting the DEM BOYS shirt
Even though it was put together quickly, all four of these teams should realistically be tag champions, but you can say that a lot about TK-brand tag teams, I still hold hope for Butcher & The Blade, Iron Savages, Dark Order, The Infantry, Top Flight, 2point0 and Santana & Ortiz
Chuck passing Maria's hug to hug Trent is a most Best Friends thing to do
Mark Davis' deadlift piledriver is a work of art
Fénix exuding catlike energy of 'blame the person nearest to you'
Surprised but not upset to see Aussie Open win either, I expected them to win the ladder match, maybe we'll use it to cross paths with FTR too
Stu with white paint for his allegiance is a good small detail
'I still don't know your name!' crowds can be funny sometimes
Abnormally Large William watching Brian Cage? They did have magic together as a team, but Swerve eliminated him at Royal Rampage...intrigue glands increased
I should try to watch more NJPW, because Master Wato's growth has impressed me. And that does feel unbelievable to say given that this is a bowl cut boy in blue working under a non-Gunn Ass man XD
Traded 619s from Cage and Taguchi
I said it on Forbidden Door I'll say it again; how Garcia got that stupid dance over needs to be studied
Also it needs to be studied on how it works as an assertion of dominance
'ARMBARR!' again, crowds can be funny sometimes
I snickered through the whole act of Garcia dancing around the 100% done Shibata
Almost spat my drink when he danced into a sitdown, fucking brilliant
Btw there has been a lot of good wrestling happening do not get it twisted, I've talked often about how I struggle to get into Pure rules matches but all of Shibata's matches have been winners
Garcia had one last dance in him but he proved himself in defeat, soon enough he has to accept he's a wrestler
Commentary has been stellar too throughout I just gotta drop it in there
Reynolds and Silver wearing their old Dark Order masks
Table spot in like the first couple of minutes!?
Dutch's tongue thing, he must be popular with his wife
Alongside Davis' piledriver, Dutch's Bossman Slam is a work of art, you can hang it either end of Dustin Rhodes' powerslam
LEGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODT
Stu did well to cover for Vincent's missed swanton
A thumbtack shin pad!?
You know you're doing Extreme right when the crowd chant E-C-Dub
Dark Order got their killer edge back in this match, we could've had this intensity for Anarchy in the Arena or Blood and Guts, but honestly, now I want the Righteous to join the Dark Order. It sounds odd I know but, Stu left because they weren't vicious enough, now they proved him wrong, they can still be The Righteous but Dark Order can absorb them into their group, regain the numbers they lost and that way we get now 2 trios or 3 tag teams who can mix it up for both companies, we don't have to split Stu and Uno up, and then all there is left is what the Dark Order have needed for a while: the main event leader. Hangman was that guy in Brodie's stead, but now they need another who can be charismatic but also vicious; Miro, Athena, Christian, maybe even Lance Archer or Powerhouse Hobbs with enough build
Seeing PAC and Claudio made me happy, albeit physically conscious because these guys are chiseled, because it meant one thing: Willow/Athena main event!
The energy for the match was apt for the short build, it is heated like a fresh wound
Swing on the stage
Gravity did indeed not forget as he watched PAC on the tv screen
Also appreciate that it's not the WWE angle of watching tv monitors
Gorilla press into a table!
Flipping flapjack was cool too, especially to roll into a Gotch Neutralizer
Reminder these two put on a banger 2 days after Blood & Guts
Death Triangle vs BCC?
Death Triangle vs BCC vs Best Friends??
Riccaboni's Willow rap just works so well
Athena came out with proper wings too
There have been some solid nearfalls in this bout
It was a good finish as well, it took 2 O-Faces and a Crossface but Willow never submitted, never relented. It's a shame she didn't win because the crowd were ready for it, but Athena is the Ace of Khan's ROH, they earned that main event spot
Conclusion
If you were considering skipping this show because of the minimal build, reconsider.
TK delivered a great night of pro wrestling variety regardless; it was entertaining, brutal, funny and dramatic, even the weakest match on the card was still fun. We set up more stuff for the future too and it is definitely worth the price of admission.
Match of the Night: Difficult pick but I'm giving it to Willow vs Athena Best Attire: Dalton Castle is often hard to beat when he's on the card but dammit Gravity did it with Buzz Lightyear gear Best Performance: Athena and Willow again for the tie, Evil Uno and Daniel Garcia are close seconds though they brought it, commentary probably up there too they were great this evening Spot of the Night: I'm not even joking it's Daniel Garcia's aggressive dancing, Dark Order/Righteous had some extreme and creative spots for sure but Garcia's dancing is just an enigma that cannot be ignored.

OC retained against Lethal, Jarrett attacked him afterwards so next week it’s OC vs JJ for the International Title (All Atlantic belt has a new name)
JAS beat AR Fox & Top Flight, called out HoB for a trios title shot. Elite interrupted and demanded a shot, HoB said let’s have a three way next week.
2point0 tried to recruit Billy & The Acclaimed to JAS but got laughed at
BCC beat Silver & Reynolds, continued beating them up after the match, Hangman and Uno tried to make the save but BCC beat them all up. Probably heels now.
MJF will have a re-Bar Mitzvah next week.
Ruby explained she teamed with Saraya and Toni because the crowd didn’t respect her over Statlander and Britt, then she beat Skye Blue. Willow tried to make the save and gave Ruby 🥺 eyes about it but got beaten down and spray painted.
Jade challenged any Canadian woman to an open challenge next week.
FTR told the Gunns they’re coming for the tag titles.
Bryan had a promo video saying basically he tapped out so he wouldn’t be too hurt to do stuff with his kids, said he’s “going home”
Hobbs beat Wardlow in a street fight (Wardlow got robbed irl and didn’t have his wrestling gear) after QT Marshall ran in and hit him with a chair.
I think that’s it.
Can someone tell me what happened during Dynamite? Please.

wait i really need ftrdlow to be more of a one off situation than an eventual ~feud with the elite sorry to wardlow but you are not good enough to keep pace with ftr. ftrdlow, much like mcmg+jay lethal is very much a tagteam + someguy situation and i dont need to be seeing it
#you CAN do tagteam+someguy but only if the someguy is the danny garcia to the 2point0 dads situation and its like#ur trying to establish someone in a tag team AS a third within that tag team#but like. you can do that with absolutely whomever you so choose but you cant do that with ftr. sorry. its not happening#id rather have ftrhausen because at least danhausen is established outside of ftr and isnt like#relying on ftr's specific skillset to carry him through the match#again sorry to wardlow but im not having the squash guy on my 60min match tag team#also because i said it before and i just dont want ftr to be part of anything that isnt first and foremost ftr#its like. cmftr again is also perfectly fine (cmftr vs mjf & the ass boys. <- disaster of all time but i'd enjoy it probably) but bc#punk is. punk . if anything it's ftr playing second fiddle to punk's established ability#as opposed to ftr playing second fiddle to someone relying on them to carry them. argh. sorry#i just . didnt consider that they might be actually trying to build ftr as a trios team

Also prev video top flight stated their goal this yr is to win trios which...tracks, but also makes me feel like part of the reason the tag tournament came down to the bucks v ftr 4 (aside from it advancing team evp vs team "normal guys that just want to have a nontoxic working environment") is that every other major tag team either has an injury (best friends, lucha bros, workhorsemen), wants to go into trios (private partys ALSO doing a "want to get into trios" storyline, gunns adding jay to their team, fuck even the righteous if we get peripheral, and even if fenix had come back in time hed probably be death triangle not lucha bros since Pac also just returned), or seemingly want to go singles (trent, both halves of 2point0). Like damn tag divisions got a lot going on rn

Double or Nothing preview
Adam Page vs. CM Punk - Page is making his 7th defense of the AEW men's world title. This is the first time Punk has been in a title bout since February 2013. The winner will probably be the champion going into the Forbidden Door show on June 26, in Punk's hometown of Chicago.
Both men are promising a hell of a fight. Punk keeps insisting that Page will shake his hand after the match, regardless of the result; Page clearly hates the idea. Page has made it clear he doesn't like Punk and feels he must defend AEW from what Punk represents, whatever that means. Punk is leaning into the idea that he laid the foundations for AEW and wants to mentor the new generation, and challenging Page "isn't personal." So either he's being sincere and Page is being paranoid, or he's turning (back) into a passive-aggressive egomaniac and Page saw it coming. It's very difficult to believe both wrestlers will still be good guys after this match.
I've been looking forward to this match. Back in the winter I realized the winner of the MJF vs. Punk feud would probably be in the title hunt, and I thought Punk made more sense at the moment. Some fans have been tough on Page's title reign (Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley are tough acts to follow), so he needs to either drop the title to a bigger star, or beat a bigger star to prove he belongs at this level. My preference is for AEW to really put over Page and cement him as their guy. But giving Punk the world title makes sense, and if you're ever going to do that, best to do it soon.
I feel like challenger is heavily favored to win. It's clearly a no-brainer for Chicago Made Punk to win his first AEW title shot, and bring the world title back to Chicago to headline Forbidden Door and All Out. Tony Khan is from Illinois, and AEW has consistently given Chicago special treatment, which is pretty great for me ngl. Even so, I have a soft spot for Page, and it'd be so amazing to see him turn back Punk's inevitability. So I'm pulling for him, but I also kinda want to see Punk win...can I just bet that all the wrestlers have a good time?
Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson & Eddie Kingston & Santana & Ortiz vs. Chris Jericho & Jake Hager & Daniel Garcia & Matt Menard & Angelo Parker - This is billed as "anarchy in the arena," whatever that means. I'm pretty sure they'll just brawl all over the building until somebody gets pinned somewhere.
Improbably, this storyline goes all the way back to Jericho helping Kingston against Garcia and 2point0 (Menard & Parker) on November 26. It quickly became clear Jericho and Kingston didn't like one another, even as each of them ended up feuding with the heel trio. Jericho's teammates in the Inner Circle, Ortiz and Santana, helped out Jericho and Kingston in various tag matches. This led to Jericho questioning Ortiz and Santana's loyalties, culminating in the breakup of the Inner Circle on March 9.
Turning heel, Jericho kept Hager and recruited the Garcia/2point0 trio, forming the Jericho Appreciation Society. Despite the 5-on-3 disadvantage, Kingston, Ortiz, and Santana continued to feud with the JAS. Things got particularly ugly on April 27 when Jericho used the old flash paper gimmick to "burn" Kingston's face. On May 11, the babyfaces got reinforcements from the Blackpool Combat Club--Moxley, Danielson, and Wheeler YUTA--making it 6-on-5. Yuta is in Japan right now, though, so it's finally an even 5-on-5 fight.
The JAS is doing a WWE spoof where they're "sports entertainers" which makes them better than "pro wrestlers." The BCC is dedicated to smash-mouth pro wrestling, and the Kingston/Ortiz/Santana trio are all about fighting their way out of the streets. So I expect the JAS will try to do all the silly tropes we always see in wild brawls (in both WWE and AEW), but the babyfaces will cut them off with old-school, no-frills violence.
I'm hoping Moxley's team will win and end this feud once and for all. But I have a sneaking feeling the JAS will steal a win, to keep things going until AEW can get everybody into a WarGames/Blood & Guts match.
Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy vs. Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson - AEW hasn't really put much of a story into this, probably because the story practically writes itself. The Young Bucks (Nick and Matt) have always drawn comparisons to the Hardy Boyz, and when the Bucks really took off in the late 2010s it was natural to question which team was the greatest of all time. The two teams clashed on indy shows in 2014, and then briefly in ROH in 2017 before the Hardys went to WWE. In each of those series, the Hardys won the first two encounters, but the Bucks got the last laugh.
I suspect the winning team will be set up on a run for the AEW tag title, while the losing team will be put on the back burner. If so, that favors the Hardys. The Bucks don't really need a title chase right now, as they're probably headed for in-fighting with the Bullet Club and reDRagon later this year.
Thunder Rosa vs. Serena Deeb - Rosa is making her 2nd defense of the AEW women's world championship. Deeb has been built up as a highly skilled scientific wrestler that has all the tools to beat anyone. I like both of these wrestlers, but the feud hasn't been a solid hit--they both do their best talking in the ring, but the story has largely been told with promos. The money here isn't the talk, it's in seeing Deeb try to dismantle Rosa, and Rosa hauling off and punching Deeb in the face. Deeb could be a champion almost anywhere, but for now her role is clearly to give Rosa a win.
MJF vs. Wardlow - Wardlow's gimmick is that he's under contract to MJF as an enforcer, so he can only appear on AEW shows at MJF's pleasure. This became a problem when Wardlow turned on MJF on March 6. Since then Wardlow has wanted out of the contract so he can just sign directly with AEW. If Wardlow wins, he gets his release, but if MJF wins Wardlow will basically be barred from AEW and stuck sitting at home.
After MJF lost to CM Punk, I really expected he'd win the Wardlow feud to regain his momentum. But the way this story has been told, they've painted themselves into a corner where Wardlow has to win or he'll look like a GEEK~! I guess they could try to do some clever swerve where MJF wins, but I wouldn't count on it. Which may be rough for MJF, but I want Wardlow to win so I suppose that's not my problem.
Samoa Joe vs. Adam Cole - This is the men's final in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament. Hart died tragically during a WWF show in 1999, and this tournament is the first major pro wrestling tribute that's been authorized by his next of kin. Joe is the ROH television champion, but the title is not at stake.
Joe defeated Max Caster, Johnny Elite, and Kyle O'Reilly to reach the finals. Cole beat Tomohiro Ishii, Dax Harwood, and Jeff Hardy. AEW hasn't said the tournament winner will automatically get a title match, but winning four singles matches in a row is obviously going to put them in the title conversation. Since Cole's already challenged for the world title earlier this year, I tend to think Joe's the one who should be next in line. Plus you'd really want a babyface to come out on top in this thing.
Britt Baker vs. Ruby Soho - This is the women's final in the Owen Hart Foundation tournament. Baker eliminated Danielle Kamela, Maki Itoh, and Toni Storm to get here. Soho bested Robyn Renegade, Riho, and Kris Statlander.
I was struck by the negative reaction Ruby got in her go-home promo--the fans were clearly unhappy that she eliminated Statlander. That could be trouble in this match, where she'll be trying to play the babyface against a heel that's more popular than most of the babyfaces. On the other hand, I've seen frustration that Baker should have put over Storm in the semifinals, and there was frustration a few months ago that Baker beat Soho shortly after her debut. So maybe the fans will get behind Ruby finally avenging that loss. Unless Baker just wins again. I kinda think Britt's just going to win again.
Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus vs. Ricky Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland - This is a three-way for the AEW tag team title, currently held by Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus. The first wrestler to score a fall over any opponent will win the match and the title for his team.
Like most three-way matches, this is mainly about a feud between two of the three parties--in this case, Starks/Hobbs and Lee/Strickland. Boy/Saurus...I mean, uh...Jungle/Lucha is just here so it can be a title bout, and to advance the building tension between Jungle Boy and the team's mentor, Christian Cage. I'm fairly certain we'll see a title change, causing Cage to snap and turn on Jungle Boy. Thing is, I'm not sure which of the challenging teams they'll move the belts to. I'd go with Starks and Hobbs, but if Lee and Strickland win it wouldn't break my heart.
Jade Cargill vs. Anna Jay - This is for Cargill's AEW TBS championship. Anna is cool and all but let's be real--Jade is going to squash her in about two minutes.
PAC & Penta Oscuro & Rey Fenix vs. Malakai Black & Brody King & Buddy Matthews - Pac and Black have been feuding since November, but I think this is the very first time all three members of Pac's Death Triangle have been in a match against all three members of the House of Black. Every time these guys fight the action is great but I sort of don't give a crap who wins. I guess the House of Black will win, but I'm not sure it matters.
Darby Allin vs. Kyle O'Reilly - This is sort of an extension of the Hardys/Young Bucks feud, as Darby and Sting have been backing up the Hardys while the O'Reilly and Bobby Fish have backed up the Bucks. I suspect this was going to be Allin & Sting vs. reDRagon until AEW announced Sting had an injury of some sort and wouldn't be coming to Vegas. Bobby Fish almost certainly will be in town, though, so Darby will need eyes in the back of his head. I'd book O'Reilly to win to build to a tag match later.
Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page & Paige VanZant vs. Frankie Kazarian & Sammy Guevara & Tay Conti - There's a storyline here but it sucks ass and it's a waste of my time. Everybody in this match deserves better. I don't even know anything about VanZant and I just assume she deserves better.
HOOK & Danhausen vs. Tony Nese & Mark Sterling - This is scheduled for the pre-show. HOOK is the son of Taz, who turned into a meme when he was always hanging out in the background of Team Taz segments eating chips. Then he has his first TV match and the meme got hotter. Then Danhausen, who was already a weird wrestling meme, came to AEW and demanded a fight with HOOK. Then Nese and his manager Sterling got sick of both guys, paving the way for HOOKhausen, to the delight of wrestling fans everywhere. Look, I'm just telling you what happened, I don't understand it either. Anyway, HOOKhausen better win or I will be mad.
