So, if u couldn't tell already, these three characters are RSA students.

Azmi is an adventurous prince who hopes for freedom from his royal status to live a normal life,

Dom is a shy boy with dreams to be a performer, yet struggles with self-image,

And Reverie (Rev for short) is a positive fae guy who could rival Malleus and who is the son of RSA's headmage.

I honestly haven't come up with much for these characters other than those short spurts of info abt them, but I might flesh out them later (especially Rev bc I love his design the most- even tho I used other ppls designs as references I swear I tried to make it my own 😭 hopefully I did good)

MLYID Update

Decided to post this today bc well why not, it's porbably going to become the posting day lol. For anyone unaware: "Maybe Loving You is Dangerous" (aka MLYID which is the shortened name until I think of a better one) is a Wanderrose one shot I wrote and posted like a solid week ago. If you haven't read it yet and like the ship, I would highly appreciate it.

I'm officially going to continue the story (yippie!) and I know how I want to format it now!

☆ I am going to be posting it as a chapter based story on AO3 but the chapters are going to be more like seperate stories that follow a similair main goal/plot (The boys being gay for eachother) and a funky little subplot to keep things intresting. This means that the chapters won't always line up with each other- but them sneaking off during parties to be gay seems way more fun to write than just a day by day type of thing. ☆ ☆ Every chapter will have it's own title based on a song lyric from the song that gave me the inspiration for that chapter :) You don't have to lisent to the songs during reading but I will link them to the chapter updates ☆ ☆ I'm going to try my best to post a new chapter every saturday but I have no idea how life will treat me during the postings so you might get some chapters earlier and some later. Who really knows. I can almost certainly say that Chapter 2 is coming out next saturday! Also the chapters might be looonnngggg so writing that takes a lot of time. I don't have a set amount of chapters yet though, that'll come later (I do already have the end figured out somehow tho) ☆ ☆ A lot more coaches will be included, including an OC, so keep an eye out you might see one of your favourites pass by (maybe I'll include them if you ask nicely) ☆ ☆ The ao3 tags will be edited if nessecairy per new chapter that comes it because sometimes shit just happens, so keep an eye on those aswell! ☆

I really do hope that you are even a slither as excited to read this story unfold as I am to write it. I am so immensely for all the positive reactions it has gotten so far. I am so happy you guys enjoyed chapter one and I hope the rest live up to its standarts.

So.

Watched Groundhog Day. And suddenly the neurologist has a name and a family and I have a fucking timeloop fic idea. Lots of info under the cut, tag for these fucks is Ad Nauseum.

Neurologist's name is Daniel Rosenbaum, goes by Dan or Danny. Wife was JoAnn, kids are Ira and Antonia, or Toni.

I haven't quite figured out the details yet, but JoAnn passed away very shortly after the events of the film due to complications from a lifelong or mostly lifelong chronic illness. JoAnn was one of those people who absolutely refused to let her illness and comorbidities define her, to the point Dan would have to Dad her to get her to take it easy or take a while to rest, or make use of her wheelchair when her cane wasn't enough support. She enjoyed going places and doing things, learning new skills and pursuing hobbies.

If Dan had to make her take time for self-care, JoAnn had to do the same for Dan. Encouraging him to get out and do things he's interested in or going places he's always wanted to visit. After a while, they sort of knew she was dying, and JoAnn had a long talk with Dan about not letting the 'mourning husband' become his identity, and that if he wanted to do right by her, he wouldn't stop living his life, and if he found another love, he better damn well pursue it, it's not like he'd be cheating!

About a year after her passing, his daughter, who lives in Manhattan, found herself in a relationship that had suddenly turned abusive when she told her fiancee she was pregnant. He figured he had her trapped, but didn't count on Toni having inherited her mother's sense of independence and agency. Before he could fully cut her off from everyone, she called Dan from a payphone and told him what happened, and he got her a bus ticket home, where they proceeded to figure out what to do from here.

Toni is very much her mother's daughter. After she left, her fiancé moved on, like she and her baby meant nothing to him. He sold or threw away most of her things and started in on a new victim pretty much immediately. Toni took all of that anger and hurt and decided the best use of those feelings and the biggest 'fuck you' she could give her ex was to stay in Manhattan and work on getting back on her feet, and later she puts a lot of that energy into adoring her son Robert, or Bobby. Dan pulls up stakes and moves to Manhattan to be close to his daughter and grandson, getting a job at one of the hospitals on the island (dunno which one). And it's there that he sees a familiar face in the ER.

My OC is Bernice 'Bernie' Johnson, almost exactly 20 years younger than Dan. She's an RN who works in an ER, and way back when she did at least part of her internship at Dan's hospital in Punxatawny (I have no idea if I spelled that right). She's independent and driven, and while she comes off as loose and fun generally, under pressure she's no-nonsense and quickly either falls in where needed or takes charge of the situation and gets shit done. She plans to become a doctor, but by the time Dan moves to Manhattan, she is definitely reconsidering her life choices.

When she's standing in the rain getting dicked around trying to hail a cab, Dan pulls up and offers her a lift, and a hot meal if she needs one. They chat while he drives and catch up some, and start getting coffee together at work, whenever Bernie has a scrap of time to do so. Bernie even meets Toni and Bobby once when Dan has Toni meet him at the ER so he can check out Bobby and see if he needs to be looked at further bc Toni is a New Mom and thus has no experience with the normal-but-wierd things that can happen with babies. Toni and Ira are both aware of their mother's final words to Dan, and Toni teases her dad about Manhattan being a great place to 'meet someone' (wink wink nudge nudge). Dan laughs it off because he was never much of a skirt chaser to begin with.

But after a while, Dan will bring coffee to Bernie when he's got a moment, and I need to research how things work but I'd like him to have to/volunteer to be the neurologist on call in the ER, and that's when things between him and Bernice really sort of take off. They become friends, and at some point he catches feels. But Bernie is the same age as his *daughter*, and he is painfully aware of the 'dirty old man' stereotype, as well as how commonplace it is for men in positions of power (relative or otherwise) use that prestige as carte blanche to misbehave with attractive young women, and also the corny 'old doctor wants to bang hot young nurse' stereotype.

Toni ends up pinning Dan down when he lets something slip in conversation, and encourages him to try and see if things could work, and reminds him of what Mom said before she died. He's still somewhat reluctant, and errs on the side of rather shameless flirting, figuring he'll let Bernie make a move if she wants to, and if she doesn't, well, that's that.

Bernie also caught feels at some point, and spent awhile kicking herself for having a crush on the distinguished older neurologist, and also errs on the side of flirting to see if she can gauge his reaction. And he flirts back, which is great! But she also knows he has a late wife, and she expects he might not be comfortable actually pursuing anything. Not long after they start up their 'friendly flirting' banter, shit in Bernie's life hits the fan and she ends up with nowhere to go, so Dan offers to let her couch surf at his place for a awhile till she can put things back together.

And that's when the time loop starts. The first day Bernice wakes up at his place, they spend the day together trying to come up with a plan and arrangements for Bernice to get back on her feet. At the end of the day, Dan briefly thinks how much he'd like to comfort her more, and falls asleep thinking about it. Lo and behold, the next day is *suspiciously* the exact same as the previous day, and Dan suddenly remembers that newscaster who asked him to take a look at his brain said he'd experienced some sort of timeloop.

Cue shenanigans as Dan goes through a similar process of repeating the same damn day over and over, till one day he finally get to the 'fuck it, I'll start over again tomorrow, might as fucking well go for broke. So he just spends the day with Bernie, and later on tells her to dress nice bc he wants to take her Out On The Town, if she's ok with that. They come home, and Dan makes his move by asking if Bernice would rather share the bed instead of sleeping on the couch. Bernie says something along the lines of 'It's about time you asked' and they finally smooch. Things get Spicee pretty quick, and Bernice finds out that age hasn't slowed Dan down, nor is he as reserved and vanilla as she expected.

Toni is fuckin STOKED to have Bernie as her stepmom, though they both agree that calling her mom might be a little wierd, so Bernie stays Bernie, but she and Toni end up getting along very well since they're pretty much the same age. And because apparently none of my Harold character OTPs are gonna be childless, Dan and Bernice end up having twins (what flavor and names, idfk yet) and Toni is once again excited bc her son will have other kids his age in the family to grow up with.

And that's about all I've got. As if that's not an entire wall of text LMAO why am I like this.

What was your first ever story idea? What happened to it? it was a fantasy novel about an elf girl. i've never read a book where the main character is an elf, so i decided to write one myself. i did actually end up writing it; it was the first novel i ever wrote and i was 14 when i did it (still proud of that; it was 230 pgs in a word document btw). anyway, i ended up losing access to the manuscript, so rip, but i'm fully intending to rewrite it someday and make it a lot better than it was when i was writing it at 14.

What’s your writing routine? usually i'll put on music and just start writing whatever comes to mind for whatever scene i'm trying to write at the time. whenever i can't figure out what to do next, i'll go on tumblr and scroll for a bit until it comes to me. it's pretty effective, though my editor literally thinks i'm doing nothing all day bc of this even tho i Promise him i'm Working On It 😭😭😭

Are you a plotter, a pantser, or something in between? in between for sure. i plan things as i go. i start with an overall idea and then just...start writing and plan for the next chapters as they come to me. with the novel i'm currently writing, i've only planned up through chapter 8 and i'm currently writing chapter 4. i used to plan everything, but for some reason that made it so much harder for me to actually write the novels, so i don't do that anymore.

Do you try to tell moral stories throughout your work, or any other life lessons? What are they? there was a time where i did that, but the older i've gotten, the more i've realized a solid plot is a lot more important than telling any moral story. whether you like it or not, people are going to remember your book for the story you tell, not the reason you're telling it, and as a reader, i tend to go for stories with more solid plots than morals anyway.

What do you prefer, character development or worldbuilding? Why? both?? idk they both come very easily to me. to the point that there's been times where i think i haven't done enough of either and people have read my work and told me the opposite. i guess worldbuilding is more fun, but it's harder, which i think is probably why i like it more than character development bc that comes even easier to me than worldbuilding.

Do you have any tips for budding writers? i'll tell you exactly what my editor told me in the first class of his i took when i was 12: write like a shark. whatever you're writing, write it until it's done. go back and edit later. i've learned you can do a little bit of editing as you go once you've finished a few novels because then you know you can do it (speaking from experience; i've finished 7 and self-published 2 and am working on my 8th), but if you're new to writing and you haven't finished a book yet, don't do it. you will get caught up in it otherwise. especially if you have adhd (like i do).

Who inspires you to write the most? at the moment?? probably tamsyn muir. we have a shocking amount in common (our birthday's are literally a single day apart, though she's older than me by several years) and her books are exactly the kind of books i want to write. but also mary doria russell (duh) because we have very similar writing styles; ellen hopkins because she really was who really taught me (through me reading her books) how to write emotional stuff really well; brandon sanderson bc nothing is ever going to beat how i felt at the ending of the mistborn trilogy; and marie lu because her characters from the legend trilogy live in my mind rent free still and i can't help thinking of day every time i create a new boy.

That's fair, if it makes you feel better I experienced the opposite in a way (I was pretty much directly told I'd have to quit my job, which if I think about it is obvious, but I'm still so sad- I love my job and the people. Part of me is like "it's okay, I can quit my job, go to school, ask for my job back <3" as though It makes any sense to go back to my CASHIER job after completing four years of nursing school) 

And that's completely understandable, everything is one day at a time. I'm sure the future will be better!! 

I would love for that to be something I'm capable of but instead I'm way too?? Bad at consuming media. Like TWO of my friends LOVE sandman so I was like "okay I'll watch it for you guys" put it on and didn't pay attention to a single second. 

I honestly judge that one less I tried so hard to watch Titans so go off. I know she appears in some Wonderwoman comics because I opened volume 8 and she was PISSED about something I missed because I only had volumes 1,2 and 8. But it was definitely largely important. (It should've been the new 52 run) hopefully you like the one you have open!! 

I use it a lot at work to make my hands feel right again, that's it. But you're right!! It's all personal and that's what matters. 

i have a tag on the first book so I know when it's available and then I'll probably try it. I'm glad you've been enjoying it! And that makes sense I get that (personally if I DO start reading it I'll probably google all the vibes because I hate suspense- it's why I got yelled at the last time I read a book my friend recommended. Apparently I "spoiled the end of Gideon" and "found out the whole thing harrows trying to figure out in Harrow" and I was like ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ but now no surprises) 

I went to the library yesterday!! I had to go to work to get something so I just kept running errands so I went to the library and I asked for an online library card. I spent like all night after that just *looking* at my options now. I picked a sad book (my favorite kind) that I need to remember to read and tagged a bunch for later (including, like I said, the Raven Boys- audiobook I think) 

i got to issue 11!! I know that's not a huge jump but I decided I was gonna read a couple and then I did. (because your site is so linear, and like just automatically goes to the next issue, it's a lot harder to stop lmao) 

Did you read the annual with Harley and Lobo? On my old old site that was counted as something else but not yours so I imagine you did? 

and tbch I haven't read ground zero yet, I own it but I just haven't cracked it open. That all sounds great though. 

His name IS Jake. HOWEVER he got the nickname Music Man because he just started playing music out of his pocket because the radio wasn't good enough so I started calling him "music Man" and then I heard his co worker call him Jake so boom Music Man Jake. But if it helps I have to physically restrain myself from instead calling him music man *Kyle* for some reason. (I believe it's because of the existence of Theatre Gay Kyle and Crackhead Kyle already in my life)

I know of that too but I also don't remember where it's from. And she IS in fact significantly better than all of them. Everyone knows boys drool girls rule. She can fuck'em all up and I love her for that. 

I think, in all honesty? I don't know how much you'll *like* year zero (Dinah's in it but not largely, Diana Might have a larger role? But iirc it's not really the marks you're trying to hit) HOWEVER that being said, it's a very short run so I'd say go for it. I'd you don't like it and it's hard to get through just stop.

boy howdy my life has been busy, apologies for my delay in response.

as it turns out, and now i can say it bc before i was paranoid somehow someone would find my blog and relate it to my job and learn the news this way, i am losing my job in the sense that my place of work will be closing end of january. i’m gonna miss my coworkers most of all and a good amount of the dogs as well but i’m otherwise handling this news pretty well i think? idk like i’ve said i’ve been so burnt out and i thankfully have the fallback of being able to go back to living with my parents while i recalibrate. i have a feeling i will be sadder the closer it gets to closing time but for now i’m putting emotions about it on a shelf for later.

oh that’s totally fair. i definitely don’t consume every media friends like/recommend bc i don’t have the time and tbh not everything interests me but if the interests vaguely line up i do try. or at least im trying to try. and sometimes trying to try things that don’t necessarily sound particularly interesting but sound like they could be surface level fun and there’s nothing wrong with enjoying something at surface level. idk. its hard to commit to starting new things to be invested in. there’s just not enough time in the world.

(personally if i ever end up in a time loop i will be fucking around and consuming as much media as possible before looking for a resolution.)

i think i honestly stand by the fact that titans has some really good moments. but it just also has some really bad moments. i wouldn’t say it’s balanced necessarily but god the good stuff is so good to me and i am willing to suffer through the bad. (and to some degree. some of the Bad honestly became comedic to me-though bald connor will never be one of those that shit was god awful. boy needs his hair, i’ll say it.)

congrats on going to the library!!! huge step and i love that for you!! you are SO valid re googling the vibes. i didn’t feel like there was a whole lot of suspense in the first book personally but i also was not surprised by two of the “dramatic reveals” but i may have also been potentially over analytic of the first book so i’m not sure i’m the best judge of character.

ALSO!!!! the locked tomb!!! love that series!! they make for great audiobooks though a little confusing and confusing stuff is harder in audiobook format bc i can’t easily reread bits until my brain has digested them. but it’s so much easier for me to get through an audiobook because i can do it while doing other stuff.(i feel like i’ve already talked about audiobooks so i’m not gonna continue on the ramble that’s forming in my head and move on instead.)

i try to make it my philosophy that any progress no matter how small is still progress so congrats on making it to issue 11. i definitely agree that it’s a little too easy to just keep going thru the issues on that site bc i’ve definitely been like “i’ll read a few” and then binge a whole lot. ah well.

i planned to make a fancy page for this but tumblr ruined my day,  so have a quick summary of some of the most important npcs in pat’s life:

javier carosella:  father,  deceased.   used to be a very powerful drug lord  ( his notoriety was comparable to the likes of el c/hapo or pablo e/scobar ).   it’s completely okay to have your muse recognize pat’s surname.   he and pat were very close,  and his death when she was 13 absolutely crushed her.   now,  she’s grown to think of her father in a very idealized way that’s perhaps not that accurate to who he actually was,  and she still misses him dearly.

luisa ríos:   mother.   in some verses she’s dead after an overdose,  in others she’s still alive and living in texas with the money pat gives her every month.   they have a very turbulent relationship and more often than not they don’t get along.   although pat constantly makes excuses for her and tries to remedy their relationship,  it’s undeniable that luisa has caused her a lot of hurt.

benjamín ortíz:   the worst of them all.   more details about him can be found at pat’s  about page,  or else this would get too long.   they have a very abusive on-and-off relationship,  and pat secretly plots his demise.

matteo brancato:   half-brother on luisa’s side.   luisa had him at only 15 years of age and left him with her sister,  who took him in as her own son.   he and pat only met when pat was 16 years old,  and although it was a difficult period of pat’s life,  they became very close friends.   in verses such as the runaway verse,  it’s him she comes to for help and they live together for a few months.

Jarlaxle: Easy, smash. This man knows what he's doing, or at least wants the world to believe he knows what he's doing. I'd say he's not afraid to try new things, but lets be real, there's probably very little he hasn't tried. He's crazy rich so I do expect him to treat me to a nice dinner and a bottle of wine. Knowing that there's a sweet, caring heart underneath the flamboyant and chaotic exterior just makes him more attractive. This man would be perfect but I sense commitment issues and know he's got that tendency to self-sabotage relationships. Oh, well. A night of passion I'll never forget is more than enough from this handsome mercenary. I also want us to play dress-up in his closet after. Maybe during. I bet this man owns some gorgeous leather body harnesses. Probably a whole trunk of magical toys. Anyways.

Kimmuriel: ayyyyy you all know me well enough by now to know this is a SMASH for me. Love the fact that the fandom on here likes to put his height right around 5'; I've always wanted to try to pull off slinging a cute drow over my shoulder and walking off with him like the dragon sisters did with Jarlaxle, and I'm confident I can pull that off with Kimm here assuming he's into it and cooperates. Does he have Jarlaxle's experience in this arena? Probs not, but you just KNOW there's some freaky shit one could do with psionics, so lets uh, pioneer some new techniques if you know what I mean. I've got so many questions about psionics in general actually, so I'd hope this turns into at least a few dates and not just a one-night thing. Want to learn more about stars, sweetie? Here, lemme whisper infodump in ya ear, that's hot, right?

Rai'gy: He's confident and I like that, but I don't date or sleep with priests, esp. not priests from a super controlling religion. Sorry! It's kind of a "you gotta be at least thiiiiis much agnostic to ride" situation.

Valas: Listen, I met a guy once that was kind, loves to just leave situations, GREAT navigator, knows his constellations, and figures a great first date is a quiet late night nature walk. I wifed that man up so fucking fast.. and I'm not even talking about Valas here. But back to the drow at hand, this isn't just a smash, this is a respectfully smash and then marry. Or it would be if I wasn't already, yknow, married. But for the sake of the game, I'm telling you. I see marriage material right here.

Zaknafein: Sooo sadly I'm gonna take a pass on this one. I haven't got to the later books yet but fandom osmosis tells me daddy Zak has anger issues? Sorry, If I wanted a guy with kids, a crazy ex, and a tendency to lash out when pissed I could just drive my ass back to my hometown and have my pick of the litter.

Beniago: Have not really met him yet (maybe I should redo this when I'm actually done with all the books lol), but from what I hear, smash? Probably?

Drizzt: v respectful pass bc this man is married and also has a kid now. Hit me up twenty+ books from now and I'll let you know if I change my mind. I will say, if it were I and not Innovindil up on those mountains... anyways.

Oh My god, I just watched The Old Guard and since it started I haven't stopped imagining the veterans and someone of the 104th as the main characters. Also, it's a very good movie, if you ever have the time, I recommend it. Aaaaaand I send you a hug <3

erwin is obviously the oldest immortal who got the group together, their fearless leader so to speak. cold-hearted and rough, there seemed to be a softer side of him.... was probably born somewhere around 5-6 BC and has been a prominent figure in every era since that time. there exists hundreds of portraits with his face, yet somehow he manages to keep under radar

mike as the first immortal erwin took under his wing! they're best buds and always have each other back! mike was born in medieval times and, maybe, was a monk who was leading a pretty calm life until he died a very stupid death and then met erwin

hange and levi as the youngest immortals who constantly keep erwin on his toes. they're always together, always up to some mischief (hange is always up to some mischief, levi just tags along), but erwin can't really be mad with them because he loves them so much (+ hange's puppy eyes are spot on). whenever they're not stirring up some trouble and hange isn't neck deep in some research, they're probably making out. it's been centuries and they still are madly in love

"ah, young love," erwin says as he sees hange drag levi into their bedroom. "i remember it so well... i was young too...."

"and when was that?" mike snorts. "a millennia ago?"

and the new kid appears and gets immediately adopted by those four weirdos! logically, it has to be eren..... but i don't like eren, so let it be jean, because a) jean is cute, b) hange and jean have interesting dynamic, and c) jean and erwin could make an interesting duo as well!

jean, upon seeing erwin, mike, hange and levi - hange is waving him over like a total goof, levi is scowling, erwin is giving him that soft smile that reminds jean of his father and mike is straight up sniffs him: god, and i can't even die now? i have to spend an eternity with these freaks?

but one horrible encounter with some bad guys later, he's like "ah.... i guess these freaks have adopted me, i guess it's not so bad...." and he doesn't admit or anything (he secretly wants to look as cool as levi), but he loves his family so much :)

Interest Query!

I'm curious about what kind of content my art and writing followers are comfortable with and expecting from me.

My ML Mermaid AU, Balancing the Scales, is at a crossroads. Now that intros are handled, Adrien and Marinette will be getting closer. But how close is a question I haven't settled yet.

Do I:

Keep it PG13, no kinky stuff

Fade to black and keep things Implied Only

The above but with the Cut Scenes on my AD account

Just up the rating and bring on the lemons

Similarly, is there any interest in seeing steamy or lemon artwork from me? This would be 3D renders, either in fandom or OC. And aged up obviously. Or is that a Hell No? (Art would end up on my AD Twitter since Tumblr can't even stand exposed forearms.) I would also keep previews on a new AD alt here for those not wanting to see even the crops.

If anyone's got good wishes they can send this way, it'd be much appreciated. I'm going through some medical stuff that might turn out to be a permanent disability. I'm hoping it is, at least, treatable. It may be related to the auto accident last December so yay for that /s.

Work is still only part time so if anyone wants to throw a kofi my way for an ML kiss or poly meme, I'm open for those. Regular commission inquiries can go to @caffeinatedmagpie. Follow me there, I'll probably do another giveaway soon.

Emergency Commissions Open

If anyone is interested in 3D render commissions (human, demon, monster, furry, pet/companion critter), let me know!

I've been on basically $0 income since mid December while I recover from a bad car accident, and have to pay for office upgrades now, due to some changes at my employer. They aren't footing any of the bill for moving my cubicle to my house this week and I need computer equipment and a new desk because one tiny one can't hold two setups (art and work) @.@ They gave us 24 hours notice, I can't pull $300 out of nowhere that fast.

Here's a few examples of work I've done and models I can customize as your own OC. More examples and WIPs over on @caffeinatedmagpie

(First three images are custom modified and painted characters and scenes I've made. Last three collages are types of models I can customize - most humanoid and canid figures can have their features drastically morphed and combined to create all sorts of critters and aliens.)
