Turns out birthdays still come around…😅 I thought that my birthday wouldn't come while I was serving in the military but… it's already February 18th ahahaha!! What does that mean…? It means! 'Time passes…' that's what it is hahahaha I'm rambling a bit too much since I find it so fascinating. 😅🤣 Anyways, this is my first and last birthday as a soldier…! I've really been feeling your love and your attention a lot these days hehe It's probably because of all the reactions from the people around me, and all the events you're doing, that I feel it fully seep into me!!! I feel this renewed surprise, and I also feel my shoulders.. go up in pride:)🤩😋🤩😙

Special Day - Jungkook

Two o'clock fifty-five.

With his eyes riveted to the clock, Jungkook couldn't concentrate on the work in front of him, and this solo moment was a good idea, as it allowed him to lose his shyness and assert his style. It also delighted fans, who were able to see him in a new light and get to know him better. But that didn't mean it was easy; the pace was even more sustained, with promotions, album releases and solo concerts all taking up his time, which meant he saw far less of the others, all equally lost in their oceans of small lives. Two o'clock and fifty six minutes. Only a minute had passed, and yet not a single line had been highlighted on the computer screen in front of him. His head was full of ideas, some good, some not so good, some too difficult to follow and some far too simple for his perfectionist nature. But now he couldn't concentrate, he couldn't get fully into the writing, and that frustrated him. Finally, he gives up, slamming the screen down with a thud, hoping he hasn't broken anything, and lets a deep sigh pass his lips. All his attention is still focused on the same exact person, Kim Taehyung. The little couple they form together, delights most people, but deeply disappoints others, which is why the agency doesn't want to put them in the limelight, or even hides them. So they have to live through the screen of their respective telephones, not often having the right to a more human contact when the cameras are pointed at them. Which is pretty much all the time. Another long sigh passed unwillingly as his body slid against the cool ground. Taehyung wasn't on the line, which meant that the older man was probably off on some great adventure, far from the exciting life of Seoul. Far away from him. A small lump formed in his stomach as the messages poured in on his phone, a little notification bubble to which he didn't pay complete attention, for the moment, he didn't care about the love of the fans, the band or his family. Several little questions flashed through his mind: had he forgotten? He was probably too busy with work, but he'd never, ever forgotten that fateful date. Maybe something had happened to the older man, maybe he'd died in a car accident, or a plane crash. Worse still, they'd kidnapped him, held him prisoner, he couldn't wish it on him. All his muscles tensed, and he let his eyes wander over the home page of his phone, everyone would have jumped at the news by now. There was nothing to worry about. Right? Finally, he was fed up with his cramped apartment, which prevented him from breathing. He needed to decompress, to think about something else. The headphones are quickly pushed into his ears, and he hurries off to the gym. His whole body is in knots as he happily returns to the sofa, promising himself a shower in ten minutes or so. He glances at his phone, hoping to see the long-awaited notification, but nothing. Nothing, no affectionate nicknames appear on his contacts, and Jungkook purses his bottom lip, he'd forgotten. Him. On his birthday. Everyone had remembered, millions of strangers had wished him, but not him. Anger took over from sadness, which then took over from tears. It was painful, a little. He'd wished for everyone else's, but couldn't even remember his own? Finally, he was going to take a shower now, it would do him good. And he'd stop brooding. When he finished, before he could put on his clothes, his phone vibrated. And like a little teenager, which he becomes when Taehyung is involved in the conversation, or in the same room, he runs to pick it up. All his doubts and problems seem to vanish in the blink of an eye, when he sees the older man's face behind the screen, seemingly walking down the street.

“- What took you so long? Why didn't you call sooner?

- Sorry, I got caught up in something I couldn't get to before.

- Where are you? Where are you going?

- I'm in Seoul. I'm enjoying the weather!”

Jungkook's heart misses several beats, if they're keeping quiet about Seoul, then why hadn't he just come? His expression must give it away, as Taehyung opens his mouth to say something, but someone cuts him off. And finally, the video call cuts off. The younger man's eyebrows furrowed as he tried to understand what had just happened, and above all, who Taehyung might be with at this very moment. He hadn't announced any big outings, or anything in his schedule. Too many questions and no answers from his lover, leaving him in a fog he doesn't like very much. And it's around eighteen fifty, when the apartment door opens, to a visibly uncomfortable Kim Taehyung.

“- Jungkook, you're not answering my messages. I thought you were asleep.

- Uh-Uh.”

He doesn't turn his head, doesn't look up from his phone, and Taehyung tries not to smile. He approaches slowly, puts his hands on his lover's shoulders before kissing the top of his head, then his cheeks, and finally Jungkook allows him a real love kiss, reassuring them both. But Jungkook remains suspicious, looking at his lover, who doesn't seem to have taken off his jacket or even his shoes, and Taehyung smiles tenderly at him.

“- Get dressed, we're going out.

- Where are we going?

- To look for your birthday present.”

Jungkook looked up at him, and it didn't take him long to get dressed and follow him, without knowing exactly where he was going. And the strange realization that in reality, just the fans are wishing him his birthday takes hold of him as he passes through the door of the restaurant, where the rest of the group is waiting for him. Cake, presents and music already playing as the youngest's eyes shine with a new sparkle, joy finally taking over his heart, glad not to have been left out.

“- It was hard, and terribly long.

- Even more so for Taehyung, who wanted to tell you every three seconds.

- But we managed to do it.”

Taehyung raises his eyes to the heavens, before inviting Jungkook to come and see what had been planned for this special day, and even though there's plenty of interesting stuff in front of him, his eyes can't leave his lover's happy face. Feeling his eyes refuse to let go, Taehyung looks back at him, pressing his lips against Jungkook's.

“- I hope you enjoy the surprise.

- Next time, don't leave me hanging. I was worried you'd forgotten.

- Forgotten on the best day of the year? Never in a million years.”

Jungkook blushed, and came to kiss his lover more deeply, who responded with the same heart, to exclamations of mock disgust and laughter from the other members. In the end, it wasn't so bad having to wait so long, he's even pleased by the surprise, reassured too, and filled with love.

“Once again, guys! Happy birthday Jungkook!”
