 He’s shooing way the pesky fingers to allow his own to edge closer, to pick cautiously at what appears to be remnants of his same aged friend’s fringe, all wayward and in need of detangler. “Not many can get away with the bed head look so why would you go straight for the ‘I-drank-five-bottles-too-much’ look. There’s certain prerequisites you have to satisfy before hand.  Like first stage: fake bed head; touched up by stylist. Second stage: not so casual bed head; tickled a little by stylist.” Unable to get over how much of an eye sore the other looks, he makes sure to make  a big deal of these so-called stages(…to go off on an  impromptu lecture), counting them off on his fingers as he lists ‘em. “– and finally,  third stage: Hangover bed head.”

“Don’t even try to come at my hair game without stepping up yours first.  Some of us,” He exclusively means himself. “-can drink and look photo shoot ready afterwards. It’s all about the after care.”

It wasn’t until he received his hyung’s text did he begin to feel just a little bit better about being AWOL during the first fan sign of many.

A massive improvement considered he’s been successfully scolding himself for the ordeal when in reality– when he knew– it wasn’t his fault at all. Still his inner monologue is cruel and the workaholic (that works with life okay! ) in him is crueler. Missing an official schedule–a fan sign at that–made Kibum’s heart sink to the very bottom of the ocean; he really really wanted to be there and really reallydidn’t want to be without his members and his fans that day. But filming comes first (was actually scheduled before hand) and filming he did. There’s no need to cry over spilt milk, he tells himself. There will always be more fan signs and he will always have a good side of fanservice on his belt and if that wasn’t enough to tickle the blanket burrito– he had Lee Jinki as his personal cheerleader.

Kim Kibum must really care about this girl. To–after 3 consecutive days of SHINee world 5’s intensive track-list nearing thirty-five– miss out on his much-needed beauty sleep and still be up at the crack of dawn as if he didn’t have practice in a few hours.

He must really really care about this girl because even though he’s dead tired, sore limbs slack around the plethora of snack foods he’d ordered (for her because “–If I’m going to spend my calories- I’m gonna spend them responsibly”); he offers a dimpled-strung smile against silky auburn locks, arms winding just that much more around her tiny frame, her fragility seeping through the bounds of his appendages. “Shhhhh…. shhh, I’m here. It’s okay. Everything’s okay.”

The ‘hyung’ card was always an indicator that Kim Taehyung was up to no good(but when was he not?) and in this particular instance he has the misfortune of getting a triple dose of how much of a God awful liar Taehyung is.”All you had to do was monitor and flip, how can you mess that up?” Here he’s notably huffy, teeth clenched as he twists the contraption off and  curses the perpetrator with his eyes.

In spite of it all, the flames of war rage on with a  meaty damsel in distress square in the middle.  He’s about to save the frazzled princess, lift her with care when another pair of tongs intrude, clanking with his.  “–Yah. Yah!  Don’t, stop– you’re making it worse, don’t–”

More grumbles and the ringing of colliding tongs later a victor is decided.  It’s the grill. Covered in charcoal with ¾ths of the charcoal-colored meat strapped to it. The other ¼th? Clutched in Kibum’s tongs,  it’s barely a scrap of inedible, charred meat–and, god, if looks could kill (and Taehyung didn’t waddle dangerous close to Kibum’s soft spot, tsk!) BTS would be a group of 6 and Taehyung would be 50 feet under. “Look at this.”

But who could miss it, really? The stiff, black, disfigured oddity that droops from unwilling tongs and into Kim Taehyung’s  plate.

Lavender( 金繕い )  The Golden Repairer

It’s asked in typical Kibum fashion, a statement because he knows he’s gonna get an answer. Kibum’s been painting a lot these days, metaphorically so, assigning those most important to him with a hue.

 ( “You’re lavender. 선생님  is lavender. Always. Until 선생님 shows strong, passionate emotions. Then you become deep splashes of reds and orange. I live for those guest appearances from red and orange but lavender is kinda cute too~”  )

Now it was his turn to be painted by the brush.

“ The colors around you glow and pulsate. It's mesmerizing. You're encompassed in a soft glow that becomes intense depending on your mood. You can go from a delicate blossom of a blush on one's cheeks to a beautiful cascade of a sunset or sunrise... “

Kibum gasps, closing his eyes to let the words seep into his soul, imprint his heart again and again. The Golden Repairer spins gold from vivid hues, tying them to Kibum and a treacherous tug to his heart strings. It’s with scrunched, somewhat perplexed brows (and some miracle he can’t quite put his hand on) that he opens his eyes, that he sees. Tears breach their dam, spilling over the river’s bed only to be properly dismissed. A hand, not his, (ones that are small and dainty, everything his hands aren’t) doesn’t only whisk them away, but embraces them, too. Palm is free to linger upon his chest, he’s truly touched, and the repairer knows it too. He’s silent for a long time then. Seconds, a full on minute. And he’s allowed to be.

"You’re right, honey~” A shy quiver of a smile cares to join them, near shielded by the curling of a hand. “ You’re right...”

He hasn’t followed it because his time never allowed that, but now he has a chance to actually talk to one of those boys. “Monsta X? Weird name. I mean— don’t take it in a bad way! It sounds cool. We were called WINNER simply because we won the competition, which isn’t very creative if you think well about it. Anyways—”, he clears his throat. “If it’s about my life story, it’s kinda boring. I’m just gonna talk about my WIN days too. If you meant the last story I read— that’s easy.” He beams with a smile while fixing a few strands of his hair. “It was about room 703. I had no idea it used to be a popular thing on the internet. I ran into it like a week ago only.”

“I mean, it’s open for interpretation, I just feel like listening to some kind of story of yours. Might gain me insight, y’know.” Wonho couldn’t do anything but slightly smile, as he was being truthful, more interested in the reaction. The explanation should do, because Taehyun if anyone had an idea of what it was like --- seeing people one held close get eliminated. He wouldn’t miss a chance to hear if from another perspective, as these opportunities didn’t come very often. Laughter, had him cover his mouth, lowering his head a bit. Not out of embarrassment, but simply because he didn’t want to be interrupting. “No, no, I get it. It’s especially weird if the thought behind it isn’t explained, but we’ll save that story for another day, I think. Your group name sounds confident though, that’s one of the most important qualities.
