What if tadc was a dating sim?

Introducing... The Amazing Digital Dating Sim AU! An au where Pomni and the other human characters were isekaied into a dating sim. Pomni takes on the role of the protagonist while the others are the different love interests (including Caine, the secret bachelor).

Caine is still the ringmaster of the circus, but now he actually takes on that role. He is still sentient and aware that the others are humans, though Caine has much less power in this au. Also, the game itself is aware and tries to keep the story on track whenever the characters attempt to derail the plot.

What's the plot of the game? Pomni joining a dying circus and helping to save it. While the jester isn't interested in saving the circus, she still decides to play along thinking that they can escape upon finishing the game. Which is easier said than done when the other circus members have given up on the idea of escape long ago during their time during the prologue of the game and are delaying the inevitable end. Any potential romantic feelings makes things much more difficult for Pomni, who's struggling with her role as a jester. Is escape possible? Will love change her mind on leaving the game? What happens once the game is over? I do want to continue talking about this au of mine, so stay tuned for future posts!

Is there a canon (to this au) pairing? Yes and no. Each character's route is like a parallel reality that is just as "real/canon" as the others. Kinger's route though has more of a platonic feel to it than a romantic one. Sorry, but I prefer Kinger and Pomni having more of a platonic, almost familial relationship.

Also, I want to delve deeper into the characters having limited freedom and how that affects them. It will get dark. How dark? Not sure yet.

My personally favorite TADC ship isn't a pair at all. It's a polycule. Of all the humans and Caine. Some might be more involved with some individuals than with others, but they've all messed around with each of the others at least once.

Now, I'm not asking you to draw all of them together, that's a lot of characters and I don't want to do that to you if you aren't up to it. But if there's any mix that involves three or more of the cast together that you like, I'd love to see it!

I ship all the characters so this is good tbh. Think there's lots of funny potential. I can't make anything specific but I WILL show a funny idea I've had for a series of fanarts that is ADC "Dating Sim AU," where you play as Caine and you're trying to woo one or multiple of your players to try and provide more enrichment in their lives (for better or for worse). Because that's what romance with humans is for right?? Big good ending is if you're able to happily romance all of them with minimum conflict.

This is my first time doing pixel art shading and stuff, I don't feel like it's that good-

(Story wise Able and Caine don't have icons as they are seen as the match makers and so they don't have a heart system like the players and other NPCs, but they still can be romanced in secret routes, if wanted enough though I will make them some icons too, just they wouldn't be canon.)

Who is dating who in your tadc au?

Okay! So many don't have relationships set, but a few we personally like are

Ragatha x Pomni x Loolilalu(to be worked on) this is because Ragatha and Pomni are in the same district in the game and are the most able to see eachother and Loolilalu in this world is the provider for foods in general and so often goes to Ragatha's cafe to see how people in the game are using the ingredients. Plus disaster lesbian Ragatha just makes me so happy!

Pomni x Toothfairy is also cute because Pomni out of all the players (Jax doesn't count since he mostly complains) talks to Toothfairy and Cupid and so actually becomes very close to them in a way many of the others didn't even know was possible since on their screens for affection Toothfairy and Cupid don't appear

Toothfairy x Kinger though is a favorite because of how Kinger loved bugs so much and originally was just an entomologist, but Toothfairy ended up loving him so much it's one of the times they messed around with the code to make Kinger a full on bug king

Another love is Gangle x Zooble since Zooble only really leaves the underworld (Yes, that is an entire realm/map in this game because Toothfairy got mad when Zooble kept criticizing the game) to see Gangle since they have a lot on common and Gangle is highly interested in the occult.

Ragatha x any girl works because she is the happiest there due to being able to be her authentic self. She is free and she will kiss all the women she can! (Plus she polyamorous)

Jax x anyone doesn't exactly work too well, but we don't mind people shipping things in this au that we don't as long as they respect their orientations and genders. Though Jax x anyone doesn't work because he is a menace! He fucking hates it there! He complains to Cupid and Toothfairy, he actually finds glitches to exploit to mess with the others so for example they may be in one place, but he finds a part that clips through map if they do a very specific action and will then ruin their day with such.

So these are just ones we like, but we are fine with people shipping whatever they want!
