Posting an old Supercorp holiday fluff one shot I wrote, because it’s that time of year! 🎄

Summary: Lena brings her new girlfriend to the super friends’ annual holiday party. Kara tries her best to seem unbothered and be happy for her friend that she’s been pining over since the second they met. Of course she fails miserably.

Fanfic Plagiarism alert!

Attention, especially for the people in the following fandoms: Mission: Impossible (specifically Benthan) and Top Gun Maverick.

It brings me no joy to say that we have a big problem in these fandoms - a shameless serial plagiarist who copies other people's fanfics from other fandoms, changes character names and sometimes a few desciptions of the settings or adds a few sentences or paragraphs when they feel generous, and posts them as their own. It is literally Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V type of thing.

My friends and I have reported this person repeatedly on ao3, but we still have not received any response from the staff.

Seeing posts from fellow Benthan fans who are excited about the fact that we are getting close to having 1000 Benthan fics on ao3 makes me sad because of this, because I know quite a few of them are just not legit, and, since ao3 has not responded in months, I guess I have to do a good old public call-out.

This person is known on ao3 by the pen name rosexpetals. If they are reading this, I can only recommend them to delete the stolen works (not just the ones listed in this post, if more are stolen, they can be found later anyway) and take a long look at themselves and reflect on their actions. I wish for them to discover the actual joys of writing something of their own, of expressing their own feelings instead of hijacking other people's.

Below the cut are the links to the works and their sources that I and a couple of friends were able to find using just a simple quick Google search. Out of their 96 published fics, at least 29 are provably stolen (and those are just the ones we were able to find via simple searches), which gives off a strong feeling that none of their work is really original. Some of them were copied from the same source twice. 9 more fics are copies of each other, but in different fandoms (very likely just copied from the same sources). As you will see below, sometimes they didn't even bother to change the title of the original fic they were stealing from or its summary:

The Duke has not entrusted anyone else with this task other than himself. Until now. With the exception of a mishap in the cellars on the first night, the rest of your trips to Castle Dimitrescu go smoothly and you end up fitting in quite well, with The Lady herself taking a liking to you. Which works out well, because her interest in you allows you to get closer to Lady Dimitrescu. Close enough to make it incredibly easy to complete your objective as an undercover BSAA agent when the time comes. The objective: Assassinate Lady Dimitrescu. There’s just one tiny problem. You end up falling in love with your target.

Summary: Older Jamie misses Dani and can’t bring herself to move on, following a ritualistic routine every night in hopes of catching a glimpse of her lost love. She doesn’t realize (and never remembers) that she gets to spend every sleeping moment with her.

Super Girl — Supercorp pairing

Summary: Lena Luthor has been at the center of several assassination attempts, orchestrated by her now imprisoned brother, and all of which have been thwarted by the DEO and Supergirl. But Lena is getting more and more frustrated by the secrets the DEO (and Supergirl by extension) is keeping from her. She vents her frustration to Kara, who against her better judgement agrees to go with Lena on a non DEO sanctioned outing to one of Lex’s abandoned buildings. There they discover a secret lab, which becomes their prison when they fall victim to a trap Lex has set for Lena and Supergirl, in the form of red kryptonite. Lena’s not worried, because for the first time in weeks she’s finally dodged her super hero shadow. It’s just her and Kara, so of course the red k shouldn’t have any effect on them. She’s not worried, until she sees the look of absolute panic in her friends eyes.

Summary: Events that happen between Lena and redk-infected Supergirl have serious repercussions. OR Lena tries to use science to save the world from any future red-k Supergirl encounters. Summary: Lena has forgotten who Kara Danvers and Supergirl are. The reality that she knows comes crashing down when she has a chance encounter with Supergirl, who for some reason doesn’t seem to like her very much, for not knowing her. So why does she seem so familiar to her? And then she meets Kara Danvers, and she knows for sure something is amiss. Her memories have been tampered with, and she is determined to figure out why, and by who, at any cost.

Summary: Chapter 1–Lena tries to tell Kara how she feels, but keeps failing miserably. And then Kara kind of beats her to it. Overall PG rating Chapter 2–Then they watch Jeopardy, and Kara resorts to desperate measures to break Lena’s winning streak. Oh, a solid M, maybe E rating. Smut, but somewhat educational smut, what with the Jeopardy sprinkled in.

Summary: I felt the tiny changes in water pressure each time Kara turned on the sink to rinse her toothbrush. She always rinsed three times, three rounds of brushing. So far there’d been two. I waited for the third. And waited. Suddenly I felt warm hands brush against my sides and I yelped in surprise and spun back around. “Hi.” Kara greeted me happily, gently grabbing me by the waist and preventing me from slipping. She wore an amused expression, and nothing else. God, she was beautiful. I realized I was staring, and also that I wasn’t breathing. I inhaled quickly. “Oh, yes. Hello.” She gazed at me, eyes intense and burning, as she stepped a little closer—almost predatory—and I shivered a little in anticipation. “Wait, aren’t you supposed to be at a DEO briefing?” She shrugged. “They can start without me. Besides, I’ve been meaning to ask you. This shower head, it looks really nice. Good water pressure.” I gave her a confused look and she smiled mischievously. Still not putting it together, I nonchalantly replied something to the effect of “Only the best for Lena Luthor.” And laughed nervously. “Mhmm. It um, it looks like it’s detachable.”

Summary: Lena and Kara ignore their broken hearts by throwing themselves into their work. Then the two are thrown into a situation where they can’t ignore them anymore. OR (As a reader pointed out) The DEO provides some long overdue lesbian reparations!

Summary: Kara’s really sick from a Kryptonian virus she was exposed to, and decides to self-quarantine to protect others from catching the unknown illness. Lena doesn’t think Kara should have to weather her sickness all alone, and comes by to keep her company.

Summary: Kara’s secret is revealed, and they both deal with the fallout. OR Kara tries to give Lena some space, but can only go so long before taking matters into her own hands. OR Lena works toward forgiveness while also enacting some revenge. It’s probably not the healthiest way of going about it.

Summary: Lena meets up with the super gang at the dive bar for what she thinks will be a night of drinks, conversation, and chill vibes. Instead, it’s karaoke night, and Lena gets roped into performing. Several drinks are quickly consumed, providing much needed liquid courage for singing…among other things.

Summary: Lena tries to freeze time to give herself more time to figure out what she's going to do. Of course, it doesn't go as planned, because the spell doesn't work on the one person she really wanted it to work on.

Summary: You interrogate the assassin and get the information you need, only to then be immediately interrogated by the Dimitrescu daughters.

You and Lady Dimitrescu confess your feelings for one another. You try to come clean about your initial intentions (just the small matter of being sent to kill her) but lose the plot when the Lady starts to seduce you, which you quickly give into.

Chapter Summary: After making your rounds and delivering to the smaller local customers, you stop off at the village pub with the goal of learning more secrets about the town and the Lady that lives in the castle above it.

Instead, you somehow end up in a brawl defending the Lady’s honor. 🤷🏽

Unfortunately, due to the unexpected bar fight you arrive late and in disarray to dinner with the Lady and her daughters. You’re asked to go clean yourself up, and when you return it’s just you and Lady Dimitrescu. It’s around this time that you discover you’re a lightweight when it comes to wine, and the Lady has to assist you back to your room.

Checking In, and Checking Out — Chapter Six

Supercorp, Kara x Lena, hotel AU

Summary: Lena deals with her unexpected visitor and spends the evening coming to terms with the fact that she's got a bit of a crush on the night shift hotel manager.

Later that night, she's woken by sounds of thunderous knocking and even more thunderous...thunder. The power is out, and the hotel manager is making the rounds and checking on hotel guests.

Lena offers to help fix the backup generators, because she’s pretty handy. Awkwardness ensues.

“What do you want, dude? I’m kinda b—” Her eyes widen, and she clamps her mouth shut when she sees that the person in front of her is very much not a dude, but a very hot, dark-haired woman. The woman is several inches taller than her, so she lifts her head up and is met with a pair of ocean blue eyes that she immediately finds herself drowning in.

“I’m sorry, are you busy?” the woman asks, and Vi detects a very proper British sounding accent, and fuck, it’s somehow both adorable and sexy all at once. On closer inspection, her hair is a dark shade of blue—so dark it gives the appearance of being jet-black depending on how the light reflects off of it—and it’s meticulously pulled back with a few strands intentionally left out to frame her face and compliment her high cheekbones.

One thing is blatantly obvious: she is unquestionably a topsider, and a well-to-do one, at that.

“N-no, not at all. How can I do you?” The woman’s eyebrows raise, a smirk tugs at one of the corners of her mouth, and Vi feels her face flush from a mixture of embarrassment and sudden desire. She’s mortified, because obviously she’d meant to say either ‘what can I do for you’ or ‘how can I help you,’ and somehow they got mashed up to ask something very different. But she’s also inexplicably turned on, her mind flashing to images of what that mouth with a sexy little smirk on it could do to her.

She clears her throat and offers a roguish smile, scraping together as much confidence as she can as she goes to correct herself. “Sorry. I mean, how can I help you, Cupcake?” She figures she needs to be extra self-assured—verging on cocky, even—to make up for her previous lack of cool.

The woman’s eyes sparkle with amusement, but she gives a very run of the mill response instead of the one that must be brewing inside her brain. “Do you take requests?”

“Um, yeah of course. What would you like?” The woman’s smirk spreads into a grin, and she names the song, which Vi only half pays attention to, too distracted by how her stomach feels like a kaleidoscope of butterflies has been let loose inside. Because the woman was beautiful before, but with the way she’s smiling now she’s fucking breathtaking.

Summary: You reflect on your childhood and the years you spent with your aunt while going about your merchant duties.

You befriend Nora, the shy stablehand who would like to request more stable supplies from the Lady but seems anxious to do so. You offer to accompany them to the Lady's office and help make the request but get lost on your way there. You're both rescued by the most unlikely source, and you're left with lots of questions afterward.

Summary: Oh my, so much happens. It’s a long one at 7k+ words!

You and Bela have a heated exchange, which inadvertently reveals the likely cause of Bela’s animosity.

Daniela comes to place a peculiar order with you for your next delivery, and runs into Nora on her way out. Their interaction and Nora’s distress afterward solidifies your suspicions that something is or was going on between them.

You and Carissa finally sit down to talk, and the cat is let out of the bag that she’s romantically involved with one of the Dimitrescu daughters.

The Lady summons you for morning tea to discuss business matters, after which you accompany her on a stroll through the garden. You’re both on the verge of admitting feelings for one another when a wrench is thrown (or an arrow is shot?) in the works, and you’re shocked to learn there’s another assassin after your target.
