The guacamole, cheese, salsa, and crunchy tortilla chips on these Taco Burgers make them a mix of traditional burgers and Mexican flavors. A tasty treat for anyone who likes burgers!
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1 packet taco seasoning. 4 hamburger buns. 1 cup guacamole. 1 cup shredded cheese your choice. 1 cup salsa. 1 cup tortilla chips, crushed. Lettuce and tomato slices for garnish.
Instructions: Put the ground beef and taco seasoning in a bowl and mix them together. Make four burger patties from the mixture that you mixed well. Warm up your grill or pan on the stove by setting it on medium-high heat. You can grill or pan-fry the burger patties until they are done the way you like them. For medium-rare, they usually need four to five minutes on each side. Toast the buns on the grill or in a toaster until they are lightly browned while the burgers are cooking. Take the burgers off the heat and let them rest for one minute. Aside from the toast, put guacamole on the bottom half of every bun. Put a burger patty that has been cooked on top of the guacamole. Put cheese shreds on top of the burger patty. Place a big scoop of salsa on top of the cheese. Put broken up tortilla chips on top of the salsa. If you want, you can add lettuce and tomato slices on top. Last, put the top half of the bun on top of the burger that you just made. Serve your Taco Burgers right away and have fun!
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 10 minutes

It's Taco Smash Burger Tuesday • Using local Tennessee ground beef from Simpson's Meats, seasoned it with Lane's BBQ Fiesta Rub and homemade adobo, grilled on my Traeger Grills Pro 575 using a cast iron griddle sprayed with Duck Fat Spray at 500° with Traeger Brisket Blend Pellets. Smashed the burger balls to a finish with a crispy crust. Covered with crumbles of Cacique Cotija cheese, then onto the bun. Topped with shredded Romaine lettuce, drained red salsa (to reduce bun sogginess), a few dashes of Traeger Smoky Chipotle & Ghost Pepper Hot Sauce, Private Selection Creamy Smoked Jalapeno Sauce, and crispy jalapenos • Juicy, delicious, spicy taco burger scrumptiousness 💪🏻 • @simpsonsmeats @traegergrills @lanesbbq @pvt_selection @duckfatspray @caciquefoods @fresh.gourmet @tnbeef • 🌶️🌮🍔 • #BBQLou #traegeron #traegergrills #traegerhood #traegernation #duckfatspray #tacotuesday #tacoburger #tennessee #lanesbbq #buylocal #tnbeef (at Oak Ridge House of Blues) https://www.instagram.com/p/Chmk67HuY34/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

My home version of my camping taco burger. Mix ground beef with taco seasoning, chopped onion and cilantro (don’t cook the hamburger). In a baking dish put frozen potatoes and black beans with a little salsa. Form meat in patties and lay on top. Pour jar of queso cheese dip over top and sprinkle chopped jalapeño. Bake and enjoy!

This Week’s Expert Picks
don't think about it and you'll be fine, the second book of poems by Torrye LaFlamme aka Queen of Crows is just as good, if not better than her first (I Think I've Been Here Before), because her voice shines stronger in her writing this time round, with raucous confidence coming through in poems about love, loss, and the beauty of life. Her writing and storytelling is so effortless it brings on respectful envy from her contemporaries such as myself. Mark my words, this Queen will reign supreme over the poetry scene one day and I will be there to tell you I told you so, and then I will ask for her autograph. RB
This is a comprehensive history of of four hundred years of Black America as told by ninety of America’s prominent Black writers. Beginning with the arrival of enslaved Ndongo people a year before the eventual arrival of the Mayflower. Chronicling and bringing to life, a history of pain, hardship, segregation, survival, cultural oppression and so much more. This is the type of work to redefine how our history is written and drawing from rich archival assets, providing the framework for African Americans in America.
This book is something. Captivating, heartbreaking, rich knowledge, of the lives of millions of Americans. Though written by over 90 different writers the chapters flow together well, weaving a complex tapestry of the history of African Americans. Much of the years focus on a major theme/topic of the 5 year period in which they are writing. There are so many struggles and difficulties over the course of history that are then accentuated with small victories.
Powerful, important, necessary reading. It’s a work that reminds us, we still have so much work to do. Read further, listen carefully, and continue to grow. The book ends with an essay about Black Lives Matter, just how far they have come, yet still America has an enormous racism problem despite it being 2021. Please read this work, absorb it, talk about it, learn from others their struggle, we can begin to heal as a nation from the horrible atrocities that we committed long ago. Only then, once we’ve accepted this, can we build a community where we treat people of color the same as whites have been treated forever. CJH
I’m learning Spanish right now so I decided to tackle Don Quixote and man, what a hoot.
Basically, this is the tale of this grandiose and somewhat delusional showboater who just kind of goes around getting into shenanigans and his poor sidekick Sancho usually gets the brunt of the crap. Like... the brunt of it.
...and that kind of made me think, is that where they came up with the idea for Sancho’s?
You know.
Sancho’s just off Brady St. near Running Wild?
Like if there is something called a tacoburger on the menu you know you’re in for an evening in the restroom. Like your lower intestines are having the same adventures as Sancho did in this epic novel.
That’s just science.
Anyway.
They say in literature there’s symbolism and allegory and stuff like that and I’m just curious, is Don Quixote the story of Sancho’s in Davenport, Iowa?
That would be so wild. LAW
