My dude is so so so enthusiastic. You mean to tell him that he gets a beautiful loving partner AND a new little guy to hang out with?? Sign him tf up

This man buys your kid so many presents it's genuinely concerning. Your child is spoilt to hell and back by Fukuchi. You need to discourage him from this behaviour STAT

He constantly uses dad words like 'buddy' and 'pal' and 'kiddo' to refer to your kid and they eventually start responding to these nicknames lol

He would totally also do dad stances and just embrace the fatherly aura that is slowly overtaking him day by day (bro starts falling asleep on the couch while the game's on at 9pm)

He's actually surprisingly gentle with your child. If they cry he'll pick them up and comfort them very well. He's like a whole different person when your kid is scared or sad- it's the cutest thing ever

If your child ever gets him a Fathers' Day present he'll probably cry like old man tears of joy. In fact if your child ever does anything nice for him he'll be incredibly touched. Kinda reminds him what he's doing his job for :')

Tells your child great exaggerated (CHILD FRIENDLY) stories about his heroic achievements as a soldier before bed. It's genuinely super cute you guys

If the kid ever runs up to him in excitement when he arrives home in the evening he returns the energy and is like 'omg there they are! that's my kiddo! how have you been??' and picks them up and AUGH they're so cute

Your child is probably scared of him at first. Within their first meeting he probably makes them cry.

Sorry y'all 😭 but he doesn't exactly come off as much of a teddy bear...and nor does he really act like one with anyone else other than you in private

Jouno just isn't good with kids. Not in the sense that he's scared of them but that he doesn't really know how to interact with them without being intimidating or otherwise just detached

But he really loves you, and he wants to be a good parental figure to your kid, so he tries to warm them up to him by getting them a gift. That probably helps- he might not know much about kids but he's right to assume that they fucking love receiving gifts

Whatever your child's hobbies/interests are, Jouno genuinely does try to connect with them over it, and after a while it does work.

Soon enough your child and Jouno are inseparable and your child is spewing sadistic military rhetoric and oh dear god you've made a terrible mistake introducing the two of them

Yeah, Jouno probably teaches your kid all KINDS of horrible things. He will tell your child stories about times he's tortured suspects, or slaughtered gangs, and just stuff that is not family friendly. You have to nip that behaviour in the bud or else...

He's generally pretty good at taking care of your child, but like, if your kid cried because they were scared there was a monster under the bed, Jouno would probably be like "Yeah. There is. Good luck." and then turn off the lights and leave 💀

Just give him time. He'll learn how to be an emotionally available parent at SOME point

Tecchou:

He's not the step dad. He's the dad that stepped up

Tecchou is definitely very aloof and awkward around your child- like, he knows how to interact with you, but children are different. Children are frightening. And they are his biggest fear maybe

In spite of this, he is fiercely protective of your kid. He will make sure that child is as safe and calm as possible at all times, and he certainly prefers to show that he cares through actions rather than words.

He usually wouldn't initiate physical contact with your child but if they hugged him he would hug back, if they gave him a hi-five he would do it back, etc etc. he will never let your kid down

If your child likes make belief, you can bet you'd walk into a room and find your kid all dressed up, off their rocker in full theatre mode, while Tecchou is sitting on the floor, also dressed up, but looking more depressed than ever before

Save him from your baby. They are taking YEARS off his life

He probably accidentally sends your kid to hospital at some point because he cooked for them. Damnit Tecchou, how don't you realise that a child's stomach wouldn't be able to handle a combination of chocolate and beef

It's okay though, he does learn from this. Plus, he takes care of your child and buys them presents and hangs out with them until they're better <3

He might not join your child in the ball pit, but he would watch them swim around in there with the softest, faintest, most affectionate smile on his face. And that is all that matters folks

Teruko (platonic):

The funnest, meanest, coolest auntie ever

Teruko will lead your child down a dreadful path. Limit their visits to holidays and birthdays for your own sake and the sake of your young one

She's really more than happy to negatively influence look after your child if you need her to though, and they love her because she's super chill and lets them get away with all kinds of things (that aren't violent crimes against humanity)

Your parent says one cookie after dinner? Screw it, have six. I won't tell if you won't. - Teruko, probably

She uses her ability to entertain your kid sometimes- usually she'll decrease her age so she can join them in things like building pillow forts and playing on jungle gyms

I'm just picturing them playing at the park and some concerned parent coming up to them asking where their guardian is and Teruko just fucking transforms into a grown woman on the spot and goes 'WHO'S ASKING' 😭

Teruko is a super cool fun aunt. But she is very wise, and she really will give your kid good life advice on occasion.

She'll also cheer them up when they're feeling down, and if they're feeling scared she helps them step out of their comfort zones and confront their fears (in a safe way!!)

If your kid is like, getting picked on at school or something, Teruko will nag you to phone their school about it. If you don't, she does. If they don't do anything about it, she does. Bottom line is NOBODY fucks with your kid when Teruko is around

Tachihara:

Help he's so nervous at first? Tachihara this is a child, not a wise sage- you can be normal around them

He just wants to make a good impression on the child okay he's doing his best

But (obviously) your kid immediately loves him, and thinks he's the coolest guy ever, and wants to hang out with him all the time

Tachihara has a bit of a concern that the kid will think that he's trying to replace their other parent, which is fair, but it's unfounded because your child absolutely adores him and does not care about that at all

If your child ever calls him 'Dad' watch his soul fucking transcend to a new plane, he's so surprised and honoured that this beautiful person's child would consider him their parent

Your kid has Tachihara wrapped around their tiny finger. He will oblige them with anything- if you've got a toddler who likes uppies and piggybacks, say your prayers for Tachihara's upper arm and back muscles because he will carry them for hours

You really need him to stop leaving weaponry around the house, though- the absolute HEART ATTACK you had when you saw your precious baby carrying around an unloaded pistol

Chuuya Nakahara

Becoming a father is one of the best occurrences that has happened to him in his entire fucked-up life. It’s a reminder that he’s a real, breathing human. He’s not a monster—he’s just a dad dealing with a fussy newborn. Megumi was his blessing, given to him by you. Everyone loves a blessing until it comes with the downside of endless cartoons.

He doesn’t think it’s a fair compromise.

Chuuya despises them. The loud over-dramatized voices and sounds mixed with the bright visuals of whatever godforsaken moral it’s supposed to teach his kid. Don’t get him wrong, he does think morals are important, but a seven-month old who regularly to stuff a plushie into her mouth doesn’t understand the Golden Rule. The ONLY upside to the shows is that they entertain her, and she won’t cry if she sees it. And only then can he cook for you or sneak a kiss on your lips with the amazing noise of ‘Kitti the Kat’s World’ in the background.

One day, he’ll get her to watch those wine-making documentaries. That’s a good show right there.

Tachihara Michizou

It’s all Teruko’s fault. He lets her babysit Sou for one day and all of a sudden his son is obsessed with animated shows.

Tachihara doesn’t necessarily care much about the TV until the baby prefers it over him. Like, no? He wants Sou to want to spend time with him and not some fake characters on screen. He’s his father, for Christ’s sake! Not whatever bullshit animal is on the screen. Your baby should care more about you and him—his parents, his protectors, his family. Tachihara’s family had been dysfunctional with neglectful parents and a dead brother. He didn’t want his newfound family to end up the same.

He wants all of his free time to be with you and your child. Sealing that bond is his responsibility besides his duties of being a Hunting Dog. Sou should look up to his dad and be proud. Not look up to some fictional heroes. Tachihara’s a real hero. Someone many people look up to and thank for saving their lives. All he asks for is his family’s love and support.

He loves being a dad—but he hates the way the TV takes his son’s attention away.

🐕‍🦺You were tried. Today, you and Hunting Dogs were having one of your traditional camping trips. Thanks to Teruko's and Fukuchi's training, you have become tougher. Still, you were tried and were thankful, when you finally set up a camp.

After dinner, you go to your tents and fall asleep

You were the last one to woke up. A familiar redhead looked inside the tent. Tachihara looked worried.

"[Y/N], you are awake, good... Listen... My dear Hyacinth... You probably should take a look at that..."

You climbed out of the tent and looked around. Your gaze immediately stopped on the familiar Statue of the Seven, standing on an island in the middle of the lake.

You were in Starfell Valley, on a Cider Lake shore.

The rest of the Hunting Dogs were not only up, but already were in their uniforms. A fire was burning and aromas of porridge and tea were coming from a pot and kettle, that were put above the fire.

"[Y/N], does this place look familiar to you?" Teruko passed a bowl with porridge and a cup full of hot tea to you.

You braced yourself. Explanation will take time.

🐕‍🦺 You tried your best to answer questions about Teyvat. About nations and elements. You answered questions about the game. That nothing strange was happening in your game. No insane luck, no new voice lines, no new menus, no new characters (that weren't announced), no reaction to you talking or petting the screen, no strange emails, no gifts. Genshin Impact looked like absolutely normal game.

After the breakfast was done, Hunting Dogs got the most basic information about Teyvat and were as confused as you were about Teyvat being real.

But you can't get answers just staying in one place. After you collect your belongings (with tent, sleeping bags), Hunting Dogs and you start walking. To Mondstadt.

Just to make sure, that you stayed safe, Fukuchi asked you to walk in the middle of the group, while he was walking before you, Tachihara and Teruko were walking on the sides and Jouno and Tetchou were walking behind you.

Your journey has begun.

🐕‍🦺 Mondstadt greet your group with yelling, Knights of Favonius with their weapons out and a mob who wanted blood.

"HERETIC! IMPOSTER WITH A HERD OF SINFUL CULTISTS!" You didn't know, that Kaeya could yell. Or even use 'heretic' negatively. You could see, how Hunting Dogs slowly drew their swords. In a last attempt to explain yourself and try to resolve the conflict, you carefully put your hand on Fukuchi's arm and stepped before him. Dozens of angry eyes stared at you. You cleared your throat.

"I am not an imposter. My friends aren't cultists! We got lost and just wanted to find a way home... AAA!"

"SILENCE YOUR LIES, CREATURE!"

A small stone hit you on a forehead. The hit was painful, but, thankfully, not strong enough to cause serious damage.

But was strong enough to cause damage to the person, who threw the stone.

🐕‍🦺 You left Mondstadt. With Klee as your guide, you were going to the Dragonspine to find Albedo. And Mondstadt was left with beaten up knights, scared civilians and a new baby, who just an hour ago were an adult, who liked threw stones.

Still, no one in Mondstadt realized, that you weren't an imposter. In their eyes, you became an Imposter with a horde of demons under your command.

After you left, Jean reached to Fatui delegation. Maybe, Harbingers could help to capture you.

Meanwhile, you and Hunting Dogs, together with Albedo, finished planning your next move. You would move from nation to nation, searching for Alice. Albedo promise to keep in touch with her, asking her to either stay as long as she can in one nation, or go to you, if you find a safe place somewhere in Teyvat.

Time to move forward.

🐕‍🦺 After Zhongli's and his adeptis attack on you and Hunting Dogs, you decided to stay away from the city.

Still, the situation wasn't as bad as it can be. You had quite a good number of helpers (you, Jouno and Fukuchi had to make sure, that Tetchou won't try to cook for Xiangling as a 'thank you for help'. You didn't want to get on kind girl's bad side), and, while being accused and hunted was terrible, you had your friends with you.

Right before you decided to move to the next nation, your camp was attacked.

By Fatui.

And by Tartaglia, Eleventh Fatui Harbinger.

⚔️ While Teruko and others were protecting you from Fatui solders, Fukuchi was fighting Childe. Fukuchi has to admit, that Childe was a dangerous enemy and a skillful warrior. Fukuchi knew, that he shouldn't underestimate him. And Fukuchi won't underestimate himself either.

Especially, after Childe transformed into a Foul Legacy.

Childe tried to focus on a battle and ignored that tiny quiet voice, that begged him to stop attacking and believe "Impostor's" words. He must destroy the old man and the rest of your horde and capture you.

Childe raised an eyebrow, when the old man picked up a small stone from the ground. Was he desperate enough to start throwing junk? The old man threw the stone. And hot, white pain filled Childe's senses. His left shoulder, where the stone hit him, was burning with pain. The bone shattered, skin was broken. Transformation was cancelled.

Childe, in his human form, was laying on the ground, howling with pain. Behind Fukuchi, the remaining Fatui soldiers finally surrender. They collect their fellow soldiers and Tartaglia and left you alone.

You hopped, that you won't run in other Harbingers.

🐕‍🦺News about Childe's defeat spread through Teyvat. And almost everyone were terrified of your group. Now, instead of 'Sinner' and 'Heretic' you were greeted with 'Begone, Monsters' and 'By the power of Holy Creator, return to the depth of The Abyss you have crawled from!'.

People were now afraid, but, thankfully, Nahida was helping your group. Staying with Aranaras was fun. For some reason, they start adoring Jouno and Fukuchi, and it became a current occurrence, when they were sitting on the ground, discussing something, and Aranaras were climbing all over them.

Unfortunately, harbingers didn't give up yet.

You didn't know about most of the attempts.

You didn't know about Fukuchi fighting with Pierro and winning.

You didn't know about a bird-like mask in Jouno's bag. About Dottore, who was unfortunate enough to ran into Jouno and Arabalika and demand Hunting Dog to give aranara and you to him.

You didn't know about Arlecchino's and Teruko's quarrel that ended in child Arlecchino on a doorstep of House of the Hearth.

You didn't know about Tachihara destroying Sandrone's robot, when she was searching for you.

You didn't know about Tetchou's fight with Capitano. The moment Tetchou got his grip on Capitano's claymore, he got an advantage over the strongest warrior in Teyvat. Because "controlling a blade that was making loops and barrels" wasn't one of Capitano's abilities. Tetchou was victorious.

But four Harbingers still remain. And Cryo Archon was still here.

🐕‍🦺 When you got a letter from Albedo (through Alhaitham) about Alice whereabouts, and Nahida, thanks to her powers, confirmed it, Hunting Dogs and you left Sumeru and start your trip to Snezhnaya through Fontaine's port.

🐕‍🦺 Unfortunately, the delegation was waiting for you in Fontaine. Tsaritsa, healed Childe, Columbina and Pantalone with Fatui troops were waiting for you.

The battle has begun.

Hunting Dogs tried to keep you away from battle. You followed their plan, until you noticed Pantalone, who was aiming a musket at Tetchou, while he was facing another direction.

You acted fast.

You and Pantalone, both gripping one musket, as a small tornado rushed through the battle. Each of you were trying to get the musket solely to yourself. Your fight were good enough destruction, Fatui's troops were jumping away, trying not to get in your and Pantalone's way.

You growl. You hated being in Teyvat. You hated being afraid for Hunting Dogs life. You missed others. You were tired of Fatui's ambush.

You wanted to go home.

The portal opened under your feet.

🪢🦀🐁 It's been almost a month since you and Hunting Dogs have disappeared. Everyone was looking for you. While Hunting Dogs would never let anything bad happening to you, there is a chance, that you were separated. And the fact, that there were no trails left, made everyone worried. Fyodor and Dazai weren't sleeping. They were discussing, what to do next. And thinking about the ways to make Katai and Higuichi stop to share their "theories" about your disappearance. Because, if Fyodor heard another "[Y/N] and Hunting Dogs get secretly married and then run away from home to who knows where" from Katai, he will do something drastic to Katai. Same story was with Dazai and Higuichi's "They built a bunker under the forest and hid there from aliens, I know for sure!".

Suddenly, they have heard the loud crash coming from the barn.

🐕‍🦺 Sounds were loud enough to wake everyone up. When everyone got to the barn, they saw a bizarre situation.

You were trying to take away a strange gun from a rich-looking guy, while Hunting Dogs tried to get you away from each other.

🐕‍🦺 Pantalone, startled by the appearance of other people, lose his grip. You immediately pull the musket from his grip and hit Pantalone on the head with the butt of a musket. Pantalone, unconscious, fall on the ground. Only then you realized, that you were back.

🐕‍🦺 It would take time to explain everything to others. One thing for sure. You were very grateful, that you and Hunting Dogs were together. You had a feeling, that the Teyvat journey would be much worse, if you were alone.

• Chuuya had first met you at a bar when he was out celebrating with a few subordinates (Higuchi, Tachihara, Gin, Hirotsu & Akutagawa)

• He was sitting on a stool watching from afar as Higuchi & Tachihara began picking up stray microphones to start singing karaoke. Hirotsu & Gin were sitting on the couch beside them as they watch and Akutagawa had already went off to the bathroom to try and escape from the madness.

• Meanwhile, Chuuya sat there from a safe distance and chuckled a little to himself before turning back around to the barkeep, asking for another shot.

• However, he couldn’t help his eyes drift off to the side of him as he notices someone just a few seats away from him keeping their gaze tied down to the high table in front of them, also known as you.

He couldn’t help but linger his gaze on your clearly triggered form for just a few more moments before looking back down at his drink. He didn’t want to seem creepy or invading of your space, but he just can’t help but get up from his seat and cautiously make his way over to you in slow baby steps.

A gentle hand on your shoulder snapped you out of your dissociated state, snapping your head up as fast as a hare would. It had almost startled Chuuya how rather high alert you were. It was almost as if you were always in a fight or flight battle with your brain every-time alarm bells went off. Or atleast, with the way your body language and facial expressions were being read off as, it seemed like it. Chuuya was the first one to speak.

“Hey there, you doing alright? Couldn’t help but notice you looked rather..eh..” He trails off to try and find a word to best describe your current position. “..alarmed..”

He also couldn’t help but notice the way your eyes were as wide as saucers, never resting for one moment as your lips trembled to form words. ‘Wow, you really are a pretty thing.’ He thought, but he quickly battled those thoughts and buried them to the back of his mind quickly as he hears your voice for the first time.

“Yeah. I’m uhm..here with a few friends. It’s their birthday..” You say lowly. The tone in your voice that Chuuya was currently reading ranged from one of uncomfortable to anxious. Although he couldn’t tell which one was right, perhaps it was both.

Chuuya nods in acknowledgement before taking a seat next to you, leaning back and resting his elbows behind him as he watches all the other people in the spacious bar dance or chat, all extroverted it seemed. He turns to look at you and sees how you’re looking around in such a scared like manner.

“..You’re a timid thing, aren’t cha?”

You snap your head again to look at him, seemingly shocked at his sudden voice and accusation. Well, not much of an accusation if it’s true.

“..Maybe..” You start.

He smirks, nodding again and turning his gaze to the crowd again.

“It’s just..-“

“Not your scene?”

“..” You can’t help the slight smile that escapes your lips when you notice how fast he read your mind.

“..Yeah, not my scene..”

He looks over and admires your cute smile for a second, before he asks.

“Wanna take a breather for a while?”

The fact this question was coming from a complete handsome stranger should’ve set off the occasional bells. But for some reason in the first time in forever, nothing rang.

• After taking a breath of fresh air outside paired with a calm and quiet walk, Chuuya had subtly mentioned exchanging numbers.

“If ya ever need to get away from this unfair world, ‘m just a call away if you let me be.”

• And you sure did.

• Chuuya found you absolutely adorable, he never wanted to scare you off at first glance, but you really were such a sweet little thing.

• A few weeks later came around and he eventually gained feelings. I mean how could he not?

• When he asked you out during one of your guys’ walks, you stopped completely.

• Like- stopped functioning, he actually thought you died standing still for a moment.

• When he asked you if you were okay and made sure he wasn’t stepping over any boundaries, you quickly waved him off and said it wasn’t him, you had just never ever expected him to spew that out.

“I just..havent been in a relationship before..”

• He also begins to put in little post it notes with your lunches, giving you sweet words of affirmation and encouragement for you to get through your day.

• When you’re both in public places that are crowded and he can tell from your body language that you’re panicking, he’ll gently guide you away from the mess into a more private area to calm you down.

You and Chuuya were currently out shopping for one of your friends’ baby showers and had wanted to get her precious baby boy some cute clothes. You had asked Chuuya to come with you and without hesitation he said yes. This man would genuinely jump out a moving car for you and it shows.

Chuuya was browsing the selection with a focused look, trying to think what would look best. Meanwhile, your eyes were already preoccupied with the large crowds swarming certain areas.

“Doll, what size did ya say the little one would be?”

When he didn’t hear your voice, concern surrounded him. He peered over his shoulder to see you glancing at all the people who were suddenly swarming the floor. He stood up from his crouched position and came from behind you.

It's been four months since you started dating both Jouno and Tecchou, and things couldn’t be better! The three of you were moving fast. In just over a month, you all decided to take that leap, and live together. Tecchou and Jouno put their apartments up on the market and moved into your humble abode. You all spent every waking moment with one another, and Jouno began to ease up on his strict rules. When two months had passed by, Jouno felt comfortable enough to let Tecchou touch him. In baby steps of course.

Tecchou would occasionally kiss both you and Jouno on the cheek when he left earlier than the rest of you in the morning. Causing poor Jouno to flush greatly. You three would often bathe together and brush each other's hair. You had dinner every single night, it was a tradition at this point. Around the three-month mark, you broke the news to the rest of the Hunting Dogs. They were shocked, to say the least. But the energy around headquarters was so much better now that the three of you were together. So, they accepted it for what it was. You still haven’t gone ‘all the way’ with the two of them. Not because you didn’t want to, no it wasn’t that. But work got busy, and with the whole move, all three of you had your hands full. It was your birthday… and of course, you were out on a job. It had to be a son of a bitch too, you and Tachihara had to fight tooth and nail just to come out victorious. When you both finished wrapping everything up and stating your full report to Fukuchi it was well past six at night. You were crushed, nearly your whole birthday was wasted on some crummy criminals. You felt the tears begin to well up in your eyes as you made your way down the hallway, toward your apartment door. You tried to wipe the tears as you swung the door open, you didn’t want to alarm your two boyfriends who were just past the door. The second you stepped past the threshold, both men were on you.

“Princess, what's the matter? I could hear you crying from all the way down the hall.” Jouno frowned, bringing his hand up to cup your cheek. Wiping away a tear that you must have missed. “Ah, angel… you’re all cut up. Here, let me start you a bath.” Tecchou said softly, bringing his own hand up to grip your arm. Bringing it closer to his face so he could assess the damage. You couldn’t help but sob freely now, you felt overwhelmed. “Sai is right baby, you’re here now. Just let us make the rest of your birthday as special as we can, okay?” Tecchou exclaimed, pulling away from the embrace so he could clasp your hand within his own. He pulled you towards the bathroom as Jouno made his way back to the kitchen. The second you two stepped through the bathroom door, Tecchou began filling up the tub. Making sure to add extra bubble bath today. You sniffled slightly as you tugged your work uniform off, wincing a bit as you grazed a few open cuts. Tecchou whirled his head around at the sound, immediately coming to your aid. “Oh angel, these look painful… here, step in the tub. I’ll wash these out for you.” You nodded, head still hanging low as Tecchou guided you into the water slowly. You sighed as the hot water soothed over your aching muscles. Tecchou grabbed a small washcloth from the cabinet before he made his way back to the tub. He kneeled in front of you, grabbing some body soap as he began to lather up the cloth.

“Thank you for taking care of me like this, Hiro.” He began gliding the soapy towel over your open wounds delicately. Being careful to not hurt you further. “You don’t need to thank me, y/n. I’m your partner, and I hate seeing you cry. Just try to relax, there's still plenty of time to have a great birthday.” He smiled up at you at the end of his sentence. His gorgeous chestnut irises pooling with so much love for you. Your heart swelled, he was right. There was no point in crying right now, you were home now. In the comforting presence of your two loves. You took in a shaky breath before you leaned over the tub. Craning your neck up to capture Tecchou’s lips. He instantly reciprocated, bringing his soapy hands up to hold your waist for support. You stayed like that for a few moments longer before you pulled back. A smile found its way to your features, and Tecchou let out a short sigh of relief. “There's that pretty smile… turn around baby, let me scrub your back.” He whispered out against your lips, and you simply nodded in response. Sinking back into the tub as you obeyed his request.

How did you know I’ve been longing for one of those.” Jouno snickered out, he leaned down to place a kiss on your forehead from within Tecchou’s grasp. “You guys are too much… Hiro, baby, put me down!” You giggled out, swinging your feet slightly from where he held you. He just grinned widely at you, before gently placing you down against the cool tile floor. “Okay, okay. Sai, is dinner ready? I'm starving…” Tecchou groaned out, kissing your cheek hastily as he made his way to the kitchen table. He plopped down in his usual seat as he peered over at the two of you. Jouno had snaked his arms around your waist from where he now stood behind you. Resting his head atop your own as he rubbed his hands over your tummy gently. “Relax, you caveman. It’s ready. Princess, why don’t you take a seat. I'll make you a plate and bring it over, sound good?” Jouno dipped down as he whispered into your ear. You smiled, turning on your heel so you were now face to face with your wonderful boyfriend. You placed a loving kiss on his lips, resting your hands atop his sturdy chest for balance as you rose up to the balls of your feet. “Okay, Giku! Thank you for the food!” He smiled down at you softly. He much preferred to hear you laugh as opposed to hearing your pitiful little sobs. It broke his heart to hear you so upset. You skipped your way over to the table, finding your seat as you took ahold of Tecchou’s hands. Squeezing them softly as you shot him a warm grin.

Eat it as is, or starve.” Jouno smiled eerily sweetly to the other man as he placed the food in front of you both. “Sir yes, Sir...” Jouno walked to the counter, grabbing himself a portion before he made his way back to the table. The first character I fell in love with

It was, like most people in this fandom, Dazai. I still adore his character and think he’s fantastic, but he’s not the reason I continue reading anymore, or at least, not the sole reason.

The character who is my ‘baby’

I honestly don’t have any characters in this particular fandom that trigger that ‘this character is precious, and I will love them and take care of them and never let anything bad happen to them’ response in me.

The character who I do not understand

I find Mori to be really hard for me. I find it difficult to really understand and flesh out his character in my mind, I find him difficult to write, and I find him difficult overall to enjoy even in canon as a character. I’ve even tried reading a translation of Vita Sexualis and researching the author he’s based off of to further try to understand his character and flesh it out, but generally, he’s impossible for me.

The character that I think the show ruined

While not exactly ‘ruined’, I think the manga (and the show, by extension, really could have done so much more with the Guild members, particularly Louisa May Alcott, though I could be very biased there as she is one of my all-time favourite authors, to the point she occupies a large section of the ‘As’ on my bookshelf. I just feel that, in terms of characterization and even character designs, she just fell really, really flat and bland to me.

The most attractive male and female character

I really enjoy androgynous looking characters and Gin is absolutely gorgeous to me, both in her appearance Mafia-wise and in her civilian clothes. I’m going to surprise everyone here by my pick for the most attractive (to me) male characters and admit that both Ango and Tachihara tie for that position! Also admitting fully that I adore Ango and hate how much hate he gets.

The character death that was the worst for me

It’s Odasaku! I feel like, from what we see of him in story and especially after reading Osamu Dazai and the Dark Era, that…well, honestly, I feel like he’s such a compelling, interesting, wonderful character and while I understand that he was never supposed to be a primary character and that the storyline he has and even his death was absolutely necessary for the proper functioning of the story, I feel a little cheated by how many amazing storylines and how many amazing scenes we could have had if only he’d lived. Also, not quite a death, but can we all just admit that Kunikida…that boy is not having a good time lately and while I’m really loving the twists and turns of the story, everything with him is slightly breaking my heart.

The character that is the most like me

I do resonate quite strongly with Kunikida’s character. There’s a lot me I can see in some of his character quirks, beliefs, and mannerisms but I will say that he’s a lot more rigid than I am in some ways.

The character that I just want to be happy

All and none of them, haha. In some way, because I do love every character, I do want them all to reach happy endings or to enjoy good times. But at the same time, while it can come off campy or super silly at times, the world of Bungou Stray Dogs is very noir-ish at times and it’s definitely quite dark and not a world where happy endings are guaranteed and I do also really, really love that aspect to the whole thing and would hate to lose it.

My four favourite characters, past or present

Narrowing it down is so freaking hard!! Ranpo, Lovecraft, Akutagawa, and Chuuya would probably be what I could narrow it down to though.

Again, this was so hard!! Mori was the only one that popped right into my head, and as for the other three, I guess Alcott, Q, Lucy, and Pushkin rate up there for various reasons.

When I get upstairs I hear a humming noise, a soft melody, and giggling.

Naomi.

What is she doing in there?

The shock is so foreign to me. Of course, she's in there. She's always in my room, I never lock the door. I always let her in. Why am I so scared suddenly, there's nothing incriminating in there, so why do I want her gone so bad?

She turns when I enter . . . my tablet is in her hand, the messaging app open. I freeze.

My panic increases 10 fold. "I said Go away. Just stop! Go away. Go away . . ." when she makes no move and the ringing stops, signaling an answer, something changes, like a switch has just been flipped. "GO AWAY!!!"

She does. But she doesn't walk out she . . . disappears. Like evaporation, or a fading hologram from Star Trek, or a vanishing patronus from Harry Potter. Gone, just gone. I blink, vision tunneling. I can see the phone on the floor, the screen cracked. Marred forever after being kept carefully for so long. The tears come quickly, taking out what remains of my vision. 

I think Mum is yelling for me from the other end of the line, but all I can hear is the thump when I hit the floor.

I wake up to Mum's worried face over me.

"Juni! Juni wake up, wake up baby please."

I sit up, sore, from the fall I think. "M-mum? What time is it?"

"Oh, never mind that, what happened? I came as quickly as I could."

I still don't know, all I see is Naomi fading away, a shower of green sparks that almost resembled . . . snow.

"I don't know." It's only half a lie, but still, it leaves a sick-ish feeling in my stomach. I've never lied to Mum before. But I can hardly tell her what I think happened, what I would swear on my life happened, she'd have me sent to the hospital for sudden onset schizophraenia. I can't tell her because there's no possible way it's true. I must've dreamed it all up, which leaves only one other possibility, and I'm not sure which one is scarier. 

Either I dreamt the whole thing with new neighbours to Naomi disappearing up, or I have a fever.

"Did you fall? Where's your sister, where's Naomi?"

Gone.

"I don't know."

She shakes her head. I know I can't tell her that I don't know again. She needs answers or she'll spiral into anxiety. I need to get in front of this before Naomi tells her (I say as if Naomi is still here, because of course, she is, anything else is impossible).

I stare at the window, trying to figure out what to say, to bend the truth around the facts in a way that won't make me look insane. I try to see Tachihara's house, but I'm at a bad angle from my place on the floor and can barely see over the window sill.

Is it better she thinks I'm sick than crazy?

"I-I remember feeling lightheaded, and then my vision going and I woke up on the floor just now."

"Oh, honey. It must be too hot in here, I'll turn the air-con on. It's almost summer isn't it?"

Was that the wrong thing to say? I see her going into panic mode, pretending that it was the climate even though I'm always cold to avoid the fact that for the first time in my life I could actually be sick. I've never been sick before, how would I know if I was? Is this what it feels like?

"Mum, I'm alright, I just didn't get enough sleep last night. I was tired so I went back to bed and was disoriented when I got up, that's why I fell."

I can't tell if she believes me, I know she wants to. Have I always lied so easily? I don't think so. This thought makes me even sicker to my stomach.

I'm getting dizzy again, can barely make out what Mum's saying. "If you're not sleeping well, you might be . . . I'm sure you're fine, honey. I'll just take your temperature, just to make sure." 

She doesn't sound sure, and her sad smile is the last thing I see before I empty the minimal contents of my stomach onto the floor. I skipped breakfast in favour of more watching out the window, thinking the neighbours would have to appear sometimes and I was right (was I?). Mum definitely noticed, a seemingly harmless action at the time, it now only adds to her worry.

I don't see her face, but she must be shocked because she gasps. I keep my eyes closed as she puts the thermometer in my ear. I don't what it reads, but she sucks in a breath.

"Only half a degree. There could be lots of reasons for that. He's fine, he's fine, he's fine." she mutters to herself, then louder, "Come on, honey, let's get you cleaned up."

I let her pull me up, into the bathroom and clean my face with a wet cloth like I'm seven instead of 17.

I'm so exhausted that I don't mind being tucked into bed. I imagine Naomi is in her room right where she's supposed to be (because why wouldn't she be, right?) so I can fall asleep without throwing up again. Mum stays home with me, waking me gently every 5 minutes to check my vitals. I'm glad for it though, that she cares so much for me, and that I don't get into a deep sleep and start to dream of Naomi again.

In my light sleep, I can still hear Mum pacing around the house. Is she looking for Naomi, I hope to god she finds her. (Of course she will.)

Mum stays with me for the next two weeks moving from checking my vitals every 5 minutes to every 10 minutes, and so on until it's every hour again, like normal. I try to pretend anything can be normal after that. I want it to be, but it's more trouble than I would've thought. 

Naomi hasn't left my side either. Mum told me she found her sobbing in the attic a bit after I went to bed.

With all the attention I don't get to text Tachihara again after making sure to delete the thread before Mum can see it. I don't even get to check if he's texted me, which is probably a good thing.
