Shine Your Way!

Happy Bi Day !! I know earlier I said I wasn't sure that I'd be able to make something for today, but then I had a relatively simple idea come to mind and wanted to take advantage of it :3

I wanted to draw Starburst for a number of reasons here haha. Mainly, she's the main sona I use to express the biromantic half of my labels, and also bc it feels like forever since I last drew her lol. The last time I gave her a full drawing was back in June, so it was nice to bring her back to the spotlight :3

It was also nice to draw some pride art again bc it's also been a long time since I did some of that! I didn't do very much of it during pride month earlier this year, so again, it felt like it had been a really long time since I did a price-centric piece.

I've gone into what my biromantic label means to me in the past, so I won't go through all of that again here, but just know it's something that brings me a lot of comfort <33

Hair Tie

(Because I couldn't think of a better name for this sequence lol)

I'd mentioned wanting to draw Luau reacting to seeing Seabreeze with her hair down for the first time a week or two ago, and when I said last night that I had just finished drawing something "very, very cute :3" it was referring to this hehe.

This would be like, not long after Luau and Seabreeze met, since Seabreeze doesn't usually like having her hair down in public, she only takes her hair out of her ponytail at home. She also doesn't generally like other people touching her hair, but once they get together, she lets Luau touch it and sometimes put flowers in it <33

I am soo happy with Luau's face at the end here, that's pretty much the whole reason I wanted to make this haha. As you guys have seen, I have been thinking about Seabreeze a lot lately, so it was fun getting to draw and develop her more! I definitely need to draw Luau and Seabreeze together more as well since this is rlly only the second time I've made something like this despite having Seabreeze for over a year at this point lol

We are also ignoring the fact that Seabreeze would not have that much hair if her ponytail in the first part was as big as it's shown to be, I just wanted an excuse to draw Big Flowy Hair lol

Birthday gift for @xxthunderthedragonxx !!! I have wanted to draw this beast so bad for MONTHS and this gave me an excuse to not have to wait for Art Fight to do it :3 I think I've mentioned this before but Banana Bread is prob my fav character of urs, with Splash being a VERY close second hehe

Being part Space Shuttle means Tarmac’s dark markings absorb the heat of re-entry into the atmosphere from space so he doesn’t get hurt, but the experience does make him a bit, uh, jittery

Midnight Flight

Okay so yknow how I said the other night how I was thinking abt making Tarmac's pads be able to light up like aircraft ID lights at night? Well I decided to run with that lol (plus the star on his vertical stabilizer hehe)

I am SO HAPPY with how this came out!! It was my first time shading anything legitimately in like,, three and a half years I think(??) so forgive me if it doesn't make much sense lighting-logic-wise </3 I love how the vibe came out tho and I very much appreciate FireAlpaca's gif making feature lol

Last Blast of Summer!

Seabreeze, Luau and Soda have one last beach day in before the summer comes to a close!

I'd mentioned that Luau and Seabreeze would be friends with Soda before I think, given how they all share a love for water/the beach, so I wanted to finally make something with that idea! I thought of that thing you sometimes see surfers do where they run towards the water with their surfboard held above their head like this. Of course, it started off as just a Seabreeze idea but then it evolved to include Luau and I swapped out the surfboard for Soda :3

It was great to draw Soda again! I hadn't drawn him since before Art Fight and he's been in my brain a lot again lately bc I love him so much <33 This also helped me to flesh out sort of, how big I want him to be I guess lmao. I've drawn him smaller than both Luau and Seabreeze in my Seafoam vs Stardust pre-Art Fight piece, but I'll probably just make it official that he can like, scale up and down in terms of size depending on what he wants to do and who wants to float on/with him hehe. Which to be fair is an idea I've been toying with (aheehee) for awhile now, so maybe this is just the first depiction of that :3

Art Fight 2024 - Round 13!

Pool party!! I decided yesterday was Pooltoy OC Day, since I've been wanting to practice drawing these kinds of characters and I'd bookmarked some pooltoy OCs I really liked. These were a lot of fun!

With these, I have officially beaten my all time Art Fight record for the most attacks I've ever done in a year! Up to 38! I'm also approaching 150 total attacks, which I have a big idea for that one hehe :3

Our Nighttime Doesn't Sing Like This

My first of what will undoubtedly be many pieces to commemorate TaClem Week 2024, where @macaronichewtoyz visited me irl for the first time, staying with me for a little over a week. This was one of my favorite moments, just standing in my front yard at night, listening to the cicadas and the katydids with the stars overhead, with Clem then saying out loud what became the title of this piece <3 It was a fairly quick moment, but it's one that really sticks out to me as a highlight. There are a lot of moments from this whole trip that I fully intend on making into drawings, but those will come later as either a christmas or birthday gift hehe. I've dumped a lot of my more sappy thoughts into other posts and stuff, but you know how much this visit as a whole meant to me. And even though the fireflies weren't as plentiful at this point as they were earlier in the summer, I wanted to include them here. Next time you come down, we can have it be during a time when they're REALLY out in full force <33

Art Fight 2024 - Round 19!

The last blast of Art Fight!! 57 attacks done in the span of three weeks, I am SHOCKED that I was able to do as much as I have! And honestly, I could keep going lmao. But Clem is arriving today and staying for the week!! I’m actually waiting in the airport as I write this hehe. But let’s see who we’ve got in the last blast of Art Fight club!

Superstar Surfer!

HAPPY SEABREEZE DAY !!! Today is Seabreeze's birthday, marking one year since I first made her!! I've always really liked her, but over like the last four months or so, she has REALLY shot up my list of favorite OCs <33 I'm not sure what exactly changed abt what I do with her, or if it was just me finally realizing how cool of a character she actually is, but since like February, I've grown more and more fond of her hehe.

Of course, the reason I originally made her was to give Luau a girlfriend, and she more than nailed that particular role lol. I specifically designed her to have her orange/coral color to complement Luau's bright blue design and incorporated a lot of seaside/ocean notes and motifs too. The blue on her legs is meant to look like waves rolling up on the beach, the stripes on her back are meant to look like a fish skeleton and of course, you'll always see her with her lucky seashell necklace!

In addition to being designed to be Luau's gf, she was also almost entirely inspired by the song Learn How to Surf by Owl City! That's one of my favorite songs off of Coco Moon, and it gives me such bad Mental AMV Of My OCs Disease any time I listen to it lmao

Anyways, happy birthday Seabreeze !! Hopefully I can draw her, both on her own and with Luau, a lot more this coming year! And I hope she has a good showing on Art Fight this year *hint hint* :3
