What do you think season 3 will look like?

Will Lestat write his book himself?

Or have Daniel interviewing him to give the show a sense of structural continuity? (This could also be used as an excuse to keep Louis in the scenes happening in the present as we see how he reacts to Lestat's story)

Or something else entirely? I can see Lestat having a YouTube channel or streaming on Twitch, ranting on Twitter, doing TikTok dances, etc along with his music career because he loves attention so much but I'm not sure if I can picture Marius with a smartphone, showing the parents Lestat's Instagram feed

Mhhhh. I would prefer it if Louis was present for Lestat giving his POV I have to say… Like he did it for Louis. Louis should be there, however, I can also see them using something else to build the fame and the basic lore “release“ (as an echo to the canon music videos).

I would totally love it if Daniel was involved, and my absolutely biggest wish would be Lestat, Louis, Armand and Gabrielle on that couch, all chiming in and bitching at each other. :)))

We‘ll see. But whatever way they build it, it better have an album of songs sung by Sam and an up-close of Louis‘ reactions attached to it :))) We deserve that^^

Would love to see how you draw Whistlepaw!

A lovely Whistlepaw! As a WindClan enjoyer, I of course loved her from the second she appeared on the page, her and her siblings of the very pretty names. Hopefully her swirly tabbyness looks good, I used a reference photo for fur patterns for once just for her. I tried to add stripes on her cheeks to look like whistles but idk how well that turned out. I added her open eye (with her very last second white eyeshadow I actually really love) off to the side and the colors on the other side for myself to use as reference, and couldn't be bothered removing them for posting.

Nebula had never been good with children. She actually never had to interact with them, not since she had grown out of that irritating phase of helplessness herself. The only example on how to deal with kids was – her own childhood. And even she knew that that was not a proper example of how to deal with kids. And while she never wanted children of her own, she had vowed that if she ever came close to one so defenseless, she would... she would be better. Better than Thanos, better than what Nebula had gone through as a child. She would be... good.

Yet even with that deeply seated in her mind, she had never truly believed a child could ever... like her. Just, genuinely like her. Not fear her, that had been the great hope, but...

“Auntie Nebu! Auntie Nebu, look!”, exclaimed Morgan Stark excitedly.

She was holding up a picture. A crude drawing of two small two-dimensional figures, one was blue and the other was far smaller and with brown hair on her head and a red dress on. The two figures stood amid odd creatures, structures really. Nebula tilted her head.

“It's you and me and Dum-E and Butterfingers and U!”, explained Morgan when Nebula took too long to recognize it. “It's all of us, while we were waiting for daddy to be released from the hospital. I'm glad you watched over me while he was not good.”

Tony had taken her in, after they had been brought to Earth by Carol Danvers. She had lived with him for months, before they had started going on missions off-world. Even then, she got to live with him whenever she stayed on Earth. She had spent a lot of time with Morgan in those five years. And not just Morgan. The three robotic children of Stark too.

Nebula blinked and took the picture from Morgan. “It is exceptional. We will hang it up.”

She turned to show the picture to the robots. They... impressed her. They were pure technology, not like her, nothing biological, and yet they were so very human. They had feelings and expressed them, they had personality – they communicated. Tony, he had figured out how to decipher their chirping and Nebula, far more in tune with electronics, had learned their language too.

“They also like it a lot”, assured Nebula as Morgan kept leaning more and more forward.

There was a faint smile on Nebula's face at the happy eagerness now on Morgan's face. She had put that there. She had learned to be kind and soft with the human child to the point that Morgan not just not feared her – Morgan... had repeatedly over the years expressed that she loved Nebula. The first time, it had been too much for Nebula and she had run to deal with her emotions. When Tony had found her, he had hugged her and told her that it was okay. That sometimes, you are not born into the right family, sometimes you're not raised by the right family, sometimes you only find your real family when you're already an adult. He had told her that she had a spot with his family.

“Here seems to be a good place, mh?”, asked Nebula as she pinned the picture between one of Morgan with her dad, mom and Happy Hogan and another picture that Morgan had drawn of her new two brothers, Peter and Harley. Morgan nodded very pleased at that before she launched into hugging Nebula. The cyborg easily caught the small child and held her.

“I love you, auntie Nebu”, declared Morgan happily. “Can you tell me more stories about what you and Gamora did? All your space-adventures!”

The first time Nebula had done so, Pepper Potts had turned very white. Over the past years, Nebula had mastered the art of censoring her words to make them appropriate for the child. She left out all the worst bits, the bits she wished she had never experienced. What was left was not the truth, but it made Morgan smile and it made Nebula smile, because it made Nebula remember the good she once had with her dead sister. Sitting down among the bots, Nebula pulled Morgan onto her lap.

“One time, my sister did something horrendously stupid by joining a big, human oaf and his band of space-pirates...”, started Nebula, looking at the child watching her very closely and eagerly.

Shoot, I started writing a response to this before I went back to work and came home to find that it ate itself or something! Boo! 

Okay: 24: Favourite scene I’ve ever written. Oh God, that’s hard!!!! Can I name a couple? Let’s assume you’re saying yes. Hehe. Um. The kiss in the bathroom in Vena Cava. The angst-ridden scene in Scars when Sherlock finds out the full extent of what happened to John. The scene when John comes over in The Impossible Word, and also the awkward dinner scene in the same story. Sherlock’s letter in Love Is. The first kiss in A Case for Domestic Propinquity. The big final scene in The Wisteria Tree. Gah! I have 73 fics, all with multiple scnes! This is hard!!! 

35: Hmm - okay. While I do occasionally love diving into the months-long process and world-building of novel-length story, I really excel at long novellas, anywhere from 25K-60K. Usually if I post it all in a single chapter, the intent (which I obviously have zero control over, but one can try, lol) is for it to be read all at once. If it’s split into chapters, there’s meant to be a feeling of a greater divide between the sections, even if the reader is reading straight through. I don’t know if that makes any sense, but yet. It’s just the odd style I’ve developed over the years. :) Novella! Although several of my “novellas” qualify as novels, depending on which definitions you’re reading, heh.

@bluehairandproverbs: I was just thinking that love the idea of Pandora caring for Daniel with Marius too! Given what was going on with her at the end of QoTD, she might have some personal insight into what's going on with Daniel... @tabbye I'm thinking maybe the accusations of Armand abandoning "everyone" and abandoning Daniel are a reference to his suicide attempt? Does Daniel maybe think he is not talking with the real Armand (because he is convinced Armand died) and the person in front of him is either Armand's ghost or something his crazy mind made up? And if it's the second one how often does Daniel hallucinates Armand that he is so casual about it? 😭 OP desertfangs bluehairandproverbs Yes, I would have loved to see Pandora there. She definitely might be able to understand him better and really advocate for him more, even. I also just like her being around more. OP desertfangs tabbye I was wondering if he was referring to that too, but then Daniel goes off about he wasn't what Armand wanted or thought he should be, so it's not really clear. Maybe that is what he meant and Daniel misunderstood. Or Daniel thinks he's dead an it's a trick, which is far more interesting really! (If he's hallucinating, ooh boy!)

I NEED YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE ARMAND/DANIEL BREAK UP SCENE IN TVA PLS

Not gonna lie, I would’ve loved for a more polished version of this to have made it into the book, the potential is there IMO as well as all the elements that make Devil’s Minion such an explosive, intense, compelling ship. The fighting, the yearning, the weird sexual analogies (this one didn’t quite land but it kinda always goes back to sex with them, doesn’t it?), the kissing in between hurtful statements. Daniel using INSECT parts for his models, Pandora trying to make him pay attention to Armand, Armand being sad and kissing Daniel while trying to fix things, but Daniel being too far gone at the time to even register the impact of his words. I NEED MORE.

Anon, I have so many thoughts, my brain is spinning.

I'm not sure I'd want this in the book or not, it's so hard to say now. I was absolutely baffled by Daniel's lack of inclusion in TVA when it came out, and and then suddenly he's there in B&G mad and being cared for by Marius, and I had to do a lot of mental gymnastics to figure out how I thought he got from A to B. I eventually decided him thinking Armand was dead drove him mad, which made the most sense to me. That is clearly is not what Anne had pictured, but at this point I'm honestly pretty happy with that conclusion instead.

I'm trying to imagine how it would have felt if this was included in TVA. What else does that change? Is Armand still bitter and angry? Is he more regretful? Does this mean we get any of his POV of the Devil's Minion years, including their break up? (Because that is the piece I feel is most missing from that book and what I deeply wanted from it in addition to filling in Armand's background.)

The idea that Armand abandoned the island to mortal hands--a reference to him selling it, I guess--would absolutely break Daniel apart. It does feel very much like something he would be devastated by but I don't feel we're given enough on this one page to really understand what happened. Armand left the others? That doesn't gel with anything I've ever thought. Armand always struck me as the one who was holding things together and was then heartbroken when everyone else left. So I'd need a more context into Anne's idea of how things played out there.

That said, there are pieces I like!

I love the idea of Pandora and Marius looking after Daniel together and Pandora trying to get his attention.

"I have no maker!" I mean, if Daniel and Armand had a vicious fight and Armand all about renounced him and left him wandering to the point where the loneliness and devastation of it drove him mad, then this is absolutely something I can see him saying. The way he talks about how Armand doesn't make others so clearly he has no maker is so full of bitterness and resentment I would love to see a fic unpacking that (Someone should write it! Maybe several someones!)

Daniel building his worlds with found objects and weird shit is amazing. Like it's so deeply unhinged that I can't help but applaud the creativity. I honestly wish I'd known about this months ago because I can totally see this happening as Daniel sinks into madness and I would have loved to have added a scene to my fic about that where Daniel is building a little town on the floor of some seedy motel with bugs and matchbooks and rubber bands or something. It's delightfully freaking weird and I dig it.

I love Armand asking after Daniel, which is another thing I think was sorely missing from TVA. The fact that he doesn't seem to care where he is just explained by his assumption Daniel hates him, but it still feels exceptionally weird to me that Armand wouldn't even ask, particularly after he almost died, and he doesn't know if Daniel may have tried to follow suit? This whole big thing just happened and Lestat is catatonic on the floor, I'd be accounting for my loved ones, no matter how we left things.

Armand losing all his anger and bitterness (does he have that in this version? He must have some, right?) when he sees Daniel in a bad state, clearly struggling, and offering him comfort is so precious. But also can we talk about "I didn't mean to abandon you..." ????? Armand ABANDONED Daniel in this version??? I just... that's so wild, I have so many questions. And then he kisses him??? That is precious. Look, I have wanted an Armand and Daniel interaction during his madness since we learned Daniel was in Marius' basement playing with model trains in Blood and Gold. And I think I would have been okay with this if we got some satisfying resolution between them afterward - we can have this hurt, but we need some comfort to end it on, you know? And I don't think that would have happened. I think Armand would have left defeated and we'd have been stuck with that in our heads for decades until PL came out and we get one freaking line about them hunting together, so.

I think I am glad this version did not make it into TVA, but I would also love to read a dozen fics that try to make sense of all this because there are some delicious tidbits I think talented fic writers could explore and really work into something great.

4. Non straight main character I am here for bi!Harry. 

5. There’s actually a lot but it’s more like ‘wholesale rewrite of the entire thing’ which gets too long and changes things completely so I’ll just put ‘I’d like to have seen more of the immediate aftermath of the war’ there

IDK the wording seems very intentional, why not say "you should fear Louis" if that's what they meant? No way they don't know Louis name

October 23rd - I was riding to work when I met a gorgeous little lady with a happy, proud brush of a tail. Trotting though The Butts, she meowed at me as I was answering a text and then hurried towards me, greedily accepting chin and ear tickles and nose boops. 

Circling me and begging for more fuss, she was hard to photograph, but happily pottered off when she could see I needed to continue my journey.

We’d like to Introduce H.I.A.T.U.S. a monthly Johnlock writing challenge blog.

After the lackluster BBC Sherlock Series 4 we received from TPTB, we wanted to create a way to encourage Johnlockers to keep creating amazing Sherlock fan work!

Our goal is to create a space that promotes community among Johnlock fanfic writers and their audiences through interaction and feedback. H.I.A.T.U.S. aims to be a fun place for readers and a safe space for aspiring writers to explore, make friends, find a project, and promote their work to a wider audience.

Every month we will run writing theme challenges, everyone is welcome to join in! Any submissions received will be posted to the blog during that month. If you’re interested in finding out more, please check out our submission guidelines.

We’re also in the process of creating a Johnlock Fic Masterlist of fanfiction written by our brilliant fan community! This list will be broken up into categories so it’s easy to find whatever story you’re looking for. If you have a fic that’s 25,000 words or less that you think is fantastic let us know by sending us a link through our ask box.

Five Things You’ll Find In My Bag: Hmm. About five kajillion dry erase markers (ESL instructor!), a pitch pipe (choir conductor!), lipstick, bus pass, phone charger (because my phone battery is weaker than Mary Morstan’s conscience and also because I’m completely, utterly OCD about it dying. I start getting anxiety basically the moment it goes from 100% to 99%, lol)

Five Things I Want To Do With My Life: Get my novel published (ugh, query letters, ugh), travel more, meet the love of my life, whoever he or she is, discover how to make dogs immortal, learn to fly independently (as in sans avion). 

Five Things I’m Into Right Now: Benedict Cumberbatch (always always always), writing series 4 fix-its, passionate anti-Trump political rants (mostly aired on fb), Meyer lemons, forcing my students to play Scattergories just because I like playing it. 

Five Things On My To-Do-List: Start sending out query letters about my novel, finish selecting Good Friday music for my choir, put my laundry away, redo my nails, get up and make dinner once I’m finished writing this post. 

Five Things People May Not Know About Me:  

My parents were born in Canada, but no one before that. My roots are all in Europe. My great-grandfather, depending whether you believe the things my father’s father said while he was rather senile, may have been a Roma gypsy who lived outdoors until the age of 17 when he ran away to Germany to live inside like other people. The other side is Irish. Lol. 

I once had an epic four-flight trip to Boston (home city to Toronto, Toronto to Montréal, Montréal to Philadelphia, Philadelphia to Boston) in which two of the landings were classified as crashes. The one in Boston was expected to happen in the water, on January 2nd, in the harbour. There was a blizzard and every airport in the northeast had already closed. They made us take off our shoes and put our life jackets on, and were using the language of “when the plane hits the water” rather than “in the unlikely event that we do crash...” People cried. The pilot managed to land on the runway, and although it was extremely rough (ambulances were already on stand-by and a couple of people broke bones, etc), I basically walked away without a scratch. I was bumped and bruised, but that’s all. The airport staff had all stuck around to wait for our flight to come in, and when we walked into the terminal, everyone clapped and cried. I bawled. And then, two days later, I took a six-seat cessna back to Plattsburgh, New York, and took the bus from there back to Montréal, where I was living at the time. Which was the smoothest flight of them all, despite my apprehensions about them stowing my suitcase in the actual WING. I was like, that... doesn’t seem like a good idea, but what do I know? Lol. 

I once made lunch for Richard Gere while working in a restaurant. I didn’t get to meet him (the owners did) but I could see him from the kitchen. I surreptitiously called my mom, who is a big RG fan, and she managed to be eating there at the same time as him. 

I have two major phobias. One is relatively common (those things with eight legs which must not be named), and one truly strange one. I like to swim, but never in the wall lane, because I’m terrified of those big, black underwater vents that like, detach themselves from the wall while you’re swimming past and swim at you with intentions to devour you whole. 

I’ve been a nail biter since I was a small child. I wear nail polish every day to attempt to control it. It works sometimes.
