last forever [12/13]
Summary: Zoro only offered to marry you to keep you out of an arranged marriage with a man much older than you. You agreed with the caveat of ending it via annulment once you received word from your parents regarding the original engagement, despite your growing feelings for your close friend.
Pairing: Zoro x Fem!reader, mentioned Sanami later (like epilogue later so chill)
Warnings: Marriage of Convenience, Romance, Fluff, Confessions, Implied Sex
Note: The next to last chapter!! This was originally going to be the ending, but I changed it a little bit. The next chapter is the official ending with a small epilogue at the end!

When you finally hear that Zoro and Luffy have woken up, you're still on the other side of the building with Sanji. Chopper comes running in to tell you both, and your eyes light up so quickly that when you look at Sanji, he's already smiling at you as you grin.
“Better go hug that husband of yours.”
You don't have to be told twice and you're running down the hall with Chopper, him holding one of your hands in his hoof while you use your other to keep the skirt of your kimono up so you don't trip. No need to see Zoro with a bloody nose, he'll think you're spending too much time with Sanji.
When you get to the room and Chopper throws the door open, he lets go of your hand and hurries to Luffy, while you catch your breath and watch the two, making up for lost time on their eating and drinking, of course. If you hadn't been so stressed and worried the last few days, you'd be laughing at them. When Luffy notices you, he says your name with a grin that makes you smile back at him, before you look over to Zoro and feel like you're about to start crying.
He's alive. Once again, he's pulled himself from the edge of death and come back to you. When he finally sees you, Zoro nods you over to him, pulling you to his side with an arm around your shoulders once you do reach him. You return the hug and bury your face in his chest, forcing yourself not to cry out of the happiness you feel right now.
You're alive. Thank God, I was so scared.
Almost as if he can read your mind, Zoro leans his head down towards yours, briefly brushing his lips against your head before whispering, “Everything's fine. We're okay.”
You nod a bit, pulling away to look up at him with a smile. You're just so glad he's all right, that he made it out of his fight against King mostly unscathed. Zoro moves his hand to your forehead, tapping the bandage for a second, before placing his hand on your back.
“What's this bandage about?”
“Oh,” you barely touch the bandage on your forehead, having forgotten all about it in your hurry to see Zoro, “A stray knife grazed me. Chopper says I'll be fine, no scarring.”
“Hope you cut the guy down.”
You nod, giving him a slight smirk. “Of course I did.”
“Yeah?” Zoro returns your smirk, pulling you closer to him, “Atta girl.”
That's my wife, I'm proud of you.
Zoro wants to say that aloud to you, but there's too many people around, and he hasn't been able to take you aside to tell you to get rid of those divorce papers, to forget about your parents and how your marriage came about, to just stay with him.
He's back to drinking sake a moment later, but keeps you right next to him, even as Hiyori speaks up about how she'd help keep him (and Luffy of course) clean while they recovered. It makes your heart ache a bit, despite Sanji's reassuring you earlier, but Zoro doesn't say anything about it and keeps his arm around your shoulders, wanting you to stay there. Hiyori wasn't trying to upset you, you both knew that since she didn't know your relationship, but it stung a bit to know she was here when Zoro woke up while you'd been elsewhere.
He doesn't care, he cares that you're here now, safe and alive in his arms. Honestly, a few times he was worried for you during the raid, during the battles. Not knowing exactly where you were or how you were faring, until he started his battle against King, you were in the back of his mind. Even when that battle started, his mind would drift to you and silent hopes that you were safe.
Thankfully you were, and he knows you're more worried about him, just from how you hold onto him and don't look at anyone else, not even when Luffy and Chopper try talking to you.
“Hey, I need some help if anyone's free!”
Sanji interrupts a bit later, mostly expecting some of the guys to help, but you gently push yourself from Zoro and give him a smile when he looks at you.
“I'm going to go help Sanji.”
Zoro scowls for a second, making you laugh at his face.
“Curly brow can handle whatever it is,” Zoro pulls you back to him, kissing your temple briefly before letting you go, “but if you want to help him you can go.”
Smiling again, you nod before leaning up and kissing his cheek. “Thank you, husband.”
You don't miss the slightest blush on his face while you stand up, Zoro holding your wrist for a moment longer before speaking again.
“When we set sail…I want to talk to you alone, all right?”
Worry starts to take over your heart and head, but you do your best to hide it with a nod, going to follow Sanji and whoever else volunteered to help him. You fear Zoro is going to push you to sign the divorce papers, that despite how sweet he's been lately, it's all an act and he's going to end your sham marriage. It's what you've worried about ever since your crew's reunion in Sabaody. Even after the night you spent together recently, it still was in the back of your mind that he could choose to end your marriage.
While helping Sanji does distract you from your worry, there's still a small voice in the back of your head telling you that he doesn't love you, he must love Hiyori, that's all it is. He's going to end it there and that will be it.
You shake your head, forcing that voice to go away so you could continue helping.
Nothing you could do now except wait until you all board Sunny to leave again, and have your talk with Zoro.
Please don't end this….
+!+
“So, do you have feelings for her?”
Hiyori's question almost comes out of left field for Zoro, who simply finishes his drink and sets the bottle down, not making eye contact. You've gone off somewhere with Nami and some of the children to play games, which is probably why Hiyori chose to speak to him now, while you weren't around. It might make things easier for her to get some answers from him.
He has one, an answer, of course. He's known for a while now his feelings for you, how far they went and what he wants. It feels weird to think about telling Hiyori this, he can tell she has feelings for him too, but, he's pretty sure she already knows, even without having to ask.
“Your crewmate…the girl always hanging around you, um, [Y/N]?”
“Yeah, I know who you're talking about.”
“Is she truly your wife?”
Zoro nods, making Hiyori's shoulders slump a bit. She's heard Sanji call you “moss head's wife” once or twice or maybe several times to a few of the other Samurai, she believes on purpose whenever she was within earshot. Despite seeing you slap his arm and smile, saying you and Zoro were just really close, Hiyori could always see something like sadness behind your eyes and smile.
Truthfully, she wondered if it was unrequited love, that you loved him but Zoro didn't love you back. That's why she felt the need to ask before you all take off in the next couple of days.
“We didn't get married cause we were in love, if you're wondering.”
“Oh?” For a second she perks up, hearing that she now wonders if it was an arranged marriage, and that you two didn't have any feelings for each other. That would make sense, Hiyori thinks, until Zoro speaks again.
“I was keeping her from being sent home to an arranged marriage. Well…forced home, I guess,” Zoro doesn't even question where Hiyori got the bottle of sake she gave him, but he does thank her for it, “Thought after a few months we'd annul and move on with our lives. Didn't actually think we'd fall for each other.”
Her shoulders drop again, but Hiyori smiles anyway. There's something in the way Zoro speaks about you, as he tells her your story of how you two came to know each other, when you said you love him, and how he's come to feel the same way, after believing it would never happen to someone like him. It sounds like happiness, she realizes, recognizing it from what she remembers of her mother speaking about her father. Happiness and true love, it sounds like.
After a bit, Hiyori nods, still smiling.
“You love her.”
Zoro's quiet for a moment, before he simply nods. He's known this for a long time now, it's just been difficult to get alone time with you to tell you his feelings for you, despite how that sounded lame to him and something Sanji would say, despite your night together. He does hate that he never told you before that happened.
It's interesting how it feels to admit that, though, even with just a nod. To admit he loves you, when he was so sure love wasn't for him, that it would never find him and if it did, at one point he wanted to wipe his hands of it.
But you.
Of course, it would be you.
How you have changed things. You've convinced him that love isn't that bad, that yes, it's even for him, the self proclaimed king of hell. The once Pirate Hunter turned pirate himself, future greatest swordsman in the world. You've got him wrapped around your finger, got him thinking about what life after becoming the world's greatest swordsman and helping Luffy become King of the Pirates would be like. He's had thoughts more recently of you two settling down in his home village perhaps, maybe having a few brats of your own and living your life together.
It was crazy to him, to think about it, and know where he's come from with not knowing a real family or that kind of love, to wanting it with you. If he told his 8-year-old self about this, the brat he was would cringe and turn his nose up at the thought of marriage, current age Zoro would have to laugh at his younger self.
“It's not so bad. Yeah you have someone else to worry about, but, for some reason, knowing they worry about you too…it's comforting, really “
Taking another drink of sake, Zoro knows that later, once you've all set sail again, he's going to make things right with you. No more of you wondering what he was thinking about you and your marriage. No more beating around the bush, making excuses to be with or to avoid each other.
“Yeah. I love her.”
He's going to make sure you know that soon.

"Do you still have those divorce papers?"
Freezing up, you nod a bit before grabbing your bag, pulling out the crumpled papers you'd had for the last two and a half years, handing them to Zoro. The argument you two had gotten into when Robin first joined, where Zoro called you stupid for blindly trusting her and you called him an idiot for being so untrusting, had caused you both to seriously consider ending your sham marriage then, but you never ended up signing the annulment papers in time. If you wanted to end it now, divorce was your only option. You didn't think Zoro would ever actually ask for them, and you didn't want to give them to him, but he had asked and you did still have them.
He must've decided he didn't want to be your husband, sham or real. You'd seen how close he'd gotten with Hiyori during your time in Wano, especially after she gave him the sword Enma. Maybe he wanted to be with her, though it would be a long distance relationship you were sure they'd make it work. They'd be cute together, and–
Why do you hear papers being torn?
Zoro didn't say anything after you handed him the papers, but he ends up tearing them into pieces while you were running a million thoughts in your head, your eyes widening when you finally notice what he's done.
"What are you doing?!"
"What does it look like I'm doing? Ripping up these useless papers."
You can't get any words out, stuck stammering in confusion even as Zoro sits in front of you on your bed.
"Why did you do that? We can't get divorced without those!"
"Who says I want to?" The look on your face, one of pure shock and a bright red blush, makes Zoro smile a bit, mostly to himself. You two had such little alone time in Wano he never had a chance to tell you to rip up or burn the papers, that he didn't want to divorce you. Finally though, as your ship heads towards your next destination, he gets to tell you. "I don't want to divorce you. I've decided we're staying married and you're taking my last name."
You're still so in shock you don't know what to say or how to say it. Hearing Zoro say such a thing, and that he wants you to take his last name makes your face even redder. "W-what?!"
You end up slapping your hands over your cheeks out of embarrassment and to make sure you aren't dreaming while Zoro nods and places a hand on his chin like he was thinking
"Roronoa [Y/N]. Sounds pretty good to me."
"Wait. Wait, wait, wait. Slow down. I…I'm getting dizzy." Leaning against the wall, you hold your head in your hands and try to calm your pounding heart. This was all so much at once, he can't just tell you he's decided you two were staying married and you were going to be a Roronoa now!
Granted yes, it's what you've wanted the last two and a half years, but still. He could at least ask if you were all right with this!
"Are you…are you saying you…"
"Want to stay your husband? Yeah, that's what I'm saying." Zoro moves closer to you, putting his arm around your shoulders and leaning you into him, maybe that would help clear your head. "I won't divorce you or let anyone else marry you."
"But…what about Hiyori…?"
"What about her? She's nice enough and gave me her father's sword but…I don't…feel that way for her."
So you were wrong. Zoro didn't have any romantic feelings for Hiyori. You were never so glad to be so wrong before now. You can feel tears starting, but try to blink them away, sitting up and taking his hand in your own.
“When did you decide this?”
“A while ago, honestly,” Zoro draws you closer to him, the softest look you've ever seen from him as he places his forehead against yours, “I'm sorry it took me so long to tell you, I had to make sure it was right first. That this is what I wanted too.”
"You have no idea how happy I am to hear that," biting your lip, you look away with a slight blush, "but…are you sure you want me? I feel like you don't have a real choice here…"
"I made my choice when I offered to marry you to keep you out of that arranged marriage. You were my choice from the beginning."
You don't say anything else or give Zoro the chance to say more before you kiss him, no hesitation from him in returning it, pulling you as close as possible, into his lap just like your first kiss in Water 7 two years. It's been a long time coming, and you're just glad your feelings were finally returned, you don't have to worry about a possible divorce and the heartbreak that would follow.
No, you and Zoro are desperately in love with each other. It took you some time to get to this point, but you were here now. No need for an annulment or divorce, not even a need for you to find a place to get married, you're already several steps ahead.
"I love you, husband."
"I love you too, wife."
And you don't think you can be any happier.
+!+
Zoro wakes up the next morning to you digging through a drawer in your nightstand, muttering something like "where did it go" and "what did I do with it". He figures you're trying to be quiet, but you failed at that and woke him, though he isn't really upset about it.
It seems like Robin and Nami never came back to the women's bunks, something he's sure you're grateful for so they didn't walk in on anything they wouldn't want to see. Zoro won't ever tell you that he specifically asked them not to come by if they could, since he wasn't sure at the time how things were going to play out.
He lays there and watches you for a moment, until you seem to find what you had been looking for, happily pulling the item out of the drawer and checking whatever it was to make sure it was all right.
"Hey."
You scream a bit, not expecting Zoro to be awake and almost dropping the item in your hands. He just laughs at you so hard, you have half a mind to shove him off your small bed, he was near the edge anyway. Instead your face goes bright red and you punch his shoulder, making him laugh even more.
"You jerk, you scared me! When did you wake up?!"
"A couple minutes ago, while you were digging in your drawer."
You pout while Zoro sits up and tries to see what you have in your hands, you trying to keep it hidden and focus more on how he scared you. Of course you knew he didn't mean to, he'd never do that on purpose, but you were trying to keep something a surprise.
"What you got there, wife?"
"It's…it's nothing, husband."
The inflection you put on the word husband doesn't convince Zoro that it really is nothing. He knows you were hiding something you don't want him to see yet, to the point he pulls you into a kiss, keeping you in place by holding the back of your head while he reaches around you to take whatever is in your hands.
"Hey!" You push him back when you realize he took the item from you, and give him a glare. "You can't just kiss me and steal my stuff!"
"Thought husbands and wives weren't supposed to keep secrets."
"Surprises aren't technically secrets."
Zoro rolls his eye at you, ignoring the slight blush you have as you don't fight to get the small box back while he opens it. He's a bit surprised after all, looking from the box to you, who is trying not to look him in the eye.
Your secret item was a set of wedding rings it looked like, maybe just regular rings but they matched too well to just be random rings put in a box together. A plain, thick silver band and a smaller, thin silver band with a small jewel on it. Obviously, one for a man and one for a woman, definitely wedding bands.
When did you have time to get these though? Neither of you had acted on your feelings until after you'd all come together again, and even after that, no real confessions or anything had happened until the night before. Did you get these in Wano before your ship left, or had you gotten them a while ago? Zoro knew you would start talking the longer he looked at you.
"I," you bite your lip and keep looking away, your cheeks red out of embarrassment as you try to explain, "I found them in Loguetown…I know we weren't really together then but…I don't know, I couldn't help it…"
"You want me to put your ring on you then?"
"Huh?"
You didn't think Zoro would be willing to do something so romantic, but it is traditional and he leans more to that than you had originally expected.
Your marriage isn't traditional though, having gotten married at a backwater court house almost three years prior, only to save you from an arranged marriage. You'd nearly annulled your marriage, thought he was going to divorce you the night before, and spent two years apart.
The fact that Zoro, of all people, is willing to stay married to you and make it work, to actually make a life with you, it makes you happy.
"Then," you nod, smiling while Zoro turns to face you better, "I'll put yours on you."
You two are quiet for a bit, you looking at the rings you'd bought forever ago, honestly kind of amazed you'd reached this point. There was a time you thought they'd never be used, but now, as you watch Zoro take your ring from the box to put on your hand, you can't help but smile and laugh a bit.
"What's so funny?"
"Nothing, it's just…weird to think we're doing this," a thought hits you, and you give Zoro a slight grin, "You know, you're supposed to say something when you put the ring on me."
He raises an eyebrow, while you blush a bit. Zoro had never been to a wedding, why would he know all the words said at those things? He always thought weddings were stupid when he was a kid, but now as an adult, he almost felt bad that you two didn't have a proper wedding, despite your insistence that it was perfectly fine and would be a fun story to tell your kids, if you had any.
"What do you mean? Don't I just put it on your finger and that's it?"
Giggling, you shake your head and take his ring in your hand to place on his finger. "So…what you'd do, if we'd had a real ceremony, is take the ring, and say, 'with this ring I thee wed.'"
Zoro looks at the ring now on his left hand, before looking back to you.
"That's dumb."
It makes you burst out laughing to hear that. Of course he thinks it's dumb, but you don't expect anything less from him. It does make you happy though, to give Zoro his ring and watch him look it over, getting used to it being there, before he takes your ring and your left hand in his. His face is red, and he looks like he's thinking about what you said, which makes you smile a bit.
"With…this ring…I thee wed."
Zoro barely speaks above a whisper, but you hear him. It's a vow, not something flowery or long winded, but still a vow that he's yours and you're his. The way he holds your hand, running his thumb across your fingers while staring at your ring. You giggle a bit at how shy he acted, repeating those words to you, giving him a kiss and a smile.
"I love you, husband."
"I love you too, wife."
"...you did put my ring on the wrong finger though."
"Damn it, [Y/N]."

Can you make a HC about what they do when Luffy is King of Pirates, the One Piece is found, Mystery of "D" resolved and so on? I mean if they stay Pirates, settle down, marry or do another profession. 👀 When there 35 plus or older. Please with Zoro, Sanji, Law and Kid 😍
Ooooh how fun! I did a bunch of chars including the ones you wanted : D
Sanji Sanji finds the all blue and makes his own floating restaurant. Luffy always comes to visit and always eats him out of house and home. Sanji has long hair he keeps in a ponytail, and he has a beard he keeps in a braid, just like his old man [Zeff <3] Sanji is tough love with teaching his chefs but they all love and respect him. He’s married to his work and also every pretty person who steps foot in his restaurant. He calls it ‘The All Blue’ and he charges people with alot of money but helps out those in need. Thanks to Luffy being not just the pirate king but also a yonko his place is considered untouchable by the marines and thus everyone can come and eat here fearlessly with no worries.
Zoro He’s the greatest swordsman in the world. He never leaves Luffy’s side, always sailing the high seas with his captain. When he does eventually settle down he gets married, and everyone is invited, even Sanji. He runs his own dojo now in Kuina’s memory, he teaches kids how to fight. He doesn’t turn away people who are female-bodied/identify as girls because he knows how strong they can be and would never play the sexist card. Everyone who trains with him are equal and valid. He would teach his own children how to fight too. He’s a firm but fair teacher. He still has that short mossy hair of his, maybe he’s got some ink now.
Nami Fame, wealth, power! Some say that’s just for the Pirate king, but Nami would disagree, Nami has everything she’s ever wanted. She sends back loads of money to her home island which have repaired all the damage that the Arlong Pirates ever did. They become a thriving community. She even makes sure there is a lovely orphanage, in memory of Bellmere with orange trees all around where young women can grow and learn skills and become strong and anything they want to be. Nami gets her short hair back.
Robin and Franky Together, but not married. Neither wants to get a piece of government-approved paperwork to say they are married. Robin can piece together all the mysteries of the world, the void century is her’s and she passed on everything she can to her students. She makes sure the next generation of the world will remember everything that happened both good and bad and as long as there are people alive who know what happened, who have seen the devil and god history can avoid repeating itself. Robin has her bangs back, and wears her long, long hair in a braid.
Franky becomes a teacher himself! He passes on the amazing shipwright skills he learned from Tom to anyone who wants to come and learn from him. Both are a blessing to the generations after. Maybe Franky has toned down his look a little and he’s more like he was in pre-skip?
Brook Still a hecken popular musician who is going around touring, loved by many, and as long as his music keeps touching people's hearts and he always has fans, he won’t ever truly be alone. He obviously reunites with Laboon too!
Jinbei Retired, living his best life back at Fishman Island, and has a spouse now. He keeps an eye on Fishman island though there is nothing but peace. After all the island and his people are protected by the pirate king himself.
Usopp Usopp goes off and becomes a pirate captain himself! But it doesn’t last very long, it’s just not the same so he retires and goes into writing books. He writes stories of all his fantastic adventures and inspires the hearts and minds of many young people who all want to be pirates. He also takes up art as a more serious profession. He writes and does his own artwork. Usopp’s Fables. Maybe he goes back to his village, him being a famous writer brings good things for the sleepy village.
Chopper Goes back to DRUM and helps the people, bringing back doctors to the island. DRUM once again becomes well known for how amazing its doctors are. He’s a good teacher for those wanting to be in the medical field.
Luffy THE PIRATE KING HIMSELF? Every night is still a party, he only settles down when the last of his crew wants to seek their own fortunes. He visits them all. Spending his time traveling between them and going on adventures. He never truly settles down. Just married to his love of life.
Law Still a pirate, still with his crew because they are and always will be his family. He did everything he set out to do, take people down, and get revenge, he didn’t ever see his life past Dressrosa to start with so everything is a bonus. The only difference is now the heart pirates have less of a reputation for their captain being scary and cruel but the best place to take anyone with a rare illness. He specializes in learning about them and healing them. Totally rocking more tattoos everywhere and a ponytail maybe. Or an undercut…
Kid IGNORING CANON Him and his crew are still an issue for the world government, even in their 30s, 40s, hell even when they're 70 they are wild and causing chaos all across the world. Kid loses his violent streak and is just out here with his boys having the time of his life. Maybe he has a partner or two, he and Killer going polyam at last.
Marco Marco even at like 80 still looks younger, still a doctor on Sphinx but this time he’s not so honour bound to the memory of Whtiebeard and Ace. He sometimes leaves the island to go on adventures. He visits his partners, finally allowing himself to date again. He becomes a vet as well as a doctor, helping out people on islands he visits while seeing his partners. He’s enjoying his retirement, he has so many people in his life again that it heals his heart. Still, he aches for everything he’s lost, he always will but now he’s not shackled by it.
Sabo Thanks to his efforts and the RA the world is a more equal place, he makes sure of it. Aside from all of that. Maybe Sabo has a partner, maybe he’s allowed himself to have a few kids that he raises to be good and just and to never see the world as black and white but all the greys that the world is built up of. Making sure the next generation has a strong sense of their own justice. Sabo also wrote a huge book documenting Luffy’s travels after listening to his brother tell the stories over and over. The book becomes the legend of the Pirate King. The story inspires another era of pirates.

One Piece Chapter 1126 commentary
Fresh spoilers under cut!
Yes, Luffy, you're right. Anyone would be curious after 100 years. I just can't with Luffy sometimes. I still wonder if this serves as foreshadowing that Luffy will become immortal smh.
Such cheerful idiots. They remind me so much of Zoro and Sanji, and they also served as parallel to them all the way back in Little Garden too.
Just look at them. They love each other so much, my god. I guess in One Piece, fighting each other constantly means you just love them so much you can't refuse any opportunity to interact, geez.
Also it's so sweet that Dory and Broggy still keep it a secret that their weapons broke down because they helped Strawhats leave the island. They will take that secret to their graves, won't they.
This is so wholesome. Kuma's consciousness might be barely there, he can't even speak, but Bonney knows it's still her dad and wants to just spend time with him together <3
I admit this hit me right in the feels. Bartolomeo knows that if he asked for help, Luffy would run miles to him, but he just won't because he doesn't want to be a burden.
I don't think I ever saw Shanks doing that expression before... I wonder if Bartolomeo's words just hit too close to home.
Also hi Shanks, finally I get to see you more often than once every 200 chapters, about the effing time. Don't spoil me too much or I might expect seeing you more often from now on, and I'm not ready for the disappointment if that's not the case!
"Softer than I expected", oh, Bartolomeo, you have NO IDEA. He's so right though.
Oh. My. God. When was the last time I saw you smile like that, Shanks?? Must be a thousand years ago! All the way back when Ace visited you and thanked you for saving Luffy's life. And before that? Must be in East Blue with Luffy. It was way too long. Please smile more often, you doofus! Bartolomeo, honestly thank you for exisiting. You made this man smile like this again <3 also you're a chad Barto, please, you're great.
Also Shanks, you have no idea how many people are doting on Luffy! Lots of very nice people. I wish you could have met Law as well...
And boom, another young pirate crew got eradicated. Seeing Shanks reactions in this chapter though makes me more convinced that Kid will be fine and alive too. Narrator in One Piece is so unreliable lol.
Speaking of narrator in One Piece... who is it actually? Who is commenting the events for us? Is it you, Morgans?? Admit it, you stupid bird!!
I don't believe you even for a second Kuzan. Not after that trick you pulled off with Saul. You clearly did everything you could to SAVE Garp's life there. He was in such a bad shape too, after all. Garp's rep is insane btw. And he looks a lot like Ace locked away forever ago in Impel Down...
Big bro and Big Sis? Caribou, do you mean Devon and Augur by that? LOL. Or does Caribou actually have a big sis??
Hello, new adventure of Strawhats in a Lego land! God, how much I envy them! I also want to explore a lego land!
Okay, so what happened here. Did they shrink and now they're dolls in a lego house? Because this is not Elbaf. It's not like I thought it will be Elbaf anyway, I read a good theory that Elbaf won't happen yet, we're entering floating storyline arc. It might be wrong, because it predicted Strawhats somehow landing in G-14 base (which is supposed to be somewhat near to Egghead, that's where the kids from Punk Hazard are kept, as well as many Sword members are part of it).
But let's explore the possible explanations that were given to us in this chapter alone:
Robin's idea is a funny one. But Robin's ideas and visions are always wrong, that's like the repeated gag in One Piece lol. So I'm not placing a bet on that (also what sort of fish has a lego mansion inside it's stomach).
"There's a chance it'll make you hallucinate". Interesting. And it's called Green Fairy huh. We see Sanji, Zoro, Nami and Usopp getting seriously drunk with it. Coincidentally, those are the Strawhats that are currently missing in action (+Luffy and possibly Chopper as well?). Actually, the whole Sunny is missing. What could make a whole ship just disappear? I mean, it was even tied up to the Giants ship, wasn't it?
Yep, seems it was. Probably using Sunny's anchor. Which means, if a fish actually swallowed them up, it would be dangling on that anchor. But anyway I didn't buy Robin's comment anyway, no one should lol.
So someone had to undo that anchor for the ship to leave... and here's my most logical conclusion to that: it was Luffy. Luffy doesn't like to drink. For some reason he abducted them somewhere? I mean it's not exactly something impossible for Luffy to do. The crew also somehow pins it down on Luffy, just look at this:
Or, it was someone else capable of stealing a whole ship. There's one problem with this idea though. We were just watching reactions from folks all around the world about Vegapunk's broadcast. We basically know where everyone is and what they're doing (which excludes possibility that it was for example a prank from Shanks), besides literally a few exceptions, like most of Luffy's grand fleet. I can't help but notice Law is still missing in action too.
Right before the environment is revealed to us, Nami comments this must be all alcohol's fault. And that's indeed my guess on what's happening: Nami is experiencing a hallucination from drinking too much of Green Fairy. Which means she isn't a reliable narrator right now and what we're seeing isn't 100% accurate. I still envy her though. I also want to be in a Legoland <3
There's also the chapter's title: 落とし前 (otoshimae) which means: payback, return of favour, taking responsibility, but the most known association is with the yakuza's custom of cutting off a finger as apology for making a blunder. We saw one of such examples happen in this chapter: Bartolomeo had to suck it up because he messed with Shanks and Shanks couldn't let it slide.
I admit I thought it's gonna be a red herring plotline, but Oda actually delivered on that promise! I'm glad I was wrong, ha! This was delicious. Bartolomeo drinking a fake poison to show his loyalty to Strawhats was absolutely fantastic. And Shanks testing him in such a way is so disgusting but also awesome. He cares so much to make sure people around Luffy are actually good people... Shanks and Bartolomeo's encounter is basically two biggest fanboys of Luffy meeting up and it's gotta make this my most favourite chapter for a while now <3
Next, we could probably see "taking responsibility" also in what happened at the very end of the chapter. Strawhats got literally drunk, yeah, so they're literally taking responsibility now for it. But it could also suggest someone kidnapped them to either 1. give them payback 2. repay a favour (despite the ominous line at the end of the chapter, I think it might be the latter actually. But we will see). Wouldn't be the first time Oda uses subtle hints like that to let us know what's actually going on.
There's probably a few more tie-ins to the title in this chapter. Dory and Broggy still gonna continue their duel (it's also taking responsibility, right? Once said words can't be taken back), Bonney and Kuma (she took him with her so she's now taking care of him instead of feasting with others), Blackbeard and Kuzan (Kuzan kinda took responsibility over what happened and made up for the losses when he took Garp hostage). I'm not sure how accurate it is though, because I though otoshimae is related to "making up for some wrongdoing or a mistake", not just taking responsibility for your own actions (or collectively for the whole group). But it might be both, I guess?
But then we can't ignore a tiny callback to that line Zoro says in Water 7 here: "we need to take responsibility for accepting Robin into the crew and that's why now we have to decide: is she a crewmate or an enemy?" The word he uses back then is also "otoshimae".
I'm so into this story's development right now, I literally can't wait for the next chapter! I liked the lore in Egghead, but futuristic islands are just not my type of thing in general. Whatever is happening now, I'm so into it already haha.

See you in Zou, Right? || Sanji x Reader
Series Masterlist
Prequel to⇡ — Spoilers for dressrosa
Summary - You and your boyfriend Sanji have to split up
Dressrosa was not going anywhere near as planned.
You and Zoro had gotten lost, only to meet up with Franky and find out the plan to turn Caesar over was a bust, Traffy got beat and taken by DoFlamingo, and Luffy was fighting in an arena. Then, when the two of you split off to go to the Sunny, you ran into Kin’emon and were told that the ship had already left for Zou with half your crew.
Sanji included.
You were desperate to talk to your boyfriend. To find out exactly what happened and if he and the others were okay.
The three of you ran all the way to the colosseum to talk to Luffy. After a frustrating conversation with some fanboy of the crew, your captain finally came to see you. He looked ridiculous with his fake beard, flower shirt, gold helmet, and red cape, but you could hardly find any amusement in it. There were marines everywhere, and you were standing out in the open.
When Kin’emon pulled out his transponder snail, you all but ripped it out of his hand and dialed the Sunny. The snail clicked, and there was a commotion in the background, like someone was fighting, but that all faded when you heard your favorite voice, “This is the Sunny.”
“Sanji! Thank god, I heard you got into a fight with Flamingo. Are you okay?” You asked a relieved sigh leaving your chest.
You heard a chuckle through the snail, making you smile, “Of course I’m fine Darling, even better now that I know you’re okay.”
“Ugh, gross.” Zoro groaned, and you shot him a glare.
“Shut it, mosshead!” Sanji yelled before asking Chopper to call Usopp.
Once the whole crew was able to talk, you caught each other up on everyone's situation. Everyone was relatively safe except for your group, who were now running from the Marines while talking.
You guys were trying to figure out the next step when Franky cut in, asking Luffy if he could join the fight to take down DoFlamingo.
Apparently, Dressrosa was a living hell, and there was a resistance of little fairy type people ready to fight for their freedom. Honestly, after learning everything you have about this place and the family running it, you couldn’t help but want to fight, too. Thankfully, Luffy instantly agreed, telling your cyborg crewmate that you guys would back him up.
“Alright, we’re coming back,” Sanji announced, and you felt your shoulders relax despite the effort of running.
He was coming back to you.
“Wait,” Nami’s voice came through the snail, making you tense up again, “We need to strategize this. There are three pieces to this, and we have two of them right here; it’s smarter if we take them as far away as we can.”
“But-“
“Listen,” Sanji’s voice was cut off by Nami’s, “I know you want to go back for Y/N, but we can’t. This is the smartest plan.”
“I agree with Nami; you guys head on to Zou; we’ll meet up there,” Luffy said, his voice deeper from exertion.
It was quiet for a moment before you let out a frustrated groan, “Sanji…”
“I know.” You heard your boyfriend sigh.
The captain made his decision, and as his crew, you had no choice but to follow.
So, the plan was set.
“Alright, listen up, you guys, if Y/N comes back to me with even a scratch I’ll kill you, understood?!” Sanji demanded through the snail, making you chuckle, “And Robin! I better not see any injuries on her, either!”
“Would you shut the fuck up, stupid cook?”
“I mean it, you directionally challenged moss ball! I’ll cook you alive if she gets hurt!”
“Oh yeah? I’d like to see you try!”
“Would you two shut up!” Usopp yelled, breaking up the hourly Zoro and Sanji argument.
You smiled despite the burning in your body from all the running.
The details of the plan were made, and time was running out as buildings started slicing in half. Usopp and the others hung up, and Luffy ran off to continue his fight.
The transponder snail looked up at you from its place on your palm, curly eyebrows letting you know who held the other one.
“Sanji?”
“Yes, my love?”
Fear settled in your chest as more buildings began to crumble out of nowhere, “I’ll see you in Zou, right?”
You heard Sanji chuckle again before he answered,
“Of course you will.”

I'm happier living with you. | GN Reader X Mihawk.
"Moria-sama is alive! Moria-sama is alive! - your big sis, Perona, flies around happily at the news that Gecko Moria is alive, of course, after releasing a great scream that echoed throughout the whole Kuraigana Island , even Hawk-Eyes had to cover his ears, already being used to the dramatic personality of the ghost princess.
"what's going on?! Perona?! - you were in the garden watering the plants and picking some berries, thinking about making a strawberry cake for Mihawk, but once you heard your big sis scream, you left everything behind and ran thinking she was in danger, not caring if Hawk-Eyes would scold you for soiling the castle floor.
you barely entered the room and Perona jumps on you telling you excitedly that your former captain, Moria, is alive, leaving you shocked.
two years ago, you and your sister were part of his crew, however, you never liked Moria that much, never going along with him stealing other people's shadows and using zombies to do his dirty work, the main reason you joined Moria's crew was just to be close to your sister.
during the events of Thriller Bark, thanks to Bartholomew Kuma, you and Perona got sent to Kuraigana Island, that's how you met him: Dracule Mihawk, the strongest swordsman in the world.
despite his reputation, he was kind enough to let you and Perona live in his house, you don't even know how he has so much patience to deal with you and her, but these past two years you couldn't help but become attached to Hawk-Eyes.
you've discovered a side of him the world would never know, he enjoys cooking, spending the day reading novels over a cup of coffee, he even enjoys farming, a passion you and he have in common, you feel happier living in his castle than you did on Thriller Bark.
you found yourself slowly falling in love with the Warlord, it all started when you became jealous seeing that he spends a lot of time with an annoying swordsman who looks like a moss-head, Zoro, you thanked god when he finally left and went back to his crew, he was nice and sometimes you found it funny how he was constantly getting lost around the castle.
keeping those feelings hidden for two years was hard, not even your sister could guess that you have feelings for Hawk-Eyes, you know you had zero chances with Mihawk, although he treats you so well, he probably only sees you as Perona's shy sibling, who blushes every time he talks to you.
it was impossible to know which was more painful: living with Mihawk and not being able to tell you love him, or going back to Moria with your sister and living a miserable life, your sister was so happy to get back to her captain while you weren't sure what decision to make.
Perona was so excited while packing her bags that she didn't notice you leaving the room, you needed to know what Mihawk thought about you and your sister leaving after spending two years living together, will he miss you?will he miss hearing your laugh? will he miss farming and picking fruits with you in the garden? will he miss spending the day reading novels with you in comfortable silence, just enjoying each other's company? or when he cooks while you just watch with curious eyes? you needed to know.
"I imagine your ghost sister has already told you the news." - Mihawk looked at you entering his room, as usual, he was sitting in the armchair with a book and a cup of coffee.
"yeah...she is very excited to get back to Moria-sama, and I'll go along with her. - Hawk-Eyes raises an eyebrow at your slightly saddened tone, realizing you aren't as excited as your sister. - "thank you so much for letting us live with you, Mihawk-San, I will never forget this place...I will never forget you." - you barely have the courage to look him in the eye, fearing he doesn't even care that you're leaving.
Mihawk remained silent, which made you conclude that he really doesn't care, he won't miss you, what a fool you are?you lowered your gaze and walked towards the door, about to leave the room, when Hawk-Eyes finally said something.
"be careful on your way." - you widen your eyes in disbelief, does he care about you? you nod your head without saying anything, but once again Hawk-Eyes said something. -"unless you really don't want to leave."
you looked over at Mihawk closing his book and putting it on the table next to him, he gets up and walks to the window, not looking at you, all you wanted was to admit your feelings to him, you didn't want to go back to Moria, your only place was at Mihawk's side, maybe going back to Moria is the best option, maybe with time passing these silly feelings can disappear.
"with what the world government is planning, the best option is for you to stay away from my presence." - Hawk-Eyes tells you that the government is planning to abolish the Warlord system, and if that happens, he will lose his privileges as a Sichibukai and become a wanted person like the old times.
hearing that, you felt it was more of a reason to stay by his side, not like Dracule Mihawk needed you to protect him, but you didn't want to leave him alone either.
"the best you can do is leave, I don't want you being targeted by the government for associating with me." - your lips tremble listening to his words, for the first time Mihawk shows that he cares for you in some way.
"I'm not going anywhere!" - you bravely exclaim with clenched fists. - "I don't want to go back to Moria-Sama knowing that I'm happier by your side! I don't care if I'm targeted by the government or the navy, I'm only leaving here if you ask me to! do you want me to leave?! tell me! tell me to go away and I'll go right now! - tears run down your cheeks making you feel pathetic for crying in front of him.
Was this how the two best years of her life were going to end? Mihawk was going to go back to being a wanted criminal while you live a miserable life with Moria, his crew and his zombies?
Mihawk finally looks at you with his intimidating eyes, walking towards you with an expression that is impossible to decipher.
"I won't ask you to go, because I want you to stay here with me." - his face comes close to yours, making you shiver slightly as you look right into his hawk eyes. - you're a fool if you think i don't know you have feelings for me. - was it that obvious? your face starts to blush, of course he's noticed, Mihawk is a very observant man, he's certainly noticed the way you act around him, and the fact that you want to stay with him willing to put yourself in danger and face any enemy instead of just leaving with your sister is just another proof of how much you love Hawk-Eyes.
"that's true, but that doesn't matter, you would never have feelings for me." - you muttered feeling silly admitting your feelings for a man who probably doesn't love you, does Mihawk at least ever loved someone?
"you miscalculated" - his pale fingers run across your lower lip as he whispers in your ear. "I got interested in you from the first time I saw you, that's why I let you and the ghost girl live here, do you think I never noticed how much you blush when I talk to you? or when you got jealous when Roronoa became my apprentice? you insult my intelligence."
a small smirk forms on Hawk-Eyes' lips, you lowkey got angry that he let you spend those two years suffering trying to hide your feelings, but at the same time, a wave of happiness runs through your body, knowing that he feels the same way about you.
"Mihawk..." - before you could speak, Hawk-Eyes pulls you in for a warm kiss, barely able to process what's going on, you thought this was just another one of your crazy dreams that you usually have about him, Mihawk was really kissing you, exploring every corner of your mouth with his tongue, his hands tighten around your waist, keeping you closer to him and making sure you don't leave.
"now you will have to explain to the ghost girl that she will have to leave alone, because you will stay here with me." - after finishing the kiss, Hawk-Eyes whispers in your ear, caressing your cheek with his thumb. "is this what you desire? stay here in my castle living with me? say it, mi amor".
"I don't want to be away from you, there's no other place where I can be happy, my place is here." - Satisfied with your response, Hawk-Eyes pulls you in for another kiss, this time with more desire and intensity.
you'll have a hard time explaining to your sister that you're not going with her, hopefully she'll understand that you now belong to Dracule Mihawk.
---the end---

idk if you’ve done this before but can you do either zoro or luffy finding out that their s/o is actually alive? like they watched them die and stuff and then a while later, they just come back like
a/n - I woke up at 3am today and I’m very motivated for some reason :) thank you for this request anon!
Warnings ⚠️ - angst, g/n reader
You had died a while ago, and Zoro still hasn’t recovered from it. Your death was… Enough to break the unbreakable man. Everyone in the strawhat crew knew how much you meant to him, he would die for you.
He still had little pictures of you laying around, little things to remember you by. It was sad, feeling how the bed you two shared was now one for only him. How when he trained, you weren’t hanging out with him. You didn’t save him from the pervert cook ever again… Nor did you help him deal with Luffy’s recklessness.
it was so… empty with you not there anymore. As if his life wasn’t complete. He was with his best friends for life, on his way to fulfill his dreams, and help his captain fulfill his. It was everything he could’ve wished for. Except you. You weren’t there anymore.
On the next island, zoro reluctantly came along with Nami and Robin to help with the supplies shopping. They thought it would be good for him to get out of the ship for a little while. He walked, his head hanging low, his hand perched on the hilt of his katana in case anyone dared to attack him.
Suddenly he heard a familiar voice, he could’ve sworn it was yours. How could he ever forget it? Your tone that always brought comfort to him, whenever you spoke, it put him at ease, no matter what you were talking about. He looked up to see a hooded figure speaking with a merchant, negotiating a price.
His body moved for him, walking towards the person quickly, taking off their hood and staring at them to see if it was you or not.
It wasn’t.
“What the hell man?! What’s your problem?!” The man yelled at him angrily, swatting his hands away. Zoro sighed heavily, great, now he was hearing things.
“Zoro?!”
He looked up at the merchant. No fucking way. It was you.
He literally jumped over the stands of fruit and tackled you, wrapping his bulky arms around you so tightly you couldn’t even breathe. No, what are you thinking? He totally wasn’t crying!
“Y/n- where the hell were you? And how did you survive? I saw you-“
“Die? Yeah nope that didn’t happen. I’ve been waiting here for a while since I know you guys had planned on coming here.”
“You could’ve sent a letter dammit! And there’s things called den den mushis where a literal fucking snail can call me?!!”
He was mad, happy, sad, confused, but most of all? Relieved, to see you alive, safe, and in his arms again. “Sorry Zoro- but I’m too broke to afford one! I can barely pay for an apple in this expensive town!”
He chuckled a bit, kissing your cheek before leading you out of the stand. “Ahem?! My fruit?!” The hooded man asked before Zoro shot him the nastiest death glare he’d ever experienced. Anddd- that shut him up pretty quickly, sending him running away with fear.
“Come on, I bet everyone’s going to be excited to see you again.. don’t ever do that again or else I’m going to kill you.”
“Ok ok- sorry babe.”
Luffy was never- truly the same after your passing. Watching you take that hit for him as you fell off the cliffs into the steep waterfalls. God he remembered it as if it was yesterday, it kept haunting him, following him, stalking his life.
He still smiled, had his rambunctious attitude, reckless behavior, and meat loving self. But whenever your name was brought up, he wasn’t smiling anymore, in fact, he never could find happiness in hearing about you anymore.
All he could think about was how he let you die. Just like he did with ace. Everyone knew, everyone saw the changes from his old self. They hoped that this new island would help cheer him up, since it had been known for its very delicious meat.
He obviously tagged along with Robin and Sanji to pick out the “best” meat. When he was standing around, struggling not to eat it before Sanji even got a change to cook it, he saw a glimpse of someone he used to know. They looked- just like you!
It took him not even a moment to start running towards the person, turning them around to see that it… it was you!
“Y/N!”
He tackled you down, his arms wrapping several times around you, his face nuzzling into the crook of your neck. “LUFFY!”
Oh god you missed him so much- just to be able to hug him like this again was more than enough to bring life back into your heart again. “How are you here?! I thought you- fell off the cliffs?”
“I did, and Luffy. It wasn’t your fault ok? I’ve been wanting to tell you that for so long. Don’t blame yourself, I was the one that was too angry, and just attacked with no plan. I was the one that got myself almost killed ok? Not you.”
You kissed his forehead, you definitely knew Luffy had been blaming himself this entire time for your “death”. He grinned, peppering your face with his kisses, tickling your cheeks. “Sanji picked out some yummy meat, tonight we’re gonna have a feast!!!”
You smiled at him. Finally, you were home.
a/n - this was adorable help

I am in love with recent luffy smut omg that was amazing. Is it possible if I can request a usopp smut, please. I’ll leave the topic in your hands, bc I trust u✨
Usopp X Reader: Shoot your shot
I don't have Usopp's mannerisms down as much as Luffy's so i hope i did him justice. Enjoy! ❤️
Warning: smut, fingering, penetration (p in v), nipple sucking, kissing, dirty talk, soft sex, fluff, making out.
Word Count: 2,5 K
"Bet you won't do it."
Usopp's head snaps up from his drink, his eyes moving to glance at Zoro.
"What are you talking about?"
"Come on man, you've been staring all night."
A small blush creeped into Usopp's cheeks at the sword masters words. Was it really that obvious? Usopp's eyes made their way back to you watching as you danced with Nami. You were smiling wide as you swayed to the music. The sight made Usopp's heart skip a beat. The sharpshooter had always had a small crush on you but he never acted on his feelings, far too scared to do something and risk your friendship. Despite his lack of action it was pretty clear he had a thing for you. Anyone who paid the smallest bit of attention could see it. You were the only one who didn’t seem to notice it.
Not that it was your fault. You weren’t used to guys beating around the bush. When someone was interested in you they made it quite clear. It annoyed you a bit but it also made things easier. You weren’t exactly great with feelings, especially not romantic ones. You’d never really felt desire for anyone, far too preoccupied with staying alive to care about something like love. Yet since you joined the strawhats you found yourself being drawn to Usopp. You liked listening to his fantastical tales, even if they weren’t true it made you feel a sense of adventure. It was why you’d joined the crew in the first place. You’d gotten sick of waiting tables as the baratie and decided to tag along with Sanji. You hadn't planned on sticking around for long but the longer you stayed with the crew the less you saw yourself leaving.
Your eyes scan the crowd around you, searching for your friends. Luffy is sitting at a table scarfing down the third plate of the evening, Sanji is off to the side of the bar flirting with some blonde he'd met, Zoro was leaning over the counter talking to the bartender, Usopp stood beside Zoro. You smiled at the boy, gesturing with your hand for him to join you. Usopp raised his glass towards you, silently telling you he couldn't join you because of the drink in his hand. Zoro noticed the exchange, reaching over and grabbing Usopp's drink from his hand before gulping it down.
"What the hell Zoro!"
"Stop making excuses and go over there.”
You watched Zoro shove Usopp in your direction. The sharpshooter stumbled forward, not having been prepared for the sudden movement. You let out a laugh, turning to tell Nami about it. Except that she was nowhere to be found. Oh well she can handle herself. Usopp shuffled his way through the crowd making his way to you. Once he was close enough you grabbed his hand and tugged him over.
"Hey."
“Hi, quite the trip you’ve had.”
“Did you see the monster I had to fight on my way over?”
You shook your head slightly giggling at the boy's exaggerations.
“You're very brave Usopp. Thanks for coming to save me.”
“You’re welcome princess.”
Your body warmed at the nickname. How could something so small get such a reaction out of you? Usopp seemed to notice the shift in the atmosphere, his hands going to rest on your arms.
“You okay?”
“Yeah i’m fine i just-”
Music started to blare, making you stop in your tracks. Your eyes widened at the familiar sound.
“Oh my god! I love this song! Dance with me Usopp.”
“Oh I'm not really the danci-woah!”
Before he could give you some lame excuse you dragged him into the center of the dance floor, a bright smile on your face. You started moving to the rhythm of the music, closing your eyes as you did. Usopp observed you in awe. The way your body swayed to the beat, face completely blissed out, made his body twitch. You looked like an angel. You snapped your eyes open feeling the weight of Usopp's gaze on you.
“This is a dance floor that means you have to, you know, dance!”
“I’m not a good dancer.”
“So what? No ones looking anyway.”
That was true. Everyone around you was far too into their own thing to care about you and Usopp but it didn’t really calm him. You were watching and that was enough to make him nervous.
“Here I'll help you out.”
You took his hands into your own, placing them on your hips. Usopp's fingers twitched around your waist, his arms stiff as he waited for your next move.
“Jes Usopp, loosen up! I won’t bite.”
Usopp gave you a sideways smile, his body relaxing a bit at your words.
“There you go. Much better.”
You started moving side to side slowly, allowing Usopp to get used to the motion before quickening your movements. He seemed to catch on pretty quickly, his body following the flow of the music in a matter of seconds.
“See you’re a natural!”
“Nah, I just have a good teacher.”
You smiled, biting the corner of your lip. Usopp's eyes dropped to your mouth for a brief second before moving to stare at the place where his hands rested on your body. You followed his gaze, staring at the muscles on his arms. The small amount of liquor in your system was making you bolder than normal. You inched yourself closer to Usopp, your hands resting on his chest. He raised his head to look at you, his lips parting slightly. The song changed suddenly, switching to a more sensual rhythm. You’d have to remember to leave the DJ a tip when you left. You turned your body around so that your back was pressed up against Usopp's chest.
“Uh, what are you doing?”
“Shh, just go with it.”
Your hips moved with the music, slow and steady, causing you to grind against the sharpshooter. You heard Usopp take a deep breath in, the grip on your waist tightening. He called out your name, making you turn your head to look at him.
“What is it?”
You knew exactly what you were doing. You'd wanted this for a while now but had never found a good time. I mean what better place to seduce someone than at a bar? Usopp lowered his mouth to your ear, his hot breath fanning over your bare skin.
“Let’s go somewhere more private.”
“Lead the way Captain Usopp.”
As soon as you arrived on the ship Usopp's hands were on you. He wrapped his arms around your waist, tugging you as close as possible before capturing your mouth in his. You’d expected Usopp to be sweet and gentle when it came to stuff like this but there was a hunger in him you hadn't seen before. It’s safe to say you enjoyed it. You wrapped your arms around his neck, using his body as leverage to lift your body up. Usopp understood what you wanted, his strong arms moving to cup your thighs so that you could wrap your legs around his waist. You groaned at the feeling of his hard on against your clothed cunt.
“Usopp…”
“Yeah princess, what do you want?”
“Too much clothing. Take it off.”
Usopp walked over to a nearby table placing you on top of it before moving back to remove his clothes. He started off with his shirt unbuttoning it to reveal the taut muscles underneath. You practically drooled at the sight. You’d become used to seeing the other boys on the crew shirtless but you often forget that beneath his clothes Usopp hid a great physic. You placed your hands between your thighs leaning forward on the table to get a better look. The position of your arms caused your breasts to be squashed together, the low cut top you were wearing doing nothing to hide them. Ussops stopped moving at the sight, the hand that had been working on his shirt stopping in mid air. You frowned at him for a moment before realizing what he was staring at. A small smirk made its way onto your face, body leaning even farther forward.
“Like what you see?”
Usopp moved forward with his hands outstretched.
“Can i?”
He looked up at you shyly.
“What do you want, baby?”
“Can I touch them?”
“Of course you can, darling.”
That was all he needed. Usopp's large hands found their way to your breasts, cupping them gently. He gave them a squeeze making you moan out. The sound of your moans drove Usopp crazy. He repeated his actions, his dick aching against his pants as you whimpered his name. He pulled down your top in one harsh tug, lowering his head so that he could suck on your nipples. You placed your hands behind you, allowing Usopp easier access to your breasts. He pushed your body backwards forcing you to lay down on the table. Your legs widened instinctively, allowing the sharpshooter to slot himself between them with ease. He grinded against you as he sucked your nipples, his hands massaging your stomach gently.
“So pretty for me.”
“For you huh?”
“I uh- i mean not for me… i don’t own you or anything i just meant-”
“Usopp.”
“Yeah?”
“Just shut up and make me feel good.”
“Yeah okay.”
Usopp's hands moved down to your clothed cunt tugging your shorts down before throwing them over his shoulder. You started to laugh but it quickly turned into a moan when Usopp began playing with your folds. You grind your hips against his fingers reveling in the feeling of his hands on you.
“That's it-uh- good boy.”
Ussop groaned at your praise, his free hand going to tug at his crotch. You noticed his movements moving to lean on your shoulders.
“I thought I told you to take those off.”
Usopp looked down at you and then at his pants.
“How are you expecting to fuck me with your pants on.”
You grinned as you said the words, enjoying the pant you got out of the boy.
“Can you help me?”
“Of course baby.”
You moved to sit up, your hands finding Usopp's belt and beginning to relieve him of his bottoms. Usopp kept fingering you as you worked on his clothes, his face dropping to your neck so he could leave a trail of kisses down your shoulder blade. Once you managed to unbutton Usopp's pants you reached into his boxers and cupped his dick in your hand.
“Ah princess…”
“Feel good?”
“Yeah-fuck-so good.”
“Wait until you’re inside me.”
Your words seemed to make everything real. Usopp had dreamt about this moment so many times. He’d woken up in the morning, his boxers stiff with his cum and his body itching for the feeling of you. And now here he was: your hands wrapped around his dick as he got you off with his fingers. Your walls clenched around Usopp's fingers signaling to him that you were close. If that wasn’t enough your random babbling made it very clear.
“Baby… I'm close.”
“Cum for me princess. Coat me with it.”
“You talk about it lik-ugh ah-like its a…uh…gift.”
“Because it is. Anything you give me is a gift.”
The moment Usopp's words entered your ears you started cumming. Your body went limp falling onto Usopps as you soaked his finger in your juices. He held you close, helping you through your high. Once you’d recovered your motor functions you moved to tug on Ussops chin, placing a kiss on his lips before laying back down on the table.
“Your turn, pretty boy.”
You widen your legs allowing Usopp to have a clear view of you pussy. It was puffy from your last orgasm. You motioned with your index finger for Usopp to come closer and like the good boy he was he did as you asked. You watched him free his cock from its confines, gasping at the sight of it. It wasn’t an abnormal size but it was thick. Your walls fluttered at the idea of being filled again. Usopp's hands were gentle against you as he moved your legs off the table and onto his shoulders. You smiled gently at him causing him to give you his signature smirk.
“Should I put something on?”
“No it’s okay I'm on birth control. Fill me up all you like.”
You expected Usopp to ram into you. You’d been teasing him all night after all. But he didn’t. instead he sunk into you slowly, savoring the feeling of you around him.
“Shit Usopp….”
“Fuck you’re warm.”
Usopp leaned forward, tugging your body off the table so that he could wrap his arms around you. He moved slowly, softly fucking into you. It was tender and loving. His lips found your face and he placed a kiss on your nose. You weren’t used to this. Most of your hookups had been just that. Hookups. Just meaningless sex. But this was different. This was real. You began to tear up, your eyes glossing over. The second Usopp noticed he stopped moving.
“Are you okay? Did I do something wrong?”
He began pulling out of you but you called out his name before he could.
“You didn’t do anything wrong. I’m just not used to being treated like this. This is perfect. You’re perfect.”
Usopp cursed at your words. What kind of idiots had you been hooking up with before. What fools would get the opportunity to be with you like this and not treat you the way you deserved. He promised himself he would show you what it felt like to be loved. He placed a soft kiss on your lips, removing the sweaty hair from your forehead.
“I’m gonna go a little faster okay?”
“Okay.”
“Tell me if you want to stop.
“Usopp you don’t have to-”
“Promise me.”
You stared into his eyes, the eyes of a boy who’d been through so much pain and still found a way to be kind. A boy you were now releasing meant much more to you than you had expected.
“I promise.”
You spent the rest of the night pressed against Usopp's body, his hands working to bring you to places you’d never been before. When you woke up the next morning you found your body cuddled into Usopp's, his arms holding you close like he was scared of you drifting away in your sleep. You turned your body around nuzzling your face into the crook of his neck.
“Morning princes.”
“Morning Usopp.”
“Wanna get up?”
“No, let's just stay here a little longer.” “Whatever you want.”
If it was up to you you’d stay in Usopp's arms forever. Lucky for you he shared the sentiment.

Never wanted you to hate me
Nami opened the door to Kaya’s room as we rushed inside to see that she was safe and Usopp was there. “Thank god you’re still alive.” Nami said. “Why wouldn’t we be alive?” Kaya asked. “Y/n was right about Klahadore but his name is Kuro he’s been poisoning you.” Nami said. “Poison? What are you talking about?” Kaya asked. “I overheard them in the kitchen. It’s been going on for years.” Nami said. Kaya looked over to Usopp. “Did Usopp put you up to this?” Kaya asked. “I didn’t even know. I gave you that tea.” Usopp said. “Think about it Kaya. When did you start getting sick? Was it around the time Kuro started working here?” Nami said. Kaya seemed to think about it. “Listen to me. If we stay here we die. We have to leave now.” Nami said. Kaya looked between Nami and Usopp. “Kaya I know you’re scared but Nami is right we need to leave.” I said. “We need to get the security shutters up.” Kaya said. “Where can we do that?” Nami asked. “Follow me.” Kaya said going to a wall as a door opened and we all quickly walked into closing it behind us.
“Where are we going?” Nami whispered. “We gotta get out of the house.” Usopp said. “There’s another crank that can open the shutters. It’s in my parents bedroom in the east wing.” Kaya said. “Are you sure? Maybe there’s another way.” Usopp said. “This is the only option. We have to go.” Kaya said but started to cough. No no no not now. I went over to her try to cover her praying that there wasn’t too much noise. But then five swords pierced through the way barely missing Kaya and I then almost getting Nami and Usopp. I pushed Kaya to Usopp as ten swords pierced through the wall trapping me where I was cutting my arm. I let out a hiss of pain. “Run.” Usopp said as we ran through the passageways.
“Are you okay?” Nami asked. “I’m fine it’s just a cut nothing I can’t handle.” I said. “Now I see why Zoro thinks it’s necessary to keep you locked away.” Nami said. “Not helpful.” I said laughing a little. Kaya stopped in her tracks. “Kaya come on we got to go.” Usopp said. “She got hurt because of me.” Kaya said. “No Kaya I didn’t okay. We will talk about this later but we need to get to the crank in your parents room okay. Please Kaya we have to keep moving if we don’t Kuro will beat us there and then we will never be able to make it out.” I said. Kaya nodded and we started to move again.
Then Usopp opened a door and we walked into a large room covered in white sheets and cobwebs. “Okay. Big creepy room. No problem.” Usopp said. Kaya managed to get the lights on as Usopp freaked out about something. “It was a spider.” Usopp said. “We treated him like family. How did I not see it? How did I not see him?” Kaya said as tears filled her eyes. “It’s not your fault. He took advantage of you. Now I need you to be strong so we can get out of here.” Nami said as Kaya nodded. Kaya walked over to a covered painting and pulled the sheet down. The painting was of Kaya and her parents. “What would they think of me? They’d be so disappointed.” Kaya said. “No. No they’d want you to survive and that is exactly what we are going to do.” Nami said. Kaya pulled the painting out and behind it was the crank. The four of us pulled it out and tried to get it to start moving.
“Why is this so difficult.” I said. “No idea but we got to keep trying.” Nami said. “Where are Luffy and Zoro when we need them.” I said. We still struggled to move the crank but we could bare get it moving. “God this thing need’s some oil.” Usopp said. “No it just needs a little elbow grease.” Nami said. “Kaya. Oh miss Kaya.” Kuro said. “Hide.” I whispered. We rushed to put everything back where it was. “Sounds like we have a bigger rat problem than I thought” Kuro said. Nami, Kaya and I quickly hid under a desk and Usopp hid close by. “Maybe we need a cat in the house.” Kuro said as the doors opened and he walked in. Crap crap. “Now now Kaya I know you’re in here. Come out. There’s not point in hiding who we are anymore. Isn’t it exhausting putting on airs pretending we’re better than we are? You’ve had every opportunity this world has to offer. What have you done with your life?” Kuro said as he destroyed the room. I quietly and carefully brought my hand up on top of the desk trying and hoping to find something to use as a weapon. Nami looked at me shaking her head. I felt something cold I grabbed it quickly pulling to me. It was a letter opener well it’s better than nothing. “Nothing. Absolutely nothing. You are a pathetic spoiled sniveling little brat.” Kuro said as he stood next to where we are hiding.
I felt as Kaya grabbed ahold of my hand for comfort. But the Kuro stabbed through the desk Kaya covered her mouth with her free hand to keep from screaming. “Oh come now Kaya. Let’s not make this more difficult than it need be hmm?” Kuro said walking away. Just consider this payback for all those years spent listening to your incessant whining. Klahadore the soup’s too hot. Bring my blanky Klahadore. Make my tea. Brush my hair.” Kuro said. As we heard a mirror break. “Oh Klahadore I miss my mommy and my daddy. When all I wanted to do was rip your tongue out!” Kuro said. I took this opportunity to quietly move the sheet I saw that Kuro had his back to me I threw the letter opener at him the quickly moving back grabbing the sheet to make it seem like it was never moved. We could hear him groan out it pain. I couldn’t believe I hit him.
“Now I wonder which one of you managed to hit me. Where to look next? Well you always were daddy’s little girl even if he didn’t have enough time for you hmm?” Kuro said. “Don’t.” Nami whispered. “I’m stronger that you think.” Kaya whispered back. We all three ran out from under the desk only to be grabbed by Kuro. We were pushed to the ground Kaya and I on one side Nami on the other. I pushed Kaya behind me as Kuro had pointed a sword to my neck. “Too easy. Then Kuro caught something as Nami came or to us. I looked back to see Usopp with a sling shot behind us. Kruo was gone in the blink of an eye appearing in front of Usopp knocking him down. Then coming back to us. “Goodbye Miss Kaya.” Kuro said raising his hand. Then a hand appeared grabbing his wrist.
Luffy! Thank god. Luffy pulled Kuro’s arm from us. “These are my friends. You don’t get to mess with them.” Luffy said. “You are annoyingly resilient.” Kuro said pushing his glasses up with his palm. “Well I am made of rubber.” Luffy said. “You two go Usopp I’m going to help Luffy.” I said. “Are you crazy what are you going to do.” Nami said. “Make it up as I go.” I said. They got up and went over to Usopp. I started to look around to find anything else I could use as a weapon. I grabbed at lamp pole and went over to Luffy.
“What are you doing?” Luffy asked. “Helping.” I said. “But you’re going to get hurt. I won’t.” Luffy said. “Well I already got hurt so what more can happen. Is Zoro okay?” I said. “He’s fine. He’s taking care of the other two.” Luffy said. “Did you really think that the two of you can get the best of me? I’m Kuro of the thousand plans.” Kuro said. But it was hard to tell where his voice was coming from. “Then come out and fight me.” Luffy said. “No you poor poor sap. So you think you want to be a pirate? And you girl don’t think I didn’t notice that mark on you. It’s from that clown am I right. I wonder what would happen if you were returned to him dead.” Kuro said. “I am a pirate.” Luffy said. “You heard what Luffy said he became strangely fond of me not only would Zoro hunt you to the day you die but so will Buggy.” I said. “You sound confident. Are you sure that those two cares enough to care about if you’re alive or dead.” Kuro said. “Then you don’t know Zoro he would put his life on the line to protect Y/n.” Luffy said. Kuro just laughed. “And how long have you been on the seas and know them? A week? A month?” Kuro said. Luffy and I both turned around and saw that Kuro was now behind us. “I was a captain of years and I never failed in a raid. Not once. And what did I get in return? A life of worry and a target on my back as wide the east blue?” Kuro said. Luffy tried to punch him but Kuro dodged it. “Is that what you want? Either of you? A lifetime of always looking over you shoulder.” Kuro said as he appeared in front of us I tried to hit him but missed.
“You’ll never get a peaceful night’s rest because someone’s always waiting to slit your throat. Pirates, Marines. Why even your own crew. But I have to say you might are going to have it worst girl. Traveling with a bounty hunter will make you a target to use against him to stop hunting whatever new bounty he’s after. As for being marked by that clown. Other pirates or marines could use you against him. You’re going to end up dead no matter who you chose it’s all a matter of how long you’ll last longer with.” Kuro said. “Not my crew.” Luffy said. “You have no idea what the hell you’re talking about.” I said. “We’ve got each other’s backs. Always.” Luffy said. I let out a cry of pain as I felt Kuro cut me again. “Until the day they don’t. I’ve killed more crewmembers than I care to remember. They’re expendable. Every single one of them.” Kuro said. I quickly check to now see four more cuts in the middle of my boobs. “Seriously again with cutting near my boobs. I swear the next pirate who cuts near my boobs I’m cutting their dick off.” I said.
“Being a pirate is not about raiding villages or perfect plans. It’s about adventure. And freedom.” Luffy said. Kuro laughs. “Freedom? There’s no such thing with a bounty on your head.” Kuro said. “You gave up on your dream. No one who does that can ever call themselves a pirate.” Luffy said. Kuro laughed again. “Looks like you’re the one giving up now.” Kuro said. I decided to swing again. But this time I hit Kuro in the face. By the amount of blood pouring out of his nose good chances are that I broke it. “No. I’m done talking. Now I’m listening.” Luffy said. Luffy was waiting on the perfect moment and he finally landed a hit on Kuro. “Didn’t plan for that did cha?” Luffy asked. I stepped back to let Luffy finish the fight with Kuro. Luffy grabbed Kuro arms pulling them apart from each other. “Gum Gum Bell.” Luffy said as his head stretches back then headbutts Kuro out of the window. I dropped the lamp to the ground. “Whoo!” Usopp yelled making me laugh. I went over to the others. “Are you okay?” I asked as I helped them up from the ground. “We’re fine. We should be asking you that.” Nami said. “I’ll be fine it’s not like these are deep. But we should go check on Zoro.” I said.
We made our way back to the front of the house to see that the Sham and Buchi were now tied up and Zoro was opening the doors to let the sunlight in some. As we got down the stairs Nami and I walked passed Sham who hissed at us. Being beyond done I kicked her in the face breaking her nose as well. “Wow you broke two people’s noses so close together I’m proud of you.” Nami said. “Why thank you.” I said smiling. “I’m sorry about the mess. You probably need some new staff.” Zoro said. “I think I’m done with staff for a bit.” Kaya said. “I dont blame you.” I said. “Too bad we can’t collect their bounty.” Zoro said. “No. No. The Marines already know where we are. We have to get out of here.” Nami said. “Where are we gonna go? We don’t even have a ship.” Luffy said. “Yes you do.” Kaya said. Luffy smirked over to Nami.
Within the next hour and a half, was spent rushing to get everything on the ship. I’m honestly surprised that we managed to get it done as fast as we did. Now the six of us were standing in the shipyard looking at the new ship that was going to be home to us. “Wow. That looks just like your lawyer friend.” Luffy said. “Merry ran the shipyard after my parents passed. He was their dearest colleague. My oldest companion.” Kaya said. “Then his memory will live on. I hereby name this ship the going merry!” Luffy said. “It’s yours now. Your new home.” Kaya said. “Thank you Kaya. Whoo! Yeah! We did it!” Luffy said as he threw his arms in the air as he hugged Zoro and Nami. “Oh come on how come you’re hugging Y/n.” Nami said. “I don’t want to bleed from my boobs again.” I said. “Usopp!” Luffy yelled and went over to him. I looked over to Nami and Zoro. “What are you waiting for? Get your stuff.” Luffy said. “What stuff?” Usopp asked. “You’re coming with us. Right?” Luffy said. “What? Uh. Uh. No. I. I couldn’t.” Usopp said. “Just come on already.” Zoro said. But I could see that Usopp kept looking over at Kaya. “I’m going to need a great sharp shooter. Just like Yasopp. And I saw what you did back there. Sticking up for your friends. That’s exactly the kind of guy I need on my crew.” Luffy said. “But. I couldn’t leave syrup village. What. What about Kaya? She needs me to take care of her.” Usopp asked. Kaya walked over to him. “Usopp you’ve been a great friend but I think it’s time I start taking care of myself.” Kaya said.
Nami, Zoro and I walked over to where Luffy was. “But I said I’d never leave you. And don’t you need help with the shipyard?” Usopp said. “The shipyard was my parents dream. I think I might do something different. Like study to become a doctor.” Kaya said. “So I guess this is goodbye.” Usopp said. “I’ll see you again someday. And when I do I expect to hear all about the real adventures of Captain Usopp.” Kaya said and kissed him. “They. They do know I’m the captain right?” Luffy asked. “Let them have this one.” Nami said putting a hand on his shoulder. “Yeah Luffy.” I said. We watched as they pulled away from their kiss. “Well we should get going before the Marines find us.” Nami said. We all made our way up. “Don’t worry Kaya I’ll keep an eye on him. Nami and I both will as you can tell from Luffy and Zoro we already have our hands full.” I said. “I appreciate it Y/n. I can’t wait to see you and Nami again.” Kaya said and hugged me. “Us too.” I said hugging her back.
I climbed on board the going merry and as we sat sail we all waved to Kaya. I watched as Luffy rush over to the sheep head. “Be careful. You know what happens if you fall.” I said. “I know.” Luffy said. “Such mom words.” Zoro said. “You think you’re so funny don’t you.” I said. “I do actually.” Zoro said. “Hate you.” I said smiling. “Hate you more.” Zoro said. “Well I’m going to go fix us all something to eat. Maybe we should look for a cook next because I can only do so much.” I said. “Well until then I know that we’ll appreciate it. You’re a decent cook.” Zoro said. I smiled shaking my head as I went down to the kitchen to fix an early lunch.
Nami and Zoro were the first two to come down and eat. I sat a plate for Usopp and Luffy aside along with the extra I made because Luffy is a bottomless pit of a growing boy. “Thanks for cooking lunch for us Y/n. It’s really good.” Nami said. “I know Zoro told you to tell me that but I’m glad you like it. I might not be the best cook but I can manage until we find someone else.” I said. “I didn’t tell her to tell you anything you need to give yourself more credit.” Zoro said. “He’s right. Just look how much you have changed over the past few days.” Nami said. “Thanks guys.” I said smiling.
It wasn’t long before Luffy and Usopp came to join us. “Lunch is ready boys. I already set a plate for both of you and don’t worry Luffy I made more.” I said. “Thanks.” Both of the boys said. I noticed Usopp was holding something. “What’s that?” I asked. “You guys must check this out. Using my unparalleled artistic talent I made use a new jolly roger for the ship.” Usopp said. Usopp handed it over to Luffy as he opened it to show us. Of course he made it look like him. I looked at Nami and Zoro who had the same expression as I did. “I know. I know. My flair for design often leaves people speechless.” Usopp said. “Yeah I’m not sure that is what’s happening right now.” I said. Luffy pretty much shoved the flag to Usopp. “I already drew our flag.” Luffy said. “Okay but this one is so much better.” Usopp said. “Boys you two better behave or I’ll put you both in time out.” I said. “Neither of the flags are gonna scare anyone away.” Zoro said. “Okay but the jolly roger is supposed to reflect the captain.” Usopp said wrapping the flag around himself like a blanket. “I am the captain. We are the straw hat crew.” Luffy said. “They call me captain Usopp.” Usopp said. As they both started bickering about who will be the captain. Making me and Nami both laugh then it got the boys to laugh. “You see. This is what it’s all about. From now on it’s all gonna be smooth sailing.” Luffy said.
“You better not have just jinxed us Luffy.” I said. Then then sounds of cannon fire was heard and then there was an explosion. “Thanks for opening your mouth Luffy.” I said. “What was that?” Uospp asked. That was met with more cannon fire. “Y/n’s right you had to open your mouth.” Nami said. We all ran out of the kitchen and on deck. Nami and I were the first to climb the stairs. “Marines! We’re under attack!” Nami yelled. Luffy grabbed a telescope to see if by any chance it was some marines that we already had a run in with. “Grandpa?” Luffy said confused. Wait a damn minute. “Grandpa?” Nami, Zoro and Usopp asked. “I’m sorry but bitch what?” I said.

Ghost!Roger Au is so good, I wonder if other ghosts have decided to talk with Perona as well? Will Rouge also give a shovel talk too?
If Luffy and his crew comes over, will Ace come out and start talking about Luffy in his classic fashion? So many ideas could happen
YEAH
Perona absolutely talks to many spirits, some kinder than others, and when she learns Buggy can see and talk to them easily, she is absolutely vibrating beyond the physical plane.
Rouge absolutely gives her own shovel talks. Somehow hers is scarier that Roger's. Perona wants to be like granny Rouge one day.
I genuinely believe Perona got Zoro to do a board session with her over the two years, so he knows she has it and can talk to spirits ((and they send letters bc they're siblings send tweet)), so when they all meet up, Buggy is trying - in vain - to escape a rubbery tangled death trap that is supposed to be a hug, and Zoro is staring his not-dad and not-sister with the protective fury of a thousand suns.
It only gets complicated when, between one moment and the next Buggy goes stock still. Perona tilts her head with a hum. The clown just falls over and Luffy is giggling his head off while Mihawk and Crocodile straighten up. The strawhats are watching on warily.
Buggy, still smothered, just goes "Pero-chan, be a dear and pull our your board please. Grandpa is being annoying again."
"Okay mama Bug!"
She proceeds to lay out a comically large board, sets a piece of wood down and nobody even touches the planchet before it's zooming across the board
L-U-F-F-Y-L-U-F-F-Y-L-U-F-F-Y-L-U-
"YEAH WE GET IT, GET ON WITH IT!!!"
H-I
"Oh my gods"
It's a hot mess honestly and many people are Suspicious of Foul Play, especially because Ace is such a sore spot for Luffy even now, but Lu's smarter than he lets on. He asks for proof that Ace is there.
S-H-I-T-T-Y-G-R-A-M-P-S-K-I-L-L-E-D-K-E-V-I-N
Luffy bursts into tears. The crews are about to explode. Buggy's still being used as a stuffed animal by a teenage boy.
Luffy babbles about how it IS Ace and yeah Gramps DID kill Kevin and how is this happening and he's sorry and-
C-R-Y-B-A-B-Y
"You jerk!!!"
Roger and Rouge get to formally meet Luffy then, and Ace introduces Roger as his 'not as shitty old man', which is high praise.
Hours later, Luffy rests his head against Buggy's shoulder and asks how he knew to ask Pinkie for the board.
"My Haki's not built like everyone else," he says haltingly. "I see.... stuff that isn't really supposed to be seen."
"Magic eyes?"
"Basically."
"Cool.... does.... does Shanks know?"
"About the magic eyes or about Roger?"
"Yeah"
"Then yeah. He does. Old Fucker haunts us both"
"Huh...."
There's silence for a bit.
Buggy's not sure why he wants to break it, why he wants to say anything. He still does
"Firefist spends a lot of time away from here. He checks on his crewmates, he's said. But he checks on you, too. Came back one time raving mad about some 'blond twink ass' having the audacity to be alive, for some reason. But he watches over you the most, I think."
"Shishishi... yeah. Sabo died when we were kids. But he didn't die! Just got amnesia. He's better now."
"Sabo?"
"Blond twink"
"Ah. Well. Kid, your life is a fucking drama."
"Yep! It's fun, huh? Thanks, uncle Buggy"
"Don't call me that"
"I'm gonna do it anyway."
"Ugh..."
Roger and Rouge are watching on warmly. ((Ace would be too if he wasn't currently playing with the bonfire and making Chopper laugh))

Fic #4 (Zosan)
Zoro sheathed his sword.
It was done. He had won.
He was breathing heavily, blood dripping from his mouth. He was cut everywhere, and he had been stabbed more than once. But he would probably be okay.
Sanji gaped in horror. He had come to collect Zoro and take him back to the ship, knowing he couldn’t get there on his own. Zoro’s sense of direction is terrible. He had witnessed the end of the fight, and though Zoro had won, he was barely breathing now. It shocked him he was still alive.
Suddenly, Zoro collapsed.
Sanji ran towards him as fast as he could. He held him.
“Zoro,” he said. “Zoro. Zoro Zoro Zoro. Come on. Wake up. Please.” Tears formed in Sanji’s eyes. He held his marimo close. “Come on. Let’s get you to Chopper.” Zoro was limp in Sanji’s arms. Sanji sprinted for the Going Merry, hoping Chopper could still save him. He probably could. I mean, he’s Chopper.
Sanji ran on deck, throwing open the door to Chopper’s office.
“Sanji?” Chopper looked at the limp Zoro in Sanji’s arms. His eyes grew wide and he immediately started preparing to keep Zoro alive. Sanji could feel Zoro’s breath against his chest. At least he’s still breathing.
“Put him down there,” Chopper instructed. Sanji gently laid him down on the bed Chopper had motioned to.
Sanji left the office to let Chopper work. God, oh God, oh God. Please, please let him be okay. Sanji prayed. He buried his head in his hands. He could feel the tears welling in his eyes as he leaned against the door to the room.
He started to cry.
He hated crying. It was a sign of weakness. But he couldn’t stop it. His marimo had to be okay. He had to.
A few hours later, Sanji had fallen asleep next to the door, waiting for Zoro to emerge. He woke up to the creak of the door as Chopper opened it. Sanji scrambled to his feet. Chopper was looking at the floor.
“So how is he? Is he okay? He’s alive, right??” Chopper looked up, tears in the corners of his eyes. “Yeah. He’s alive.”
Sanji ran into the room, where Zoro was lying peacefully in the bed Sanji had laid him down in, sleeping. As Sanji approached, Zoro opened his eyes. He smiled at the sight of his shitty cook.
“Oh my God, you’re alive. Thank God.” Sanji sat on the side of the bed.
“No, thank Chopper. He’s the one who did all the work.” Zoro smiled. “He’s exhausted.”
“It’s hard keeping you alive.” Sanji said. Zoro laughed, then winced. Sanji frowned. “Moss head, you still have to rest. You’re not fully healed.”
“Cook, I’m fine. Leave me alone.”
And then, Sanji leaned down and kissed him. “There. That shut you up?” Zoro was blushing. Sanji got up to leave, and…
Zoro grabbed his arm, pulled him towards him and…
Kissed him back.

Do you think Luffy's death would have an impact on Dragon and Crocodile? it's a very headcanon question, but also, Luffy is surrounded by death flags as we get closer to the end of the series
Gonna put Dragon aside because I feel like we still know so little about him I don't really have a good read on him and how he'd feel. I mean I'm sure he'd be sad but there's like a range of ways he might express that sorrow (the range going from Zoro-esque stoicism to Franky-"I'm not crying"-ism, which is quite a wide range)
But as for Croccywocky himself. The short answer is that we actually kind of already know he might react if Luffy died? Post-War Luffy had been MIA for multiple weeks, and while we don't know what Crocodile himself was doing during that time, the way Daz talks to him about "wounds like that" needing "time to heal" and how Crocodile acknowedged it as Daz getting sassy at him? Yeah, the implication may be that Crocodile was moping for the past few weeks. Which makes sense if he had been unsure if Luffy had even managed to escape Marineford alive, let alone how the trauma of losing Ace would impact his psyche. So, much like how Crocodile had seemingly given up on live after his plans to take over Alabasta were foiled, if Luffy were to die now I feel like he'd fall into a similar depression as that, if much worse and deeper this time.
But you brought up Luffy's death flags, and anon, you see... You have now opened up a can of worms. Because we can't possibly discuss Luffy's death flags and how Crocodile might react to Luffy dying without also bringing up Law's Immortality Operation and Crocodile's own death flags
So, long answer, here we go
So yes, Luffy has some vague death flags going on; the many mentions especially during the pre-timeskip era, about Luffy pushing himself too much and causing too much damage to himself, shortening his lifespan in the process. Now, I genuinely do not think One Piece is going to end with Luffy dead, Oda would not give our rubbery protagonist a sad ending like that (similarly to how I don't think he'll kill ANY of the Strawhats). The timeskip itself was very specifically caused by Luffy realizing he was still far too weak to fulfill his dreams, to the point that if he and the crew just reunited and headed straight for the New World, they really would end up dead. Luffy had to learn this reality the hard way by losing Ace, yes, but Oda had been foreshadowing that reality since Baratie through how Don Krieg and his crew got fucked up not just by the Grand Line but by Mihawk. The Grand Line was always built up as being a dangerous sea most people could not survive, the most recent reminder of that having been Moria, a god damn Shichibukai the crew had to gang up on to defeat, who told us he had lost his entire crew in the New World. We have to be real here, most of the big threats the Strawhats had faced up until this point they had survived partially through dumb fucking luck*, and they were not keeping up with the powerscaling. That's why Luffy was starting to push himself so hard it started to impact his lifespan, they weren't ready for the New World, and if they continued on, they would end up dead. *Croc was overconfident and rusty after sitting on his ass for over a decade and didn't take Luffy seriously until it was too late. Luffy had an inherent DF advantage against Enel and without said lucky advantage would not have been able to beat him. Aokiji spared the Strawhats as a part of his own justice, but Luffy could not have been able to beat him otherwise. Moria was very much the same as Croc with the overconfidence, rustiness and not taking the Strawhats seriously until it was too late, but also the Strawhats literally had to gang up together on Moria to defeat him. Like I don't want to downplay the achievements of the Strawhats and how much stronger they genuinely had become during all their adventures, but at the same time- a lot of the time, they only won thanks to luck. They genuinely were not ready for the New World at this point
Now yes, there are still more death flags going on for Luffy (his heart literally stopping and his Vivre card burning away while fighting Kaidou being just one), but the major ones are pre-timeskip. And because of that, I don't think too much about them anymore. They mattered because they were part of the timeskip. And the timeskip happened, so to me? It feels like the death flags may be partially solved?
But Oda is bonkers, and you can never know, maybe he'll raise another 15 death flags in the next 3 chapters alone, who knows. But that circles back to what I said earlier; I don't think Oda would kill Luffy.
And that's where we get to Law, and where things get interesting. Because indeed, the Ope Ope Fruit grants Law the ability to make someone immortal, though at the cost of his own life. Needless to say, that is a huge ass Chekhov's Gun right there. And to be fair, we do already have one potential pay-off with the existence of the Immortality Operation, that being Imu's probable own immortality. Because Imu can be the pay-off for the Chekhov's Gun, we don't really need to have Law end up sacrificing himself to make someone else immortal, and let's be real, I can't really think of anyone Law would love so much he'd be willing to die like that for their sake.
But at the same time. The fact that Law is fully capable of doing the operation means the gun isn't off the table yet. And Luffy's theoretical death flags do make for a scary combo.
Now we don't actually know all that much about the Immortality Operation aside from the fact that it would cause the user to die. Now... this is wild ass speculation from me, but. Sometimes, Oda can and does give us misleading information. Either because he hadn't fully decided on some lore/backstory things (like Pell's infamous "there's only five Devil Fruit that grant the user the ability to fly" line, or arguably Baby Bonney art in the SBS), or because he didn't want to give us the full story yet and there was room for some in-universe propaganda (Robin having sunk a fleet of Marine ships as a small child being the cause of her bounty) With that in mind... The Ope Ope Fruit is most effective in the hands of a skilled surgeon/doctor, right. Because you need great medical knowledge to operate on people, right. I fully do believe that the Immortality Operation does come with the cost of a human life, but... what if the life doesn't actually HAVE to be the user's own life? What if they actually COULD use literally anyone's life for the operation, but the surgeon refuses this, because taking someone else's life to not just save another but make them immortal would go against the role and the very honor of a doctor?
Because, if that were the case, suddenly the door that is Law's Chekhov's Gun opens up a little more. Law, as I currently see him, would not sacrifice his own life to make a dying Luffy immortal (not unless they were in some real deep shit to begin with and on the verge of death anyway and it was the only way for Law to ensure the safety of his crew etc) But if Luffy was on the verge of death and Law could save him by making him immortal, by sacrificing someone else's life for the operation... That... I could see happen
Of course, as I mentioned before, while I'm sure any and all of the Strawhats would be willing to sacrifice their lifes to save Luffy via immortality, Oda would not kill off any one of them. If any one of them died for Luffy's sake, that would break him. Luffy loves his crew, his friends, so much. Oda wouldn't do that to him. Not again. And even if any of the Strawhats asked, I doubt Law would be willing to kill any of them to save Luffy, not on his honor as a doctor.
Which is why Crocodile would do it.
If all Crocodile ever wanted was for his son to be free and live however he wanted, without being hunter by the WG for sport, and they finally managed to overthrow the WG at the cost of Luffy's life... Like what would be the point in that? All those years of pain and struggling, finally achieving victory and for what? For his son to just die, just when he'd become free? Crocodile couldn't possibly accept that, could he? And sure, I don't think Law would immidiately be like "oh you wanna die to make Strawhat-ya immortal? Sure, c'mon in, we'll do the operation right away sir", I'm sure his pride as a doctor would still instinctually stop him. But I'm sure Croc would be able to convince Law with a few threats of destroying the whole world with his bare hands and forcing Law to watch if he didn't agree to do save his son's life. Because you know he would do that, if only to spite Law at that point. And even if Law had somekind of objections aboit doing it because Luffy wouldn't be okay with someone dying for his sake... If Luffy never finds out about them being related, if Crocodile only remains as 'that asshole who tried to take Vivi's country and hurt his friends' in Luffy's heart... Croc dying for Luffy's sake would not hurt him. Especially if Luffy never even learned the truth about why and how he died. Because Luffy wouldn't lose someone he cared about. They can just tell Luffy Crocodile succumbed to his wounds or something.
Almost a year ago I started writing this essay about Crocodile's death flags in the story, and I never finished it. I struggled with it for a long time because, while I feel like there might be an argument to be made for Croc having death flags, it's kind of... vague. Like the things you could read as death flags only come in hindsight if/when you start projecting Crocodad Propaganda into Alabasta especially, and without that projection it's dubious if it's even there. Like I feel like there might be something there, about a man who seemed to have cared about nothing and no one except himself, willing to sacrifice anyone else for his own ambition, only for him to do a true sacrifice and give up his own life for someone he does care about. But also, One Piece has this running theme of people sacrificing themselves, and when the sacrifice is rewarded by the narrative is so complicated (Sanji offering his head to Kuma because he considdered his life to be the most worthless in the crew vs Zoro offering his head because he genuinely believed he could survive whatever Kuma had to offer vs every single parental figure in the story who sacrificed their lives for their family)-- if Crocodile did (attempt to) sacrifice his life for Luffy, what category would it even fall under? Would, no, COULD the story reward him for it? But I can't quite find the words for it, and I can't quite come to a satisfying conclusion about whether or not those death flags even are there to begin with. I don't know how to write that essay. So you're getting this condenced footnotes version
And once again, I don't know how to end this post.
But indeed, I don't think Oda would kill Luffy at the end of the story. At most, I could see him get brought once again to the verge of death, and if Law doesn't have to die to save Luffy via immortality... Unironically, if Crocodad Real, Croc'll be the one who'll die at the end.
Second option is Garp if only because of Garp's own beliefs about how an old geezer like him should die to save the youngin's + to atone for Ace's death + he probably can't bear to lose Luffy too

Hi Quin <3
I may or may not have gone through your entire catalog haha (^///^) Thank you for feeding us all so well ☆ Such stunning works!!!!! (シ_ _ )シ
I was wondering, I find that I keep on reading the same people a lot. Have you discovered some cool new people to read from recently? any great recs? stuff you keep coming back to?
Anyways, you're awesome!! And I can't wait to read what you come up with next!!!!!
=O Sideblogs and everything?
...
Σ(っ °Д °;)っ
(*/ω\*)
Goodness. ❤️I'm glad you enjoyed my stuff enough to read all that. I'm a terribly wordy ^^;
Ah! But hmmm... I do tend to read from many of the same folks, especially since I ended up surrounded by impressive writers.
But let's do this:
@swampstew - if you follow me, you know her. I cannot fathom otherwise, and if you don't, start here.
this is @icy-spicy's master list - I'd have that cold shower ready before you start, but there's more than One Piece there.
@mydisenchantedeulogy writes for a lot of fandoms, her words are so good I'm a fan of her stories without even having seen the universes they come from.
@un-shit-yourself is a long time real life friend, and a fantastic writer. Mostly Dragon Age, but the writing pulls you in. We chat, but we don't usually cross post, so you probably don't know about this one even if you do follow me.
@zoros-sheath - if you haven't read Magnets, start there, otherwise go hog wild. I can't imagine you're going to find anything bad.
@standfucker - whew, I look - Zen makes me wonder why I even write because what she writes is just too goddamn hot. Y'all don't need me, you got her. (I say this in jest, I'm going nowhere I promise) White Out and Rotation are two of my favorites, but Stowing Away to Save Yourself is something I specifically requested and gods was I served well.
@writing-yarn-goblin and @lyndsyh24 and @theaceofflamesposts are here, but you're more likely to enjoy the first two on Wattpad and the last on Ao3. Lyn's getting more active here, but her library is full of good stuff - fluffier than my usual work, but just as good imo. Lyn is one of the biggest reasons y'all get to deal with me at all. She was a saint when I stumbled into Wattpad.
I love @heyitsdoe and @/bas-writes stuff - they are both phenomenal writers. Bas has shifted away from OP a little and is more into JJK, but if you're looking for solid fic to read, then you will find tons there and I promise you'll enjoy it =3 Doe is super sweet and her writing is always a full meal, I've commissioned her and it was far and away worth every penny.
Honestly, I'd really recommend checking out my Following page. I leave it public, but everyone on it is either a friend, a writer, an artist, or some combination of all three.
I could go on in this post for like 5,000 more words and not hit everyone who has delighted me. @cyborg-franky @coza-main @lerya-fanfic @leakyweep @leftsidebonfire -- I'm going to hit a damn tag limit again.
@thus-spoke-lo is a little on the darker side, but gods alive I love her work, and I could read it for hours if I had the hours to spare.
@vizkopa writes in a way that helped me loosen up and write more how I wanted to, so thank her for that, and enjoy what she's got - mostly on Wattpad I believe? I know that's where I've read it.
Seriously, just peruse my followers, if you need something new.
But know that like me, they're 18+ and that's a boundary for their comfort as much as anything else. So don't break that.

๑ keep safe : that god guy thing (25)
it's coming up, it's coming up
it's coming up, it's coming up
it's coming up, it's coming up
it's dare.
『 prev 』
“nami can take care of herself just fine, there’s no need to be that worried, conis, papaya,” [name] said through his mouthful of food, making robin sprout a hand from the table and wipe his mouth to make him not so disgusting to look at.
he grinned at her in thanks before refocusing on the angel and her father.
“even then, there is a place that we are never allowed to step foot in — sacred ground. we call that place, upper yard, the land where god lives,” conis said, a grave expression on her face.
“there’s a god?! in a place where we’re never supposed to set food in?!”
“god…like that god?!”
”yes, since skypiea is god’s land, the almighty god enel rules over it. god enel knows everything in this world. he’s also watching us all the time.”
“even now?!”
”of course,”
[name] had to stifle his laughter behind his hand, not wanting to blatantly offend the worried girl — especially with how passionate she was about god enel. but there was no way! no way, he was buying into this crap. he was never religious to begin with and their setting and enviornment wasn't going to change that fact.
sure their journey to the sky island was a miracle in of itself, as is the scenary that is surrounding them, but there was just no way [name] would ever believe in any god. if god was truly real, then all the world’s issues wouldn’t exist.
if god was real, [name] would never had to experience everything he had to go through.
“hmph, god, huh?” zoro mused, taking a sip of his drink.
[name] felt thankful that his sentiments were shared with one other person.
“you don’t believe in god, zoro?” chopper asked with a concerned look on his face.
”i don’t know. whether or not god exists doesn’t matter to me. i couldn’t care less from the beginning. but i don’t intend to deny those who want to believe,” zoro said, speaking only to chopper, who was looking at him with wide eyes and an agape mouth.
“so, have you seen that god who lives in upper yard, conis-chan?” sanji calmly asked.
“no! god forbid! we cannot step in upper yard. never…the sacred ground, upper yard, is forbidden,”
just as she said that, it was almost as if a ringing in all of their heads went off. slowly, they turned to their captain — who like they expected — was grinning ear to ear. sparkles and stars were practically dancing around his seemingly innocent expression.
“i see. a place that we’re not allowed to go to no matter what, huh?” he said with a light, cheery tone.
even when usopp began shaking his captain back and forth, to knock some sense into him, there was no way his words were actually getting through to luffy. not with that dazed, “lovestruck” look on luffy’s face, anyway.
“ah, conis, you should’ve not said anything to begin with about that place,” [name] sighed, leaning into the comfortable cushion and rubbing his stomach, “well, whatever, it was bound to happen either way. luffy has a knack for exploring new islands and getting himself into all sorts of trouble,”
“trouble? oh, but you absolutely cannot this time around!” conis said, turning to luffy with her eyebrows furrowed in worry, “this is the almighty god enel, much different than any past adventures you’ve been on, i’m sure!”
“it won’t make a difference to him,” [name] said under his breath.
“so, what happens if someone goes into that forbidden upper yard?”
“the person cannot come back alive. everyone believes so,”
“but, what if they’re just looking for an adventure?” [name] hummed, rubbing his chin in thought. “i mean, going to upper yard probably means you have to face judgement, doesn’t it? if it’s the sacred god’s fobidden land, what if you just want to adventure?”
usopp’s jaw dropped at [name]’s thoughts, walking over and hitting him over the head multiple times, “what on earth do you think it matters to god if you’re just there to adventure?! forbidden means forbidden! obviously, no matter if you’re there for adventure or punishment, god is going to kill you!!”
“why would god kill you…? isn’t god supposed to be nice, or something,” [name] said in annoyance, pestered at the idea that there was a seemingly “real” god lurking on the sky island. it was even more annoying knowing that he was apparently listening in on their conversation right now.
“i’m worried about nami-san, i hope she isn’t near upper yard,”
now that made [name] still. his e/c eyes turned angry immediately, glaring at the old man — even though he wasn’t really at fault — and saying in a lowly tone, “if something happens to nami, then i’m gonna humble this god really quick,”
“no! [name]-san! you mustn’t say such things!” conis said, pressing her hand against [name]’s mouth to silence him before he says anything else blasphemous.
[name] would have gone shouting out about how god wasn’t real anyway, but usopp and chopper also added their hands on top of conis’, seemingly reading his mind.
“nami-san!!!” sanji’s worried voice echoed over the white land, making [name]’s face cringe in distaste.
usopp got distracted in trying to level luffy’s need to go to the forbidden land while chopper was shushing [name] in a hurry, not wanting his anti-religious words to reach the ears of the god.
”please! please, [name]! you can’t get us in trouble with someone like god!”
“god isn’t-”
“no!!” the hooves were pressed onto [name]’s mouth in an instant and [name] and chopper kept wrestling until they were both too tired out of their minds to continue on.
“god enel sure seems scary,” chopper panted, his tongue hanging out of his mouth as he tried to steady his breathing from his fight with [name].
“god enel sound like an ass-”
“noo!!!” usopp and chopper cried in unison, jumping on top of his frame and stuffing his mouth with food to distract him, “hm!! see, yummy, yummy seafood, [name]!!”
immediately, his expression brightened and he obediently ate the food that was shoved in his mouth, “you’re right, it’s super yummy! thanks, usopp!”
‘thank god, he’s an idiot.’ usopp sweat dropped, relaxing his hold on [name] and falling onto his broad chest in fatigue, ‘keeping up with both luffy and [name] is exhausting,’
“ah, usopp, if you were tired, you should’ve just said so,” [name] said, bringing more food into his mouth whilst he held the sniper close to his chest, “go on, take a nap, i’ve heard from luffy i’m a real comfy bed!”
“humans aren’t beds,” usopp weakly protested, but with the way [name]’s muscular arm was caging him in, he had no choice but to lay limp on his torso. and he really almost did feel his tiredness from their journey, and his near death experiences, get to him. soon, his eyes were feeling as if they were becoming heavier and heavier and heavier…till they shot open in surprise as their bodies were throttled upwards.
“how can you two just enjoy nap time when nami could be out there right now in tremendous danger?!”
[name] and usopp both looked frazzled at their sudden awakening, then shivered in fear at the glare sanji was shooting their way. it definitely wasn’t a welcoming sight, especially when it was the first thing they saw when they woke up.
the crew decided that they would go searching for nami to make sure that she didn’t get hurt on her journey with her waver. so they all climbed back on board merry. but with pagaya telling them they’d have to wait for a wind to take get their ship moving, they were essentially stuck in place.
[name] groaned in annoyance, looking out at the vast white sea, “my eyes hurt looking at this shit,” he said under his breath, his words apparently amusing robin since she chuckled at his statement. “you agree, right, robin?”
“well, i think maybe your eyes are just exceptionally sensitive to bright light?” she mused, entertaining him.
“i think maybe you're right,” [name] said, rubbing his eyes and collapsing onto the deck on his back as he gave himself a break.
”first you get seasick because of a whirlpool and now this? you certainly don’t seem as terrifying as the bounty on your head makes you seem,”
“the newspaper and marines lie anyway,” [name] said, cringing as he remembered the way his stomach ached earlier, “also that’s just my reaction to when we get really close to stuff like cyclones or whirlpools…usually, i never get that close so i didn't have to experience that for a long time,”
“really?” robin said, genuine interest laced in her voice.
“yeah, it hurts a whole lot,” [name] sighed, thinking back to his memories when he’d suffer stomach aches or bouts of sickness whenever he passed storms on the sea. “bleh, i don’t want to think about it!”
“has the ship never encountered anything of that sort before then?”
“with nami being such a good navigator, i haven’t had to worry about it so much. hmm, also i can feel it usually before it gets bad. so i would just sail away from wherever the whirplool or cyclone would be,” [name] mulled over his thoughts aloud, making robin engaged in the new information.
as the two were conversing very calmly, the others on deck were all shouting at their idiot captain for trying to fetch nami himself. he brought out the old waver they salvaged from the ship on the grand line, which obviously didn’t work and instead sent him sinking into the white sea.
after retrieving the idiot captain, everyone settled back on just waiting on the shore. but [name] stayed on deck to catch up on his napping, resting his eyes underneath his forearm to cover his sight from the sun above head.
robin and zoro kept him company on deck, acting as silent companions.
but, of course! his second moment of silence had to be interuppted yet again. because just as he was getting comfortable, an odd group of individuals crawling towards the rest of their crew.
the three of them jumped off of the deck and walked up to the others. [name] groggily placing his chin on luffy’s shoulders as he tried to nap. the uncomfortable position was worth ignoring if it meant he could get a couple more seconds in.
“huh? who are you guys?” luffy asked, tilting his head to the side.
“so you’re the seven illegal entrants who came from the blue sea?! i’ll humbly bring upon heaven’s judgement onto you!”
conis and pagaya made sounds of surprise, as did some of the straw hats, but for different reasons. the father-daughter duo had just been told they had been hospitably treating supposed criminals and the straw hats just learned that they were the said supposed criminals.
“hey, that’s not what the old hag at the gate said,” [name] said, eyes still shut as he felt no immediate threat coming from them.
“however! there’s no need to get panicked yet! illegal entry is only an 11th degree crime according to heaven’s judgement! once you accept your punishment, you can become legal tourists on the spot.”
“i still don’t see how we’re illegal entrants anyway-”
“shut up!” usopp said, hastily slapping a hand on [name]’s mouth.
“oh, you should’ve said so sooner,” sanji said, not paying mind to how usopp was practically suffocating [name] behind him. “i still don’t like it, but just what is this punishment?”
“it’s simple. please pay ten times the entrance fee. if you pay right now, we’ll humbly write off your crime,” [name] rubbed his forehead in exasperation, remembering that they didn’t even get an equivalent of what extols were in beri. “10 billion beri extol per person, in other words, 70 billion extol for all seven of you!”
“ten thousand extol is one beri,” [name] sighed as he couldn’t find the will in himself to do math to calculate that.
“that means 7 million beris.” robin answered in an instant.
“that’s expensive!!” sanji and [name] cried out in unison.
“do you realize how much rice we could buy with that?! after risking our lives just to come up to the sky, why do we have to pay that much to enter!”
“yeah, we need that money for our food!”
“what are you saying? if that was the case, all you had to do was pay 700,000 beris when you entered!”
“we’re saying — we didn’t know how much an extol was in beri and!!! no one even told us!”
“perhaps you didn’t pursue an answer hard enough,” the leader bit back with a sneer, making [name] clench his fist and wave it in front of him menacingly.
“oh, i’ll show you how hard i can-”
”[name]! quit it, you’re going to make it worse!” usopp shouted, once more taking on the task of wrangling the aggravated man into his arms to calm him down.
“consider this a forewarning! but we, the white berets, are the unit directly under god’s priests! please be careful, as arguing raises the degree of your crime!”
“oh, whatever. let’s just forget this guy.” sanji said, not paying attention to what the man of authority was saying. neither was anyone else in the crew, honestly. “more importantly, we’d better find nami-san! i’m worried! she may be crying right now!!”
“what if she got to meet god without us?” [name] pouted, “if that guy’s even real!”
all of the white berets flinched at his wording and watched with wide eyes as he easily laughed off the blasphemous claim. they were too shocked to even hear what the crew was talking about.
[name] glared at them for a split second when he noticed they were still all death glaring at the crew. he stepped forward, his hands on his hips, “why are you staring so hard? we’re not doing anything wrong right now, are we?”
“you refuse to pay the entrance fee, refuse to pay for your crimes, we are watching you in suspicion of volatile actions!”
“well! actually, we are waiting for one of our other crew members to arrive, she is sure enough to have this type of money laying around,” usopp chided in, deciding to step in front of [name]’s intimidating figure to ease the tension.
“usopp, out of the way — these guys obviously don’t care about the consequences of their actions,”
“it is you who doesn’t care for the consequences of their actions!” the leader corrected in a dignified voice. “here you are! making trouble for you and your friends with your attitude, it’s despicable!”
[name] dryly laughed, going to step forward, but was quickly held back by usopp. the sniper looked up at [name] pleadingly, “you gotta wait till nami gets back before doing something irrational!! she’s gotta have some spare beri to hand over to these guys! just don’t let this situation get any more worse!”
“he’s the one that needs to hold his tongue, or i’ll cut it out of his mouth,” [name] whispered back to usopp, lowering his voice due to how the white berets would probably take it as a threat (to [name], he didn’t think he was threatening them — he was just stating a prediction). but usopp shivered where he stood as it so easily came off as a threat.
“no! no more of that attitude, just go sit by the shore and sulk there! don’t ruin this for all of us,” usopp said, shoving [name] to the cloudy ground a couple of feet away and continuing his bartering with the man. and since usopp was visibly desperate for him to listen, he gave in.
[name] clicked his tongue in annoyance, finding the entire situation annoying. still, he did as told, taking a nap on the shore and not paying any mind to their surroundings. he shut his eyes, hoping for some quiet.
ironically enough, the first thing he heard when he woke up was the man screaming at the top of his lungs. he groggily lifted his head and took in the scene in front of him.
nami was back, still riding the waver. and the man that was pestering them earlier was laying on the floor with his teeth knocked out.
“what happened?”
“oh, we just sealed our fate in being hated criminals all over this island,” usopp simply said, “and we might get the death penalty!”
“free ticket to meeting god, then,” [name] shrugged, getting up and brushing his hands over his clothes to rid it of any dust. “unbelievable to think these people are right under that god guy thing,”
“you guys are taking this too casually!! the death penalty is real and you may get caught in some really bad and serious business,” conis exclaimed, worriedly looking at all of them. “so please, use this chance to get away from here!”
[name] blinked in disinterest, more-so focusing on the way the white berets were crawling away with a stretcher of their leader on top of them. it seemed pagaya offered to treat the man, so they were going back to their house. those were conis’ last words she exchanged with the crew before taking off and running after her father.
“if anything, she has a point,” nami said after they watched her run off, “i saw it with my own eyes. an island with these scary guys on it!”
at nami’s confession, usopp and chopper stiffened while luffy and [name] grinned in pleasure.
“the place you’re forbidden to go to?!”
“god, huh?”
usopp and chopper immediately tried to stop them from getting any ideas of venturing there, but it was too late — the two were sold on going.
“god — guerilla — if anything, that place is no good! we’re leaving now! we’re leaving!” nami reiterated, giving the both of them a stern glare.
“but-”
“no buts!” nami said, stomping over and kicking [name] hard enough that he went flying onto the deck of merry, “and you stay there! don’t even think of moving or else!!”
“since when did you even have the ability to kick that hard?!” [name] said, rubbing his butt since he landed right on his ass.
the rest of them soon joined him on deck, sanji swooning over the fact nami kicked him with so much power. he wasn’t listening on what he was saying, really, but he heard something along the lines of soulmates and the power of kicking being a shared trait amongst lovers. [name], like the others that heard his rambling, cringed at his distasteful words.
[name] scooted over to the railing, his face being pressed in between the wooden pegs so he could stare at nami and luffy on shore. they were standing there for quite a long time and usopp was getting angsty.
and then, the white berets reappeared with their leader looking mad as ever. they talked, or argued, for a couple of seconds before they sprung an attack on luffy and nami.
[name] grit his teeth in annoyance, watching as the arrows that were shot out created lanes of clouds. the white berets had special shoes on that allowed them to glide on the surface, making [name] at least be interested in the fight. he cheered and clapped when he saw luffy easily level all of them out.
seeing as there was no more threat on the beach (the white berets crawled away after their defeat), the rest of the crew were now standing alone on the shore. [name] yawned, feeling tired of all the conflict that was going on around them.
nami and luffy began arguing and [name] laughed when chopper jumped into his lap to shield himself from the fight. he was sitting on the ground with his legs crossed, so he easily took chopper into his arms for a light embrace.
unfortunately for nami, no matter how many scoldings she tried putting into luffy’s head, he wasn’t getting the idea. he wanted to go on an adventure, and he made a good point in saying that they couldn’t have come all this way to pass up on the oppurtunity.
nami sighed before simply commanding everyone to follow on board so they could stop troubling conis and pagaya already.
“oh wait! food! old guy, can we get some food for our adventure?!” luffy shouted before they could board. “sanji, c’mon, this old guy will definitely let us!!”
“don’t just make decisions for other people!” sanji scolded, kicking down on luffy’s head. then he switched facial expressions to politely ask pagaya, “is it alright if we use your kitchen one last time?”
“oh, no, no trouble at all,”
“wait, thinking back on it, you said you were an engineer right?” usopp said, grinning ear to ear, “could you lend me some fixtures for the ship’s repair?”
“most certainly!”
“wait! where are you three going?!”
“no use worrying about them, sanji is there to keep the both of them in check,” [name] spoke from behind her, making her turn and look up at him from over her shoulder.
“tch, whatever! you! make sure you stay on the merry! i know you’ve got some rotten ideas in your head too! don’t think i don’t know!!”
“i wasn’t thinking about anything!”
nami didn’t listen to his defenses, merely dragging him towards merry. he wordlessly took ahold of her in his arms and easily jumped on board, collapsing himself onto the deck to maybe catch some sleep.
“after eating such a big meal and learning a bunch of new stuff,” he breathed out, getting comfortable, “the only appropiate answer is to sleep!”
“you can say that again,” zoro gruffly agreed, leaning against the railing as his napping spot.
“shouldn’t you two be more alert?! what if those priests guys decide to take care of us right now? we’d be defenseless,” nami scolded, looking troubled by how casually relaxed they both were.
her words proved to be true, though, because while zoro and [name] were taking cat naps — conis came on board and discussed something important with them.
the first thing [name] experienced as his alarm clock was the sudden shaking of their ship.
“can’t a man just get some uninterrupted sleep?!”
“[name]!! stop us from moving already!! we’re getting farther and farther from the shore!” nami shouted in a hurry and [name] rushed over to the railing to assess the situation.
easily he shrugged and said, “there’s nothing we can do, but wait until he stops! zoro, don’t bother trying to cut it!”
“hah?! i don’t take orders from you, bastard!”
“i’m saying even if we eliminate this guy. there’s nothing that can be done if we are let loose,” [name] informed him, looking out into the white sea and squinting, “we are gonna get either eaten or be transported by this creature — let’s take the latter instead of risking our lives,”
“[name]’s right, we just have to deal with this,” robin agreed, “we can’t risk getting loose and then fighting all of those fish there,”
“plus, it gives the others at least of an idea of where we’re going,” [name] shrugged, “there’s no other place for us to go besides that forbidden holy land, right?”
the smirk on his face didn’t do anything to settle the anxiety both chopper and nami were feeling. it actually only made their worries worse.
“don’t look so down, we’re finally going on a proper adventure!” he clenched his fists, looking up at the sky, “and if this god guy is real, i’ll exchange some words with him,”
“oh? the vengeful type, are you?”
“yeah, i’ve got a lot of questions for that fucker,”
robin laughed behind her hand, zoro looked unimpressed, and chopper and nami were both desperately beating into his chest.
“don’t say such scary things!! what if we get caught in his crossfire with you?! then it’s your fault if we die!! god is real, [name]!”
“well, we’ll find that out, won’t we?”
“quit it already, you’re gonna give us a death sentence!”

hey so the order in which the strawhats disappeared was really fucked up right???
i mean, Kizaru was already targeting Zoro because he was more hurt than the rest, so they were already escaping from a fucking admiral and his men, and then Kuma was in front of them, the real Kuma appears out of nowhere, the moment we see him we forget momentarily about Kizaru- because there's this moment between Zoro and Kuma where they talk about what happened in Thriller Bark,
"Roronoa... so you were alive",
"all thanks to you benevolence"
and the next thing we know, is that Zoro's fucking gone
so onto what i wanted to yap about, the order in which they disappear:
everyone was worried about the current situation, but the top priority while they were escaping was Zoro- Zoro, who couldn't move- Zoro, who Kizaru wanted dead first- Zoro, who wanted to be left behind so the rest could escape, Zoro, who knows what the warlord in front of him is capable of-
Zoro, the first ever member of the crew.
everyone see this and it's worse than actually witnessing his death, because he's just gone and they have no idea where he is. and no matter how much they want to do something, Luffy orders them to keep running, that they will find a way to rescue Zoro once they're all safe,
but Kuma's too fast and he's right next to Usopp, Sanji and Brook, he tries to buy some time for Sanji and Usopp,
but it's in vain
and then Brook's next, he's the second one to get taken away, the last member to have joined them
(and not only the fact that he's their newest member, but the fact that it's made a point he's been trying his hardest to fit in and be helpful I'm SICK)
Sanji could have been next, but in trying to protect Usopp what he ends up accomplishing is that their sniper gets taken away next, the fact that Usopp's third makes me go absolutely batshit crazy with the way they frame it too
he's so so scared, how could he not be?? and it's not the same fear he usually feels while on their adventure, it's pure desperation- there's no one to help him and he can't fight- he can't get away and-
and then he's gone
Sanji instead of running, he charges, angry at Kuma and at himself (oh the way he was gripping his hair because he couldn't do anything to save Zoro and Brook) at this point it's obvious what the outcome will be, that's why Luffy specifically yells at him to run
but he doesn't, and then he's gone too.
(Usopp being third is fucked up mostly because Sanji's the fourth one, and they make it a point to show him trying to rescue Usopp. a less powerful member dissapears right in front of one of the most powerful of them, and then Sanji, who can hold his ground as much as Zoro and Luffy can, disappears)
in the blink of an eye, half of Luffy's crew isn't there
Luffy's full on crying at this point, everything's happening too fast, and why is Kuma even doing this in the first place? he has to do something before they take the rest of his crew- because he made it obvious that this isn't something the world government ordered him to do, so they're facing two enemies at once, a warlord and an admiral,
Luffy goes gear two, and when Kuma sees this, he goes to where Franky and Nami are- Luffy tries to strike an attack (and the fact that this could be where he sends him away but chooses not to Oh my fucking god) but Kuma easily stops him, and right there he touches Franky (he's the fifth one and it's too crazy just how he goes group for group, not only the order in which they disappear one by one) with Luffy right there, he's right there watching directly when it happens.
and then there's Nami. with them i think it the contrary of what happened with Usopp and Sanji, here, Nami's the one left alone, they take Franky first, who had tried to defend them both
oh this goddamn scene I SWEAR- it's incredibly painful to watch, at this point there are only four strawhats still standing, but there's no hope left, they can only keep trying but it's obvious that they're just acting on instinct, that's why Nami asks for help, because she knows there's nothing else to do- she tries to reach out for Luffy, her captain, the way Luffy had been so close to both Franky and Nami when Kuma touched them? horribly well done
Luffy's literally begging that Kuma leaves them alone but then he goes to where Chopper is, and Chopper- ughhhhh, the fact he used a form he couldn't even control just to try to save his friends, THE FACT that Kuma touches him when he's like that- the doctor of the strawhats, he's seventh one to disappear, and he couldn't even process it, Chopper didn't even know most of his crew was gone (if he hadn't been transformed, i'm sure he would have reached out too, just like Nami and Robin)
the last one is Robin, Robin being the last one killed me, the "demon child" that had found her places in the world, who wants to live, live with her crew, the ones that showed her she's worth fighting the entire world for- she calls for Luffy, and then- (Luffy running and shouting at Robin to get away, he's not fast enough and when he reaches Kuma he's already touched Robin FUCK-)
then Luffy's the only one there, Luffy being the last one is cruel having him watch his entire crew vanish in front of him was torture, and we're just left with him and his pain, Luffy has cried before, but not like this, not as he beats himself up for not being able to save his friends.
and it ends with this:
#one piece#straw hat crew#straw hat pirates#monkey d. luffy#sabaody#one piece analysis#kinda???#i'm just yapping honestly#i'm not entirely sure if it's coherent enough honestly#but i NEEDED to get this out of my system#this entire episode was so so good#the montage? killed me#Luffy crying? KILLED ME#everything killed me#i said dissapear so much it doesn't even feel like a real word anymore lmao#al watching that one pirate show#yes i'm talking about the anime but used a panel from the manga#it looks cool as heck so i used it instead of an screenshot from the show

⛥゚・。 protector: chapter twenty-two
synopsis: " you were supposed to stay a crewate, just another back to watch, " he tightened his hold, " i didn't even notice the change until i woke up one day and realized i'd take a bullet for you "
cw: violence, gore, fighting, mature themes, profanity, MAJOR/MINOR ANIME SPOILERS, follows the plot of the anime, slowww burn.
a/n: reposting from another account
After the battle was won, the crew, as usual, celebrated with a huge party in the castle, complete with a fully stocked banquet, music, and your usual Strawhat shenanigans.
But all good things must come to an end, and after taking a free bath, the crew hightailed it with all the food you could carry.
You gave Vivi the option to sail with you, but as nearly everyone guessed, she decided to stay back and help rebuild Alabasta.
Though that didn't mean you couldn't give her a proper send off.
After wishing Vivi goodbye and departing from the desert island, the crew discovered a stow-away on the ship.
Miss All-Sunday.
Or Robin, as she liked to be called.
With nowhere to go and nowhere to return to, she asked to stay with the crew, and Luffy complied.
So the crew set sail, soon realizing that the log pose was pointing towards the sky.
Nami was stumped, but after a ship nearly crushed you all to death, you discovered a map to a place called Skypiea in the wreckage.
And after enlisting the help of a couple trash collecting monkeys and the descendant of a liar, the crew traveled up the Knock Up stream and finally landed on the Sky Island.
And after a couple run ins with the locals, and a kidnapping from a runaway lobster, you, Zoro, Robin, Chopper, and Nami were now stranded on an altar in the middle of the Upper Yard.
A place sacred to the god of Skypiea.
"I can't believe that overgrown crustacean just dropped us out in the middle of nowhere," Zoro huffed, annoyed, as he watched the creature swim back to who knows where.
"Does anybody know where we are?" Chopper asked, taking a seat on the rail.
"One thing's for sure," Nami sighed, "we're definitely somewhere in the middle of the Upper Yard."
"This seems to be an altar for sacrifices," Robin stated, taking note that the Merry was now perched on top of a large, decorated stone.
"Wait, sacrifices?" you cocked a brow.
"Nami, what's a sacrifice?" Chopper asked.
"Y'know, It's... like an offering to the gods."
"Oh, that's all? I thought it meant being boiled alive in a big stew or something."
"Actually, that pretty much it," you nodded.
"WHAT?!"
"Regardless of the method, the thing being offered is generally someone's life," Robin agreed.
"Are you tryin' to tell me we're all gonna die here—WHOA!" Suddenly, the reindeer lost his balance, falling off the rail and tumbling down the steps of the altar.
"Chopper!" Nami exclaimed.
"Dammit!" Zoro groaned, jumping off the edge to go after him.
Robin managed to sprout some arms at the bottom of the steps and catch him, but just as he took a breath of relief, a shark jumped out the clouds below, ready to attack.
Chopper screamed, but Zoro was quick to his aid, tackling it back underwater.
"Oh no! What is that?!" Nami squealed, eyes wide.
"A shark in the sky," Robin answered, quizzically, "A skyshark?"
"Zoro! Zoro!" Chopper called, running back up the steps.
"That idiot better not get himself killed under there..." you bit your cheek, the slightest hint of concern in your voice as you peered over the edge.
He needed air at some point.
"What if he's eaten?! It's all my fault!" Chopper cried, nervous.
"If he was eaten, the clouds would've been stained red," Robin assured... in her own way.
"How can you stay so calm at a time like this?!" Nami exclaimed.
Just then, Zoro and the shark burst from the clouds, the swordsman having uppercut the life out of the fish.
Literally.
'Thank God... should I still say that here?'
"I can tell you one thing," he groaned, walking back up the steps, "We are not gonna make it across by swimming."
"What kinda swordsman punches a shark 'stead of using his blade?" Nami cocked a brow, unamused.
"Fish probably didn't like him 'cause he was too dense. Dumbassery makes you chewy," you rolled your eyes.
"I can hear you two!"
"I'm so glad you're okay!" Chopper smiled, taking a deep sigh of relief.
"Whatever happened to your precious swordsman's pride, huh?" Nami teased.
"Would you give it a rest for once?!" Zoro shouted again, removing his soaking shirt.
'DAMN!'
You could feel your face heating up at the sight, the water providing a dewy glow to his incredibly toned chest.
You had seen him shirtless a couple time before, but the image always got to you.
It was honestly a little embarrassing, as if you were a young girl with a schoolyard crush.
"You might want to close your mouth before he sees," Robin smirked, snapping you out of your stupor.
You glowed with embarrassment, letting out a flustered scoff as you quickly composed yourself.
"Shut up..."
"There's a whole school of them!" Chopper screamed, taking note of all the dorsal fins popping up from the clouds, "What are we gonna do?!"
"I'm not sure," Zoro sighed, "But if that first one was any indication, we're not gonna have much luck fighting them off."
"We've got to do something. We can't stay here forever," Robin added.
Zoro shook his head, ringing out the water from his shirt, "If leaving us here was that lobster's idea of a joke, it's not very funny."
"Perhaps this is the Heaven's Judgement we've been hearing so much about..." Robin stated quizzically, peering over to examine the altar again.
"'Cept you'd think this God would try somethin' a little flashier, ya know?" Zoro shrugged.
Nami tossed the swordsman a blue tank top, muttering something about cutting off all your distractions so you could get her out of this mess.
'Jerk.'
"Eh, couldn't say. Never met the guy," the scholar turned to you, "What about you, (y/n)? You have the Angel-Angel fruit. Certainly you've seen some manner of God before..."
You paused for a moment, thinking back to see if you could remember anything about when you first got your devil fruit.
It was so long ago, and apparently traumatic, that your brain blocked out most of the event.
"If I did, I wouldn't remember. I got my powers a long time ago," you shrugged, "All I do remember is hunger, then a horrible taste, and a sudden pain in my back. No God."
"Either way, I'm not sure what the solution is. We definitely can't set sail with the hull looking like this," Zoro turned towards the ship, taking note of the damage the lobster left, "Hey, Chopper, try to figure out a way to fix the ship."
"Uh, okay!" Chopper nodded.
"Why should he fix it? Are you going somewhere?" Nami asked, raising a brow.
"I'm gonna find a way into the forest," he nodded, throwing on the shirt, "We should probably make this our base of operations. You guys can keep lookout. I'm sure Luffy and the others are headed this way."
"Zoro, if you wanna go into the forest, well, I guess that's okay with me. But you haven't really told us what for..." Chopper asked.
"There's supposed to be some kinda God on this island—I wanna meet him."
"Wait, that's a terrible idea!" Nami exclaimed, "I mean, what are you gonna do when you actually find him?"
"I don't know. Depends on if he behaves himself," the man smirked.
Your brows flattened.
'Seriously...'
"Zoro, you're the bravest person I know," Chopper marveled.
"And the dumbest," you rolled your eyes, "Keep talking like that and you'll be smited before we even get there."
"We?" he raised a brow.
"Someone's gotta make sure you can find your way back. I let you go by yourself and we won't see you for weeks," you teased with a smirk.
"Hey!"
"What about his priests?! You guys gonna beat them up, too?" Nami scolded, placing her hands on her hips, "The last thing we need is you two pissing off a God!"
Zoro turned to the girl proudly, "By the time I'm done with him...this God is gonna bow before me."
'Dork.'
"Dork..." you rolled your eyes, outstretching your wings.
"Yay! Go, Zoro!" Chopper cheered.
"I don't believe in him, anyway. What do I care about pissing him off?"
As Nami said her prayers, you began packing your day bag, which was complete with a loaf of bread, some water, and ten bottles of sake.
'Perfect.'
"Secret Technique: God's Messenger, Six Point," you whispered, closing your eyes and taking a deep breath.
Just like that, about six of your feathers popped off, floating in the air.
"Stay with Chopper in case he needs help. Let me know if he's in trouble."
They gave a quick wiggle before zipping off to the top of the mast, perching there to surveil from all angles.
"That vine looked pretty sturdy," Zoro noted, looking up at a low-hanging branch.
"Ah, excellent idea," Robin nodded, "Mind if I tag along?"
"Sure. Long as you promise not to slow us down," he shrugged.
"Wait a minute! Where do you think you're going?!" Nami shouted
"At least a thousand years have past since this altar was built," she smiled, "The sense of history here is amazing. You feel it?"
'Not particularly, no.'
"A place like this is sure to be filled with all kinds of old relics. Imagine all the valuables we could discover. The possibilities are endless."
"I'll join!" Nami smiled, nothing but money on her mind.
Robin used her hands to bring the vine into reach, and the three of you climbed up to the crow's nest for a jumping point.
Zoro took the vine in his hand, clearing his throat for an oddly long time.
You cocked a brow, "The hell are you doing?"
He took a deep breath before swinging over, making Tarzan noises the whole way.
"It's official. He's lost his mind," Nami sighed.
A couple chuckles slipped from you, "That man is an idiot."
Robin grabbed the vine on its journey back, and swung over herself, Nami doing the same thing once Robin made it.
"Be careful! If you fall, you'll most surely die!" Robin called.
"Is that your idea of helping?!" Nami glared.
Below, the skysharks circled the dead one, each taking turns eating the creature.
"She's right... I'm dead if I fall..."
"Uh, Nami-" "Alright, I'm goin! If that's what you want!"
She jumped off, screaming the entire ride.
You couldn't help but laugh.
And it was a good thing Robin went before her because she prevented Nami from becoming a splat on a tree.
"Thanks for catching me," Nami panted, dropping to the ground.
"Anytime," Robin nodded, turning and starting off in the forest.
"You realize I could've just flown you over, right?" you smirked, landing next to her.
"You tell me that now?!"
"I was trying to tell you!"
"AHHHHOOOAAAAAHHHH... is what you should've done," Zoro shook his head.
"THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!"
"Long-sword..." you stated, mapping out the image of it in your head, before making appear out of light in your hands.
"Kunai knife."
"What're you doing?" Zoro asked, brow raised as he watched you.
You had been at this since the group left the ship, and he didn't remember you having this ability a couple days ago.
"Back in Alabasta, I discovered I could make weapons out of light," you started, forming the kunai in your hand, "I made a bow and arrow and defeated the blue haired woman. So now I'm training myself to be able to come up with whatever I want instantly. That way, I can be battle ready in a second."
Zoro nodded, taking a quick moment to process the information.
"Need help?"
You cocked brow, a little confused, "You wanna help?"
"It's always good to level up your skills," he shrugged, "And the stronger you are, the easier my load'll be."
You turned to him, a sly smile on growing your face at the teasing opportunity.
"If you wanted help just 'cause it was me, you coulda said it."
His breath hitched, and his cheeks lit up in crimson.
He didn't expect you to pick up on that.
He didn't even realize that's what he was doing until you said it.
It was almost as if his body went on auto-pilot when he asked, like it knew that's what he wanted to do before he did.
"Shut up!" he loudly scoffed, "You want my help or not?"
"Okay, okay!" you laughed, holding out your open hands, "Don't give me any warning. Just say any kind of weapon and I'll make it appear as soon as possible."
He nodded, taking a moment to get a list going in his head.
"Ready?"
"Yup."
"Katana."
It took you a moment, but you made it perfectly, using Zoro's as a reference.
"Faster. Flail."
That one took you a little longer.
"C'mon, faster. Axe."
You got it instantly.
"Good. Arrow."
You also got it instantly.
"Keep it up. Whip."
That one took you way longer than it should've, the image taking time to come up in your head.
"C'mon, don't slow down now. Bow."
You got that sooner.
"Good. Mace."
You got that one instantly.
"I think I have a suggestion," he chimed, hand on his chin.
"Lay it on me," you panted, catching your breath.
You were now discovering just how much energy it took to make the objects, especially one after the other.
You would definitely need more training.
"It looks to me like the quickness of the object's appearance depends on how familiar you are with how it looks. It's why the mace was conjured faster than the flail," he started, "So to train that, you should probably try to memorize the images of weapons you'll frequently use while doing one of our training workouts."
He turned to you, handing over his water thermos.
"Training like that should help you up your strength and speed at the same time."
"Thanks," you smiled, accepting it gratefully and taking a couple good swigs.
"We should probably stop for now. Can't have you too tired if we're gonna keep exploring this jungle."
You nodded in agreement, handing him back his thermos, when he suddenly got an idea.
"But one thing..." his smile grew, making you raise a brow, "Do ya think you could conjure up some sake?"
You snickered, "It's light, Zo. I doubt you'd be able to drink it."
He blushed at the nickname, but quickly played it off.
"Damn..."
"You can take a couple bottles out my bag if you want 'em," you offered, turning to show your backpack.
"A couple? You mean you have—CHRIST, WOMAN! Did you pack anything else?!" he exclaimed as he opened the flap, your supplies ninety-five percent alcohol.
"I brought bread! ... And a thermos of water..."
"Dehydration's gonna kill you before any skyshark will..."
"Hey! I—" you stopped your sentence at the sound of a faint whistle, along with a feeling of dread rolling down your spine.
'Huh...'
"What's wrong?" Zoro firmly asked, resting his hand on the handles of his swords at your sudden stop.
The dread was from one of your feathers.
'CRAP! ALREADY?!'
There was a look of fear and worry in your eyes, as if you were seeing something he couldn't, and it was beginning to frighten him.
"Is she alright?" Robin asked, she and Nami stopping to turn around and check the commotion.
"(y/n)!" Zoro exclaimed as you suddenly went limp, catching you by your shoulders and holding you up.
One by one, your feathers were disappearing, sending a burning sensation echoing through your back.
"Fire... Priest... Merry," you muttered staring up into the sky as the images came rolling through your head, eyes flicking through each new one.
Your feathers had never done this before, and it was honestly quite frightening.
For both you and Zoro.
The swordsman overheard you leave some feathers on the Merry just to be safe, but he had never seen them give you such a physical reaction before.
Was it because of your increased strength?
Suddenly, the image of Chopper being burned flashed in your head, before quickly disappearing, your last feather gone.
"Chopper!" you gasped, breaking free of Zoro's grasp and jetting off at top speed in the direction of the Merry.
"(y/n)!" Zoro called after you, a nervous pit sinking in his stomach.
'Dammit, take me with you!'
Judging by the few words you muttered, what you were running into sounded like it was serious.
And he wanted to be there to back you up.
"Robin, can you sprout one of your eyes on the Merry to see what (y/n)'s seeing?" Zoro sharply asked, turning to the dark-haired woman, "I wanna know what she's up against."
"I'm afraid the ship's too far out of my range," Robin tried, but failed, "Her reconnaissance is one of the many things she has me beat at."
The scholar did her best to fight back her smile, knowing that this was not the time nor place.
But you and Zoro's adorably romantic interactions had amused her since she first joined the crew, and she made getting you two together a little passion project of hers.
So if she had a chance to talk you up, she would.
"Damn it," he grunted, turning back to the direction you disappeared in, "We gotta go after her."
"Now, hold on a minute," Nami stopped him, grabbing his arm, "If getting this far took us this long, then imagine how long it's gonna take us to get back to the Merry, even if we run the whole way."
Robin sighed, slightly saddened that she wouldn't get to see Zoro's grand gesture, but accepting that what Nami had to say was logical.
"(y/n)'s the fastest out of all of us, and incredibly strong. She'll get there and defeat whatever's attacking the Merry, then use her feathers to be back in no time flat. But for us, we'd only slow her down. We should keep moving forward, instead. We're sitting ducks just standing here."
Despite the objections of his heart, his head knew that Nami was right.
"Fine," he grumbled, starting back on the trail, now eager to get the trip over with so he could get back to the ship.
He knew you could handle yourself.
He was confident you could handle anything thrown at you.
You were a strong and independent woman.
'Dammit...'
So why was his first instinct to be your protector?
