One of my headcanons for Moghedien is that her 'goth spider queen' aesthetic was not a post-Dark One choice. She was just always Like That.
Like, imagine rolling up to Fantasy Utopia Wallstreet wanting financial advice, and the firm your at sends you a woman in full on spiderweb print dress with, with black lipstick and eyeliner. And she's just like 'Hi! I'm your new financial adviser! Have you heard how hot the housing market is right now? :3!".

The later case. Basically the Heroes of the Horn are spun out by the wheel again and again to make new legends and myths for each era, and to work the will of fate, keeping history/the Pattern on track. New souls can join the ranks of the heroes as well (normal people rising to do legendary things) and souls can be unbound from the Horn/Wheel though the circumstances of how that is done are far more foggy. The Dragon is always born in the third age to fight the Dark One, and is the classic savior/messiah archetype. Other Heroes of the Horn represent different archetypes (The High King is Artur Hawkwing whose gotten named dropped a few times, their is also the Robin Hood/Huntress type in Brigitte Silverbow, The Wise Counselor in Anla, etc). The live similar or parallel lives touch on the same ideas, themes, and elements in 'endless variation'.
Their are also those that are reborn and fight the Shadow without being Heroes of the Horn at all. It's hinted a few times that individuals connections to each other can span multiple reincarnations, people being re-woven into each other's lives because of their bonds from past lives, and that constellation of folks who surround Rand are like that, having been spun out together to stand together against the Shadow.
ANOTHER question for book peeps (I'm an impatient hoe, what can I say)
So, what I understood is that... time is cyclical in the WoT universe, right? You have a set number of eras that repeat again and again? So this we are seeing right now is actually Third Era (For the Xth time)?
But does that mean that each turn has like... similar types of happenings with new people each time... or does it mean that every new cycle Lews Therin and the whole gang are born again?
Like, does every cycle has its own heroes and storylines, or is it always Lews Therin and Crew Go At It Again?

So pretty early on in The Fires of Heaven, our boy Mat hands a necklace to one of the Maidens to impress her, not realizing that giving a gift like that as a close as a dude can come in Aiel culture to proposing. Which means. This guy. Has not one but TWO accidental proposals under his belt. Incredible writing decision, no notes, RJ really said “I will explore cultural differences by making Matrim Cauthon get accidentally engaged as many times as possible” and that was the best possible choice

Something that sticks out to me from rereading TFOH is that it deals A LOT with Nynaeve's fear of failure and not being enough to help her friends and people and I think people forget that she's deeply afraid cause she presents this facade that she's confident in herself when deep down she's not

But fucking. They nailed Lanfear as a character SO FUCKING WELL. The pride she can't quite keep under wraps even while passing herself off as less then she is. The fact that she can only really be vulnerable and honest when she has the shield of plausible deniability to hide behind- be it the backstory she invents to entrap Rand, or the invasion of his dreams to let her true feelings about being left behind at the party show. All the subtle ways she's manipulating and shaping him, trying to make him more like Lews Therin Telamon but the version of LTT that exists in her head, the way she WANTED Him to be. The way she works to feed his pride and vanity, to harden him, to encourage him to strike at others, to take what he wants no matter what, all without ever letting him see the strings.
I am VIBRATING it's SO GOOD.

Cmon they can’t reasonably be doing Bryne after all this … it’s a near word for word oath in the show already. Plus, the bit about no oath stronger unless it was sworn on the Oath Rod (oops it was!)
