WHERE: Tonopah Valley Firehouse WITH: @taliah-tezel
Ender was certainly doing his homework– even off the clock, he was maintaining a low profile while scoping out the community he now found himself in. He was dedicated, to say the least, but that was mostly because he was in quite a goddamn hurry to finish the task at hand here and put as many miles between him and Isra Sakarya as he possibly could. So needless to say, he was putting in hours well beyond what the badge required of him, and that morning, he found himself wandering up to the firehouse, coffee in hand. Part of what made the ATF so effective was their ability to hone in on those closest to their targets. When it came to the Sons of Silence, was there anyone closer than the president’s lover? Wasn’t she, for all intents and purposes, a gatekeeper to their ugliest secrets? In his mind, it seemed reasonable enough, hence why he was approaching the neat table and booth set up outside the firehouse, a warm, welcoming smile on his face. “Günaydın,” he called out in their mother tongue as he raised a hand and gave a little wave. He felt secure enough making it known that he knew her heritage because sure, he could say he knew that little detail about her because he’d read it in the paper, like any other normal citizen in Tonopah Valley would have. But the truth? Whatever Ender knew about Taliah Tezel was solely because her face was plastered on a wall at the precinct, right next to the picture of the man he intended to lock away until he rotted. Either way, it wasn’t a stretch at all for him to speak Turkish to her, and so he kept going as he approached, “Nasılsın?” Shifting his cup of coffee to his left hand, he extended his right in greeting, “Ender,” he introduced, flashing a small smile, “The work never stops, huh?” Ender supplied, gesturing at the stand behind her. His agenda against the Sons aside, he really was genuine in saying that that fire department here went above and beyond for their community. Ender could respect that, but it failed to stretch much far beyond that, all things considered.

in this house we support amane's wrongs until the end btw. proud amane inno voter and i think she should have gotten inno all three times i am sticking to my beliefs. really sucks that two people died but she deserved that forgiven verdict and i stand by it.
because you know what i don't care about that rabbit's passive aggressive implications. i do think that her forgiven verdict was more important than doing "if we vote this and that then so and so might happen" mental gymnastics. that was the conclusion i reached for myself after seeing how the first trial turned out. it's a wolf cabbage sheep situation where all the outcomes are bad, and if there is no happy way out of it then i want to forgive the abused 12 year old child
#like i was quite disillusioned with how t2 started and the way people were doing all that meta voting#i really disliked it#so well. this is the kind of visual novel that *i* am playing here#←that post got notes so now i have to see opinions i disagree with#and like you won't be able to argue about this with me#it is really very tragic that shidou and mahiru died#(i would know; haruka is my favorite character)#but i really do value the verdict on its own above the consequences it could have had#and honestly. amane has a rough trial ahead. i am solidly by her side#mar's midnight rambles#milgram

2: Number 4, Kaburagi, caught up to Doubashi who has been left behind!!
4: This is bad!! Pedal!!

Pag 4
1: Yeah, Issa!!

Pag 5
1: 4km left until the sprint line!!
2: Don't underestimate him, San-na*!!
(*NdT.: Kaburagi is calling him that because when earlier he called him “Doubashi” with no honorifics, Doubashi corrected him saying “it's san, na” the 'na' is just and ending particle, but I decided to leave it in the nickname Kabu is using now)
3: Danchiku is strong!!
He's the kind of guy who once he makes a decision, he sticks to it!!
4: Buah!!
I'm not underestimating him
5: With that attack earlier I got that his “running” is no chicken!!
6: Haha, I told you from the start!! I told you “that's not true”!!

Pag 6
1: But “mentality” is another story!!
3: “Running” and “mentality”are different things, but two sides of the same coin!!
4: I'm chasing him like this!! I'm getting closer!!
That's the reality!! The situation!!
I'll swallow him
5: And even if I don't do anything, he'll make a mistake!!
6: Tch, this guy hit a nerve

This is that guy's....!!
Seriously!?

Pag 8
1: But!!
Gaa
2: But I also came here fully prepared!!
ruaaagh
3: “Take care of that idiot”
4: Bamboo
6: Hop Shot!!

Pag 9
1: I'll leave him behind!!
2: Switch to a
3: higher gear!!
6: Dammit, instead of switching to a higher gear I switched to a lower!?
Such a stupid mistake!! In a moment like this!!
I'll switch to a higher gear now!!
8: Stupid mistake...? That's not it

Pag 10
1: Is my body reacting to Doubashi's pressure!?

Pag 11
1: Dammit!!
Don't turn around
2: San-na is going to move to pin Nagoya down, you go with him
This is the chance that
And then keep going like that!!
3: Issa managed to get for me!!
4: Don't turn around
He's getting closer, I can feel it on my skin!!
5: If I turn around his pressure will swallow me!!
Gaaagh
6: Dammit... so this is the Inter High?

Pag 12
1: This is Hakone Academy's Doubashi Masakiyo!!
2: Chicken.... your pedaling got all messy

Pag 13
1: He's coming closer!!
2: I'm gonna get swallowed!!
4: It's over
After all you really are a chicken

Pag 15
2: A white pressure... Issa!!
3: Danchiku, since it's you, you can do it!!
I'm sure of it, so run without hesitation
4: After all you're

Pag 16
1: Team SS..... Special Strong!!
Higaruaaagh!!

Pag 17
1: I'll take it, Issa!!
2: Higaruaagh!!
Dammit, what happened, he came back to life!!
3: What did you do, Orange
4: I raised it too

Pag 18
1: My pressure, to tell him “if it's you, you can do it”!!
2: I am “team SS”!!
3: I can do it!!
Garuaagh!!
4: Hahaha, if you don't hurry he'll get away, San-na!!
That's called Panda Shout!! That acceleration is terrific!!
5: Talking like that is your strategy to get me to use up my legs, Orange!!
Hahaha of course, you've finally noticed!!

Pag 19
2: I've noticed from the start, though
Is-is that so!?
Well, can't be helped. My plan to defeat him by using pressure alone was a failure
This time I'll use my legs
3: I'll show you my running that I've tempered thoroughly this past year!!
4: The sprint is now down to us three
As expected, there's no one who can catch up to us from there!!

Pag 20
1: In that group behind us!!
2: Pedal more
Let's catch up to them before they get out of sight!!
Gallop!!
Mokkosu!!
4: From behind us, another.... two people!?
Are catching up!?
5: It's two guys from the selected team!!

Pag 21
1: I'm so glad, we caught up with the lead!!
We were pulled by Doubashi-san but we got tore off a little later
You worked hard, you two!
Yeah, somehow!!
2: The leader of our team, Sugimoto-san, negotiated with Doubashi-san fro us
3: Our number has increased so we still have a chance!!
We'll chase Sohoku and Hakogaku that are ahead
Yeah!!
And we'll fight for the green number bib!!
4: Alright, senpai, I'll pull
“Two people” who caught up?
No
5: There's one more person!!

What do you enjoy about the Terrifier series?
the first movie was just meh to me but the second is a proper slasher film in a way that manyyyyyy of the so called revivals of the past few years try but never come close. before watching it i just figured it was a splatter film and was happy that one was playing in theaters but nothing caught my attention really. but i'm glad i watched them back to back and got to enjoy the second one. it understands so much abt a slasher film while still keeping the oldschool splatter set pieces. it understands that a horror movie needs characters and needs space for them to be, you know, people. it understand that the hangout aspect of a slasher is KEY. that tension is needed but that it doesnt mean that you can only have an explosion of blood in the last 20 minutes. i was sold by the dream sequence at the start. there's bits of rob zombies halloween 2, nightmare on elm street, even the prowler in it but it's its own thing and it feels so genuine and that it had actual human beings behind it. that's all i want in a horror movie these days lol. the mother alone, there's so much in there that in someone else's hands would just feel hollow, a pastiche, but to me she was so real. idk. to some it was an attempt at fixing past mistakes but to me it all felt incredibly sincere. a v generous movie. glad it wasn't glossy bullshit. i had fun! will be seeing art at the theater in november!
#ask#goes without saying that it's not for everybody#it's a low budget blood spectacle and i'm an hgl pilled person so#the thing abt the first one is that it's just okay -- like it's not a Bad movie but it is kinda joyless#it does have characters and you care for them bc they are near art and you know what that means for them but it still felt like#a long youtube horror short and it was just meh.. justice for tara#but i still wanted to watch them in order just because#maybe at another time it would make me mad but yesterday i was just . who gets mad at this. it's so silly and has that oldschool splatter#quality of dragging even tho it's only 80 minutes long#i know some people prefer how mean and pointless it is but i'm just glad i got what i wanted on t2#but the beginning of the first movie is pretty good and tense imo

Something I noticed about Haruka's change in t2 is that he says he likes the way he is now and supposedly gained more confidence, but the rest of his answers in seasons 2's interrogation are still self deprecating. Saying how no one is like him cause "no one is likehim cause they are all great people, everything (about him) is wrong, etc.". My guess is what he gained wasn't confidence, it was his innocent vote and Muu's influence that temporarily rubbed off on him. Think about it: Muu's personality did a whole 180 when she was voted innocent. She went from being shy and timid to becoming a queen bee which is what her 'true personality' is. Haruka, while he learned to become more social, was still unsure of himself. He couldn't fathom why someone like him was forgiven (what he sings in akaa) but still takes it. But why?
Cause it's what Muu does. They were both given an inch and took a mile
It's pretty clear Haruka is heavily attached to Muu (he even says his current self only exists because of her), but I think Muu influenced him to think that forgiven = what he did wasn't wrong. Since it seems like it is also her own mindset. But before, Haruka knew what he did was wrong and felt remorse, while Muu always thought she was in the right cause (her words: It's your fault for doing horrible things to me)
Also, confident people do not form unhealthy attachments like this and threaten to kts for someone else. Haruka did not gain confidence, he gained temporary relief from someone else
And this isn't to say Muu is abusive or doesn't care about Haruka at all, but it's still so incredibly unnerving to influence someone that's already broken like this
Thank you so much for this. I've wanted to talk about this for a while, I feel like the fandom overlooks just how deeply Muu influenced (and probably continues to influence unless their codependency starts to break in T3) Haruka. Not that shes evil or abusive or anything of the sort, but unfortunately their attachment styles create the most awfully perfectly fitting puzzle piece
Haruka looks down on himself so much, he wants more than anything to be a "smart, strong and interesting person" in his own words. As a result he is constantly searching for someone to latch onto and mirror, trying to create a new identity for himself, because he just doesn't see any part of himself that is worth keeping (BPD Haruka headcanon comes in...) Haruka still believes he's wrong, that he's worthless, but he's desperately looking for any solace albeit temporary or fake. A confirmation bias I think?
Something that comes into mind when proving this point, is that when Muu talked about Kotoko's attacks in her 2nd VD, she mentioned that those who were attacked were "deemed bad people by the Guard" as in they were scary and cruel, but Es, who so kindly believed that Muu wasn't at fault by giving her an innocent verdict, had deemed those people at fault, so they kinda deserved it, in her view. When Haruka was asked about what he thought of Kotoko's attacks, he said something similar, but then we see him in Mikoto's 2022 birthday TL coming to check up on him, showing compassion, wanting to wish him a happy birthday, even though Mikoto was voted guilty in T1, he should be a bad person in Haruka's book as well, but I think that shows he doesn't really believe what Muu was saying, he just doesn't think of his opinions as worthy so he latches onto those of the people he looks up to, the authority figures (Muu, Es) (I could talk about this for a while...). Also, in the newest collab, one of Haruka's lines were "Mikoto-san is a good person" but I'm not sure exactly when in the canon timeline that takes place (as in, before or after T2) (I'M SORRY I JUST HAVE TO BRING UP 0109 SIBLINGS HERE THEIR DYNAMIC IS SO IMPORTANT TO ME)
I do think Muu feels guilt and is just as broken, just in different ways, and she copes with her own issues differently, but I won't go offtopic... but yes I completely agree with what youre trying to say here. That Haruka is largely under Muu's influence, and it's heartbreaking. I often think about how an innocent verdict in T1 without Muu's influence would've helped Haruka gain some actual confidence and maybe even start to develop some sense of identity and independence. When I see Haruka T2, when I listen to his VD, his MV, all I see is... not Haruka. As in, Haruka under someone else's influence, breaking even more. It's not either of their faults, again! But god is this codependency going to take a toll on him for a while.
Like, come on, you can't tell me the boy who gives the most birthday wishes, says that all the prisoners are good people unlike him, says he would forgive everyone but certainly not himself, is a confident, guilt-free person. I don't know if it's just me but even his smile in his T2 sprite feels so... forced...? My poor poor boy.
oops I rambled too much didn't I. but thank you for this ask I hope I'm making sense and I'm so so sorry I took so long to respond eee
#YAY AN ASK!!!!!!!!!#MY FOURTH I THINK? ASK EVER THANK YOU AAAAAAAA#Im so sleepy i wouldve talked more if i was in a better state of mind im sorry eee#but yesyesyesyes the haruka in t2 is absolutely not the true haruka#haruka already appears so detached from himself even in t1 if u think abt it... the EXTENT of how much he hates himself is heartbreaking#bpd haruka real#milgram#haruka sakurai#sakurai haruka#i hope im making sense i get scared of getting attacked when i talk abt muu LMAO#i am but a stressed high schooler

I RESPECT YOUR TASTE BUT IF I MAY POLITELY ASK WHY KAZUI. hebores me i cannot lie so i want to understand why ur invested in him
No that's totally fair! Putting this under the cut
Honestly it's mainly that he's relatable! I tend to eat up gaynst if done well, and the overall production of how it was done in Cat (and his T2 voice trial, QnA posts) was fun. I also like that the gaynst happening was with an older man but not tied to romance. The overall bait-and-switch of "you thought he was just some random cheater well Guess What he NEVER cheated he only LONGED TO and she fell/killed herself because he was GAY and CAME OUT TO HER." was so fucking funny at the time too. (I can't remember rn if the accident theory was disproven) Cat is also one of my favorite Milgram songs, I had it on repeat for a long time (while I never listened to Half lol). I really hoped the innocent/forgiven verdict would have dialed up the resentful energy in that song (the eating of the dove bit at the end) and made him realize nothing is wrong with him but sigh of course not, it's obvious in the way Yuno is treated that Milgram is written with conservative Japanese sensibilities in mind. I'm not sure what they're going to do with him now, the self-hating energy is frustrating but not surprising. Hoping he doesn't get assigned a ballad. A decent portion of my love of him was also out of spite, since it was incredibly frustrating to see how people talked about him (even in the English fandom). I hope he got to be loved like a cat before he was summoned to Milgram, otherwise #rip. FWIW I would still completely support him if he was straight, then he'd be more of a Sylvain Gautier character lol. It never made sense to me that he was in Milgram (same with Yuno) so it made me feel strongly about him even if he's a flat character overall.
I am aware that could be considered shallow but the premise of Milgram is pretty shallow anyway. There is no way to ethically judge any of the characters without knowing what the final consequences of doing so are, which could be anything as far as we know such as suffering eternally (ex sending them to hell), head exploding (what happens to them in the novelization iirc), or not reincarnating and getting their soul destroyed/sent to the void (plot of the anime Death Parade which I am leaning towards the most as what they'll go for since it's implied everyone is already dead). I mean maybe some people would want that but I don't really think any of the characters deserve those fates since it's absurdly disproportionate... I would elaborate more if it didn't compel me to write thousands of words 😭 my ideal personal outcome was/is everyone getting forgiven
#in terms of my actual most favorite. before T2 it was Haruka bc of how his first song was so relatable (outside the context obviously 💀)#''the right future chose the wrong me'' i appreciated how he was possibly behind in school or disabled. no closure now...#then for T2 it was fuuta but now im like. urghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh#hes like a pastiche of himself now just a totally different guy#.txt#i stopped taking it super seriously around T2 when it became clear the writers were annoyed people were mostly forgiving lol#you can also tell they were so annoyed no one saw abortion as murder even after they developed yuno as doing them for ''no good reason''#i took so long to answer this because i kept going on tangents that have nothing to do with kazui 😭😭😭😭😭#i like this kind of thing so if they do a followup in the future i will be there. would be really cool if they do a sekai collab!#i want an official backdraft chart...(there are milgram charts on sonolus but they're just okay)#i wrote some really long paragraphs on why fuuta's arc was particularly interesting to me but i dont think anyone needs to read them#but i am a bit sad bc i feel like his T3 arc sort of devalues the debate around his previous actions bc now the focus will be on the cult#we'll see what they do with it

"You don't look disabled/trans/bi/like a guy/sick/diabetic/mentally ill/neurodivergent/autistic/in pain"
*Fucking smacks you with my big paws*
#dorian speaks#for a lot of these it's just dealing with bigotry/blatant ignorance#and many people won't even listen to you if you try to explain#they'll just believe their own assumptions to be true#and as a result - they'll “suggest” things that are legitimately harmful/don't apply whatsoever#this has been particularly true for me being a T1 diabetic#and people not knowing how hugely different it is from T2 diabetes in most ways#like... T1 is something you couldn't HOPE to prevent if you tried and it can happen to literally anybody - it's AUTOIMMUNE#I don't have any known family history of ANY diabetes and I got it#people will assume I'm not “allowed” to take any spaces for the disabled#just because they don't see my disability (T1D... chronic joint pain... foot injury that won't heal due to circumstances... etc)#and people have specific beliefs of what LGBTQIA+ people “should look like” or whatever which is just... don't.#The “you don't look neurodivergent/autistic” shit is something a lot of people deal with#If you had seen me as a kid you'd definitely think I'm autistic (actually a lot of people did but only as a reason to bully me)#But like... do you expect me to act/behave/have the same experiences my ENTIRE life without ANY changes whatsoever?#You do realize people learn to cope/adapt to some stuff... right? The experiences will differ throughout life. Each person is different#Nobody bothered to diagnose me when I was still a kid and my country doesn't diagnose adults at all so... fun times being taken seriously#I won't “look” neurodivergent or even mentally ill because there's this little thing called MASKING#and I had to learn to do that to keep myself safe for much of my life (from judgement/abuse/etc)#which has brought its own challenges#People don't have to look/sound/behave/outwardly seem like they're something or dealing with something to be valid#Idk how to phrase any of this any better but I feel like a lot of this is stuff people have experienced to some extent

Ooh, I'm interested in the fic idea you have!
haha ahh the fic titled "FUCK HIM UPPPP" ,,,
...its mostly a doc to contain my thoughts for a Specific au
(T1 guilty shidou thoughts hehe :p the woes of being my favourite character, i spose)
#sand speaks#friend shenanigans#honestly i have Some ideas but im mostly stuck on the injuries aspect#cuz like. assuming order was mikoto->mahiru->fuuta. would kazui have stopped her at shidou in this hypothetical?#would there be 3 injured instead of 2 in this hypothetical? How bad would the injuries be in comparison to now without a doctor?#or at least with a somewhat restricted doctor#this also made me think of that one minigram where shidou tries to get fever meds for haruka and is told not to set up shop#which made me think of if he'd be able to actually get medicines like painkillers and shit in actual milgram or if hed be denied#but yeah. guilty shidou is a fun concept to me because i like parseing out how hed feel about injuries and pain#since he doesnt see it as a “pain means you want to live” thing. then theres also would it be validating his thoughts as at the t2 commence#ent? since both ways validate A Thought of his anyway#idk i had thoughts. also tag wall wow sorry#why am i apologising this is my own tags. im not clogging no ones notifs w this one#sorry to the milgram tag tho youll see me be alitttle insane#sor

Prisoner 009: Miyahara Kiyoshi - Trial 2
General info
Verdict: INNOCENT
Physical changes: His hair has grown out, more akin to a wolf cut now. The rest of his appearance remains unchanged.
Behavioral changes: Kiyoshi continues to be cheerful and friendly, but seems to have quieted down a little. Almost pensive in a way. There are times when he lapses into periods of thoughtful silence, spaced out. If anyone asks him what's wrong, he'll brush them off and assure them that everything is fine.
Trailer art: Kiyoshi is turned to the left, saluting to you with a secretive smile. Behind him, a grey door with a plain silver handle. It appears to be a door to a police interrogation room.
Voicelines
– Second trial trailer
I'm not as good as people think I am, haha.
– Character voice trailer
Let me help you with that.
Cover info
Canon Milgram song cover: Cat (Again, Cat is really Daisukecore but when I saw "King of the Masquerade" I couldn't help but think of Kiyoshi.)
DECO*27 song cover: Two breaths walking (I chose this song just because the title matched with his non-breath oblige cover lmao. This is a really dramatic song, I think it suits him.)
Non-DECO*27 vocaloid song cover: Non-breath oblige (I don't know what story this song is trying to tell, but the MC is such a people pleaser I had to.)
Music info
Song title: Fairy ring
Song preview: Ah, they're here again. Eyes like weapons wherever I go, they're looking at me. I wish you would look away. I wish you would keep looking at me. Its all so conflicting!
Once you're a part of our town, you'll always be. We're one big family! Your joys, your sorrows, we'll share them all. A single place in the world where everything is right. All true colours are accepted here.
MV description: There's more colour in Kiyoshi's MV this time. His hometown has a dreamy feel to it, as if taken from a fairy tale. The eyes in the sky are simply drawn with thin black lines.
The music video starts with a dove flying in the sky. The camera then cuts to the scene below as it flies over a small town. The streets are lined with tiny terrace houses, identical red roofs save for the few grey or blue outliers. Almost every house has a garden of fruit trees or blooming flowers. A fountain sits in the middle of the square, where children run about or make wishes with coins. A few ladies sit together by a café, talking animatedly over tea.
The camera cuts to Kiyoshi carrying a box, walking across the town square that is bustling with activity. There seem to be preparations for a festival, with pink triangular flags and a banner being hung up. Everyone is smiling as they carry out their tasks.
The scene fast forwards, a few days passing by to the date of the festival. The song stops for a moment as music played by the musicians in the MV take over the audio, along with people cheering and laughing. Children make a mess all over their faces with cotton candy, men gather around a table to watch two buff guys arm wrestle. Kiyoshi himself is surrounded by a few people as he eats his barbequed sausages. An older man claps him on the shoulder, another older woman pinches his cheek, seemingly doting on him.
Something catches his attention and he looks over at it from the corner of his eyes. A park of sinister red eyes peer back at him from the darkness before disappearing. Kiyoshi swallows nervously, then turns back to the people by his table to tell a joke. They laugh.
The screen fades to black for a second. A young black haired boy strolls down a street. A pair of cartoonish eyes open up in the sky to stare at him. He walks past a street light which obstructs the camera. The scene transitions to an older boy with his school bag. A few more eyes open up in the sky, all staring at him. He looks up at them, eyes wide and expression neutral, as if curious. A car passes by which obstructs the camera again. Another transitions to reveal a teenage Kiyoshi loading a box into the trunk of an old car. A man and woman, presumably his parents, give him a hug before he drives away.
He drives until he reaches a stoplight. A dove swoops by, catching his attention. He watches it fly up into the sky and crash into an invisible barrier, falling back down onto the sidewalk. Kiyoshi steps out of his car in concern, stopping when a black wolf with red eyes runs up to the dove and snatches it up with its jaws. He watches in shock as blood spills down from the wing hanging out of it's mouth. The people by the sidewalk turn to Kiyoshi, who takes a shaky step back. Their eyes flash red and they all lunge for him, one man going for Kiyoshi's shoulder with his mouth open as if going for a bite.
The song ends, the last few beats trailing off. The screen cuts to black. Then, Kiyoshi's victim lying on the floor, blood trailing from his mouth, breathing heavily. His real hair colour is revealed to be dark orange. His yellow eyes shift to something in front of him and he begins to laugh. The camera cuts to Kiyoshi winding up another punch, expression furiously blank. His police uniform rapidly flashes between a prison uniform like in the first MV.
"Did you think you could get away with this?"
The sound of Kiyoshi's fist connecting. End.
Author's notes
I like how there's more yellow than grey in the title because it ties in with his character arc too.
Also, I use tumblr dark mode and if I stare at his yellow borders for long enough they start to remind me of police tapes.

I wanted to bring up a silly ship idea. Just for fun.
03, 06, 09, 10
Was this before Kotoko attacked them? After? I dunno.
Thoughts?
YES the cringefail 20yo polycule 👏👏👏 Thank you for the request! I've seen a lot about the individual pairs, so it was really fun to think about all their dynamics together! I have a set of hcs that could work in the current canon Milgram, and then a normal au set because it's so fun thinking about them :3
Milgram-focused
The I’m-a-loner-who’s-doing-it-for-justice-don’t-TOUCH-me pair finally meet their match when confronted with the I-loved-someone-so-much-and-don’t-plan-on-stopping pair. They all go into the relationship with grand ideas of love: they think it’s all heroic acts of saving, massive gestures or love, and dramatic confessions. Over time, they realize the real heroism/romance is in the little things.
Mahiru has her hands full with three people who neglect themselves for the sake of their work/interests, but she always loves feeding them and helping give them what they need. In turn, they can give her more affection and attention than she could ever ask for. They make sure someone is always around to spend time with her.
Each of the three is a perfect match for dealing with John’s reveal. Mahiru is calming and helps tone down Mikoto’s initial stress. Fuuta is honest and will help Mikoto finally confront his own situation and move forward. And since Kotoko can match his strength, Mikoto doesn’t need to be afraid of accidentally hurting anyone. Mikoto becomes less stressed with the overall situation as well as more accepting of himself/John.
I always love the idea that Fuuta is secretly starstruck by Kotoko and John’s strength. He’ll never admit how much he admires their ability to stand up and fight. He feels really safe around them. He’s glad to have the opportunity to fight for someone else, too – he likes to be Mahiru’s self-proclaimed protector and hero. (Even though most of the time she can stand up for herself, she still likes letting him take care of her.)
Kotoko’s experiences let her hold solid conversations with everyone. She’s similar enough to Fuuta where they share some interests (social issues, schooling, etc.) She understands hard work and burnout to earn Mikoto’s respect. She understands physical strength to earn John’s. She has a lot of people-knowledge, so she can gossip and talk about Tokyo life to Mahiru (Mappi’s doing most of the ‘gossiping,’ but Kotoko has solid additions). She's a good listener and has a good memory, so everyone feels heard by her.
They start to rub off on each other. Mahiru and Mikoto learn to be a bit tougher in standing up for herself. Fuuta, John, and Kotoko learn to take a breath before jumping right to violence. They stay very much who they are, but pick up on just a few habits that make their lives easier.
Their styles also influence one another: Fuuta gets pointers from all three about piercing his ears (though it takes him a long time to get up the nerve to do it). Mahiru helps the others dress more trendy and boost their confidence, and they teach her to worry less about her appearance and relax more.
If they get together T1, Kotoko is shocked by the T1 verdicts. She might pull away from everyone in initial horror, but after developing a relationship ahead of time, she doesn’t follow through with her attacks. If not, then maybe in T3 when Kotoko is suffering from her guilty verdict, Mahiru and Mikoto are able to bridge the gap and develop a friendship, leading to more. Fuuta would take longer to come around, but I think seeing Kotoko got through the same pain as him, his hero instincts would kick in and he’d gradually help.
Normal-au
Mahiru once again tries out her lovers’ interests, and gets a bunch of new hobbies. Fuuta teaches her to game, she works out with Kotoko, and she tries out photography with Mikoto. She becomes close with Fuuta’s beautician sister, and enjoys bonding over fashion and hair. She helps redye Mikoto’s hair, and give the other two pointers on style now and then. When going to nicer events, she and Mikoto have to step in and stop the others from their sneaker/hoodie combos. As the only one with a license, she’s the designated driver at all events, but doesn’t mind.
Fuuta uses his tech skills to set up social media accounts for the others. He helps Mahiru network her flower shop, fighting anyone who leaves a bad comment/review. He helps set up a complex online portfolio for Mikoto. He and Kotoko still have a passion for justice, and he becomes the tech brains behind her vigilante operations (very Ron Stoppable - Kim Possible) It’s not necessarily healthy growth, but they’re happy with it lmao
Mikoto is the only full-time worker, the others are all still in university, and he makes sure to keep them all on track. He knows the most efficient tricks and cheats about getting papers done, pulling all-nighters, and cramming before an exam. The others have learned to spot when he’s burning himself out for others, and will stop him when he tries to take on too much. They’ll take care of him and force him to rest. While he can still get into a bit of trouble, John learns to call them first and get some help.
Kotoko has trained herself to find people and information easily to catch criminals, but she finds use for it in much more mundane ways – she tracks down clients for Mahiru, snoops around Mikoto’s company to make sure he’s being treated right, and keeps an eye out for the people Fuuta is calling out and/or hanging out with. She goes on runs with Mahiru, and bike rides with Mikoto. Fuuta tags along sometimes to strengthen his legs for soccer.
There’s definitely potential for them all to have their murders pre- or mid- relationship, and they help one another improve themselves and heal. I’m also a sucker for the relationship itself to cause them to change their ways and narrowly avoid the murder in the first place. (For the latter, Mahiru would ironically be the last to join the relationship, since she’d still be with her bf until the other three inspire her to break it off with him gently.)

I cant wait for yurika's vd to be like trial 1 Mikoto where she just goes apeshit on the guards (i know she cant, but the thought is funny nonetheless.) Also, could we get a general map of your prison? Is it exactly like canongram, or a bit different?

well, uh. well about that. um. a-anyway, her vd is gonna be fun <3
okay, so i suck at drawing maps, soooo instead i just wrote down some things about how the prison looks!
this prison doesn't have eleven cells and only has ten. so yeah, it doesn't have a secret eleventh prisoner or anything like that. it doesn't mean that eiji and miki were always supposed to be the guards though. all cells have the same numbers as the prisoners.
the way the cells are located is a bit different though: on the map it looks like they aren't that far from each other, but to get to each cell, you will need at least five minutes. in fact, sometimes it feels like those cells are actually pretty far and eiji and miki may need more than ten minutes. and considering that one of the guards is very physically weak for understandable reasons, walking there can be really painful for eiji. why would they even need to make these cells so far apart from each other and why would they try to make it look like you will need less than two minutes to get to each cell? it feels like they're making fun of the guards, honestly.. or do they just want to see how loyal they really are? it probably doesn't make a lot of sense because the cells are most likely supposed to be exactly next to each other, BUT THIS IS MY VISION.
the wiki says that the canongram cells are supposed to look like these white rooms with everyone's height charts, but in my head the linagram cells look much darker and overall have a more scary atmosphere. it's not really related to the map, just something i wanted to share jdkslsls.
BOY THIS PRISON HAS SO MANY HIDDEN THINGS. first of all, lots of cameras. it's really hard to find them and they're basically not visible, but it is possible that someone will notice them one day. the cameras are there to keep an eye on eiji, miki and the prisoners, but they're also there so that the third guard can watch them without having to leave his room. of course, he's not the only one who uses them.
in the corridor, you can also see a small screen hanging on the wall and there's also one in the dining room. eiji and miki's rooms have screens as well, but they're only used to talk about everyone's verdicts. eiji and miki have never found the fact that even the dining room has a screen weird and just thought that it's supposed to be like that. some prisoners thought they could watch tv here and were disappointed when they found out this is not the case.
the dining room, the storage room and the shower rooms are also there and eiji and miki have their own rooms as well. their rooms actually don't look much like es' room and both of them are unique, show their personalities and have everything those guards might need. it looks like whoever is in charge of everything really wanted these two to feel at home. well, they already do.
this prison has a lot of hidden rooms though and they're made to look like all of them are actually a part of the wall. basically, they have the same color and texture as the wall, they don't have any doorknobs, they don't stand out in any way. so naturally, no one notices them. one of those rooms is the third guard' room, jackalope's room is also there. most of those rooms are locked, but not all of them.
#again most of these things don't make any sense but they sound fun in my head#and we don't know much about how canongram works so i'm just. you know. i'm just kinda trying things and if they sound cool i keep them :'D#basically this whole prison is like. “yeah let's put these guards into situations but also make them feel like we care about them”#which. um. scares me a lot when i look at what i wrote for the t2 vds#if you need a hint. *i lean closer to you and whisper into your ear* the guards don't actually have that much power here.#IDK SOMETHING ABOUT THEM TAKING PEOPLE WHO ARE SO EASY TO MANIPULATE AND WHO JUST REALLY WANT TO FEEL LIKE THEY'RE DOING THE RIGHT THING#AND MAKING THEM JUDGE EVERYONE WHILE ALSO MAKING THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE PAINFUL FOR THEM IS SO. Y E A H#❔answering asks ❔

I feel like something that should be mentioned here (because I think this is where a lot of people struggle with the idea that exercise ≠ weight loss) is that, of course, calories in calories out is just physics. When people say something like dieting or exercise are not effective weight loss strategies, they don't mean that people's bodies break the laws of physics; they mean those treatment strategies aren't maintainable or have underlying confounding mechanisms, and that's not the fault of the patient. That could mean anything from exercising being unenjoyable and therefore not maintained over time to hormonal changes that make weight loss more difficult with one strategy compared to others. Again, neither of those things are the fault of the patient, and clinicians and researchers should be aiming to create sustainable treatment plans for all conditions.*
I don't know if you've addressed this somewhere in the notes already (apologies if you have! Same for the main point of my reblog. I feel like the idea was lightly conveyed, but I wanted to explicitly lay it out for people not reading close enough), but I do think it's relevant to also point out that the T2 diabetes article says that exercise patients have decreased adipose tissue weight that was offset by muscle gain. Usually, that's what people care about in weight loss, especially visceral adipose tissue from a health standpoint, so I'm not certain that particular article strongly supports your argument. I get that the aesthetic results of deceased visceral fat don't necessarily translate to conventional aesthetic aspirations, but I'm not really certain that that specific article supports the thesis that exercise isn't good for weight loss very well since the goal isn't usually strictly about numbers on the scale- for the patient or the clinician. That said, I do think T2 diabetics are a uniquely motivated group to adhere to exercise regimens (or any regimen) both due to the fact that they have to manage their diet and the awful societal shaming they get for what people view as a self-inflicted condition. TL;DR: I don't think the T2 diabetes article supports your argument well, but I also don't think it's particularly detrimental to it.
*I'm going to add as an addendum that being overweight isn't always an issue; extra weight can cause problems for some people, so we do need safe, effective weight loss strategies, but that's not the case for everyone. Regardless, if a patient doesn't view it as an issue, then the clinician needs to shut up about it unless it's immediately relevant to whatever is currently at hand (e.g. the patient needs surgery and being overweight actually increases their risk of complications), and even then the patient should still be allowed to make their own informed decisions about their health.
Me: Exercise does not cause weight loss. This is a fact that has been demonstrated so robustly in research that even doctors, who hate and fear evidence, are grudgingly starting to admit this.
Someone reading that post: Cool, but have you considered that exercise leads to weight loss?
Me: I am going to eat you
#i want to double clarify that being fat isn't inherently an issue#and even if it is an issue#it's not a moral failing#not being able to lose weight is not a moral failing#not being able to stick to /any/ treatment plan is not a moral failing#a hard to maintain treatment plan is a BAD ONE#sometimes the best medicine has are objectively bad treatment plans#but that doesn't mean it's alright to shame patients for not being able to keep up with them#like how many of you shits actually floss your teeth?#or even actually brush for two whole minutes?#those are objectively easier tasks than dealing with hunger headaches irritability etc#you don't deserve shame either#but stop being assholes to other people#ok you deserve shaming if you're an asshole but not because you don't floss#sorry for the long post#if it's not clear (because i recognize that this is not a stellar example of my writing abilities) i do agree with op#i'm just trying to clarify what i interpreted as op's underlying point#also: if there's a specific detail that better justifies the inclusion of the t2 diabetes article i am obviously happy to hear it#i will completely admit i don't have the time to thoroughly read all of those articles rn#but from the light reading i did i don't think it is a super string piece of evidence#double apologies for also rambling in the tags#it's not even late i am just a rambler

I wish I could also write out something about Shidou, but like, my opinions are shaped based on combination of other people's takes, and it feels as if everyone kind of just stopped analyzing him after people figured out that his crime is related to asking the families of brain dead patients for permission to use the organs of said brain dead patients. After that, no one really went to look into his character deeper, he kinda just got boiled down to as "oh, a surgeon guy", "guy with family", "guy who takes organs", "guy who wanted to be guilty sooo bad and then got innocent twice in a row".
#I can only shape out the vague ideas I have on him but I can't really formulate it properly#something something How he only started feeling the desire to live once he was deemed useful#once his medical knowledge wasn't just taken for granted but as actually important to ensure survival#because I assume in real life doctors nurses and surgeons don't get appreciated often and their efforts go unnoticed#something something How he also assigns more value to life of certain patients and less to others#and how that assignment of certain lives having more value than others was also applied to others and not just patients#including himself. before his medical knowledge was deemed important‚ he likely thought of his own life as having less value#and that for that reason he wanted to die because he thought of himself as not valuable and therefore not deserving of life#especially after he tried to keep a loved one alive but failed. He failed to keep the one life he thought of as valuable alive#And in process also took away lives of the ones other families also thought of as valuable.#The guilt eating him away and making him feel as if he doesn't have the right to exist. And then he gets voted innocent#And is given a reason to live. Maybe his life did have value‚ to keep others alive as well.#I wonder how he'd take being voted guilty in T2 tho. He didn't hear voices during T1 so he'd have no way of knowing he'll be voted guilty.#He'd continue practicing medicine‚ thinking of himself as important and valuable for saving lives.#Only to suddenly be put in restraints before trial 3 is about to begin. Do you think he'd feel betrayed similarly to how Kotoko did?#You told him what he was doing is good and important even‚ but now you're stopping him?#On other hand tho‚ it would have kept him alive since that's what Amane wanted. But how would he know that?#He didn't take Amane's threats seriously (he in general doesn't seem to take anyone younger than himself seriously tbh)#He likely would believe that Amane wouldn't have caused any issue.#It's not like he'd be able to see into the future and know that in this reality he gets killed by her.#Also‚ I feel like Mahiru was doomed no matter what. He gets killed and she dies from lack of care. He lives and she dies cause of his care.#And I think that'd especially fuck him up then. Immediately trigger the memory of how much he tried to keep his loved one alive#only for them to die in the end anyways. You know that audio where he's crying-laughing?#Repeating that “she's alive”? Sure‚ that could be about his wife. But what if we ended up hearing him like that but about Mahiru?#Especially if T2 restraints are also accompanied by voices (but I guess we'll find out that with Muu and Kotoko)#If he heard voices after guilty verdict‚ do you think he'd feel as if he was hearing Mahiru's voice?#Ignoring what is being said and only focusing on the fact that he feels as if he hears her‚ therefore meaning she's definitely alive#T2 really was a lose/lose situation#You either kept him alive but caused him mental and physical torture by voting him Guilty#Or you continued to give him a will to live but have that end up in him getting killed by voting him Innocent

funniest recent guild wars 2 experience happened while in a rift hunting squad. we've got a full squad, 50 people. we get to lake doric and commander calls a 5 minute bio break. everyone goofs off and runs around for 5 minutes. then we wait. 6 minutes. maybe he's getting water, a snack. 10 minutes. someone busts out a harp and plays us some beautiful music. 15 minutes. people start jokingly questioning where commander is. "did he fall in." "is he coming back." "did he die on the shitter." 20 minutes. "oh my god," says one of commander's guildmates. "will locked himself in the bathroom." "what?" "are you joking?" "no, he's in discord right now. he can't get the door open." jokes abound. "dude must have rattled the foundation of the house" "yeah he's never living this one down." 25 minutes. "will is live streaming from the bathroom." "I'm scared to look." "he's got his phone camera on to show us that the door is jammed." 30 minutes. people are getting antsy. "can someone else in the house get the door open?" "no he's home alone." "uh oh lol." "i g2g soon..." 35. our ranks have dwindled. the squad is half gone, half scattered across the map to do tier 1's. our harpist has left. 40. "he's trying to call out the window for help." 45 minutes. "jesus fucking christ," commander says, "fuck." "he's back!" "how was your bathroom break." "I don't even want to do this map now," commander says. "let's not do lake doric right now. let's go to mount maelstrom." there are less than 10 of us left in squad. we dutifully follow him to mount maelstrom. commander goes to map chat. "doing rifts, 3 t1 1 t2 1 t3 on red tag. i locked myself in the bathroom for an hour." ?????? he announces it to the whole map. unprovoked. no one told him to do that. but i guess the people needed to know.
#gw2#to be clear there was about a 15-20 minute window where i was worried about this guy#like did he slip/fall/bash his head in. no it was just a jammed lock on the door. all fine

There's something about Sam's fear that other people don't see her as being a full person that I can't separate from the fact that she was so happy and eager to join Jammer and Victor's conversation on the island.
I'm sure Sam is still in contact with her mom but everyone in her immediate physical community is white.
Her intern and the producer of the show, both of whom she just can't seem to connect with emotionally and she so easily seems to overwhelm with her ideas.
There's also something there about Sam being central to their goals in terms of becoming an influencer and having a successful show, but at the same time she and her success are not something they seem to understand fully? There's a layering there of Sam being Black and Magical and both of those things contributing to that cultural distance.
The producer says 'somehow things always work out for Sam' and the intern is trying to borrow T2 for an animal gimmick without understanding that Sam is genuinely enthusiastic and interested in all the things she does for the show.
And I love Evan, but having white friends who do understand you is not actually a replacement for being able to participate in Black community. It can help but that's all it can do.
Also Aabria specifically commented on Evan's attempts to always cycle in on himself, to maintain some emotional distance for his own protection and I think one of the really sad things that Evan doesn't realize about the stonewall he's built is that it's also going to reduce his efforts and ability to be there for his friends. You can't maintain distance and closeness at the same time no matter how attentive you try to be to the other person. The wall will block outward affection as well as inward.
This is obviously very colored by my own experiences but I remember finding the African Student Society in university and it feeling like a lifeline. That's what I remember when Danielle says Sam wants to be in that moment with the other Black people present.
