I’m a sucker for Good Dad Splinter ever since I watched TMNT ‘03. That rat was gifted sapience and his immediate instinct was kindness. I love that for him.

Rise Splinter lived a rollercoaster of a life, but as a Hollywood star he remembered the names of all his stunt guys and coworkers, and as a prisoner he cared for the rat that shared his cell. His sons are very close and physically affectionate, I think that says something about how he cares? That’s just how I like to headcanon him :)

It’s interesting to explore the idea that a seemingly monstrous transformation is what pushed him to be a kinder human

(Sometime in the past, before Leo had all his medical knowledge)

"Oookaaay...." Leo breathed out long and full of nerves. "Raph, darling brother o'mine, I need you to sit still as possible, k?"

"Leo. That's literally what I'm doing." Raph leveled him with an irritated glare from his position lying as flat on his back as he could be on the floor.

Leo bit his lip, worrying away at it. "Mhm-mm, just uh don't move at all."

He stood there staring down the problem; simultaneously working himself into a panic and working up his nerve to do what needed to be done. See, he'd never had to put anyone's limbs back in place and here he was with no other option but to do it.

Leo switched from chewing on his lip to biting his nails. He began pacing.

"Maybe we should just force some random guy to do it. They would probably know more than I do."

Raph waited through a full minute of Leo trying to talk both of them out of him relocating his knee; then he reached out a hand and grabbed the slider's passing ankle stopping him in his tracks and almost tripping him.

"Leo, just do it. It will be fine. I trust you, you know the most. And the best way to learn is....?"

Raph left his sentence unfinished, looking Leo in the eye, waiting.

"....experience..." Leo finished.

He took a stabilizing breath, Raph released his ankle, and he positioned himself and Raph's leg ready to go.

Before he could back out, Leo gave a swift, firm shove and popped his brother's knee back into place with a loud click.

Testing the movement, Raph sat up and pulled Leo into a one-armed hug.

"Told ya you could do it. Wanna tell Donnie and Mikey it's safe to look now?"

Leo returned the hug, wrapping both his arms and legs around Raph. Mushing his face into him. Body shivering in relief that nothing went wrong.

"Mmph." Was his muffled negative reply.

Raph sighed fondly "Though so." He planted a kiss on Leo's head. "Fine, your eldest brother will do it. I'm the loudest anyway."

Leo scrunched his beak skeptically. "Hmmmmmmnr."

Raph laughed, loud and short. "Didn't understand a word, little brother."

(From: Random ROTTMNT oneshots, continuation of the last chatfic chapter)

Donnie turned off his phone and headed out of his room. He walked quietly towards Leo's room, ready to be bombarded with snarky remarks the moment he entered.

"Aw, Dee isn't heartless after all!"

"So is this a once in a lifetime thing? Or..."

"Whoa, didn't know you actually liked me."

Donnie sighs in annoyance.

When he opens Leo's door, however, there are no snarky remarks. There is no light either, actually.

Donnie walks slightly into the room. 

"Nardo?"

Leo is snuggled up on his bed in a warm fuzzy blanket with tears streaming down his face while he looks at his phone. Donnie can tell just by looking at Leo's face that he's sick. He looks terrible.

"Oh....hey.... Dee..."

Donnie scoffs. "You good?" Leo whines. "No....." 

Donnie sighs and sits on Leo's bed. "So....you really thought I didn't love you?" Leo freezes up at the question and turns off his phone. He snuggles into his blanket further. "S-sort...of..."

Donnie sighs. "Now that is a very, very, that's two very's, stupid idea." "I-Is it really t-though? I m-mean, I put you a-and everyone e-else in so much d-danger and misery a-and-" Donnie cut him off. "And what about you, huh?"

Leo tilts his head in confusion. "W-what do you mean?..." 

Donnie groans in frustration. "I mean that you went through just as much as we did. And the whole thing wasn't even your fault to begin with anyway." Leo looks like he's about to cry even more. "B-but it w-was! I l-lost the key! I g-got Raph captured! I m-made you g-go into the technodrome! I-it was all my f-fault!"

Donnie puts his finger on Leo's lip. "Shush." "B-but-" "I said shush you dum dum. If you actually think that everything that happened is your fault, you need some serious scolding." Leo looks a bit confused and starts fiddling with his blanket.

"B-but it was my fault...."

Donnie sighs in annoyance and leaves the room for a bit. Leo isn't too pleased. Donnie comes back a few minutes later with a blanket. "D-Donnie...?"

Donnie sits down on Leo's bed. "Lie down, you dum dum." "Dee? What are you-" "Just lie down, Nardo."

Leo shrugged and lies down per Donnie's request. Donnie lies down next to him and takes the blanket he was carrying with him and drapes it over him and Leo. Leo chuckles.

"Donnie?" "Shut up Leo, I'm going to sleep with you tonight." 

Leo blinks a few times. "Aren't you a germaphobe?" Donnie rolls his eyes. "Yes. And?" "Uhh.... I'm sick...?"

Donnie scoffs. "So what? You need comfort, and I shall give you comfort." 

Leo looks surprised for a moment and starts to smile while crying again. "I love you Dee Dee...." Donnie smiles at the old nickname that Leo used to call him. He snuggles up against Leo and hugs him to his chest.

"Love you too, Lee Lee...."

I used to be so scared of my roommates cat before we moved in together, but now the little guy absolutely loves me. He is obsessed with cuddles. He lays on all my stuff. He trips me by rubbing up on my legs wherever I go. He hangs out with me all the time, it’s so cute.

Turns out my man just had a resting bitch face and didn’t want me to leave whenever I would visit, who knew lol
