17. Worst romantic experience: A Consortium officer once attempted to woo him to get to his coffers and drugged him one night, only to find one of his ledgers was a fake. When he came to, Duatt hunted them down and murdered them.

18. Biggest insecurity: Having his voice called attention to, which sounds like a hoarse whisper and when on Tyria he gets out of breath easily (he can’t breathe without a rebreather outside the Mists).

19. Weapon of choice: He’s not picky. He prefers large bladed weapons though, especially if they can also be thrown.

20. Role Model: He did have a second-in-command when he was a mercenary warlord in Tyria that he respected and even for a time tried for self-improvement for her.

She jolted up from the steam creature she’d been digging through for parts, unaware she’d have any attention this far up the mountains. In fact, she’d intended to be left alone. That’s why she’d just joined the Vigil, they promised her a grant to further study the steam creatures in an isolated location. “...can I help you?”

The sylvari standing in front of her was short, even by their standards, but stood with the stature of a soldier confident in his skills. “My name is Laranthir. I’ve been sent here to check on you and see how your research is beginning. Don’t worry, I’ll be out of your hair soon.” He reached a hand out to shake hers.

She briefly wipes her hands on her coat, layers of oil and grease smearing around as she hopes it’s not too rude to return the offer with a still dirty hand. “I’ll show you to the workshop,” she clasps her hand in his and gives it a firm shake before turning to walk, “it’s just up this way.”

“Wonderful!” The green sylvari seems unfazed by the grease that had likely smeared onto his own hand, simply quietly nodding at her to lead the way. Maybe this wouldn’t be the worst meeting.

i just wanna give a huge shoutout to all of the folks i was hanging out with last night-- i have sUCH poor memory and i know there’s more folks than this and that im forgetting some ppls urls, however i recall chillin with @vinetooth-prime @radioactivesoda-gw2 @portalentre @systemagica @eldritchseacrab @meddlingmesmer @wickededge @multi-attack @the-arcane-eye + some various [HELL] folks!

it was such an amazing time and genuinely one of the most positive and wholesome experiences i’ve had chilling with new acquaintances in gw2 in a very long time... :”D i usually have saychat completely off to avoid salt, so it was really nice to be able to party with folks in /say for once and not only have no one be nasty, but rather have everyone be genuinely really kind and supportive and fun to talk to!!! it was such a welcome refuge away from all the negativity going down in all the other gw2 channels today, and i really loved seeing everyones characters and new mounts and fashion and dye combos! getting to share about our ocs/writing/rp was so fun too!!

so yeah, thank you all so much!! it was really super lovely interacting with you all, please feel free to hmu in or out of game anytime! <3

Just some miscellaneous thoughts! I figured after she gets back to her family (who loves and cares for her very much, and her back at them) they would help with recovering her identity after Kudu so unceremoniously ripped it off of her.

I had a thing posted a million years ago about how one of the siblings has always wanted to help get some proper teeth back in her head, so maybe after having all her teeth ripped out, she might take the dang offer. I can’t imagine all the crystals buried in her head would be able to be removed, but she could try regrowing her mohawk over them.

And I rambled a bit about not having her limbs on all the time to save power, maybe it grants more flexibility?

I may or may not actually KEEP these thoughts. I just like to explore when I scribble. owo;

those are climbing claws though, asura are diggers. Look up Armadillo feets. X3c But admittedly Sasha draws the best feets ever. I won't ever deny

armadillo feet are indeed very very very very close to how i picture asura feet actually being, tho! specifically the left one here

i think people are misunderstanding me-- i’m not saying asura feet should be REMADE ENTIRELY into an exact dupe of an animal paw-- i’m saying their structure should ideally be a bit more realistic and a bit more flexible, with actual toes and less of a “solid cylinder” like pachyderms have (pachys and camels only have this to spread out extreme weight-- asura obviously do not need this)

asura likely wouldn’t be diggers, however-- they live in rocky caves, not burrows carved out of soil! the images i linked of the squirrel and rat paws would also not be entirely off either even if asura were naturally inclined to dig; remember that rats and squirrels also dig burrows and bury things!

in a rocky cave environment, being able to scuttle over things and across different rock faces would be to their advantage.. when it came to expanding their turf, since asura are extremely intelligent, by the time they got to a point where their populace was SO large that they needed to expand the caves inwards/downwards more, i’d like to suggest the idea that rather than scratching at rocks with their claws (which would be... ineffective), they used some cool as fuck GIANT ASS DRILLING MACHINES--

they definitely probably COULD dig at soil easier than other species! but they likely wouldn’t evolutionarily rely on it if they evolved within natural cave systems. animals that are really wired to dig tend to do so as they carve out burrows in soil as i mentioned!

that being said, while its not hardcore scientific, i do still want to suggest that for w/e reason they might scratch the ground like chickens/other clawed critters sometimes, as a sort of emote like when they’re irate or something

why? cus it’s cute, that’s why ((and bc chickens do it to find tastey insects so it’s not too far off that it might be a weird vestigial behavior))
