Synthetic World: Part 1

She didn't deserve this. None of it. At least, that's what she kept telling herself. Homeless, unloved and so...alone; Sinclair wasn't sure what to do anymore. Thankfully, everything had been quiet and she needed the silence as much as she needed a hug. Desperately. With enough food to last her a week, Sinclair figured that getting comfortable here wasn't going to last long and, eventually, she'd have to leave. Resting in an abandoned vehicle, Sinclair did her best to stay hidden. With no one keeping watch, the blonde had to do it herself. Her cheeks had been stained with her salty tears and her hues had been red and swollen from crying. "... Goddamit." She said, her frustration getting the best of her as she brought the palms of her hands to her face; hiding behind them when she did. Her heart was so heavy and it was making it harder to breathe; thus, bringing her into a panic attack where she had no one to ease the glitch that longed to break free. “Please..." She started, rolling over onto her side as she screamed into her bag.

Eventually, the muffled screaming had stopped and it didn't gain any attention so she was fine but that didn't stop the aching and rotting feeling she felt deep within the pit of her stomach. If only she had been honest from the start; if only she had stayed out of Copeland's business. If she had, she wouldn't be here. She'd be with Levi, resting in his arms where she belonged. However, instead, she was forced to suffer the consequences of her actions. Shaking, she took a deep breath and then swallowed hard before lying onto her back. Staring at the roof of the car, Sinclair did her best to lie still as her muscles and body still ached from Jude's torturous splendor. She could feel the gash on her cheek remained and although it was heeling, it still stung. Especially when her tears soaked into it. "...I miss him..." She whispered to herself, knowing that even though he'd banished her; she still loved him. But he doesn't love you anymore. She thought, feeling a lump in her throat.

For two days, Sinclair had been on her own and she felt more hopeless now than when she did with her abusive ex-husband. "Pull yourself together...you can do this. You're a survivor..." Believing that her words would do exactly as she requested of them, Sinclair sat up and then noticed in the distance a moving light. It was getting closer but she tilted her head in question. Who was that? They'd been close enough to acknowledge but too far to really see. It took her eyes a bit to adjust until she'd realized it had been a red haired girl and a small boy; running. But, from what?

She knew that if she played hero, she'd be throwing herself into the fire but seeing the fear on both of their faces told her that she'd have no other choice. Clenching her jaw, she grabbed her bag and then packed her belongings before opening the car door. The moment she had, she heard the snarling and then realized the infected had been chasing close behind them. Unaware of how many there had been, Sinclair didn't ask and she took off in their direction. She had a gun but in fear of gaining more attention, she didn't use it. Instead, she did what she could do best and utilized her robotics in order to fight them off. "Over here!" She yelled, hoping that they'd look in her direction.

The infected caught wind and broke off from the others and headed in Sinclair's direction. She didn't have to worry about infection but she did have to worry about having her skull caved in, so she braced herself for the attack when swinging her arm into one of the psychotics necks. Breaking it, Sinclair watched it fall at her feet and then jumped over it before hurtling towards the two once more. "I can get us out of here!" Hoping to reassure them; she prayed that they'd listen, that they'd trust her. If they did, she lured them back towards the car and with ease she started it and the wires from having hot-wired it not too long ago started the engine up and she drove off without a second thought. Knowing the two would be in the seat behind her, she sped from the infected and they desperately tried to trail behind them.

"Are you two okay?!" She asked, looking in the rear view of the mirror. They'd been sweating and covered in dirt. Not only that, they looked famished. "I have some water left in my bag..." Wiggling it off of her back, she tossed it behind her. "Front pocket." When her attention adverted back towards the road, she took a moment to introduce herself. “I’m Sinclair...by the way..."
