Brewery Releases and Tasting at Alesong Brewery and Blending
Press Release
EUGENE, OR:  On Saturday, May 20th from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m., Eugene’s Alesong Brewing and Blending is hosting its fourth release of barrel-aged beers with a nod towards the coming sunny days of summer.  Alesong’s new beers will be available for tasting for the first time and bottle pickup for mailing list members (sign up at alesongbrewing.com/join).  Additionally, in celebration of their collaboration with the Eugene Symphony and its upcoming SymFest, a classical string ensemble will perform during the release.
“We’re all excited about this release as it includes a few really fun projects, but for me it’s especially meaningful since we’re releasing my awesome wedding beer, Plum in Love,” says cofounder and cellarmaster Brian Coombs.  “We’re also looking forward to warmer weather and the beginning of fruit beer season!”
Beers to be released include:
Touch of Brett: Mosaic – Farmhouse ale aged in French oak barrels and dry hopped with Mosaic hops.
Pinot Spontanée – Barrel-aged wild ale spontaneously fermented on Pinot Noir must.
Plum in Love – Wild golden ale aged in French oak barrels with whole local Santa Rosa plums.
Strawberry Symphony – Collab with the Eugene Symphony. Strawberry gose with 100% OR ingredients.
EVENT DETAILS: The event will take place from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. on May 20th at Alesong’s brewery at 1000 Conger Street in Eugene.  A Eugene Symphony string ensemble will provide live music for a portion of the afternoon and a food cart will be on site with meals available for purchase.  Beers will be released online first to Alesong’s mailing list a couple weeks prior to the release and this will be the official pick-up party.  For members who have purchased bottles during the online presale, orders will be ready for pickup and free samples will be available of each, served in commemorative glassware and accompanied with carefully paired chocolates.
Non-mailing list members are also welcome - tastes of our newest release and chocolate pairing will be available for purchase ($15; no commemorative glassware) as well as bottles of the new release depending on availability after the presale.
ABOUT ALESONG BREWING AND BLENDING: Alesong Brewing and Blending was founded by industry veterans looking to explore their creativity outside the constraints of a typical production brewery.  Alesong strives to brew unique and small-batch beers with a focus on oak aging and Belgian-inspired techniques, brewing both wild and non-wild beers, using locally grown fruits, herbs and a host of special yeasts and other microbes.  Once the beer in the barrels has matured, the team samples and selects each barrel individually to blend. Paying homage to old-world Lambic blenders and artisan winemakers, Alesong believes that the final, balanced blend of a barrel-aged beer is much more satisfying than the sum of its parts or each individual barrel by itself. Had a great time co-hosting the First Friday ArtWalk with Eugene Symphony conductor @leccechong yesterday... this moment was from an ArtWalk stop (at @passionflower werdesign 🌺) that was especially fun for me, as it involved a demonstration of kokedama, a Japanese technique for indoor plants (plants AND art?! Yes please!). Thanks to the @eugene.symphony and @laneartscouncil for offering me this uniquely lovely opportunity! 🙏🙏🙏 Come see Francesco Lecce-Chong and me joining forces yet again (on the @hultcenter stage this time!) at the Eugene Symphony’s SymFest on June 1st! Tickets available through eugenesymphony.org #eugeneoregon #firstfridayartwalk #passionflowereugene #kokedama #plantlovers #artstagram #hosting🎤 # beautifuldayforawalk (at Passionflower Design) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxD4nwigi3N/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=180a6lb0luo7j

There are some SUPER EXCITING plans in the works with conductor @leccechong and the @eugene.symphony for this season’s SymFest on June 1st! Meeting today to discuss said plans (along with my friend and talented orchestral arranger Matt Treder🎹) has me feeling so full of joyful anticipation! You guys, it’s a total dream-come-true for me to be performing in my hometown WITH THE SYMPHONY!
