Xiao tilts his chin just so, listening carefully. There's a gait approaching - familiar, though it's been some time since he last heart it - not to mention alone.

"Sylvie?" He drops to the ground from the tree he'd been keeping watch from, hoping he doesn't startle them too terribly. Mingyun Village has been attracting more negative spiritual energy lately. It's a little way from his usual patrols, but the marsh has been fairly quiet. The detour seems worth it.

"Is everything okay?" His voice is uneasy - never good at reading anyone's mood. While they're someone he certainly isn't opposed to running into, any change in routine tends to put him on edge - just in case.

It was not true violence, of course, for its aim was their hair. Winds from different directions blew to and fro, aiming to make it a tangled mess.

A shit-eating smirk was quick to spread across their face, placing their hands on their cheeks and purposefully pitching their voice up after faking a sneeze. "Oooh, Barbatos bless you! It must be a good sign of luck upcoming for you!"

Their voice promptly shifted into a much deeper one, and in a different cadence. "Well, it is said that any wind is a blessing from Barbatos, as such any action of whistling, sneezing, or such can be said to call upon the winds."

Sylvie's smirk never faltered once with their words, corners of their eyes crinkled up. Welcome to what they suffered through two-thousand years ago, Venti.
