This random NPC conversation is honestly my favorite in the game. I remember overhearing it when I was looking away from my screen, doing a double-take, and sticking around to hear it again. And this was back when they first rebuilt Lion's Arch.

I happened to hear it again today and had to screencap it.

thinking about the mlm and transmasc rep situation again and i think the thing that gets me about it is how exceedingly easy and completely inconsequential it would be for a single writer to just sprinkle in a bit of rep. like a bulk of the queer rep we already have is via random npc dialogue out in city maps or festivals or something and is not even voice acted. you literally have to change NOTHING and dont even need to pay for extra voice lines to just change a single pronoun or word in some npc's pop-up text from "girlfriend" to "boyfriend". this is not a replacement for centered, featured representation with actually memorable chararacters played by queer actors or so on, but it'd be SOMETHING and it's amazing in a sad way that we have like actually nothing right now

Tyria March [EU] and Concert by [MUSE].

The 'Walk' is an annual two-day community held-event that last for about three hours each. It begins at the Field of Fallen in Lion's Arch, stretching all the way to Soren Draa in Metrica Province, right before the portal into Rata Sum.

Before starting the walk, participants usually engage in concerts held by musical guilds as a warm-up. At the very end, there may be several after-parties and additional events. As it has been held successively in many previous years, there are now traditions attributed with the walk. One such example is greeting Aid Worker Sya.

It is generally acknowledged that this is the biggest community originated event that current exists in GW2, occurring at the end of June right near the end of Dragon's Bash.

Fjaldjsk I thought it had to have been a voiced dialog abt Yao because of the "forced" comment. Tbh Yao is brave about a LOT of things but I don't think the Commander commented on their gender at all so it had to have been smth else ENTIRELY UNRELATED

but no they just went and called an optional unvoiced dialogue option with a character who never shows up in main story "forced" sjdkshskshsk

i havent really delved in the tags for arguments but just from browsing around the places i already follow, for every person ive seen who’s somehow salty about the new hairstyles/faces or making jokes about them, there’s like at least five people who are extremely thankful for them or literally have come back to gw2 or decided to buy/try gw2 due to the new hairs/faces

even within my guild alone there’s been like... probably about 10 people who have instantly been like “omg i need a human now” and a lot of people going “YESSS I CAN FINALLY MAKE MY OC ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE THEMSELF NOW!!!!” and it’s really heartening !!

Masterpost LGBT+ Rep in Guild wars 2

The gw2 team is so underappreciated with their amazing representation in their game (The game itself is underappreciated, one of the few excellent ftp mmos that doesnt hide every decision behind a paywall) I wanted to compile all screenshots I’ve made in this game that show excellent queer representation. The main representation is obviously the canon couple of two of the main chars, Marjory and Kasmeer. 

There have been discourses going on about this being a "hypersexualised" ship for the male audience, yet in light of this not being the only rep this game presents, these claims can be disputed. Marjory and Kas are main characters whose relationship has not been a focus, but definitly a part of their development.  Another queer rep in the main cast is Caithe and Faolain, although their history is complicated and their relationship has turned foul, it displays a realistic view on queer couples and how not every queer pair is sunshine and rainbows.

Note, Sylvari, a playable race in this game, is technically genderless.  Other queer background characters give a nice insight in every-day, normal queer couples. For instance, the two male-appearing sylvari Dagdar and Eladus from the green knight personal story, a customisable part of the sylvari story. 

In short, theyre a couple who is in danger, and the player has to save them.  Then theres Sya, a transgender woman who used to be known as Symon.

BONUS, a girl chillin in the hotspring, dropping hints without the dude catching ANY of it.

This was largely fun for me to compile but if anyone finds any more, feel free to add. I find the community of this game sadly small on social media despite its numbers.

NA AND I HOPE YOU LOVE IT

technically my server is Borlis Pass BUT unlike a lot of other MMOs, GW2 uses a megaserver; all NA players play on the same maps as a result regardless of your server. your server only matters in a kind of gameplay called WvW (World vs World) where people from the same server fight people in other servers, so otherwise go wild
