This random NPC conversation is honestly my favorite in the game. I remember overhearing it when I was looking away from my screen, doing a double-take, and sticking around to hear it again. And this was back when they first rebuilt Lion's Arch.

I happened to hear it again today and had to screencap it.

The 'Walk' is an annual two-day community held-event that last for about three hours each. It begins at the Field of Fallen in Lion's Arch, stretching all the way to Soren Draa in Metrica Province, right before the portal into Rata Sum.

Before starting the walk, participants usually engage in concerts held by musical guilds as a warm-up. At the very end, there may be several after-parties and additional events. As it has been held successively in many previous years, there are now traditions attributed with the walk. One such example is greeting Aid Worker Sya.

It is generally acknowledged that this is the biggest community originated event that current exists in GW2, occurring at the end of June right near the end of Dragon's Bash.

played through a bit of no quarter last night to catch up on the story and it struck me how easy it would be to just put in like, a random npc charr that’s like “i’m worried about fighting people i grew up with” and you keep talking to him like “its hard having people who you trusted with personal info just up and abandon you, and can now use that against you, i spent lots of time and energy changing my name, my body, my gender, and its scary that they can taunt me or target me because of who i am and who i used to be” and you have an option to say either “well you can count on me to have your back, i promise” and be a good ally, OR you can say “hey, i’m trans too, i get where you’re coming from, we’ll win this together”. just like, a simple little optional thing like that could be absolutely huge representation, and a big improvement over aid worker sya (no matter how much i love her) shouting her deadname in the middle of lion’s arch

The Little Things: Aid Worker Sya From the wikia: “Aid Worker Sya is a trans Order of Whispers agent who helped around the refugee camp on the Stormbluff Isle during Scarlet Briar's attack on Lion's Arch. Inspired to embrace her true self in the face of losing everything, she shed her former name, and used her mesmer magic to aid in her transition. After the Lion's Arch reconstruction efforts finished, she returned to the city.”

She was added to the game in 2015.

Tyrian LGBTQ+ Characters & Themes

Hello everyone

I’m trying to keep track of LGBTQ+ themes and characters in the game so far, and while I’ve got a bunch of them already, I’m so sure I’m missing some from this list under the cut....

● Kasmeer and Jory  ● Caithe and Faolain ● Dagdar and Eladus  ● Cymbel and Nia ● Olmakhan Nerys and Cadell ● Zohaqan and Nakis ● Fronis Darkstone ● Norn Savage ● Saldis Razortongue ● Exiffa(?) ● Aid Worker Sya  ● The asuran ‘citizens’ in Desider Atum  ● Pact Vanguard in Jahai Bluffs planning his wedding with his same-gender partner (Thank you, @chyoatas!) ● Joko   ● Possibility of same-gender matchmaking for nobles in Elona. 

There’s also several NPCs who flirt/ask out the Commander regardless of gender.

And some additional to break down stereotypes are the kids playing investigators in Lion’s Arch where the boy says he’ll play Marjory.

I’m sure I remember a interracial f/f couple that involves an asura and a charr or norn and I can’t remember where that is. 

So yeah, if anyone has other examples they can think of and would be willing to share I’d be super grateful! :>
